We are not losing near as much inventory. Pros I don't have to be at the same computer in the district to take care of business. I can look up what products we have, who has them, what they cost, and when we bought them. It was a little time consuming to setup, but once everything was ready, it reduced the time it took to report inventory. Cons There are a few things that could be added to the multiple device setting. It plays a very critical role within the team. Pros The audit feature is a top favourite. The feature is easy to learn, simple to use regularly, and brings lots of value to the organization. It is also easy to integrate with our business process. Cons The reports features could be formatted in an easier way to read. Support said I could not change the current reports that exist. Pros Having a functioning check in / check out system has been pivotal in our company's struggles against loss. Cons I believe the software could use some work in the way it integrates with itself. There's a lot of separate screens, and separate reports that could easily be grouped into one. Cons I have to enter some information at another point in order to complete an entry; i.e., you have to enter a specific location within a site before you can complete the entry regarding the item. It's been great to use to check in and check out gear to my employees and track where it is and when it will be returned. Cons It is tricky to get started using it. It is not very user friendly. I was familiar with the ServiceNow platform that it is built on and it still is difficult to use. I like that I'm able to customize contract forms to capture the information that's most relevant to me. It's also easy to set up custom emails notifications, which allows me to stay up to date on expiring contracts. Cons I wish there was some agent to install that can automatically collect IT inventory data. The reality is that it was our first real asset tracking system and while it meant we didn't have anything to import the actual deployment went smoother than expected. The ease of use to get employees onboard with using the program was also great. Cons The printable tag creation is still a little iffy. Additionally we still have to print to PDF first, and then print that instead of just straight to the WASP printer. Reason for choosing Wasp Asset Because it offered what we needed and wasn't designed in such a way to be so task specific that it wasn't usable for other items. Review Source GAE Geri Anne E. Just needs some tweeks. Pros The product is very easy for all members of the team to use, regardless of their role. The training required is minimal, the time to enter data is minimal, and therefore compliance is easy. Tracking inventory becomes a simpler process versus annual major headache. Cons While may seem small, staff can't add manufacturer unless it is already on the drop down menu and they often have to add inventory with an "unknown manufacturer", then have to have the data sent "up the chain" to someone else to have it added and this just clogs up the works. The API to integrate the devices to our DB routines is being a problem due to lack of documentation and the problem of downloading a file (AssetCloudAPIHelp.chm) that does not seem to have any content. Pros The device to read the asset tags and other bar codes, together with the possibility of using an API. Cons The documentation for the API and the failure on listing changes on the devices' info when on a grid.
