Pros: Layout is quite good. Menu driven customization is also quite efficient and effective. Customer responsiveness has improved over the last 3-4 years.

Cons: Accuracy of data is somewhat suspect due to lack of sufficient audit-trail. Financial (commonly referred to as "back office") capabilities are very sub-standard. Rather than being handled as a supplemental add-on, the financial aspects are critical for effective utilization. There has to be more recognition that the healthcare services being conducted and documented are not performed in a vacuum. Financial integration (front-to-back) needs great deal of improvement.

Pros: nothing

Cons: everything

Overall: I have been in Mental Health as a Licensed Psychotherapist for 20+ years and this product is the most useless system I have ever used. It is not user friendly and often crashes. Do not waste money on this product. Research products such as Power Chart are way more useful and easier for employees to learn. CareLogic is the worst investment one can purchase for their company or practice. Fear this--yes because you got ripped off.

Recommendations to other buyers: Yes, run away from this useless and unreliable product. Do not waste money on this. First hand experience.

Comments: If I could have given this "0" stars I would have. System is crashing constantly. I've lost countless hours of work due to this system. When you call customer service the answer is always "put in a ticket". But nothing gets done about the ticket. I would not recommend this software to my worst enemy.

Pros: None available

Recommendations to other buyers: Do not waste your MONEY, TIME, AND ENERGY!

Second-Worst EHR That I Ever Used

Value for Money

Comments: I have worked many "Locum Tenens" jobs in the last 6-7 years, and this Electronic Health Record program was easily qualified to be the 2nd-Worst. CareLogic had incredible, mind-boggling inefficiencies built into it that meant the user (or perhaps staff) would be re-typing much info. about a patient multiple times over many visits. The templates for many of its evaluation types mingled info. for the Past Medical History in with Substance Abuse History, and many other illogical combinations that made it hard to pull the info. you needed re: a specific topic on a patient. It was also hard to move from one document to another or to get to scanned-in documents like EKG's, patient surveys, labs, etc.

Pros: It helps one quickly find what records still need to be signed after transcription, and allows for editing of what the transcriptionist may have mistyped.

Cons: Outrageously time-consuming and counter-productive to use.

Recommendations to other buyers: Press for details of how information actually can be entered into EHR, and how much time will it take a doctor or staff to do it.

Comments: During the vendor selection process, the sales reps gave the impression the software had a lot more flexibility than it does. The reporting/extracting data has been an issue since we began using the software and continues today. There are limitations in the security since you can block access but not down to a singular item. The configurable forms are a plus however extracting the data from them is nearly impossible. The software has some good points, however in the setup, we were not fully informed of some of the limitations.

Pros: Once you are trained in its use, the flow in the ECR comes with ease. Good tracking and reporting of billing.

Cons: Reporting/Extracting data.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do not choose to use configurable forms. Use the modules provided and supplement as necessary.

Hi Anne, thank you for your feedback. We hope the Reporting Stabilization project this year has resulted in more predictable reporting and extract of data for your agency. We¿re also building on the ease for reporting against data from configurable forms (specifically around multiple instances of a document). And while our privileging in all cases is not available down to every field currently, we¿ll certainly review that request with our Product team for future roadmap consideration. We made significant investments in 2016 around customer service and product that we believe will improve your experience. We appreciate you as our customer and are here to help, so we¿d love your perspective on any additional areas on which we can focus specific to your agency and/or the entire CareLogic community. As always, you can reach us through the support desk or during the weekly status calls to make sure we¿re addressing your needs. Thank you, your Qualifacts team.

Recommendations to other buyers: None at this time. I do not have any recommendations at this time.

Comments: We have been in CareLogic for about a year and a half. It was a great improvement from working on paper. Attending the CareLogic conference has been very helpful in learning more ways to help direct care staff get there documentation done and spend more time with clients. In addition, I learned more information on how to pull information out of Carelogic for reporting purposes.

Comments: The ease of use for clinicians and providers are the big selling points. It is more difficult to navigate and troubleshoot from a billing and troubleshooting perspective. However, keeping our providers happy so they can provide the best care is the most important piece!

Thank you, Kellye, for your feedback. We understand our user interface could be improved. As roadmap projects occur, we're taking opportunities to also enhance the user experience. For example, when improvements to our billing module come to market (e.g., capitation and member billing), we¿re integrating usability changes that should result in a better (more intuitive and efficient) user experience.

Pros: Adaptability! System is able to be used in all different lines of business. Very user friendly. Documentation/QSI Connect even being redone, the overall concept of having different forms of communication and training to view at your own pace.

Cons: Reporting for custom reports is very cumbersome. Collection Dashboard tables are not in the reporting warehouse. The cumbersome reports could even be overlooked if when new modules are released so are the tables in order to include in custom reports.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do it!! Outline how you would like to view and categorize you types of services. When thinking about the above, don't box yourself in. So think what you would want it to look like if you expanded services or went into other states.

Pros: Qualifacts staff are great. They are always willing to help, answer questions, and provide CareLogic webinars. They don't hesitate to call me to clarify questions or problems that are too cumbersome for email/portal communication. CareLogic has helped our agency increase our auditing procedures and helps us provide a quality product to our clients.

Cons: I was disappointed with the 2015 C3 conference because the Sys Admin track wasn't posted prior to the "early bird" deadline, so I was not able to sign up for that portion. I found out later that it would have been extremely beneficial for me to attend those in Denver. I liked this C3 better as I was able to find out the topics of the Sys Admin track ahead of time so I could decide if it would be beneficial. (It was!)

Thanks for being a long time customer, Jessica. We appreciate you. We understand there are opportunities to improve your usability. And while the beauty of a robust enterprise system places much of the control and power in a customer's hands to configure, maintain and align the system to support their specific business needs, we get that it can feel like there's too much setup and administration. As we execute on our current commitments and advance our product roadmap, know we remain committed to making sure your user experience is as efficient as possible, and we're always looking for opportunities to improve ease of data entry and maintenance of the system.

Glad to hear it, Brenda. Congrats on your promotion! We understand some of the limitations of our current reporting capabilities. We're currently in phase 2 of improving our reporting capabilities this year and super excited about the upgraded version of our reporting offering. Comments: There is a lot of functionality that could be very helpful if one little piece could be changed or added. It would be very helpful if functionality was n-tier by default to simplify implementations for agencies in consortiums. Reporting has improved a lot recently.

We are so proud of the successes customers, like you Emmalee, have had in implementing the consortiums. We understand there are ways to n-tier the system to facilitate easier maintenance of a consortium system. As we continue to advance our roadmap, we will take your feedback in to consideration as we continue to look for ways - given we're an enterprise platform - to understand how best n-tier functionality would benefit the entire community.

Pros: There's nothing I like about CareLogic.

Cons: It's not user-friendly whatsoever. It has an archaic layout; the entire interface should be razed and redone.

Recommendations to other buyers: Steer clear of this product if at all possible. If it were 1997, I might think this was impressive software; however, it is 2014, and I can't believe my non-profit agency is paying what they are for this.

Pros: I have worked with Qualifacts for 10 years before moving to another agency, which uses Avatar. I would say if I had to choose, Qualifacts Carelogic would definitely be my choice. We upgraded to the newer system in 2011, and yes it works so much better. We bought it as a shell and built it to our specifications.

Cons: Yes it does go down. Save your work often. It happens. It's an internet based system. They work hard to get it up again.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would choose it. I am very judgmental on products. If I recommend it, it has to be good. I am willing to give more feedback if needed.

Pros: I like the login screen and the dual password functionality. Entering information is a long process with many different clicking options.

Cons: The system is non-intuitive and very clunky. Finding information in the system is not user-friendly, and the system seems archaic. IE is a very unstable platform and is slow when trying to navigate the system. Frequent system crashes lead to losing large amounts of information and having to restart paperwork. It lack of auto-population of fields, and there's no way to get reports.

Recommendations to other buyers: Spend time learning the system. Ask questions. Use your teammates as a resource.

Pros: There are some fairly simple and straightforward templates for psychiatric and specialty mental health services in the software.

Cons: Even with a great internet connection, users can be typing for a period of time and lose notes, because the system crashes on the Qualifacts/CareLogic end. This happens more than occasionally, so we have to hit Submit to save our partially written notes quite often. I'm both a clinician and administrator, with a 12 year history of being a medical director and experience implementing three different EHRs in different clinics. I also see patients, work out in the field on an ACT Team with the homeless, and have done everything from that on up to training staff. This EHR is very clunky. The interface is not user-friendly, and it takes an unnecessary number of clicks to get even very simple documents into writing. Also, it is only accessible by using PCs with Internet Explorer. In my experience, IE is widely considered inferior and slower than Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and other products. The way the EHR is set up is not like a medical record, which should read from beginning to end in a clear, chronological order with reference from one chart section to another quickly. This feature can and will save lives. But the setup in this system is more like different clinicians, each having their own records. It takes too long to reference others' notes and then get back into the body of your own note. There are glaring omissions in the psychiatric assessment - things that would fail a typical medical student write up, let alone resident or post graduate. For example, there is no field in the ACT Team psychiatric assessment for past medical history, past family history, allergies, alcohol and substance use history, or social history. It might work okay for poorly trained psychiatrists that do not document these minimum fields in their initial assessments. But if you want to provide good, quality, evidence-based care using the recovery model, bio-psycho-social model and collaborative documentation, it is not possible with this software. It does not have customizable fields for certain treatment teams or specialized services. I recently finished an initial evaluation and tried ordering labs with the software. I soon realized that each specific lab I ordered would require a lot of clicks and diagnostic codes, all of which could be handled by the simple v58.69 code - metabolic or other medication related side effects. There are other examples as well.

Recommendations to other buyers: Developers of this software and people that use it in clinics every day should meet, discuss patient flow, do real-time field testing with a few volunteer patients or fake ones, and then determine how to make this a viable product. Compare this product in a field test to that used in primary care or in your local average pediatrician's office, where iPad-style tablets or hardware are used to quickly input data that collects into a central, meaningful reservoir of clinical data. The faster it is to document, the more history and vital information can be brought together, which results in more face-to-face time to troubleshoot medical decision making and fine-tune a treatment strategy that will really work and result in measurable clinical improvement and patient satisfaction.

Pros: The product appears to be pliable, which is critical to an ever-changing set of regulations. As for the vendor, they address issues with relative speed.

Cons: We have sporadic issues with speed. The system regularly "seizes" in the middle of processing documents, which can add an exponential amount of time to simple tasks. As for the vendor, the only issue is what appears to be an unwillingness to customize the product for agency needs.

Recommendations to other buyers: Spend a lot of time practicing with the system before going live, or the glitches will drive you nuts.

Pros: CareLogic is a great behavioral health electronic health record. It is very stable and very easy to use after some training. It works very well for concurrent documentation, and as a supervisor, it works very well for reviewing staff documentation and co-signing necessary documentation. I am very pleased with CareLogic and actually enjoy using it. Additionally, as a web-based, cloud EHR, it can be accessed from anywhere, which becomes incredibly useful.

Cons: The look can be intimidating and not really user-friendly or intuitive. It does take some time to learn where things are, and the steps involved with certain things (such as opening a new file) can be confusing. Also, it presently only works with Internet Explorer, which causes problems if you have Macs or prefer other internet applications. However, this is being fixed, and it should work with Google Chrome soon.

Recommendations to other buyers: When rolling out this EHR, as with any, it is vitally important to have individuals within your organization who have a lot training and understanding of the EHR. These individuals become integral to your organization before, during, and after implementation.

Pros: It is generally user-friendly, quick, and easy to learn to use once shown how. One can keep client notes, schedules, and client histories. You can also track appointments kept, cancelled, etc.

Cons: There are different options to use, but unless shown how to use the options, it is unlikely I would ever have time to figure it out on my own. I do not like how the screens change on me without my prompting. For example, if I have two therapists' schedules up side-by-side, they may change on their own to two screens of the same therapist, which I didn't want to happen.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have someone to show you how to use the software, try to get as much training as you can. There are great little shortcuts that I had not learned to use the first time shown.

Pros: Qualifacts is a workhorse; its core functionality is reliable and rarely has bugs or crashes. When small gliches do occur, customer support is usually quick to fix them.

Cons: It's not user friendly at all. Many small issues add up to a largely frustrating experience. Cursors don't default to single text boxes on new screens; you can't enter clients with apostrophes in their names. If you do, any screen that displays that name will crash.

Recommendations to other buyers: Keep looking for something else. Do you really want your employees working in a program all day that makes them frustrated? Do them a favor and find program with more user testing behind it.

I also wish the system was set up like a medical chart where clients can also look up certain information needed for example diagnosis, medications, next appointment times, medication refill requests, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be patient with the system when it shuts down. It will tend to do that from time to time. Also, don't get frustrated when you have to go back to the main front desk screen to navigate. I would also suggest an option to see doctors schedules all at once. That would be easier to navigate.

Pros: We have very complex payers systems that this system (most of the time) can accommodate. The system is quite flexible in many ways. The vendor has recently been asking for more user input about their upcoming certification requirements.

Cons: The user interface is quite clunky and not intuitive; it takes many clicks to accomplish things. If your internet has a hiccup during one of these clicks, there is no automatic save, so everything is lost. The vendor has not always responded in a timely manner to some very business-critical problems.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure the vendor/software has a way to do all you need it to do, and if it does not, get references from current users to see how difficult it is to get the vendor to create something that will work for you.

Cons: It is extremely frustrating when the system goes down. No one is able to do their job sufficiently without CareLogic running correctly. It makes ten times more work for everyone when we are unable to get into CareLogic, which results in more errors and frustrated workers and clients.

Recommendations to other buyers: Have a good back up plan for when the system is not working because it happens often, and if you are prepared for it, there will be less frustration in the end.

Pros: The fact that CareLogic is so configurable, both from the Clinical and financial perspectives, is one of the best features. Generally, we are able to accommodate most scenarios, although this can sometimes be a double-edged sword. We have really appreciated the communication/training from QSI with respects to major initiatives, such as CPT Code changes and Meaningful Use. This is greatly appreciated. QSI does a lot to support the User Groups, both the QSI Product User Groups and State User Groups. This has come to be invaluable.

Cons: As stated above, the configurability can be at times daunting. One of the toughest areas for us to surround is the Reporting; Pentaho is not an easy tool to use. I have hopes for the more robust User Console. I would like to see a more responsive Support Desk.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take your time. Know that there is a lot that you do not know and that no system can do everything.

Pros: Qualifacts is highly responsive to customers' needs. They offer frequent webinars, a customer support website, and a support ticket system. CareLogic customers have also formed user-led groups which meet quarterly to discuss system use, new features, etc.. This helps customers take advantage of massive changes in the healthcare field and Qualifacts' constant efforts at providing more powerful features. Qualifacts has a yearly conference, which is a great opportunity to learn about features directly from Qualifacts¿ staff. I have attended twice and learned a great deal of new information each time. CareLogic is highly customizable. You can create and modify forms and reports to fit any type of behavioral health program. The program comes with many options already configured, but there are limitless ways to tailor the EHR to you specific needs. Users who are familiar with Structured Query Language (SQL) can create customized reports to meet nearly any business need. In addition to the ability to program reports, CareLogic comes loaded with dozens of reports for a variety of needs. CareLogic has features to handle every step in the client/patient process, from initial phone call to discharge. It also has many features to track and manage employee data.

Cons: It's not a "pretty" system. I have seen EHRs which look fancier and appear to be more user-friendly. It does not yet support multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). It has to be run only on Internet Explorer. It can experience varying degrees of system slowness, especially when e-prescribing, throughout the day. I don't believe this is unique to Qualifacts, however - you are at the mercy of your internal network and internet service provider in addition to any speed issues CareLogic may actually have.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't underestimate the amount of in-house expertise you will need to support an EHR. Many agencies have two full time staff members: one for system administration and one for report writing. CareLogic is not a program that can be administered by someone as an add-on to their regular job duties. If you want to manage it well and take full advantage of its power and features, you need to devote a staff member (or two) to the task. Ask about any "hidden" pockets of staff time needed to get system up and running. For example, setting up the treatment plan grid in CareLogic can easily take hundreds of hours of staff time. If you are currently using paper files and intend to transition to fully electronic, be prepared for this to be much more difficult and take much longer than planned. It is critical to accomplish this, but it is quite challenging.

Pros: I love that QSI is a large enough company to continue to maintain and enhance their product. I also love that they are small enough to feel that you truly get to know the staff and develop a professional relationship with them.

Cons: While there are many strides being made to upgrade the software, the timeliness and followthrough are often an issue.

Recommendations to other buyers: My recommendation would be to talk to as many current customers as possible. QSI has done a great job in establishing a referral base of customers that really paint the full picture, positive and negative. Ask questions!

Pros: Overall, it's a good system.

Cons: Pentaho software is not friendly to use. It is very difficult to extract data.

Recommendations to other buyers: Evaluate all areas in the system: billing, reporting, data analysis, outcomes, etc.

Pros: It is better than using paper.

Cons: It is not compatible with any web browsers other than an outdated version of Internet Explorer. It is common knowledge that Internet Explorer is the most vulnerable browser there is. Most people avoid it for this reason, but it is also inefficient in many ways. This program forces security and performance-conscience professionals to use Internet Explorer - and an out-dated version at that. The program also freezes and crashes too often; there are many unusual glitches (accidentally dragging a calendar icon will break the program, etc.) It is brought down on a regular basis due to errors and glitches, which is terribly inconvenient. Qualifacts needs a major overhaul. More browser support is absolutely a requirement for a modern program that professionals are expected to use (no Mac support? unacceptable.)

Recommendations to other buyers: Evaluate honestly, and suggest improvements when you can.

Recommendations to other buyers: Test every possible facet before buying. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Pros: I like the ease of use.

Cons: It is too slow and breaks down too frequently. There are times I cannot get into the system at all.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make it faster and not break down so much, or have an alternative system to use when this one is not working.

Pros: I like the ease of being able to bill based upon the activities scheduled.

Cons: As primarily an outreach program, the delay in having an offline sync feature has made use of the product in the field more difficult and more costly due to the need to utilize MiFis and hotspots.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you have clinical staff strongly involved in this process. Having a clinical person as System Administrator has a lot of benefits.

Pros: The vendor has contacts who respond in a timely manner when there are questions or issues and has fostered a user community to also provide support.

Cons: The updates can sometimes be sloppy and are often late especially in regards to meaningful use.

Recommendations to other buyers: It attempts to offer a wide array of solutions to store information but it can be difficult to organize the electronic file in the most logical way.

Pros: The system is one-stop shop. The user community is second to none. There is an impressive transparency in pricing and knowledge sharing. The management of Qualifacts seems to have its collective head on straight. The positioning and movement of the company in a clogged market is positive and growing. In our area, we have seen several new agencies!

Cons: While the service centers are great support, quicker turnaround on any support issue could always be improved. Remember, customers feel that their individual issues are more important than any other issue. But I like the dedicated support contact idea!

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask questions of the other vendors about what they actually get for the price; Qualifacts has no surprises. Ask other vendors about their implementation and go live time frames; we were live in 6 1/2 months!

Pros: They listen and take feedback from users seriously. Then they realign priorities based upon the feedback. They have become proactive with making changes in regards to Health Care reform and Meaningful Use. They have made many improvements over the last few years and continue to move in the right direction. We were able to streamline billing and increase our collection rate. We were also able to streamline productivity management and monitor quality much closer by moving to this product. The C3 Conference they offer is very beneficial.

Cons: It has some basic functionality areas that could use improvement, but these have taken the "back burner" to larger projects.

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall, it is a good product. Compared to other Electronic Medical Record systems I have used, this one is by far the best. We have streamlined our billing process and increased collections, productivity and quality monitoring by using this software.

Pros: I find CareLogic to be very user friendly, clean, and easy to navigate.

Cons: As a system administrator, I find it difficult to get a quick response from Qualifacts Support; however, I do appreciate the great strides the company is making to fix this issue. I also appreciate the significant change in system outages. I have found in the last six months for there to be significantly less disruptions to service during normal business hours.

Recommendations to other buyers: Currently not available for IE 10/11. Also not fully compatible with Apple products.

Pros: The CareLogic Enterprise software is a comprehensive Electronic Healthcare Record that has allowed our behavioral healthcare company to achieve greater efficiencies and greater compliance. Some of the outcome measures that we achieved include: - Our Medicaid collection rate went from 85-90% to 100% - Our 3rd party collection rate went from 50-75% to 90% - Our Medicare billing went from $0 to $150,000 (we now have a way to document and bill Incident To) - We achieved a 100% outpatient billing rate - Consumers who are shared between multiple programs share a single treatment plan. - Continuity of care for our consumers in multiple programs has been ensured with the shared EHR.

Cons: There never seems to be enough staff on their development team to implement all of the changes that we'd like to see. That being said, they have been able to make all business critical deadlines, like Meaningful Use requirements, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do your due diligence, so that you can appreciate the quality and comprehensiveness of this product.
