Rocket Matter has been very easy to pick up, very intuitive to use. The manual is easy to follow, the quick sheets are great and I am especially impressed with the customer service/help desk reps. I plan to take time to dig deeper into its features. Pros I use Rocket Matter mostly for billing and time tracking purposes and it works well, but is a bit cumbersome. Cons Other programs I used in the past allowed me to set up billing templates. Rocket Matter doesn't, or I haven't seen that option. I also would like to see customizable documents/Word templates. The customer service people are very friendly - but it doesn't really matter because they rarely help fix anything - usually suggest that I could send e-mail to the suggestion box for the engineers. Cons Horrible programming. Counter-intuitive. Eg list individual clients by first name. Just added a "chat" box which covers the log in button - so you have to click chat "no" to get to log in. Many steps require 2,3, clicks where there should be 1, records time entries as of date you made entry, not date the work was done. It makes it extremely easy to capture your time and keep track of what's going on in your office. Its customer service is US-based, very knowledgeable, and very responsive. Among the key features that I like best are the bulk billing, evergreen trust accounting, and integration with Dropbox, Gmail, Evernote, and other programs. I started my own law firm right out of law school and find the resources Rocket Matter provide to be an essential element of my success. Pros I like the task management and billing features. Cons You cannot see your Tasks in the iPhone App. There should be a simpler way to print receipts for payments. The interface is user friendly, the billing is easy to input and get to clients and I like being able to access my files online when I am away from the office. Your law firm is called the "customer". " September 7, 2015 1.0 I find it hard to believe that anybody really uses this software. I put out request for anyone that uses Rocket Matter on state bar website for paid tutoring. Got one "response" - "Why did you choose that?" Clients are organized alphabetically by FIRST NAMES. Who does that? When you open new file it asks for client's name first. After you enter name is asks is client is a business or individual and frequently splatters first name as company name etc. Many functions that should be one click take 2 or 3 clicks. The invoice forms are difficult to change. The customer service people are very pleasant - but who cares - they never solve anything - and tell you that you can submit your problem to their programmers for possible inclusion in the next fix. Principal Law Practice Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Tbey did not provide the service promised" December 12, 2017 1.0 Rocket scheduled a setup for 5 days after I contracted for the service. Got fed up with the lack of service. They took money of my account a month later. I have been on hold an hour trying to get this straightened out. Pros Talked a good game. Very nice until you try to get service. Cons Promise and don’t deliver. An hour on hold is too long for support. Don’t seem to have the staff. Very frustrating dealing with this outfit. It was straightforward to use and it was also easy to fix any mistakes. Cons We had a lot of different matters, so sometimes it was difficult to sift through and select the correct one. It is good for analyzing your business but not as good for managing cases. Cons Canceling is a nightmare. It is an auto-subscription and even if you remove your credit card information, they keep it. On top of it, they make the specific person who established the account call them to cancel. Attorneys need to be in court, not calling software companies.
