Pros: The reports I'm able to run are very helpful.

Cons: The financial aspect has improved with the forwarded balances added when you look at payments but that was my least favorite thing...the difficulty determining balances due.

Overall: Ease of scheduling appointments and follow up on past due accounts.

This software has everything I need in one place.

Pros: The customer service is terrific! I was using the software immediately after a short training. They contacted ME to see if I needed additional support.

Cons: Posting payments took me a few times to get the hang of but that's just me.

I've been using Therasoft for my business for seven years now, and I'm very pleased.

Pros: I like that it does everything all in one place-- scheduling, billing, documenting... I also like that it is all online so I can access it from anywhere.

Cons: Sometimes it runs a bit slow for me when I'm in a hurry. These periods of it running slow don't seem to last long though.

Pros: This software is flexible and fits with how I want to use it. The support team is always helpful and patient with me.

Cons: The assessment documents are not as complete as I would like. I've encountered some problems in submitting claims.

Overall: It meets EMR requirements. It saves me space(less paper). It helps me to be more organized.

Pros: All the features, cost, response from customer service staff, willingness to take modifications in consideration

Cons: Not consistent to depend on when you have a specific window to work. Will time you out, not allow you to log in, takes too long to reload pages, is cumbersome to complete notes in a timely manner between clients, often frustrating.

Pros: Efficient use of record keeping. Easy accessibility with the phone app. I appreciate how you can add insurance instead of only having a record of one insurance. I appreciate how the Therasoft includes insurance feedback about amount paid and amount owed for each session.

Cons: More efficiency. There are multiple clicks. So when I click regarding registration, I wait a while before I can click bill insurance. I wonder if any of the buttons can be grouped or quicker without delay? Its hard dealing with any lag time at the end of the day or between doing other tasks. I would also appreciate more efficiency when I call for help. Most often someone is not available and when I can a call back-its at a random time and the person does not address my question over voice mail, nor gives me a specific time that I can reach that person. So theres some frustration around accessibility for help. Once I reach someone, the service is great.

I've used Therasoft Online for several years and have been extremely pleased!

Pros: It's easy to use and constantly being updated to meet more advanced needs. The staff is helpful and willing to take the time to walk through difficulties and find solutions.

Overall: Billing is easy and when checks are deposited directly from insurance companies, EOB information shows up on it's own.

I find the system very easy to use, I can access it from anywhere, and I really appreciate support.

Pros: Simple, secure, cloud-based, comprehensive practice management software makes my work much easier to do on a daily basis, and allows me to focus on the clinical work.

Cons: Half-jokingly, I wish that it could do my paperwork for me! It also cannot demystify the insurance world with all of its ins and outs.

Overall: It allows me to focus on my clinical work and makes running the business as easy as possible from the practice management side.

Pros: Therasoft software is easy to use. They have what I'm looking for-great customer service, easy access to the calendar, billing, credit cards, progress notes, forms, videos-really I Love Everything. All members of their team are so helpful and answer my questions patiently. I haven't taken advantage of all of their services, but I'm looking forward to my continued work with them in the future.

Pros: The product is very user friendly. The price point is excellent. Customer service has always been extremely accommodating - knowledgeable, friendly, and go above-and-beyond what would be expected.

Cons: Our only complaint has been the inability to add in customized forms such as in-take, treatment forms, etc.

Pros: I like that I can do everything from one screen when I am writing notes, filing insurance, recording payments and recording attendance.

Cons: There is so much that I can do on it, that I still haven't learned all of its capabilities. The reports area is confusing to me. I don't know which one does what.

Overall: Ease of use, ability to file insurance and record notes quickly.

Billing, clinical documentation, marketing, scheduling.....Therasoft helps do it all successfully.

Pros: The customer service is excellent. Every single person we have worked with has been amazing. They are professional, available and respond quickly every time. They have gone above and beyond in assisting us in successfully using the program to our benefit.

Cons: The deposit account has caused some issues for us. Probably a user issue, not a system issue. I would prefer just a client credit account that would not prohibit us from entering in any insurance payment when we need to.

Pros: It has been very easy to learn, the software always functions well, the phone app is helpful for making appointments and checking clients in for their appointments, and has many great additional features!

Overall: Save time at work and more time with kids at home.

Pros: The ease of using it. It has everything. I need at my finger tips. I can look at a glance to see client status. That they attended session, they paid for session and notes on session completed. I can easily see outstanding balances on individual clients as well as over all summary of outstanding money owed. I do not take insurance so I can not comment on that part of the program however it looks straight forward as far as ease.

Pros: I like having everything bundled with one company.
I like the convenience that this service provides having access to records on any device connected to the internet without having the records stored on that device.
I think they go far beyond my expectations for any customer service with the time they took teaching me about the system all the way through. I can still contact my customer service rep today and she would be there to answer any of my questions.
The system is easy to use and includes absolutely everything I need for my small private practice from website, records, I can store educational materials, They have added hippa compliant video services but I have not used them, I can even let them become my billing department and have yet to have any issues with insurance.

Cons: I wasn't a fan of the mobile app, it just felt different to me but I can very easily open it up in a web browser on any device so not that big of a deal.

Overall: Easy to use and allows me to focus on other priorities

Pros: I like the mobile application and being able to upload therapy documents for clients. The customer service team has been very helpful.

Cons: It has taken a little while to get the billing piece up and running but customer service has been very helpful in expediting this process.

Pros: I use the system daily for all my office management needs. The calendar system with email reminders for clients is one of my favorite features. The ease of submitting payment and completing a clinical note at time of service has streamlined my practice.

Cons: Some of the reports for credit card charges and superbills are not as user friendly. For example, I wish I could send superbills to an alternative email address.

Pros: I love the availability and responsiveness of customer services. there are many templates for most any type of client interaction. this product is just perfect for a single provider or a growing practice.

Cons: the treatment plans a little tedious to complete. iIthink that product can do sooo much, it is a bit overwhelming initially and takes some time to customize it for my practice...but that is a pro too

Overall: Therasoft helps me stay organized. I love one platform for documentation, billing, etc.

Pros: It has consistently improved over the years. This is important because the electronic environment has changed as well. With changes in electronics and in state laws, Therasoft has maintained the ability to change with the environment.

Cons: Sometimes the system runs rather slow. I would blame my WiFi system, but this is a true statement for more than one WiFi system. But overall, it is an excellent program.

Overall: It takes care of all the requirements to keep client notes for the state of Texas. It also handles a number of insurance companies and their required filing and payments.

Pros: The scheduling is easy, good reports , over the years many new features have been added making it more useful.

Cons: The only con I would state is being able to review past notes. There are a lot of clicks to go from note to note.

Pros: The company does the billing for you. The apps are great too! My clients really like the MyTherapist app.

Cons: It could be more user-friendly, but the team has been very helpful as we learn how to use it. It could be a bit more intuitive.

Pros: It does so many things from documenting the client's first contact to the initial assessment to the treatment plan and the progress notes. It allows me to send text message reminders which the client's love. I have not implemented the tele-mental health program yet but know it is there. I now have gone paper free and have all information scanned in to the documents and notes tabs.

Cons: The main weakness has been with A/R (accounts receivable) but now they have a service for that area and I am trying it out.

Overall: Ease of use for staff and clients. I have gone from a solo practice to a group practice using it. I am in process of having my group practice acquired by another company and hope they will continue to use it.

Pros: We especially like the ability to enter, store and retrieve documents and information on the electronic record.

Cons: Can be a bit cumbersome setting up insurers, coordinating emdeon and insurer electronic filing and payment process. But once it is in place, it is great.

Overall: We have recommended this product / service to many clinicians in our area.

Pros: * offers so many administrative, billing, and clinical tools that help me stay organized and manage my time well
* has EXCELLENT customer support, which is essential for a solo practioner with limited computer skills; they are friendly, patient, and helpful to resolve issues
* is HIPPA compliant
* is very affordable and cost effective
* could transition to electronic records and utilize different components of the program at my own pace

Cons: * when i started, the video tutorials on how to use the different tools were minimal and i relied heavily on customer support; thankfully, this has changed over the months; step-by-step teaching tutorials are very helpful in learning how to use this comprehensive system; this along side the excellent customer support greatly reduces the frustration and the ability to stick with the learning process
* the accounting program is functional but somewhat confusing, especially the ability to track client payments

Pros: It is very focused towards the private therapist who deals a little or not at all with insurance. It is very easy to schedule an appointment and bill to insurance. They also work with you to help get the EOB's integrated and EFT set up so receiving payments is super easy too. The drop down menus are easy to navigate and pretty straight forward. They also give you some reports that are helpful to maintain a healthy business and provide training videos on some functions that aren't intuitive.

Cons: From a legal and financial standpoint, things could be improved. The software is very focused on documentation the clinical side of things but not the financial. There is currently no way to record credit card payments if you don't use their system other then the "other" selection. It does not record changes made in the system to the patients payment accounts (ie insurance paid but then took back the money, you delete all record of payment and have to keep a paper copy to remember what happened). While you can make a note on a specific date of service, there is no place to record a financial based note that effects the whole account (ie patient called to complain about whole bill, here is what we did). It would be nice if the system moved something from insurance to patient responsibility only after you record a payment from the insurance, but they system does it whenever so you have to review all invoices to make sure they are truly for the patient to pay. It would be nice if they improved the ease of: viewing patient balance, pull report for what is pending to insurance, re-bill claims to insurance and/or a new insurance, provide tracking in the system so instead of deleting things, you would "back it out", and provided a place to scan outside records so we don't have to keep paper charts with the electronic ones.

Overall: My recommendation of the software depends on the size of the business utilizing it. For 1 or two provider businesses that are not or do very little with insurance, it is great

Pros: I enjoy how user friendly it is. Most things can be easily found by looking for them. Also, the customer service is fabulous. If you can't figure something out, send an email, and they get back to you usually in the same day.

Cons: I wish there was a streamlined way to upload emails into client folders for documentation. If possible, it would be great if you could email directly through there using your common address.

Pros: What I like most about this software is the attendance and progress notes format. I also like some of the assessment templates. I like the electronic signatures and the fact that it is tied to billing

Cons: I love the online sessions function but the picture quality for the provider is very bad. Also, the group notes are difficult. I used to use the group tab but then it does not show on the regular attendance and progress notes tabs. There must be a way that groups can also be on normal calendar and attendance.

Overall: All-in-one place for services.

Pros: Being able to do everything to run my practice from appointments, documentation, marketing, and billing. I have tried several other software programs prior to Therasoft Online and had to piece mill other programs to make it all work. With Therasoft I don't have to use any other program to fulfill my needs. My clients like the ability to register and schedule their own appointments for convenience. I like the ability to have online sessions for clients that cannot travel to the office. The mobile app for clinicians is very user friendly and provides more features than other softwares I have used. Whenever I have a question or problem the team is readily available and responsive.

Cons: The price is a little higher than other EHR software, however the features are worth it in the end.

Overall: Being able to run and manage my practice more efficiently.

Pros: The software is easy to navigate once know how to use it. If you ever have any issues or questions, when you called the support line, you actually get a live person!

Cons: At first, I had difficulties with using the software but that was because I wasn't completely sure on how to use the software.

Overall: Since the software is so simple and fast, I am able to get my work done in no time! I absolutely love it!

Cons: It's just not that user friendly at times. It takes a long time to process and save things before being allowed to move on to the next. There are a ton of steps to take for each process, to the point that I stopped trying to learn new things or ways to use it due to the complexity- you have to memorize the steps because they aren't obvious or logical.

Easy to use but could be a bit more intuitive in design. Customer support is 5 Star all the way.

Pros: Everyone I've spoken with have been courteous and knowledgeable. one od the Customer support representative in particular has been very accommodating and scheduling meetings for me to learn and get better at using the software. I really appreciate her professionalism. I declined several other EHR systems (Simple Practice, Therapynotes etc.) because they did not have support staff I could verbally speak with.

Cons: The registration process is not hard but I think in some ways could be a bit more intuitive. At times figuring out the payment processing part can be a little confusing but I think as I get more familiar with it that will change. Figuring out the online video counseling was a little more difficult than I expected. My clients had a hard time with it. Perhaps this is an area for improvement. Dealing with the pop ups or disabling pops was a pretty long process. The long email I received though helpful was an immediate turn off, because my first reaction was "Oh no, this is long and detailed email." But I was able to have the online session with my client. Another point to consider, I have had two or three experiences when I did call Therasoft but could not get anybody and 1 or 2 individuals who could not answer my questions, but I did not lose confidence because of my previous positive experiences with representative

Pros: Ease of use, multifunctionality, and the support staff in the A/R department; without them, I would suffer financially, as my focus remains on my clients as opposed to my earnings. Without their efforts and consistent support, I would know little to nothing about what is needed in order to submit claims and deal with insurance companies.

Cons: Given that I employ the calendar for both professional and personal use, I'd like to have the ability to more easily overlap sessions and personal events.

Pros: Its multifunctionality, ease of use, and intuitive interface. I'm also appreciative of the "help" section, in that responses are quickly found to any questions I might have about the application.

Pros: Ease of scheduling on the calendar and a client getting the link. Very easy to use! The client also found it simple to sign up. The scheduling portion with a Video icon also makes it easy to see which appointments are telehealth.

Cons: There is really so far nothing that I can think of that is a con. Perhaps if you wanted to have more than one person online like with a couple then that could be an issue.

Great people! Awesome services. I have found most of the staff to be a delight to talk with.

Pros: Customer service! Holistic service! Integration! The program is a lot easier than it may look. The integrated calender is the focal point of the software. I also like the mobile schedule.

Cons: The button to click to save a note does not always respond. Otherwise, Therasoft is the most complete mental health software I have come across after two years struggling to find a good integrated software for my practice.

Pros: I love the ease of getting started. After I am familiar with the system, it is easy to use. I like I can have teletherapy in a HIPAA approved format.

Cons: It took me a while to get used to the program. Also would like if there were some pre-loaded ideas in the libraries and homework sections.

Overall: Any time I have had to call for assistance, the response has been prompt and very helpful and courteous. I love the generic forms because creating some of these forms would take hours of time I could better spend increasing clientele. Thank you!

Comments: First, let me Proclaim that I am so very pleased with Therasoft. I have enjoyed all the amenities that are and is offered. The learning curve is almost nonexistent. I appreciate being able to access from the laptop, phone, tablet, etc. Therasoft has saved me hours of paperwork and stress. I appreciate being able to upload homework assignments as well as educational materials and the convenience of having everything in a central location. Customer service is amazing, I can get a Live person or a call back from a Live person if I call. I get a response via email within 24 no later than 48 business hours. Comments: Our practice had tried 3 different software programs with great frustration. Each had some particular nuance they could hang their reputation on but never the whole package. In some instances they were trying to be all things to all groups. Others were so simple that they overlooked some critical features that required another software package. Then we discovered Therasoft! A company designed specifically for therapists! It covers it all. Calendar, billing, communication etc. and all HIPPA compliant. If you choose the enhanced billing you will come out way ahead. We made the mistake of thinking we could handle it all at a time when we were changing from single therapist to a group. Our bad!!! We now use the enhanced billing and our revenue has increased and outstanding claims is becoming a thing of the past.

Customer service is top shelf. The team at Therasoft...Petra, Keila, Tiffany, Gene, Kassandra are the most responsive group of people I have had the privilege to work with! In the early days of learning the software, Petra and Keila gave up a weekend to train me in the nuts and bolts. You don't find that in the industry today.

I would have given 5 stars for ease of use, but there is a learning curve and therapists aren't known for being the most tech savy ;). That said, I can speak on behalf of everyone in our practice, therapists and front office alike, that we are thrilled to be a part of the Therasoft family and they ours!

Comments: The "Drop to Paper" claims' process with Blue Cross/Blue Shield has been an ongoing problem. Information processed this way is difficult to track and results in delayed payment. Week before last I called Customer Service and Petra answered. She heard my issue and explored my concerns far more than I ever expected. At some point, because two claims had been cleared by Emdeon but BC/BS had no record, she suggested filing the claims electronically--directly to BC/BS. And, just like that both claims cleared immediately!! I checked today and the information was confirmed approved and paid by BC/BS February 2, 2016--just 1-2 days after submission. This is outstanding news for me and even bigger news for all BC/BS claims now managed by "Drop to Paper". Please handsomely reward Petra for taking this step and the welcomed outcome. This will ultimately mean a great deal to providers, as it hastens the process. And, after all, even BC/BS must no longer want to handle paper claims, if possible.

Comments: Simply put, since I made the decision to utilize Therasoft, my productivity has gone up by an average of 6-7 clients per week. Therasoft removes the frustration of dealing with insurance, posting payments, etc., and allows me to focus on marketing and on providing sound, quality care. They are excellent people to work with, and many have been or are in the helping field themselves, which help provide a strong degree of empathy with my work needs. The progress note templates and treatment plan templates are excellent, their website services are equally excellent, and the calendar and appointment reminder elements to the software are fantastic. My clients appreciate the reminders sent via text or email or both. For clients who choose to file super-bills themselves or have out of network requests, Therasoft makes that process simple as well. Literally, with the click of a button, you can send a super bill, send out billing statements, keep track of referral sources, etc. Essentially, there isn't a business need for billing, documentation, appointment setting/keeping/reminding that Therasoft has not been able to help me with. The transition from DSM IV to V was made far less stressful with Therasoft's reverse engineered tool to find ICD-10 codes according to DSM IV codes.

The only con I've experienced is their server gets overloaded at times, so logging in or saving information can be delayed a bit, but a quick browser refresh tends to solve that issue. The other con is that I, like many of us when we first start out on our own, tried to cut cost and do all the billing myself. However, as I previously stated, with the extra clients I'm able to see as a result of Therasoft taking on the dirty work for me, the Enhanced Billing Services more than pay for themselves. They even audited my past work and found money I would not have known to look for.

I cannot say enough about this company. The product is effective and easy to use, and the people who run it are kind, patient and will take the time necessary to ensure you feel comfortable. Please strongly consider utilizing Therasoft not only for their documentation and appointment calendar elements, but also their website design and enhanced billing elements.

It has been my past experience with EMR/EHRs that once you subscribe and sign on, I am left to my own devices to figure out how to actually use the software. Not so with THERASOFT. My concerns and needs have been met by professionals who really care and strive to assist me in every way.

Comments: less complicated and faster than my previous practice management program. support has been great when I run into a problem I can't resolve. Not only are my questions answered, but support is immediate. In the past there were false entries made into a patient's account. I don't believe that is still an issue.

Comments: I have loved this since I changed from another program 5 years ago. Many of the changes over the years have been great improvements on an already good product. There are a couple things I would like to address. 1) It would make my life easier if alternating hours were in a shade just off white so I can see the time changes more easily. I have looked at my schedule and don't realize I am starting an hour later or earlier due to lines being all the same color.
2) I have requested this before- a button on top to put waitlist clients. I cannot fit everyone in consistently and would like a place to put people's names in case I have a cancellation. Otherwise

Comments: Just one con: the price is the high compared with the others sofware avaliable.
Pros: easy to lear, great assistance, excellent customer services - Irina is patjient, sweet, deficated. Billing department is SUPER, no words to thanks the billing department because they fixed my billing system. I used to have an employee but she didn't know what she was doing and I lost a lot of $ . All payment are received in direct deposit, insurance are checked before my first session, information are entered the system whiteout a waiting time. If I fax a initial assessment with the client information , it is added to therasoft before the end of the day. The insurance information is provided in a couple hours, to give me the option to accept or not the insurance. I am very happy with the full package. Thanks for the awesome work, and worried free! Plus all my colleges are worried about the new DSM V and therasoft provided the most peaceful, easy transition from DSM IV to V and I am very relax when every one I know is going to trainings, can not und e stand what is going on and all my clients already have the new code! Comments: It's streamlined my billing and saved what took hours of account management. Clients love the appointment reminders (I do wish there was a quicker way to schedule the reminders to automatically send as I often find clicking each indiv. Appt is cumbersome).

I've noticed that there seem to be glitches whenever insurance posts and it take a couple days for it to register correctly in the system.

Comments: I have used several types of EHR systems throughout my career and choosing TheraSoft for my private practice has been a great investment each and every month, though it is still expensive. If it weren't for the option on the A1 or "all in one" window to give you a grand client balance of what they owe somewhere on the screen (not just for the session), I'd give it a 4.5 star. so, I'm giving it a 3.75 star. I also would like the "standard" note to be able to have a subject line so that it can be named and this way quickly know what major events occurred at each particular session. If you use the claims submission option, the reconciliation that occurs sure makes my job easier. The system knows how much to write off when the ERA/EOBs are received electronically.

Comments: I've used Therasoft Online for several years and I'm very happy overall. There are many pros, but I appreciate knowing my HIPPA compliance is covered. I love having insurance filing be so quick and easy. All billing payments, whether from insurance or credit cards, are automatically credited to the client's account. That is a huge time saver! I love the 1 page attendance, payment, insurance file, progress note. Perfect! In terms of customer service, Jas, Irina and Petra have been responsive and wonderful! Others seem to need more training to be able to answer questions. The credit card processing rates are fair, as are Therasoft's fees. There is cheaper software, but they don't seem to include as many features. I believe Therasoft covers everything.

Overall, my only con is that it's often not aesthetically pleasing, but I feel that its getting somewhat better. Buttons/boxes/fonts/colors/flow of use are not very elegant or intuitive. There is a huge learning curve in using it! I'll be specific about other cons, in hopes that they can be easily changed.

I'd like to find tutorial videos for all the features (i.e. how to set up groups/sessions-it's confusing).

I'd like a photo to pop up of each type of report. They have similar names and I have to create many before I find the one layout I need. The reports could also be more aesthetically pleasing.

Sessions can't be deleted without first deleting the payment then going to the attendance tab and deleting again. I'd like to see attendance be cancelled/deleted while the payment is maintained/moved to deposit. Sessions can't be deleted from the mobile app.

There was a time when my insurance claims were being hung up in Emdeon and I had no knowledge of Emdeon or it's role - again a tutorial would be good. I lost money in this situation. Maybe if a claim gets hung up there, an alert would appear in Therasoft notifying that something needed to be addressed.

I would like to be able to customize my website myself (like I could do with Intuit) Having access to a templet where I could post seasonal announcements, change photos, etc. would be great!

Comments: I have used this product for about 4 years. As a Solo Practitioner, I was looking for something that was not devoted to medical practice because I did not need the extras. This fit the bill. It has helped to streamline my practice, particularly billing. I am able to track my clients from beginning to end with the treatment tools. The only "glitch" is that my ERA's with UBH are not always available in the View EOB tab. That means I see the deposit and have to go to the insurer's web page to see which client was paid. It has been a interesting to be a part of the evolution of this product. The customer service is second to none!

Comments: My practice does not take advantage of the full software capabilities, however what we use is most helpful! We never have issues with large learning curves when new admin come on board.
They are continuing to add new features and make the product competitive.

Comments: Generally i have had a good experience. I love that my notes and client information are always with me without really being with me. I mostly use the therapy note and would encourage you to add a box for "other " under problems/issues and also under interventions. There are times that none of the boxes is sufficient. Also a discharge summary would be good as an option in the note category (drop down with other notes). It may exist somewhere else, but have not looked. My fault. Also i would really like to use the treatment planning, but it is just to encompassing and overwhelming. I have done one or two, but the amount of time it took was not worth it. Perhaps something shorter that can be written in independently by the therapist. The choices are nice, but don't always fit. Also have tried to use background intake questionaire, but again rather large and not geared to children as much. I however will continue to try some of these things because you offer so much! I would recommend it to any therapist.

Comments: Pros - it electronically handles insurance, it autofills, customer service is always helpful, the programming department is always willing to make changes to better fit our needs, they are ICD-10 ready! :)

Cons - it is not very user friendly.

We have a very unique practice, so I understand that finding software for our particular needs is going to be tricky. I appreciate all that therasoft does to try and meet the needs of our practice. At our practice we run several group therapy sessions. Finding individuals in the groups is ridiculously difficult. We have to know the name and date of the group in order to find a particular individual. Ideally we should be able to find the client under the 'individual' tab, and there should be a list of appointment as well as group therapy schedule. We also have several clients that have their bills paid by a third party. Some of them like to share the cost. Therasoft is incapable of accurately splitting the bill. We have tried using the provided percentage option, and it does not calculate accurately. We would also like to be able to put money on deposit and have it held for that particular date. (For example, we have had clients pay for the full session before we know if insurance will cover the cost. It would be nice to be able to put that money on deposit, but have it held for only that session date (obviously, with the option to easily move it to another day).) When there is money just sitting in the deposit account it is difficult to know when it got placed there and why it is placed there. We also have had several customer complains in regards to the bill. It is difficult for them to read and understand. It is also difficult for us when they tear off the bottom portion and mail it into us, it does not give any dates that that bill is in regards to. It would also be nice to be able to edit a payment once it has been added. There have been several times when I enter in the payment information, only to discover after the fact that I put in the wrong date, or the wrong transaction number, then I have to delete the whole payment and start over.
Overall, we use therasoft because it is the best software for our billing needs. However, I do feel like it is challenging to get around. We actually use a secondary software program for our therapists and clients to keep track of appointments because of the way it looks, its ease of use, and the ability for clients to book their own appointments online.

Comments: It's difficult to think of a more comprehensive software available for therapists to run a private practice, in terms of variability of options for charting, assessments, and treatment plans. It also excels in terms of its intuitive interface from the calendar, which makes it very easy for new therapists to learn. We've been using Therasoft for over three and a half years and, on the whole, have a limited number of complaints, but the complaints we do have are significant.

The first problem area would be in terms of tracking aging claims. There is no clear and comprehensive way to manage aging claims in Therasoft. While there are multiple areas to manage claims from within Therasoft, there exists no simple way to manage bulk claims, aside from cobbling together effective methodology from the various reports that Therasoft generates in the form of excel spreadsheets.

The second area that I would give Therasoft poor marks in would be in relationship to secondary insurances, as Therasoft offers no mechanism to track secondary insurance claims. While we've developed our own internal procedures for tracking these, it currently can┬┐t be done with Therasoft alone.

In addition, Therasoft offers its own merchant account for credit card transactions. Unfortunately, Therasoft's merchant account services offer no itemized report for what you are being charged on a per transaction basis. The reports available within Therasoft often seem to disagree with one another and do not always match bank account deposits. While I have called and emailed about this, it has never been fully resolved and remains an ongoing problem.

Which leads me to my final criticism. Responsiveness. While I have to give really high marks to Petra, Irina, and Gene over at Therasoft (they are super-helpful for day to day challenges that might arise), problems related to Therasoft's functionality are rarely addressed in a timely manner. Jas is the only person within Therasoft that seems to have the ability to edit, alter, or fix Therasoft when it comes to matters of core functionality, and his responsiveness has become increasingly limited.

Therasoft offers a better array of exceptional components than most of the competition does, despite my above complaints, and I still believe they offer enough functionality to make their software my first choice, though I think it worth a prospective customer's time to investigate the needs of their practice before making a decision.

Comments: Thus far, we have been fairly satisfied with our experience with Therasoft. The pros have been being able to bill insurance directly and in just a few clicks. I also enjoy that we can develop treatment plans (all though I think some more finessing could be done there), send assessments to clients online (LOVE this feature), as well as having the ability to remind clients of appointments via email and text.

Cons would probably be the lack of ease at billing secondary insurance companies. I don't like having to print things off, then delete claims. Too many steps and too much time to take to do this. I also have not been satisfied with how billing is handled. Initially we were able to be billed automatically and our cards charged. Now I have to pay w/a card EACH month. I know, first world problems....but it was nice having an automatic payment set up. It's frustrating that this isn't an option anymore. Treatment Plans would be improved by autosuggesting treatment options specific for the client's diagnosis. This was one thing that Therascribe did that we really enjoyed. This is a little con too, but the eye appeal of Therasoft is not very high....some fine tuning on web design would be nice. (little things, but you asked for an honest review....) Overall, it's working fairly well. Having training videos available for specific issues that come up recurrently, that we can watch at our leisure, would be beneficial too.

Comments: We had used several cumbersome programs, before finding Therasoft. I must say it's the easiest program to use. We were able to customize it to our small practice and as the practice has grown, Therasoft remained flexible and more than adequate for our needs. Comments: TheraSoft offers an enormous amount of features and reports - to the point of feeling quite overwhelming at first. However, because they are SO responsive to questions and requests for support, I have quickly become comfortable with it. I continue to learn new things it can do.

So far, I haven't found many things it can't do. I'd like to see them add automatic appointment reminders so that I don't have to remember to send out reminders. However, that is the only feature I can think of that I'm missing in this software.

Before we chose this practice management software, I researched all of them. I used to use TherapyAppointment (when it was just me in my practice) and I liked it for the most part, but I feel the additional expense for TheraSoft is justified by the many additional features, especially for a group practice.

We use a custom software package. It does what we what it to do, and modifications are timely.

Comments: Our client records are maintained on TheraSoft's sercure servers and our counselors have access to all client records via secure internet connection from any or our campus locations. We are able to query our data base to get infromatin about client outcomes, referrals, demographics, etc. TheraSoft has been able to incorperate some of their programs into our data base to ensure an audit trail for client progress notes and treatment plans. We are very satisfied with our relationship with TheraSoft.

Comments: I think when Jas et al designed the software the guiding principle must've been "make it work". In the seven years or so that I've been using Therasoft it has always worked. It perhaps isn't the most fancy, it doesn't do everything I want, or everything the way I want it to, but it does everything I need without fail. That said, when I do have an idea and I give them a call, they actually try to incorporate it into the software. Amazing! My point is, problems I have with the design of the software are easily outweighed by the responsiveness and competence of the customer service.

Comments: - I wish Therasoft would send us an email regarding the updates they do on the program. The only way I know about the updates is when I go to do something and it's changed.
- I'd like to be able to go "Personal" to input something then be able to return to the same week I'm using instead of it returning to the current week.
- When I'm using one screen for a client and I want to view a different screen for that same client, it takes me to the "A's" and I have to start all over again.
- When I have an issue and I call Therasoft, they are very helpful, friendly and solve my program issues promptly.

Comments: I like that Therasoft is accessible from anywhere, and is a HIPPA compliant system for storing patient health information. However, I do not experience Therasoft as user friendly. Cryptic system functions and instructions are the major drawback to the online system, and a need to update system forms that are less pejorative and more sensitive to those served in mental health settings.
Also, I would love if there was a way to have a task list for completing paperwork (e.g., reminders to complete progress notes/intake reports). This function was available with a different system I have used in the past, and it was so helpful for when things get really busy. It would pop up at log-in until all the tasks were completed.

The software served our purposes in the beginning, but as we grew, the cost became prohibitive.

Comments: Lately, the customer service has been terrible. As Therasoft grew, we were not able to get our issues resolved as quickly and thouroughly. The user interface is also not great. It is hard to teach and not intuitive. It doesn't have a professional look. In addition, it's too expensive for interns. The apps are underperforming and don't do all that it would be helpful for them to do.

Comments: Therasoft has been a great tool to manage our business. It provides end-to-end capability and makes it a seemless process from customer pre-registration all the way through counselor notes and then to final payment.

If I could wish for something, it would be some written documentation on how to some things.

Customer service has been terrific! Very quick response and thorough follow up. I always get a usable solution to my questions.

Comments: Customer service is good, always polite. Program is some what difficult to use. I know I not using the program to its full potential because I'm not sure how. Power points to train how to use program would be helpful or a how to booklet for reference to look up how to use the program. Program should cost less first few months while building a caseload, maybe price dependent on number of clientele would be a good selling point.

Comments: I love the calendar and the process buttons that turn colors so you can tell where everything is at with a quick glance. I would love to be able to build my own reports as I can never figure out exactly what data elements are in the reports that are generated. I would love to have the capacity to enter assessments such as the ASI, GAINS, etc into the system and have a report generated that could be edited for final report. Staff at Therasoft are AMAZING!
