Like many software options today, there certainly are other options and most cheaper than Shopify. However, you'd be mistaken if you think spending less on arguably the most important toll for your ecommerce business is going to save you anything. Pros I think the user-friendliness of this is off the charts amazing, but the best feature for my user experience was Shopify's ability to integrate with my accounting and CRM and offer a variety of apps to meet whatever consumer interaction, data collection, or checkout function you could possibly need. Cons I used and interacted with a variety of apps. At least for me, it was at times difficult to determine where an error was coming from (whether it was Shopify, the app, or Quickbooks). Some problems take some manual intervention, but I'm thankful the Shopify service team was there to help fix it up. Review Source DD Dee D. Super easy to create and more importantly manage an eCommerce site. Cons Main issue is the lack of control over checkout and customer accounts. I know you can get a bit more with plus but the price jump is crazy. I sell our hotel merchandise with the help of this. It is very cheap but frustrating in terms of the charges. Pros The site building programs enable us to easily establish a store to sell our gift cards and local products without having to know any form of code. Cons The external gateways are costly in terms of transaction fees and slow to address urgent payment sync problems. After validate the idea you can decide if you want to continue paying the fees or you prefer to create something in another platform to save the fees. Pros Much more easy than create a woocommerce and you can start invoicing with a very good user experience from the first day. Cons Very difficult to customize some parts without expert knowledge and the language to develop (liquid) it’s no so popular so it’s more difficult to create plugins or apps than other more popular platforms. I find customer service knowledgeable, and pretty much available. I feel loyal to shopify. Pros I like the payment options, the payment. I can't really say anything about value for money because I have always had shopify. I will say that I don't feel bad about it, I just don't have a comparison. Generally, I find shopify easy to use. Cons I find the themes are difficult. - purchased. There are some that I don't think shopify should have listed. I purchased an expensive one that had no customer service, to email or call. It was expensive and very complicated. I would like to be able to make more than one discount at any time. Pros As the leading platform in e-commerce, there was a ton of really accessible support and easy to set up systems. We used it primarily for on demand merch but it created a very simple web page and had widely accessible payment options. The ability to take payment via tap on the device is also very impressive and useful for pop-ups or mobile sales. Cons Sometimes the integrations with third-party partners were a little bit difficult to manage, and it was somewhat limiting in terms of matching the branding of our other media without expensive outside developers. I went from manually typing in orders on behalf of customers, to orders being automatically ingested, which frees up my time immensely. Pros I love that Shopify can easily integrate into our companies POS system. As a 3PL, it is important that we can easily ingest orders and get them out the door as quickly as possible for our clients. Cons I really don't have any complaints about Shopify. I will say it does take a bit of a tech-savvy user to use it, so maybe if anything, it could be slightly more user friendly. The system worked as it is supposed to, and integrating the online payments was the best part. Pros Shopify is a good system for those who want to do-it-yourself. It allows for relative easy website creation and payment integration for your online store. Cons I don't like that we didn't have full access to the control panel/html for seo updating and custom updating as much as we wanted. A lot of these are included in lower tier plans without the need for extra cost. Cons There are a LOT of aspects within Shopify which is both good and bad. Would be nice to keep cost down ..but that’s my only possible concern.
