### "The best Ecommerce Platform hands down."

February 6, 2026

5.0

We have used magento ,volusion and cube cart. After switching to shopify I can say confidently that it is the best platform to build a site on. Building a website and combining all the apps and functionality can be very daunting. On shopify - everything is right in front of you, and presented in a way that is very much like the apple app store. You can really do everything yourself with little training or help.

Pros

one stop shop for hosting an ecommerce store. Everything packaged into one price, with varying levels of support available from Shopify. Instead of having hosting somewhere, POS somewhere else and website on a different platform - this allows us complete peace of mind.

Cons

Would be nice if there was a service level between my plan and the shopify plus plan. We definitely have identified features within the Shopify Plus plan that we would like to use but the total price tag doesnt make sense for us.

Wanted a more customizable store builder. Even with the free apps on shopify theme store - the result is a store that looks professionally built. We wanted more customization also with apps and a la carte functions we could add ourselves.

### "The Best of The Best For eCommerce Websites "

February 11, 2026

5.0

It's the best source for eCommerce website building. I have researched all the major eCommerce websites for comparison and believe Shopify is the best. There are many instructions that make navigation easy. I found it easy to build a beautiful website. Customer service is great if there are any problems. There are many templates that target specific business models. It also provides a user-friendly, drag-and-drop editor with no coding. I like the secure payment processing, inventory management, and marketing tools.

Pros

It offers an easy means of creating a complete eCommerce website for all sizes of business. I see it as the Cadillac of business website building. Shopify has a large following that is helpful for getting traffic.

Cons

It is expensive and offers more than what I need to use. Options are needed for the best use, however many of them cost more money.

Alternatives considered

[Hostinger](https://www.capterra.com/p/218357/Hostinger/)

Reason for choosing Shopify

It offers room to grow and more toos. It also offers eCommerce solutions aside from their own, such a Woocommerce. However, Hostinger is good and I use that product as well for smaller businesses.

### "Shopify is my choice"

December 3, 2025

5.0

Overall, Shopify is very popular and it has great features. The more you use it the easier it is to navigate and that’s a big deal for my customers as well. So far so good.

Pros

For the most part Shopify is easy to use. It initially just takes some getting use to. I like the benefit of it offering 3 months at $1.00 for a small business that helps out a lot. I also like how everything is included you don’t have to use a third party if you don’t choose. Which makes it more convenient.

Cons

I’ve used Shopify previously and I liked how it allowed me to be on a plan at 5.00 a month without having to build a big website. When I tried to reopen it, it wouldn’t provide that plan again and that was very easy and more convenient for me as far as cost.

### "Strong eCommerce platform with reliable NetSuite integration"

April 24, 2026

5.0

Overall, our experience has been positive. Shopify handles the front-end eCommerce side really well, and with the NetSuite integration through Celigo, we’ve been able to streamline backend operations like order syncing and inventory updates. There were some initial challenges during setup and mapping, but once stabilized, it’s been quite reliable. It’s a good option if you want something scalable without building everything from scratch.

Pros

Shopify is very easy to use and quick to set up compared to other eCommerce platforms. The UI is clean, and managing products, orders, and payments is pretty straightforward. What worked really well for us is how smoothly it integrates with other systems — we’re using it with NetSuite via Celigo, and that has helped automate a lot of our order and customer data flow. It saves a lot of manual work once everything is set up properly. Also, the app ecosystem is quite strong if you need extra features.

Cons

Costs can increase quite a bit over time, especially with paid apps and transaction fees. While the basics are easy, more advanced customization isn’t very straightforward and often needs developer support. From an integration perspective, maintaining workflows via Celigo sometimes needs monitoring, especially when there are sync errors or data mismatches.

### "The GOAT of e-commerce platforms. "

November 13, 2025

5.0

I've been using shopify since 2023 and it's been really good for me, I can sell my products on it, send email to my clients, and even get funds from them!

Pros

I like that it is a very broad and complete platform to set up your e-commerce and start making money online, it offers different ways for your clients to pay and purchase from you and it incorporates marketing tools within the monthly fee, so you don't have to use different platforms.

Cons

It lacks flexibility for templates or website customizations, I wish I could edit easier the template and add sections more freely.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Shopify

### "Easy to Use and Reliable"

April 5, 2026

5.0

my experience with Shopify has been really positive. It’s a solid platform for building and managing an online store, and it handles payments smoothly, which takes a lot of stress off. The ease of use and reliable customer support make it beginner-friendly, but it’s also scalable if your business grows. The only real drawback is the pricing, but if you’re making consistent sales, it’s worth it

Pros

Shopify is easy it is to use, even if you’re not super techsavvy. The website process is very straightforward, and you can get a store up and running pretty quickly. There are a lot of templates to choose from, and they look professional without needing much customization. I also liked the variety of payment options—it makes it simple for customers to check out, which is huge for conversions. I’ve been able to reach someone through chat pretty easily when I needed help.

Cons

biggest downside is the cost. Between the monthly subscription, transaction fees, and paid apps, it can get expensive fast, especially if you’re just starting out.

### "Easy to use store builder with a few pricey add‑ons"

April 15, 2026

4.0

Overall my experience with Shopify has been really good. I used it for a small online store and it made the whole process simple, from adding products to handling payments. It’s beginner‑friendly but still powerful enough when you want to grow. There are small annoyances like app costs and limited free customization, but nothing that stopped me from running the store. For anyone who wants to start selling online without dealing with complicated setups, Shopify works well and feels reliable.

Pros

What I like most about Shopify is how easy it is to set up a store even if you’re not super technical. I tried it for a small side project and honestly the whole setup took less time than I expected. The themes look clean and professional, and editing them is simple. Payments are smooth too, customers don’t get stuck or confused. I also like the app store because I can add features without doing coding. The dashboard is clear and I can track orders, traffic and sales without digging around.

Cons

Some apps get expensive fast, and a few features that should be basic are locked behind paid apps. Customizing themes beyond the simple stuff can get tricky unless you know Liquid or CSS. The reporting is okay but not great unless you pay for higher plans. Also sometimes the store feels a bit slow when too many apps are installed. Customer support is helpful but wait times can be long during busy hours. Not huge issues but they add up when you’re trying to run things smoothly.

### "Shopify is probably the best ecommerce platform "

April 27, 2026

5.0

I like Shopify! It made operating easy. It took away all worries from me about how to operate a website.

Pros

It’s easy to use, the platform has everything you need for an E-commerce website and it’s easy enough for people who are not tech savvy to learn and use

Cons

Sometimes it’s hard to find a feather that you are looking for and the AI support is not always helpful, and it takes some time to get a real person support

### "Shopify is a Solid Performer"

March 1, 2026

4.0

I enjoy using Shopify, it does, everything I need it to do, and I trust the service with my small business needs.

Pros

Shopify setup is smooth and user friendly. Anyone can start selling practically anything online with just a bit of time.

Cons

Shopify is not cheap, and while the quality of the service is high, your monthly fee plus card fees can really bite into your overall sales profit.

### "Una solución muy sólida para ecommerce, con costes a tener en cuenta al escalar"

May 4, 2026

4.0

### "Tough to beat!"

January 5, 2026

5.0

There is no other e-comm provider platform that I would rather use. If I was told tomorrow that we were tranisitioning to another provider, then I would quit tomorrow, too.

Pros

I have used Shopify Plus for the last 3.5 years following a role that used Square. Shopify is the Rolls Royce of e-comm platforms (or maybe, Rolls Royce is the Shopify of cars?). Shopify integrates with every possible thing, has a robust app store, and is super easy to use. Their support is always on and always helpful, too.

Cons

Almost all of the reporting is great, but some of the reports/info is hard to gather. For example, Shopify support told me to use Google Analytics for site traffic data rather than the data native to Shopify.

### "no wonder most ecommerce runs on shopify"

September 20, 2025

5.0

i've been impressed by how capable shopify has been for someone with little to no web development or programming skills. like any SAAS worth it's value, some features you want are hidden behind paywalls, but it is flexible enough that there is almost always a way around it if you are creative, or it is inexpensive via 3rd party apps

Pros

shopify has been very easy for me to stand up a web store on short notice. i have a modicum of coding experience, but documentation is widely available and has allowed me to unlock a TON of value from the package we signed up for

Cons

there are some shortfalls of the API when it comes to managing inventory- the API only updates when available qty changes, not when reserved or committed qty changes. it is also difficult to split and combine orders

### "E-commerce Store Creator that Y’all Need to Comprehend "

August 26, 2025

4.0

From the initial setup, it was easy to create and manage our accounting online store with the aid of Shopify.

Pros

Shopify allocates features that enables us to sell our tax and accounting services across multiple channels mainly social media. In addition, Shopify is highly scalable which offers room for processing of tons of orders. Finally, Shopify offers tools for website creation or online stores without involving website developers. Selling through Shopify eradicate need for holding inventories and it support a wide array of payment options.

Cons

I slightly dislike that Shopify lack email hosting service even though it supports website creation.

### "Used Shopify for a decade, overall very disappointed"

July 29, 2025

1.0

After 11 years of use, overall very disappointed with Shopify. And don;'t be fooled that if you just upgrade, the offering will be better: we tried plus (it was underwhelming to say the least, and a complete rip off on price; if I recall correctly, part of the contract you have to sign included not telling others how much it costs you, which says quite a lot....). It was a few years ago, and we wanted a B2B online store, but despite the price tag, back then their B2B offering didn't even have payment terms.. (pay on 30 days), among a ton of other issues (like not being able to have a different billing address and shipping address for wholesale orders). Turned out we were basically paying a lot of money to be guinea pigs.. The wider issue we have seen, as a difference from the early years we used Shopify to now is that the support has become incredibly poor. You can be paying them a lot of money each year, but doesn't mean you'll be able to speak to someone, or should expect a reply within 48 hours when you finally get through... Let alone the issue being sorted promptly, and efficiently. And time and time again, when we have an issue, their support process seems a mess, to the extent that you get real fear and anxiety that you are so reliant on them for your online shop/business.

Pros

The up time of the online shop, and basic foundations of Shopify have been good, one of the few redeeming features; our website is rarely not working, and the payments basically always seem to work. Useful to connect to POS too.

Cons

The support has become unbelievably bad, even if you are paying them hundreds of pounds every month, you now have to convince an Ai chatbot to let you speak to a human. And even then, how poor the support you get really leaves you worrying that you are trusting this company with your business... We recently had to rest a user account, after 4 days of jumping through hoops to try and get Shopify support to fix it, they reset the wrong account (my admin account), and in the end, after 5 days of no access to our own account, I had to track down a former employee, now in a different country, to get a code to access the account. And no matter how useless the support, if you try and ask for any money back, from the substantial sums you are paying them, it seems the support are trained to completely ignore you, pretend the question doesn't exist. Shopify also seem to be constantly 'updating' things, which actually seems to mean removing support or functionality, over-simplifying things. And then constantly telling you 'shopify can't do that', or 'can't do that anymore' so you need to 'use an app'. So you end up using loads of apps, and any time something goes wrong, shopify just says 'not our problem, you need to speak with the apps support...'. And more and more we are hearing from the App's support that Shopify is stopping them doing things, removing functionality etc.

### "A must have!!!"

May 12, 2026

5.0

It is simply a great product and I would suggest it as a "need to have" business tool to any ecommerce outfit, whatever the size. The support provided by Shopify as well is a "breath of fresh air" as they really work with you to grow your business and optimise your offering.

Pros

The ease of use and integration with existing systems if highly beneficial. The ease with which you are able to track and process online orders is also exceptional. Training staff to use the system is incredibly easy and full proof. The value of the system is beyond all expectations and has become a vital asset for ongoing workflows. It is seamless in the processing of various payment types and is easy to use if refunds are necessary. It is a must have!!

Cons

I have not experienced any down side to using Shopify. It is easy to use, versatile and focussed to provide the best possible customer experience possible. It was not necessary to utilise the website creation options but Shopify understands the retail space so vividly that the roll out was slick and effortless.

### "Easy to set up and convenient for tracking orders."

March 16, 2026

4.0

Overall, it works well. It offers extensive integration capabilities across various areas, and the integration with BC, in particular, makes ERP management much more convenient for us.

Pros

The product sales and integrated inventory management system is extremely powerful, offering comprehensive support for product management, inventory management, warehouse management, discount systems, user management, and more.

Cons

We rely heavily on this platform for promoting and selling our products. As a result, it makes managing our inventory and controlling discounts and promotions very convenient. However, the subscription fees and commission rates are somewhat high, which significantly increases the cost of goods; merchants must pay both the subscription fee and a commission on product sales.

Shopify has always exceeded my expectations. Easy, fast, intuitive, lots of free apps to support the growth of your online shop. My experience has always been pleasant.

Pros

Shopify's interface is the easiest platform I have work with. A new web designer or any person who has no experience designing websites can easily create websites in minutes. This is what I like the most about Shopify.

Cons

### "Stop looking. Shopify is your answer."

July 8, 2025

5.0

Overall, I have to highly recommend Shopify. Like many software options today, there certainly are other options and most cheaper than Shopify. However, you'd be mistaken if you think spending less on arguably the most important toll for your ecommerce business is going to save you anything.

Pros

I think the user-friendliness of this is off the charts amazing, but the best feature for my user experience was Shopify's ability to integrate with my accounting and CRM and offer a variety of apps to meet whatever consumer interaction, data collection, or checkout function you could possibly need.

Cons

I used and interacted with a variety of apps. At least for me, it was at times difficult to determine where an error was coming from (whether it was Shopify, the app, or Quickbooks). Some problems take some manual intervention, but I'm thankful the Shopify service team was there to help fix it up.

As a Language Instructor, it is important to reach more students online. I sell our digital study guides with it and maintain course enrollments. It is a very strong engine of e-commerce, however the monthly prices grow rapidly.

Pros

The usability of the site in terms of creating a website is incredible as our non-technical teaching staff have been able to open storefronts to our online language courses and are able to effortlessly take tuition in a variety of payment options.

Cons

The basic subscription and basic premium apps is not a good value to a small tutoring centre and having to use their outsourced call and chat services can be painstakingly slow when something important in the payment gateway breaks down.

Pros

Shopify offers a great working ecommerce shop for businesses. Overall, my experience with Shopify has been positive. As someone who has little to no code experience, I was able to set up my shop all by myself and configure all the integrations. I've used several other e-commerce platforms and cannot say the same about their ease of use.

Pros

Shopify is one of the easiest shop platforms I've used. Setup was very simple and they offer integrations with all of my marketing stack.

Cons

Shopify fees are probably one of my only complaints, although you pay for what you get. The only other "con" I would say is that it seems they are moving away from real-life agents and starting to use AI chatbots for inquiries, which can be frustrating at times.

May 16, 2025

A good product - especially for growing ecommerce brands. Fees are a bit steep as you scale, but that's to be expected as a business trying to make money.

Pros

General customizability is definitely a nice feature to have so that each store doesn't look like a template of the last. A lot of these are included in lower tier plans without the need for extra cost.

Cons

There are a LOT of aspects within Shopify which is both good and bad. It allows for the ability to highly customize your shop, but can be daunting and/or difficult to implement without external assistance.
