### "Docstar for Record management"

great product - We have created several fillable PDF's that can be routed accordingly. Also uploaded all paper medical records making room for more offices

Pros

Easy to use - able to upload several documents and arrange as needed. All Medical Records/personnel files can be stored electronically instead of paper

Cons

No cons, we were abnle to easily scan documentes into the system and rename and process them without dificulty

### "Not used to it's potential"

To date, my experience has not been positive. I think if we had better support, we would be much happier with it. There is so much more we could be using it for, but we just have not had success setting it up to utilize it's capabilities.

Pros

Ability to store documents directly from Epicor.

Cons

Lack of documentation on how to use the software or how to customize it. Difficultly customizing the software so that users can use it.

Reason for choosing DocStar ECM

Epicor said they had built the integrations with Epicor so we didn't have to. However, when we tried to link more meta data from Epicor to the documents we were not successful and support wasn't able to help us, so that was frustrating, and we gave up trying.

Pros

Once you understand where everything is, navigation throughout the system is pretty straightforward. Form templates can have as much, or as little data fields as needed.

Cons

We didn't get the sort of consulting support you would expect from the company. Our implementation was handled in a way that resulted in functionality issues later on resulting from system upgrades.

As a leader in the mortgage space, we handle thousands of documents a month as well as invoices. Everything was processed and handled manually, causing dozens of hours of work every week, errors and delayed approvals and payments, all leading to additional expenses. Trying to find documents for audits was a tedious, costly process and storing documents in file cabinets exposes our organization to theft and loss. We met with the top 4 or 5 vendors in addition to docSTAR and docSTAR met every one of our requirements. Plus, their knowledge of accounts payable workflow and MS Dynamics GP, easy to build workflows (even complex ones), and cost effectiveness of the solution made them our top choice. We would definitely go with docSTAR again. Pros Non-technical staff can build workflows very easily, saving our IT resources time. Deep knowledge of GP was essential for an easy implementation. Our staff found eclipse easy to learn and use without a lot of training. It's very intuitive. Storing content digitally will give us a fast return on investment in labor and storage. Finding new uses for the solution all the time.

### "I like that it allows us to store and retrieve docs and remotely and wherever I work"

Well the benefits are that it assisted my sales activities, and client follow ups because I was able to work remotely as I was able to retrieve my information anywhere at anytime. I was able to share documents with my team and we were able to collaborate though we were not in office.

Pros

Before we were not able to store and manage any document remotely from anywhere we were on my tablet or phone and at times I wasn't able to use my work laptop. And also that it integrates seemlessly with ERP tool. I am able to plan better and my pipeline is affected as I can manage this also

### "Not so efficient for us, maybe more useful for others"

The thing that has made DocStar helpful at all has been the fact that our accounting team created detailed tutorials for staff use. The program crashes often and seems to randomly lose documents all the time, and its user interface isn't the friendliest.

Pros

DocStar is good for those who don't work with expense reports often as it is very baseline as far as advancements go.

Cons

DocStar doesn't offer a whole lot in terms of user-friendliness and accommodation. It feels clunky to use and it's very easy to get lost/lose your entire work if you're not careful.

Pros

We hope to take advantage of integration with Epicor and finding documents within the sales order. We hope to replace existing workflows that we have for our sales orders with custom graphics requirements.

Cons

We have been trying to implement DocStar for months. We opened a SOW to help with the install/configuration and to get initial training. Somehow the install/configuration took almost all of the hours estimated for both tasks. We are currently waiting for Rod Silvers to get back with us on this overage and then to get the initial training scheduled.

Pros

our documents were a complete mess. We'd tried keeping lots of folders and that sort of thing but it never worked out. Just kept getting too convoluted and no one could ever find what they were looking for. This really helped fix that!

Cons

feels kind of expensive for what it is, but for us it has proved worth it. If you're a small company probably not for you.

Pretty easy to use and upload copies of checks and to file when done. Everything is user friendly! I

You can’t use caps to find the clients. You have to be careful not to put the amount where the check number is

IDC looks interesting - just got it set up and still need adjustments for it to be beneficial to work correctly.

Cons

Setting up - the people we hired to set it up have taken so long we have not used it. Have not used it so the fact that they can't get it installed could mean it is not dependable?

Though the setup of the product can be rather complicated, with enough support involvement it is a workable product once everything is set up and you know where to go.

Pros

Document capture/storage and sharing functionality works well enough. Interface is workable. Nice to be able to have a centralized location for multiple offices.

Cons

The interface can be a bit overwhelming. It is tough to know exactly what fields to search and requires some extensive training to use properly. Definitely not a "pick up and go" type of product.

I have had docstar document management system for over 15 years in my townships offices and it not only saves us time, money and space it makes locating all of our document, large and small, very easy in seconds. We also use it for our A/P and locating assets within the township. docstar integrates with our GIS systems and makes it very easy to locate documents, permits and any assets with a click of a button. As I remember the overall installation plan took only a hours and the cost plan worked great with our supervisors budget.

Pros

There is nothing good about this software.

Cons

It's completely useless. PIF never delivered the solution based on this software. Up front costs were exhorbitant. PIF billed my client hundreds of thousands of dollars and NEVER DELIVERED ANYTHING in the SOW.
