Adding and disposing of assets is intuitive. The reports are easy to run and understand. Edits (when needed) are easy to do. The few times I've needed tech support they were quick to respond, and knew how to solve my issues (always user error). When tax law changes, they are prompt in updating the software. Pros Asset Keeper Pro is intuitive and very easy to use. It can track many depreciation schedules for each asset (i.e. Book, Tax, State tax, Custom, Etc). Assets are easy to enter. Disposals are a breeze. My tax preparer and auditor love the reports that Asset Keeper Pro generates. Cons The only thing that would make Asset Keeper Pro better is if it automatically interfaced with m y accounting software. Reasons for choosing Asset Keeper I have had a 100% positive experience with Asset Keeper for over a decade. I have zero reason or motivation to look for alternative products. I was advised that they had a great conversion from Fixed Asset CS and a lot of customers switched from that product. The conversion process is labor intensive just to get the data over to Asset Keeper Pro. But worse is yet to come. Once you get the data in there you have to recreate your asset groupings, assigned G/L accounts, etc. If you're starting from scratch it is a good product and definitely worth considering. Their customer support isn't always available, but they are very responsive and quick to get back to you if you have to "leave a message." Pros Conversion from Fixed Asset CS. If you're converting from Fixed Asset CS, give Asset Keeper Pro a miss. It won't convert much of anything and if you have a lot of assets, you are going to spend days and weeks adding groups, G/L accounts, etc. Cons Now if this is a greenfield installation, I really like the program. It's pretty easy to set up clients, add assets, etc. Unfortunately the conversion from Fixed Asset CS is bare bare bones. The support people are really helpful even if you don't always like the answer. Reasons for choosing Asset Keeper Well, I am switching to ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager from Asset Keeper Pro after seven months with Asst Keeper Pro. I initially choe Asset Keeper Pro over ProSeries Fixed Asset Manager because I'm not a fan of Intuit. I had to bite the bullet because Asset Keeper Pro isn't a good fit for anyone who has a lot of (client) assets to convert. Stay away! Before the program, I would manually input the assets in Excel and this has made it much easier to track and save time on adding information. Pros The program is user friendly. I really like how it allows us to import a template list of assets into the program and it populates the information if you click on an asset that is similar. I also like how it gives step by step instructions and a resource help center to look up information. Cons I would like to add more feature selections to generate reports. For example, I am not able to add more details of type or departments to the monthly acquisition report. It accurately tracks our fixed assets and depreciation, is easy to manage and has good overall functionality. Pros This software is very easy to use, and it's easy to make corrections, search for entries, and find the correct reports. Cons Doesn't seem to have the ability to interface with our accounting software.
