Overall it's simple. Cons The outages. It's frustrating from a customer standpoint and we have a bunch of different Shopify's that don't link up easily, but we're fixing that by going multilocation. Pros What stands out to me is there well built and documented API. It's intuitive and easy to use, making it easy to integrate with other software. The backend data can easily be accessed from the admin site itself or with a program like Postman. They also have lots of 3rd party plugins to extend and enhance it's functionality. I get great conversions whenever i setup a campaign like this. Pros Great e-commerce templates, with great site security and checkout pages that are easy to design. They walk you step-by step of building out your site page and adding products. Some features are done for you also. The ease of use is a big thing for us as well and they've exceeded the bar there. Cons We get only 3 options per product and if we need more we had to buy extension for custom fields. Shopify payment is not available worldwide and we had to pay extra money while using third party payment gateway system.Real time carrier shipping is available in expensive plans only. Pros Shopify is a crazy good product for e-commerce stores. It is super simple to sign up and start selling. The app marketplace (I think that's what it is called) has an incredible amount of add on's that can enhance your store. Out of the box though, Shopify provides everything to get started. I compare Shopify to Wordpress, it's in the same realm, although different markets. If you are thinking about starting an e-commerce site, Shopify is where you should start! Cons It's truly a great product and therefore finding a con is pretty hard. I would say the marketplace to sell your store (can't remember the name) could be improved. Because of the way it is setup, you end up with a ton of generic replies and it becomes a waste of time responding to them all. However, this is such a small part of the overall experience that it's not a big deal. While we all know you do have to pay to get great service, it is hard for small business owners to get started, so it would be nice to see programs for a starter businesses or something. Moreover, they have a great customer service team that have been very helpful. Cons My only issue with Shopify was that being a non US citizen I needed a special permission from the tax team to allow me to sell via their checkout tool; it took the tax team around 3 months to contact me to review my case which affected my sales! A couple of them had their blogs on WordPress and even switched that over to Shopify. It's really becoming a one-stop-shop for web design. Cons Because it was originally made for eCommerce, the blog isn't that enhanced. They give you plenty of options for formatting and there is an app for any feature you can think of adding to your website. It's also not too expensive compared to the potential money that you can make through the site you made. Cons The tutorial for Shopify isn't clear and you will get lost on the site til you get the hand of using the software. The community is also very undesirable, there are tons of fake gurus that are advertising Shopify as the end all to passive income which is simple no true or extremely unlikely. Cons The Wordpress interface can sometimes be clunky and troublesome to create pages and link menus, however I understand that it's for the customisation features. The price might also put some people off, since there are cheaper alternatives. You can make it look however you want and you can change it as often as you need. Control over pricing, shipping, products etc is a big bonus. Also, the apps that you can add make the website a lot more interesting to use. Cons Adding new products is not the simplest process, especially products with various color options. No real cons, though. Just needs some training.
