Project Manager Insurance Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Excellent for managing multiple simultaneous projects/workstreams with a shared pool of resource " December 21, 2016 5.0 LP allows us to forecast and manage over one hundred projects/workstreams across diverse teams who work on a number of different projects at the same time. This would have been too difficult (even impossible) to manage and represent in traditional PM software packages. Not only this, but it also adds collaboration tools to prevent documents going missing, to keep people focused on the task at hand without having to search for old email threads, to know who's working on what, and when, and I love the way LP promotes single tasking, which improves focus, quality of work, and motivation. I'm just learning about the reporting and analytics functionality of LP, and it looks very good. If we want more reporting functionality we even have the option to export project data from LP into our MI report software for drilling down even further, but I'm not sure that we'll need to; LP's analytics appears to show some deep insights into projects and resourcing. I can't recommend LP enough - it does require some careful planning and onboarding to get it right. We spent several months building our Workspace in LP. Unless you've a small team or a small number of projects running, I wouldn't recommend launching it quickly, or you risk leaving people behind and lack of adoption. Pros Automated rescheduling of tasks and resources according to priority. Visibility as to what's really going on. Reliable project forecasting. Cons No EU-based servers for our data. USA only. Pros It does a really good job organizing and prioritizing tasks as well as forecasting when some work will be completed. The time keeping feature is nice to tie into projects. Cons Time tracking lacks in that it is firmly divided into weeks and not when payroll is run (twice a month for us). Since it goes every week, it makes it annoying to approve a week when payroll ends on the 15th and that lies on Wednesday. Then, it has to be un-approved for the rest of the week. A simple option to enter payroll dates would be helpful. Also, the app doesn’t work for time tracking and we are often out of the office. Pros Once you get use to all the features and how to get projects to flow correctly, it is very useful. Setting up dashboards is a great quick glance feature. Cons Not everyone thinks the same in terms of naming conventions. It would be nice to also include a number system to assign projects. April 11, 2019 5.0 Pros It's a great way to manage projects with a team that include multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. The way we have ours set up, it's clear who needs to be working on the project based on the Status' we use. This ensures that the right people step in at the right times and everything keeps moving along. Cons There's a decent learning curve when using this software. As a user that is part of a team, I still do not fully understand how to use the Projects tab after over a year of use. I live in the Dashboards area which I find very straightforward. The ease with which you can record your time, assign that time, set estimates against each task and monitor an overall projects progress are incredibly useful. Cons For large projects with a huge number of seperate tasks and sub-tasks, it can look quite messy when viewing the project list. There is also a widget display which shows tasks split into blocks that be dragged around for easy ordering, whilst useful the viewing of it again is not the most appealing. Review Source EW Emily W. Pros I like the resourcing/utilization tools; they've been very helpful and are very accurate. Our team relies on them for estimating project timelines across all projects. Cons Visuals of Gantt charts and timelines, Card View visual design. Always feels like there is a lot of details to consume no matter what page you're on. I haven't ever seen a tool that can pull such detailed analytics for tracking tasks. I am able to see down to the detail of how long it takes for particular teams, and individuals to accomplish tasks. I also love that I am able to give my CUSTOMERS access! This is huge. I love knowing that my customers can jump in and I can control what they see. This way we can work with their team on different tasks but they don't have to see everything we are doing. This has helped so much with Transparency. Cons Design design design. This tool has various views that are awesome, but overall, it still looks like something made in the early 2000's. Now they make up for that with the intense amount of detail they provide, but it would be nice to have a cleaner platform that doesn't make me feel like i'm using an outdated software. Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "In 'My Work' only show 'active' tasks" March 8, 2017 5.0 If a task has multiple people on it, is set to 'work in order', everyone sees the Task in their 'My Work'. But if the person(s) before you on that task have not marked themselves 'done' you should not start on your portion of the task. Can you not show these tasks until you are the active worker on the task? You could add a capability in the filters to turn this off, just in case someone is searching for tasks that they are on but are not currently with them. Pros Ease of use, intuitiveness Cons If you are on a task marked 'work in order' you see the task in 'My Work' even though you are not the current person (i.e. people before you have not marked themselves 'done'). Can you set 'My Work' to normally only show tasks where you are currently active? You could allow the user to set the filters to see all tasks they are on, in case they would like to see tasks where they are not yet active. Review Source RY Robbin Y. We just were not impressed. Pros I did like that you can track multiple jobs at the same time with multiple employees working on each of the jobs. Cons The program is not user friendly and difficult to navigate, it would take a lot of training or constant use to be able to work the program like a pro. I love the timer functionality so I don't have to try and guess how long I spent on each project. LiquidPlanner really saves our team a lot of time and allows us to plan for future projects based on ones we complete. Pros The timer functionality for tracking time. Customization of views for what you see in terms of deadlines, time remaining, etc. Cons Wish the timer functionality wouldn't lose parts of a minute, will round down unless reached that whole minute. It really works for the small company I have. Pros This software is great for managing a weekly workflow. I am able to see everything I need to get done for the week so that I can manage my time appropriately. It also is really easy to communicate with my Project Manager who assigns me tasks when I need to. I like that tasks are super customizable and can be put in whatever order I want. Cons I feel like the software could have a little more color just to keep it more fun. There's lots of gray throughout it, which is kind of boring when I have to stare at it every day. Cons Adding tasks is a pain in the ass. The "add an existing item to your time sheet" dialog box is clunky. You cant expand the window, cant scroll right. Looks like a 2 year old built it. We started off using asana and saw the need for something greater with more features. Luckily in our search we came across LP which solved a ton of our reporting needs, timeline needs, as well time management needs all into one platform, while at the same time having the ability to keep all communications on each project in one location. Any company can greatly benefit from the software and see immediate results. Pros Time Management, Reporting, Central Communication hub for each project. Cons I liked the previous layout. It does a fantastic job of allowing your to run multiple projects with tasks, sub-tasks, and assign people to those tasks. It has been one of the most robust project management programs I have used. Cons This software is not very intuitive to learn. I had to spend quite a bit of time with the software to feel like I grasped the basics, and I still don't think that I had delved very deep into the program. I think it would take more time and possibly outside training to fully understand what the program can do. Pros I love how many different things you can use this software for. We have several different services we provide that have several different processes and procedures. LP has been able to handle all of them with its many versatile features and functions. Cons There is a lot of time in setup and up keep involved. Pros The ability to see the steps in each project, who is responsible, where they are at with the work and how the timelines are being met. Cons Sometimes setting up projects takes a bit of time. The templates do help though so getting those in place has been a time saver.
