I would recommend this to people that work a lot together. in other words if you are in a business. Cons There is a pretty big learning curve when it comes to this, I really hope that they can make it more user friendly so that you don't have to spend a bit just learning how things work. LiquidPlanner offers my organization a truly out-of-the-box scalable solution that is highly adaptive and intuitive to the way my organization's PMO is developed and to the way we manage projects across our highly diverse lines of business. LiquidPlanner is our one-stop-shop for everything project related as well as every other administrative or sales related task across our enterprise. Whether it is storing Project Artifacts, costing and budgeting projects or internal development cycles, identifying risk or periods of time where a staff augmentation would be necessary or just to have status updates via comments, LiquidPlanner covers all bases. My background is both from a PMBOK-aligned infrastructure Project Manager and a Scrum Coach for an applications development shop - and LiquidPlanner successfully caters to those methodologies without having to "fake the funk" or bend our processes to fit in the tool. The success of our PMO and of all of our projects is in no small part thanks to LiquidPlanner. November 5, 2020 5.0 Over all I would say my experience with LiquidPlanner is good, though the learning curve was REALLY steep. Pros Liquid planner gives me a constant way to track and manage my 50+ projects. It also allows me to coordinate what needs to be completed with my design, development, and writing team. It's such a pain to use that our planning sessions consist of the PM for the team working in LP with all the engineers watching through screencasting because it is so difficult to give everyone else the same view of the work. Pros LP has a pretty impressive solver given who's working on what and how long each thing is going to take. I enjoy watching someone hit the recalculate button and watching it redraw the gantt view. Cons Every action including reading a task, expanding a folder of tasks, and unexpanding a folder takes several seconds of loading. Review Source DK Dave K. It needs and issues section to track issues either at the task level or project level. Time entry major issue, if someone makes a mistake in entering time it takes it away from the estimated time but when corrected it does not put it back. The time issue of not putting back the incorrect time causes extra work because you now need to go back and correct the estimated time as well. Only people with extensive training and frequent use understand it. -Too hierarchal for our type of work (we work in simultaneous work streams), so a lot of the mandatory features are difficult (i.e. flags/flames, priority, etc.) -Custom fields to calculate specific items on the platform. December 13, 2018 4.0 So far this has been a tremendous improvement over the program we were using previously. We'd love to see LiquidPlanner take our feedback and make some improvements, but it's been really simple to use and we've actually had very fast adoption from our overall team. Pros Love the flexibility and ease of use. This is a very intuitive program and my team was able to pick it up relatively quickly. We especially love the collaboration features and have found it really cuts down on the emails, which is a serious bonus! Cons There is some missing functionality in just a few areas that could be solved with allowing more options. For example, the ability to chose if a resource marked on overdrive is effected by an event. Another example is allowing more column options on the "My Work" view. Review Source AR Andrew R. Tracking hours based on project / client is very easy, as is project planning. It's very quick to see what is currently being worked on, and what tasks are still outstanding. The communication piece is well done on how it tracks the conversations. Cons Timeline view is tough to read when you have multiple people / projects running all at once. Cons Difficult to get and indication of hours left on a task if you use casual labor. We want to book hours worked to individual people. Cons The only thing I don't like about the software is the timesheet area. Liquid Planner can do this for us. There are things that can be better like emails to customers when tasks are finished but in total LP is doing a great job. Pros The easy way to change priority on projects and analyze data. Cons I think that the search engine could be better. It's difficult to find tasks when you look for something done in the history. Pros Find Liquid Planner extremely easy to use. Within just a few hours of owning Liquid Planner I had already been able to familiarise myself with it's intuitive and well presented interface. The software is also easy to maintain with regular automatic updates. Cons Unfortunately Liquid Planner offers little to no customisation options when it comes to the look and feel of the platform. " December 14, 2018 4.0 My team moved from using Brightworks in SharePoint and synching to a MS project plan. We have found this to be a significant improvement due to its ease of use, ability to add comments through email, and overall being much more user friendly. Pros Liquid Planner is easy to learn and becomes intuitive in a short period of time. My team runs multiple projects and the tool has helped us to coordinate shared resources effectively. We are also less reliant on email as we now communicate with stakeholders through LP in the comments section. Cons Building and editing a schedule in LP is less efficient compared to working in MS Project.
