Availability to store documents remotely. Pros You access information anywhere that you have an internet connection. Ease of Use. Compatible with multiple software and operating systems. Cons Glitchy at best. It gives lots of error message. Some valid, some not. Site tends to go down during periods of heavy traffic. Instead of providing an efficient means of accomplishing this, the glitches in the software and the inability of the customer service team to assist me with these problems has very seriously negatively impacted my business. I would strongly recommend NOT buying this software. Pros If the software functioned as it should, it would be a decent document management software. Cons Problems with saving files on the server as opposed to the desktop of the user. Customer service, although friendly, was/is unable to correct the problem and does not respond in a timely manner. The videos were useful guides but the help provided by Kerry was invaluable. Pros The ability to move files easily between different folders and clients and to bring documents into the folders using drag and drop or to save direct. File structures are easy to amend and customise for each client from the standard templates. Everything linked to the cloud storage Excellent value for money Cons it would be good if documents produced by the TaxCalc programs could be transferred direct to the related client folder, especially signed documents from signable. Pros We're able to upload files and go back to them even years back and review the files. We can upload using our mobile device as well as the desktop. Cons I had a better turn out with uploading my files to smart vault when I used my mobile device. For some reason using my desktop wouldn't allow me to upload anything. It is easy to use. Our treasure administrator loads all the proposed invoices and documents to the site. Then we can easily access the info and vote on payment. Pros Smart vault allows me to share tax and other sensitive documents with my clients securely. I love that it provides storage for me and allows me to give access to my clients. It eliminates the phone calls requesting new tax copies when my clients can access their client copy returns at their convenience. Cons We had some difficulty with initial set-up. Pros Printing tax returns to SmartVault from our tax software is our favorite feature. We also like that we can print to SmartVault straight from our pdf editor. We have also setup a drive for SmartVault so we can open our client files just like any others. The desktop app makes it easy to search clients & share files with them if needed. Cons The website app is harder to search & it lacks the ease of use that the desktop app has. Files can be uploaded or dragged into each file on SmartVault. Pros SmartVault is extremely user friendly, sets up your files in a very organized manner and makes it easy to share between accountant and his/her clients.
