Pros: When our company was looking to profoundly upgrade our eCommerce engine, we looked at several companies and Insite quickly rose to the top of the pack. There were several reasons for this, key among them was that this software was specifically designed for the complexities of B2B distributors and the complex customer alignments, pricing rules, multi-location distribution and disparate product lines. From a product standpoint, the "out of the box" functionality is fairly robust and allows for customizations - should they be required - however the base product is innovative and addresses multiple issues. Success, within the Insite implementation, begins and ends with the right integration partner. Insite's leadership is very thoughtful and deliberate when it comes to both selecting their partners for their software and which one of these partners is the best fit for your company's particular needs. The partners they have invested in are the true differentiating factor in delivering your upgraded platform on time and with little (or no) post-launch issues. I would highly recommend Insite's eCommerce platform for this reason alone. Also, their project management team (at Insite) are great partners and provide a much-needed basis of knowledge and skill to guide their clients through this long and arduous process.

Cons: Ultimately, the "cons" of the Insite platform are only discovered after you're in it deep. Essentially, having full, comprehensive, deliberate discovery is critical. Having never implemented a solution such as this before, there was a very long learning curve that was likely necessary, but the timeline and budget did not allow for that; thus we "learned as we built" and that created some challenges. Again, the integration partners that Insite carefully selects to manage the operational side are critical to mitigating these issues. From a tactical level, some of the "customizations" offered as an easy to accommodate ended up not being as desired or designed. Further, many customizations will "undo" some later functionality that you may need. Taken individually, these are not "show stoppers" but just add to the confusion and time, and potential cost overruns. Speaking from our instance (4.2) we have found that the admin console is sometimes tricky to use. Further, it is not responsive, so onsite programming requires some workaround. Page scrolling and sorting are not ideal and do not have a great flow to it. Again, not critical elements, rather nuisances that create time. Simple things like "multiple tabs" can create a logout situation which interrupts workflows.

We use Insite for our commerce solution, analytics, and content sharing initiatives.

Pros: We like that Insite has a truly connected commerce mindset and their software allows us organizationally to implement and achieve our company goals, which ultimately are driving by specific KPI's. Their commerce platform has allowed us to give our customers the experience they have been demanding and continue to exceed their expectations.

Cons: Overall, their software really works well for us. Some of the responsiveness of our current site today could be better, but they are developing a mobile app that should help us with this.
