Pros my primary challenge is maintaining visibility across our massive, multi-cloud infrastructure and legacy on-prem systems. What I like most about Dynatrace is its incredible Smartscape topology and the Davis AI engine. It doesn't just collect logs; it automatically maps out millions of dependencies in real-time, instantly showing how our microservices interact. This end-to-end observability is absolutely invaluable during complex cloud migrations, allowing us to pinpoint the exact root cause of latency or failures without manual guesswork. Cons The most significant drawback is the complex and premium pricing model, which requires very careful budget forecasting at an enterprise scale. Depending on how you set it up, it can be helpful with the trace IDs and find were an issue could be laying, but no info is stored so you see the path but not the data issue. Pros It it fast. It helps to keep logs, query them and monitor logs or services such as with HTTP monitors or alerts based on metrics. It support intelligent monitoring based on the baseline of the application. You can create dashboards such as Graphana to monitor different systems. Cons It has a high learning curve. If you are coming from matlock or other monitoring tools it will be difficult to understand and find locations. After some months of usage I have some trouble finding things. The AI assistant is useless, better use ChatGPT or Copilot for help. No monitoring of data, just logs or application endpoints. No connectivity for databases. The moment an outage occurs itimmediately detects whether the problem lies within the database or the network. This assists us to solve any logging problem before it reaches our helpdesk. It integrates well with our cloud env too. Cons Licensing is get confusing and feels expensive for small teams. All the real user performance metrics are simple to understand and easy to find on their highly interactive dashboards. Their analytics dashboard offers precise information with great infographics.
