It's great! From being able to track sources of sales, to metrics review in platform. To to inventory management, to check out pages. It's all there and it's all great.

Pros

Shopify is a must-have for any small business. Even medium size businesses. It definitely tends to get expensive, but it is worth it with all of the robust features and functionality contained in it.

Cons

At times it can be a little buggy and slow when faced with really long lists of skus. Pages can tend to bog down, but other than that it's a fairly smooth tool.

Overall, Shopify has been a very solid platform for running an ecommerce business. It handles the core infrastructure well and gives us the flexibility to adapt the store as our needs evolve. There are some limitations and additional costs as operations become more complex, but the reliability, integrations, and scalability make it a strong solution overall.

Pros

Shopify makes it relatively simple to build, manage, and scale an ecommerce business without requiring a lot of technical knowledge. The platform is reliable, the admin interface is straightforward, and the large ecosystem of apps and integrations makes it easy to add functionality as the business grows

Cons

The biggest downside is that costs can add up quickly once you start relying on multiple third-party apps for more advanced functionality. Some features that feel like they should be native to the platform require an additional subscription or custom development.

Shopify strikes the perfect balance between e-commerce performance and creative freedom. It is my preferred platform for transforming a visual brand identity into an engaging online shopping experience.

Pros

Managing media assets, integrating high-definition photo galleries, and customizing user experiences feel completely seamless without requiring hours of custom coding.

Cons

Total operational costs can scale fast when adding multiple third-party app subscriptions essential for design and marketing.

Amazing product, so easy to use even for a beginner like me, it explains everything step-by-step! Worth trying it.

Pros

I was unsure the first time I was opening a website of my own but Shopify made everything so much easy, intuitive that I manually got the hang of it. When first opening my online store I got to see how to upload the products and the various payment options and procedures, honestly if you don't know where to start it's the best product ever to start selling!

Cons

My experience was very pleasing so I have nothing to complain about Shopify, valuable product that I would surely recommend.

Does what we need it to do for direct sales without requiring a dedicated tech team. Not built for complex B2B pricing but handles our consumer-facing side well enough. ROI is there if you stick to standard features and don't go app-crazy. Better options exist if you're mainly wholesale, but for mixed operations it gets the job done.

Pros

We managed to get our sporting goods catalogue up and running in about two weeks. That’s a big help when you’re pushing to hit quarterly targets. The payment gateway options work great for our Indonesian market, too, customers can use their local methods without us having to build out any custom integrations. Plus, syncing our inventory between the physical showroom and the online store has finally cut down on those awkward oversell situations that used to kill our deals.

Cons

Monthly fees add up quick once you factor in the apps you actually need to run a proper B2B operation. The discount code system is pretty basic - we can't do the tiered pricing structures our bulk buyers expect without workarounds. Customer support responds but rarely understands wholesale scenarios.

My overall experience, I guess I would say if genuinely fair. The system worked as it is supposed to, and integrating the online payments was the best part.

Pros

Shopify is a good system for those who want to do-it-yourself. It allows for relative easy website creation and payment integration for your online store.

Cons

I don't like that we didn't have full access to the control panel/html for seo updating and custom updating as much as we wanted. Also, it is simply another Saas platform, where you have to pay Forever and you will never ever own the software. In today's world, build-it and own-it is the best.

Overall, my experience with Shopify has been very positive. The platform has provided a reliable and scalable foundation for growing my business, making it easy to manage products, process orders, and reach customers through multiple sales channels. The user interface is intuitive, which allowed me to get my store up and running quickly without needing extensive technical knowledge. As my business has grown, Shopify has continued to meet my needs through its extensive app ecosystem, customization options, and integrations with marketing and social media platforms. The platform is consistently updated with new features and improvements, helping merchants stay competitive in an evolving e-commerce landscape. While there are some additional costs associated with premium apps and advanced features, the overall value, reliability, and ease of use make Shopify a platform I would confidently recommend to other entrepreneurs and growing brands.

Pros

What I like most about Shopify is how easy it is to launch and manage an online store, even without extensive technical knowledge. The platform provides everything needed to run an e-commerce business in one place, including website hosting, product management, payment processing, shipping integrations, and marketing tools. As a growing brand, I appreciate the wide range of themes and apps available, which make it easy to customize the store and add new functionality as the business expands. Shopify also integrates seamlessly with social media platforms and sales channels, allowing us to reach customers wherever they shop. Another major advantage is reliability. Shopify handles security, updates, and performance behind the scenes, so I can focus on growing my business rather than maintaining the website. The user-friendly dashboard, mobile app, and detailed analytics make day-to-day operations straightforward and efficient.

Cons

While Shopify is an excellent platform overall, one of the main drawbacks is that costs can add up as your business grows. In addition to the monthly subscription, many advanced features require paid apps, which can significantly increase operating expenses over time. I also found that some customizations require knowledge of Shopify's Liquid coding language or the help of a developer, particularly when making more advanced changes to themes and functionality. While the platform is very user-friendly for everyday tasks, there can be limitations when trying to create highly customized experiences without technical expertise. Another minor frustration is that certain features and reports are only available on higher-tier plans, which can make it difficult for smaller businesses to access the tools they need without upgrading.

Pros

When we launched our apparel and merchandise store themed around our flagship shows, Shopify was the obvious choice. The admin interface is clean, highly robust, and the built-in marketing reports allow me to track the performance of our advertising campaigns in real time.

Cons

In addition to the monthly fee, Shopify takes transaction fees on every sale unless you use their proprietary payment gateway.

At Opklopper, we work with Shopify and Shopify Plus for ambitious D2C, B2B and hybrid commerce brands in the Netherlands and Belgium. We use Shopify for new webshop builds, redesigns, replatforming projects, migrations and ongoing webshop optimization. Our experience is that Shopify gives growing brands a reliable foundation for product management, checkout, payments, shipping, content, tracking, apps, integrations and international growth. It is especially strong when a brand wants to move away from a less flexible platform and needs a more scalable, manageable and conversion-focused commerce setup. Shopify works best when it is implemented with the right strategy. For serious brands, the value is not only in the platform itself, but in how the storefront, UX/UI, product structure, data, redirects, tracking, integrations and customer journey are set up. Overall, Shopify is one of the strongest e-commerce platforms we work with for brands that want to grow professionally online. It is a strong fit for new builds, redesigns and replatforming projects where scalability, usability, performance, conversion and ongoing optimization matter.

Pros

As an e-commerce agency and Shopify Plus Partner, Opklopper uses Shopify for professional online store builds, redesigns, replatforming projects and ongoing optimization. What we like most is that Shopify combines ease of use for merchants with the flexibility needed for serious e-commerce growth. Shopify works well for D2C, B2B and hybrid commerce brands that need a scalable platform for product management, checkout, payments, shipping, international commerce, apps, integrations, UX/UI improvements and CRO.

Cons

Shopify is not always the cheapest option, and advanced setups require proper planning. B2B logic, ERP/PIM/POS integrations, international markets, tracking, redirects, product structure and custom UX/UI should not be treated as a simple plug-and-play setup. To get the best result, Shopify needs a clear strategy, a solid implementation partner and ongoing optimization.

Pros

Shopify is the Rolls-Royce of platforms for deploying sales funnels quickly. The simplicity with which tracking pixels (Meta, Google, TikTok) can be connected and retargeting campaigns launched is a major asset for my work.

Cons

Reliance on the app ecosystem quickly becomes expensive. advanced source code customization requires mastering its proprietary language (Liquid).
