It’s easy to use, reliable, and provides everything needed to run an online store, though costs can add up over time. Pros Shopify is very user-friendly and makes it easy to set up and manage an online store, even without technical experience. I invested a significant amount of time in my e-store, but unfortunately, I didn't generate any sales before my free trial ended. I had hoped to at least make enough to cover the store fees. Pros I was able to build an e-store myself, even though I don't know how to code. The platform was highly customizable, and integrating other software was user-friendly. Cons It took a considerable amount of time to bring my vision to life on the screen. Prior digital marketing skills are highly recommended; otherwise, you may end up spending more than you earn. Pros Easily get a store up and running in only minutes if you use a pre-made template! I really like the templates that can be customized but they get a majority of the styling and page build out done for you. Definitely worth the cost. Cons The templates and the extension developed but 3rd parties are not reliable. Some of the extensions will work great and then start glitching out of nowhere and no one is able to help. Its too risky! Shows greatly via online store 2.0 integrations Cons Pricing. Everything costs. Although worth it due to the convenience factor, everything costs. Some apps are offering the same services but not in comparison in price. Not necessarily Shopify’s fault per sé, but more so being meticulous where apps (for example in rewards), highlight features and business benefits before throwing out some astronomical prices. Kindly note, not all rewards apps for example are like this, but when browsing, definitely do your research. Pros it’s really easy for a beginner to get set up Cons The razor blade model where every feature has to be an add-on app. It’s improved quite a bit over the years, but it’s still a pain. The ability to make real-time changes to an order or to an item on the site is extremely useful. Pros Shopify is very intuitive and fast! Since we moved to this platform, we’ve noticed the difference. Both the website and our back end are quicker and more user-friendly, making our experience and the customer’s much more pleasant. Cons The only downside I’m noticing at the moment is that Shopify isn’t able to fully communicate with our shipping service, ShippyPro. The built in CRM for customers and even email marketing is great. We can setup shopify sites for a client and it's easy enough for them to manage on their own after. Pros Shopify is great and easy to mange for our clients. They are super easy to use app and the e-commerce features are expansive. Cons The cost tend to be higher than if using something else like woocommerce for example. Also the customization (unless your using paid monthly apps) tend to be lower than wordpress and their plugins. All of my experiences with Shopify have been great and I think it’s a well built product that suits its purpose very well! Pros It provides everything we need for both our brick-and-mortar retail location plus our online store. The integration is seamless, it’s easy to use, and support is always helpful when needed (but it very rarely needed because of how well the software is designed). Secondly very few options for a startup that make sense financially. We didn’t see success on our top products with Shopify but did / do with another platform.
