June 9, 2025 5.0 Pros The ability to track and manage assets is essential when there are multiple employees/students. I loved that there is an ability to track calibration dates as well as depreciation! You can get very detailed about where an item is located, down to shelf spot, or desk drawer, etc. Cons The worst part of any system like this is that you will have to enter each item individually. It does not magically add your entire inventory! Review Source R Reviewer Laboratory Analyst Used the software for: Less than 1 year ### "WASP Cloud" August 24, 2021 3.0 The intent for using of this software is to reduce typographical errors on case related paperwork, reduce the amount of information written on case related documents with the use of an asset tag number, provide a one stop location of all electronic data (e.g. Q/QC data, Casefile documents, product information, etc.) as they pertain to specific asset numbers and assets associated to the parent asset. The software accomplishes this goal. Although years ago sales had recommended "Professional" when it was the available software type/version based on our needs when I originally reached out the WASP, I can't say that I would recommend this software for the laboratories functions and needs I have outlined throughout this survey for other forensic laboratories. Pros Creating a label within the software is a nice feature and makes that function easy. The previous Enterprise version required a label software to generate labels making it rather laborious. Customer service is mostly helpful although there were a few instances a resolution could not be resolved either by the lack of knowledge of the rep or the limitation of the software. Cons Integration of my 3G database from Enterprise to Cloud was a nightmare and took months to resolve. Although the software is easy to use once the user becomes familiar with its functionality, it is not user friendly and takes a significant amount of time to navigate the program. A training session either on-site or by virtual meeting would be helpful. Some of the available video were helpful, but limited. Once the user becomes familiar with the software, portions are easily navigable, other functions are not attainable. One function I'd like to see improved is the ability to pull expiration dates of assets between a select subset of days. Currently, to pull a select range of expiration dates (e.g. 08/01/21 - 08/14/21), I have to search for the year 2021, then scroll and select assets within that date range. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Senior Equipment Technician Used the software for: 3-5 years ### "AssetCloud Review - Highly effective for mobile asset management" May 30, 2024 5.0 I've found AssetCloud to be very effective at managing the condition and location of our approximately 700 assets, and the robust report functionality as well as the in-built transaction history has made locating lost assets much easier than in previous systems. Pros AssetCloud is regularly updated and I've seen bugs that I've experienced getting fixed, as well as useful new features being implemented over the last couple years. Setting up AssetCloud was very simple as I was able to batch import assets from a previous database very quickly, and adding custom fields specific to my use case was easy. Technical support is very good. I've raised tickets regarding complex things I'm trying to do with the report designer and I've received extremely helpful guidance. Responses to tickets regarding use of the API has also been very helpful as the API documentation isn't ideal for someone without a lot of experience with API queries. Cons The reporting system has a very steep learning curve, and it took me months of intermittent use before I was comfortable with it. The report designer's non-functioning undo function is still maybe my greatest complaint with AssetCloud as a whole. As stated above, the API documentation could be a bit more detailed in its implementation guidance. The ability to access our asset information in the cloud far outweighs the few "cons" we've discovered. Pros What I like most about AssetCloud is the ability to easily access all our asset information in the cloud, regardless of where we are. This allows us to easily and quickly update asset information while on-site at our locations rather than waiting (and forgetting) once we get back to our central office. Cons The Quick Search feature, allowing you to quickly search all assets, only searches a minimal number of pre-set columns. Unfortunately for us, the columns it searches are not the ones we typically need to search against. I can now check out things to end users and check them in when IT is working on them. I ALWAYS know where an asset is and who has it. Pros Easy to use and great support. It is setup in a logical fashion. I particularly like being able to track items when they are being worked on by IT or just in a users possession. Cons Nothing so far. The product does what it states it will do and when there is a complex thing to accomplish the support staff is ready and willing to help. I was able to assign equipment to an on the fly audit and manage contracts all in one dashboard. Pros AssetCloud allowed me to configure scheduled reports that arrived in my inbox at regular intervals so that I could see each day the status and history of assets without having to take any manual action. Cons There are cases where I do not want junior staff to be able to easily change asset information and correctly configuring this is more work. Once we received our approval we had several training session and the rep came to our place of business and gave us a hands on training session. This answered a lot of questions on how to's and made the system more useful than we realized before purchasing. Pros What I like most about AssetCloud is it is simple to learn and does so much. We can track our assets and our multi-quantity assets in one simple program. Cons What I like least about AssetCloud is importing our data to set the system up. It's not difficult but it is time consuming but has to be done. This is a critical component in any IT department and Wasp provides a very customizable product that is easy to setup and manage. Cons Over the years of the product changing, I still have the same minor stumble during implementation which is how to import device models into a table without doing some customization. Other than that, the product is great. Pros AssetCloud provides our organization with the flexibility to add, audit, and maintain assets in the office or remotely from any internet-connected device. Cons Data importing from other applications or documents, such as csv files, could be more robust by allowing data to be imported. If new data is entered for tables such as vendor, it should prompt for additional information to be given, not just error out of the import. Names that I search is not always pulling even through it is in part of the naming. Still need to learn how to set my fields for reporting without having to re due it every time. Pros Easily accessible through web browser and mobile app, easy to import, export and maintain asset information. Capturing a signature for "check out" is a great feature. Cons Considerably slower than MobileAsset using the web interface, asset tags are customizable as reports but print in poor quality compared to Wasp Labeler software. August 18, 2021 5.0 AssetCloud is the best tool we've found to serve our multiple requirements for our pool of assets (sales demonstration, tech support, and rentals, also depreciation and calibration tracking) Pros We use AssetCloud to track thousands of assets spread all over the company. These assets are used for sales demonstrations, tech support, and also rentals. The check-out and check-in functions make it simple to move items and keep track of where they are, and when they're due to be returned. We also use the depreciation utility to calculate depreciation each month, and track current book value. Cons In a previous version, we used the "parent/child" asset relationship tool. It was only recently added back to the AssetCloud version. I would like to have the view option to see "Top level assets only" in the main list views. Regarding initial set up, it takes time and patience to upload an existing database. Care must be taken to have upload files properly formatted and uploaded in the correct order. But that's the world of relational databases! It also allows us to use mobile devices to help check out and check in device in real time for users and students who need to transition to remote learning and/or transition to onsite learning. Cons For what we use the software for, there are not aspects of the software that we feel are lacking in any way. Review Source R Reviewer Project Manager Used the software for: 1-3 years ### "Asset Cloud Review from K12 Education Kitchen Equipment User" February 10, 2022 4.0 The Work Orders and Quick Maintenance functions need to be improved in Asset Cloud. These functions should be more robust in the future. For example a report history by asset is not available for work orders but is for quick maintenance, but the quick maintenance has capabilities that the other doesn't. I had to make my own list of the differences between the two functions, rather than AssetCloud staff providing this for me. The Work Orders require more data input, but they do not have a report for history by asset. This software absolutely needs a thorough report that details the notes from the Work Order, by export into excel. One can print to pdf and one cannot, why can't they both print to pdf and run the same reports, i.e. continuity. Also, when I ask specific questions about work orders and quick maintenance in training sessions or on the phone with support, the Asset Cloud staff do not know the information. There should be at least one expert at Asset Cloud that is a subject matter expert on all areas of the Asset Cloud software. Pros I like that it is easy enough to manage, not too many data points, easy to check and clean up data. Cons There was not enough help with integration or implementation support. I was told to figure out how to import my data myself rather than it being included with the purchase price. I also thought the cost of initial implementation and training should have been covered in the initial cost. It feels like AssetCloud nickel and dimes you for information and services that should already be supported in the initial set up. Also anytime my staff need to learn something I have to pay for a training session, rather than getting a quick instruction or 15 minute information provided free of charge. Previous systems it was extremely difficult to make sure all items were entered in in a consistent manner, with templates it's much easier now. Checking in and out is easy. Pros It is a simple way to keep track of tools and where they are. Cons 1\. Some of the screens do not associate. For example, if I am searching and go down a rabbit hole, typically you have to redo the search from the start because the program takes you there instead of backing out one step at a time. 2. When you move assets, you can only move what is on the screen and not the whole list, if there are multiple pages, don't like that. 3. Our company has multiples of the same tool, so when entering a new asset, it would be nice to have the program prompt you choose from lists that are already created so you don't have multiple names for one tool, by two different program users. Continuity is important, especially when searching. Especially from a year end Auditing and Accounting perspective, it has been great to run a report, see what we have and what is assigned to who, and then be able to verify each asset and current usage/location. We have barcode stickers on all of our assets, and it makes for a quick and easy visual verification to know if the asset I'm looking at is in our database or not. Pros An Excel spreadsheet will work for tracking assets, but this is much better! We appreciate being able to see all of our assets--along with all their pertinent details and who they are assigned to--in an easy to use interface. Cons When first using the program, search criteria or filters sometimes seemed to get "stuck", and it seemed to be cumbersome to get back to a fresh search. It took some trial-and-error to figure out how to properly clear filters.
