The notes in the account are inaccurate or not in the system. You have to explain yourself to each tech. The sales team do not respond in a timely manner and are extremely hard to reach. Pros Ability to add custom fields. There is nothing else I like most. There are more cons than pros to this system I am highly disappointed in. Cons It does not sort by numerical. This list can go on and on but this is my most least I care for. Having to switch Assets and Serial numbers because of how the system works is the only way it would still benefit me. I came into my position not knowing much about it, but once I received training and saw the bells and whistles, I determined it was a good product to keep using to track our assets. Pros Easy to use once you know the ins and outs of the software. Training sessions are super helpful. Having the ability to purchase durable labels is definitely a plus. Cons Overall, I do like everything about AssetCloud, but I would like to see an option where I can make a mass change/update on multiple assets instead of one at a time. Also, could there be a way we can input AssetCloud into laptops/tablets/desktops to see live diagnostics, or see who was the last log-in on a laptop to help verify ownership better. May 22, 2025 2.0 The on prem version of the software we bought 10 years ago was far better. I understand there's an on prem solution now but the price is so astronomical either way that we'll definitely be looking into other solutions. The lack of communication and the slowness of the cloud based interface only cause pain. Pros We liked the old on prem version we bought 10 years ago. When we found out there was a cloud based solution we thought we might get more out of it since it is more easily accessible. So far getting to the website is possible from anywhere on our network. Cons The cloud based interface is clunky, slow to load, and the fields don't populate quickly at all either. The interface for clearing filters you've already used is a pain. When they recently upgraded the interface it broke our late notifications we had set up to send out to customers. Pros The simplicity of adding new assets and being able to track them in real time. Also, the scannable barcodes are a nice benefit as well. Cons Set up is a little time consuming but is understandable. Other than that, the process is fairly easy. Without it, we would still be stuck in spreadsheets. Pros It's very customizable. You can have unlimited fields to match your needs. The ability to maintain and audit inventory (Multi-quantity assets being the biggest need we had) has been tremendous. Cons The search function is limited. There is also no way to make custom fields mandatorily unique. This is something we would have liked to help avoid duplication of inventory. I loved that there is an ability to track calibration dates as well as depreciation! You can get very detailed about where an item is located, down to shelf spot, or desk drawer, etc. Cons The worst part of any system like this is that you will have to enter each item individually. It does not magically add your entire inventory! Pros I like having organized by category, once we figured out a work around for Location and Site it became a little easier to keep track of where stuff is. I can set my budget, purchase equipment tie that together so I can manage and see how much money is left at any time. I can set locations and check out devices, I know what is where or who has what items at home. Pros The thing I like the most about AssetCloud is the reports. I can easily generate reports for all items received, destroyed, moved, checked in, checked out, or customized fields like damaged over any given period of time. Cons The only con I can think of, is there is a bit of a learning curve. Once you figure out all the fields and options you can tie together it is a really comprehensive asset management program. It would scan the network and automatically add devices it detected, which worked great for some items. Things like monitors it didn't add, plus it would automatically delete items after a set period of time not detecting the device with no audit trail. The support team was always available to help during implementation, but sometimes didn't have an answer or took a long time to reply. We asked for assistance with writing custom reports to aid in extracting date for Depreciation journal entries to be created (because the system doesn't have a canned version for what we want) but we often got push back, even when we offered to pay for report writing time. Pros It is a user friendly interface and pretty intuitive menus. The Asset tracking is good and we like the barcode features using the handheld devices. Cons The depreciation functionality seems to have been an afterthought. Some basic questions we raised during implementation and initial training make it clear the trainer (and developers) did not have a great grasp on the accounting needs around depreciation. Pros AssetCloud is regularly updated and I've seen bugs that I've experienced getting fixed, as well as useful new features being implemented over the last couple years. Setting up AssetCloud was very simple as I was able to batch import assets from a previous database very quickly, and adding custom fields specific to my use case was easy. Technical support is very good. I've raised tickets regarding complex things I'm trying to do with the report designer and I've received extremely helpful guidance. Responses to tickets regarding use of the API has also been very helpful as the API documentation isn't ideal for someone without a lot of experience with API queries. Cons The reporting system has a very steep learning curve, and it took me months of intermittent use before I was comfortable with it. The report designer's non-functioning undo function is still maybe my greatest complaint with AssetCloud as a whole. As stated above, the API documentation could be a bit more detailed in its implementation guidance. We had issues with our barcode at the beginning and it took maybe 10 minutes for an employee to help us and fix the issue. Pros I love that I have all the assets in one place and that it brings order to something that could be easily be a huge mess. I also like the location function of the system which is very helpful for when customers bring back materials. Cons The thing I like the least about this software is the search bar. I can’t simply type in key words from the assets I’ve put in to find them. I either need the asset tag or know the location of the asset. This is not always practical and can be frustrating and time consuming. August 13, 2021 5.0 AssetCloud is the best tool we've found to serve our multiple requirements for our pool of assets (sales demonstration, tech support, and rentals, also depreciation and calibration tracking) Pros We use AssetCloud to track thousands of assets spread all over the company. These assets are used for sales demonstrations, tech support, and also rentals. The check-out and check-in functions make it simple to move items and keep track of where they are, and when they're due to be returned. We also use the depreciation utility to calculate depreciation each month, and track current book value. Cons In a previous version, we used the "parent/child" asset relationship tool. It was only recently added back to the AssetCloud version. I would like to have the view option to see "Top level assets only" in the main list views. Regarding initial set up, it takes time and patience to upload an existing database. Care must be taken to have upload files properly formatted and uploaded in the correct order. But that's the world of relational databases! Reason for choosing Wasp Asset We chose AssetCloud for it's flexibility and feature set that met our needs. Access from anywhere is important, and the ability to track asset locations, check-out/check-in (to customers and employees), and accounting functions were important to us.
