However, at times, the website does glitch and becomes unaccessible. I often received error messages. Editing the website has been challenging, as the backend layout is not user friendly. Even the assistance by Google or Youtube is not always helpful. Pros Receiving notifications by email whenever a sale is made. Cons The backend editing of the website is not user friendly. June 23, 2025 2.0 Its harder and more expensive than i originally thought it would be to setup and start processing payments. Pros Although i didnt have the best experience with shopify it did give me the oportunity to start an online store and sell my products. Cons It was a little difficult for me to setup. It’s a lot easier than building into your site and you are able to offer your products on your own terms. Pros What I liked most about Shopify is the convenience of building the store. I’ve done it for multiple brands and it was very simply. Also, the cost effectiveness for small businesses and black owned businesses helped. Cons Integrations can be a little tricky. If you want something that is more than functional, looks good, and is easy to use, definitely use Shopify. However, if you have an existing high level site (like we did) and need a bolt on webshop, it will not be seamless and will look different to your existing site. Pros Very intuitive and easy to use. Even for basic technical level marketer, the drag and drop elements as well as the modules make it easy to build a good looking website without being an expert coder. Cons Some of the internal systems weren't that easy to integrate. It was also a bit difficult to match the website up to our existing Hubspot and make it look exactly the same as an extension of the site, rather than a seperate site. Pros It makes small to medium business possible and there are options to scale via apps. Cons The jump to premium is large for even a medium sized business, so as we scale to the point that a connection of multiple Shopify apps becomes shaky you can kind of get stuck in this limbo of no mid-ground pricing. Easy to use, efficient, effective, all wrapped up in one Cons The MAIN thing is that if I have an order for 100 units and they come 10 units to a box, there's no way to make a bulk shipping label purchase all at once. Owner Retail Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great Platform For Beginners in Ecommerce" October 1, 2024 4.0 Overall it was good, they make great websites whether they are blogs or stores and a better selection of vendors than many of the other dropping shipping platforms. Pros I like that shopify had a wide selection of merchants to choose from when you were setting up your store, they had everything from simple merch, regular clothing and even an adult products(if thats what you want to set up!). Also, a lot of vendors work with them so they always have different promotions going on to get your store up and going. And if you want to pause it you can keep your whole store with out losing anything for a much lower cost. Cons What I didn't like is when it comes to getting your products into categories it's not as simple as going under the title of the page and checkmarking the products that you want for that page. Also, while they do have a lot vendors so many people use shopify that many times a lot of the products are sold out and thats a problem if you are going to be a vendor on a large platform with millions of users such as Shopify you have to keep up with the demand. And you can never just call everything has to be done through email and chat. And when shopify accounts were comprised such as mine was I would have rather spoke with someone about the situation than continue to have online interaction on the account that was compromised. You are able to create your own website and the payment options from the most popular available. Cons Hidden fees which can be bad for growing brands. It was very user-friendly. There was lots of help available through Shopify and from the internet in general about the ins and outs of the platform. This was important to me because I have no prior experience with setting up my own online store. Shopify made the experience much more inviting and stress free. Pros What I liked the most about Shopify was how user friendly it was. As a new user, the platform felt very inviting. Cons The pricing structure is what I liked the least about Shopify.
