Pros Its very easy to use and get up is super quick to get up and going with no experience Cons You have to have an app for everything it seems like. There are great out of the box features but seems like I constantly have to visit the app store. Now chat boxes take hours with no resolutions. Just need to resolve the small issue of them holding our money and not paying it out to us. But the notice they gave us before withholding our payouts. Less then 1 business days. Im on day 4 of trying to get this resolved. Choose another site. Pros Customer service before they got rid of the ability to talk to someone. March 5, 2025 4.0 Overall, shopify is very good if you're starting a new business. It makes it easy for you to manage all aspects of your business and keep track of your inventory. It's super easy to setup too, so it can be done by anyone. Customer support is super, SUPER helpful. Pros Shopify gives you a lot of apps you can use for your online store that can be very, VERY helpful for some. These apps are useful for inventory management, shipping data and marketing methods. You can also keep track of your store wherever you go as it is optimized for use on mobile phones. Customer support is very helpful. They're always available and I would say customer support is one of the reasons why I kept my store on shopify Cons Monthly subscriptions are a bit overpriced and if you use too much apps in your store, some come with additional costs. November 5, 2024 5.0 Great my customers trust shopify and the peace of mind the checkout gives me is priceless. Pros In my ecommerce ownership of 7 years I find shopify has the best customer service and secure checkout that I have used. I can maintain it myself build new themes try them out first and add and remove apps easily. Cons The traffic to my site has been hard to build since I left woo commerce. It went live to the public in September 2024. So, it took us nine months to get everything in order the way we wanted to have it. Honestly I think that is a fair amount of time. I am coming from having some web experience but I had never done a project like this before. If I was to do it again, it could be done in half the time. It just seemed like every day there was something new to learn. Would 100% use Shopify for future projects, and would recommend them to others, especially beginners who want a beautiful finished product and an easy to learn system. Pros After much deliberation of which online platform to use for our online store, we settled on Shopify for its user-friendliness. I am not an expert, yet I was able to set up a successful, beautiful online store with nearly 1,000 products. While I enjoy Shopify's chat support, we also tag teamed with a Shopify Expert to do some coding for us. Their chat support could help with most non-code related issues though, which was very appreciated. Cons One thing we have found difficult about Shopify is the amount of apps you need to install in order to have your site running with all the features you would want. We bought a pretty extensive theme, but are still using apps for features such as a wishlist, a quick reorder option in the "account" page for return patients, adding expiration dates to products, etc. They are not all expensive but together, they add up. Another downside for us is we sell vitamins and supplements which are on Shopify Payments restricted list, so we needed to find a third party processor. With this processor, Shopify charges us additional percentage, on top of what we pay the third party processor, simply because we are not using their payments system. The additional cost has been something we have to weigh out and consider, but it has been worth it to be able to bring our business of 20+ years to the online market. Once we built our online store on Shopify we decided to rebuild our entire site on Shopify too because it looks so nice and updated, and was so easy to learn to use. Review Source AA Afsheen A. October 23, 2024 5.0 Overall it has been positive, and I do believe one of the best options out there for ecommerce businesses. Pros After trying a couple of different platforms, I have found Shopify to be the most robust and customizable and very accessible for small businesses. Cons Unfortunately, there are a lot of moving pieces, and it can be overwhelming for an entrepreneur to try and navigate their platform for the first time. Although the building of the website is direct, a lot of common-sense items seem to be missing and that means needing to either pay for an app to add on the needed features or needing to pay to have someone code it into the backend.
