September 20, 2021 5.0 AssetCloud helps us keep organized. I can pull up a particular textbook in AssetCloud, and it tells me how many we have here in storage, how many are checked out to students, etc. I reached out to the company with a question once, and they responded quickly and gave me clear, easy-to-understand guidance. I'm pleased with my experience overall. Pros I love how easy it is to add more of each book to our inventory. If we have acquired more of a certain textbook than we had previously, it is really simple and fast to add a number of that book to our inventory. I also like that AssetCloud allows you to add a due date to each book check-out. Cons I feel like the number of fields that we need to type information into during a book check-out and check-in could be reduced. Review Source JS Jason S. Cons The search can be a little clunky. It works without issue but takes more clicks than I'd want to see. If we could get a Reason for choosing Wasp Asset We just used AD as our method of seeing what machines were in our environment. Asset Cloud allows us far more control over what information we want and need to see. Cons At times the software is slow to update when auditing or moving things. We can't tell that since when have a bunch of items in the inventory is the reason it is slow at times. Wish there was a way to speed it up and make auditing faster. The cloud ver is overall easy to use and I have seen gui improvements in the last year. The iOS app has improved since its first inception but needs a little work in the processing speed. Pros It is easy to use once you learn where all of the items are. The reporting ability is decent and simple to use with the canned reports. Cons The Mass Update options are limited and having to check items in to move and then check back out when a custodian is moving from jobsite to jobsite. The default labels also do not work well in the environment of mechanical maintenance where grease and chemicals are used. We are able to easily export reports that are needed for audits. Cons Product has been great. My only criticism is when using the scanner to enter multiple items the PO Date field doesn't populate in the system. I have to manually go and enter from the website. I would recommend it another person or organization. Pros I'd really like the bulk upload feature. It saves a lot of time and also the search filter is superb. Cons One cons I probably like of is the fact you have pre-load the employees/assignee before assigning an asset to the person can be frustrating at times. The cloud has been very helpful in providing support to these individuals since I’m not in person with them. If they have an issue I’m able to logon remotely and assist with fixing. It will also assist with me tracking time for everyone in the company. Cons I do feel the cloud is a little bit more expensive than other management platforms. So I do wish that they’d have promotions for long time users. Mass importing of data helps a LOT. Cons Setting up label printing was the most painful part of the process. Thankfully, once it's done, it shouldn't need to be revisited. Unfortunately, one software update hosed our printing. Thank goodness for the Service people. We were quickly back on the air. Reason for choosing Wasp Asset AssetCloud was designed for asset tracking where Follett seemed to be a librarian program that had asset tracking added on top of it. It was very arcane to use where AssetCloud was much more straight forward. It gets the job done though. Pros It's pretty simple to setup and get going. It's also fairly easy to use once you learn how the various features function. Cons What I least like about AssetCloud is that it seems that every time an update is rolled out, it resets the view of the assets page. On the assets page, you can organize the view by arranging fields in your preferred order, and you can select which fields are visible as one can customize AssetCloud to be granular with the amount of asset details. When an update to AssetCloud is deployed, the saved view of the asset page is reset and you have to reorganize everything all over again. Review Source JM Joe M. Tech support was a bit difficult to communicate with the first few days.. Pros Ease of setting up and starting. Things can change as you move along and Asset cloud was easy to change with. Cons Tablet crashing constantly when we first started using asset cloud. We would have to re-enter data multiple times. They have since fixed this issue. Pros The tech support we received when first setting the product up. They were very helpful, patient and took time to understand what we needed from a setup and how to avoid pitfalls, such as a recommended way to sequence Asset Tags. It was not uncommon to have support spend 30 mts on a call with us answering our questions before we implemented. Cons I sometimes forget the exact Asset Type (syntax) to search for to bring up the data. This is easily resolved by the menu option of "View Asset Type". Pros I’ve used WASP for over 10 years and I’m glad to have it in cloud form. It’s so much easier to work with, the tracking is spot on, and the ability to access data is critical. Cons There are some features that do not work right. Nothing major and easy to work around but it needs to be fixed. customized views do not save. Editable fields on forms not available.
