Pros A lot of templates available for project. The tool is powerful with great debugging tools. Visual studio come in three different packages so you can choose which edition works best for you. Sharing code becomes easy as well. Cons It is a great tool but it is a little heavy on resources. The enterprise edition is a little expensive. It only support Microsoft languages. It is a great tool to help both beginners learn the syntax of a language, and also enough advanced features for even the most advanced developer. Pros I recently starting shifting my work away from mainframe to more modern languages. It has been an incredible surprise how well VS works! From automatic code formatting, to variable suggestions to the seamless code compilation, this product just works. Learning an entirely new code language and style has been difficult, but this editor at least makes the nuts and bolts part easy. I love the fact you can easily jump around your code to see definitions, references etc.. I have yet to find any real flaws with using this editor. Cons I assume it comes with a rather high price tag, but if your company can afford it, it is well worth the price. Pros I code A LOT in Javascript/NodeJS/React and Visual Studio is a god send. The plugins are so diverse and incredible and having autocomplete on my JS is unreal. Best IDE I've ever used. Cons I don't really have any complaints except my GIT sometimes getting messed up in the application when I update it or some of my plugins getting messed up. Cons I'm not a Microsoft fan, yet I've got to say that they've done a really good job on VS. The only thing that bugs me when using it is that it doesn't restore open tabs after quitting the app - but maybe I've just not found the setting for that yet.
