Pros

Software is truly a "one stop shop" for all you might need to run your practice. They have thought of everything. They are so helpful in getting you set up. You feel like they are a true partner who knows you and is working with you. Instead of the usual calling random people at a call center. For the price you can't beat all that they are offering you.

Cons

The software can be difficult to use/understand. It's not intuitive, but there is always someone there to assist you quickly and easily and once I'm walked through it, it's easy from there.

I love the system/software package. Its a little costly however everything is a one stop shop and I like that idea.

Pros

I like the fact that I can get everything I need in one program (notes, treatment plans, scheduler, client portal - reminders, billing and website).

Cons

It's hard to follow when trying to set appointments, or do a phone intake. No one is available after 5:00 pm. I had a client in front of me and couldn't access the system. I had to wait for someone to call me back. Also, I'm having a hard time with my password when trying to access the system from a different computer, lab top, or phone. I have multiple systems and need to be able to access the system from either.

First, let me Proclaim that I am so very pleased with Therasoft. I have enjoyed all the amenities that are and is offered. The learning curve is almost nonexistent. I appreciate being able to access from the laptop, phone, tablet, etc. Therasoft has saved me hours of paperwork and stress. I appreciate being able to upload homework assignments as well as educational materials and the convenience of having everything in a central location. Customer service is amazing, I can get a Live person or a call back from a Live person if I call. I get a response via email within 24 no later than 48 business hours. I appreciate being able to acquire signatures online. I appreciate that there are no hidden fees. I recommend and will continue to recommend Therasoft to clinicians, groups, and agencies. L. D. I work with two independent practitioners. I also helped a third who was also affected when our billing person was killed in an ATV accident 9/15. We were having real difficulties with billing plus dealing with the grief of losing Katherine. A colleague recommended Therasoft to us. With the help of Irina, then Petra, we were able to get back on our feet. They fielded so many questions from me. I had no experience with insurance companies or billing. They were so patient. Even now, if I have a question or issue, Petra is quick to respond and help me out of whatever fix I have gotten into. My one ongoing frustration is that I still do not understand Emdeon and what they want on forms, etc. I think I have submitted one set of forms 6 or 7 times and somehow it is still what is not needed. I have submitted the forms one more time w/corrections Petra gave me. Jury is out on whether or not these are correct. This is a minor frustration compared to all the help, support, and encouragement I have received. Three practices were kept from going under by this assistance.

Outstanding program designed just for the needs of therapists. My biggest problem is trying to keep up with my number of referrals but I am in process of hiring additional staff. It's like my iphone in that after using it a year, there are still aspects for me to learn.

Pros

Consolidation and standardization of patient information Link with website provides patient registration and access to intake forms Outstanding customer support Has helped practice grow One touch billing really works for all insurances which accept electronic billing The intake system impresses new patients

Cons

There is a glitch whereby on the list of registered patients, one must go to view all clients to select the desired patient because the prepopulated section yields an unwanted duplicate. EAP insurors don't all accept electronic billing yet. One often has to clck a second time to effect a screen change.

Would highly recommend for any solo practitioner such as myself-helps keep me on task, I get paid faster and the client file is up to date. Plan accordingly to switch over to system so there is little lag time for you in notes or pay.

Pros

Pros are numerous: ease of use, library of notes and treatment plans. Helped me streamline my biling process while incorporating my therapuetic notes. I like that it is stored securely away from my office. Customer service was and is excellent-always appreciate the time they take with me when I goof up! Very affordable as well.

Cons

At times the system is not as smooth as I would like it-moving from screen to screen can be frustrating. The reports are helpful, especially aging billing and notes but it takes a bit of "poking" around to find the right one. I would like the area where you note the next appt to synch with the calendar.

I have used several types of EHR systems throughout my career and choosing TheraSoft for my private practice has been a great investment each and every month, though it is still expensive. If it weren't for the option on the A1 or "all in one" window to give you a grand client balance of what they owe somewhere on the screen (not just for the session), I'd give it a 4.5 star. so, I'm giving it a 3.75 star. I also would like the "standard" note to be able to have a subject line so that it can be named and this way quickly know what major events occurred at each particular session. If you use the claims submission option, the reconciliation that occurs sure makes my job easier. The system knows how much to write off when the ERA/EOBs are received electronically.

The biggest pro is the excellent customer service: Consistent, honest, and excellent follow through. This is a priority for me. Customer Service Reps who follow through on agreements. I can't tell you enough how important is is that I trust the people behind the product. Too many products have poor or non-existent customer support, once they hook you into the payment. Thank you for being patient with my million questions, needs, and consistent billing practices. Cons: The EHR has many, many boxes, some redundancy with fields. This comes with the territory with an EHR. I've touched many products, so Therasoft isn't over the top in this area. I tend to be simple kind of gal, but I'm aware a lot of clinicians prefer the drop downs and the boxes. So I'm ok.... It's always a beginning learning curve. The Merchant account transferred money quickly, and I love sending the receipt over mail. Nice! My electronic claims have also been quickly accepted. Which is another excellent result of the software. Good Work.

We've been using Therasoft in our practice with 12 or more therapists for over a year. This software program maintains HIPAA compliance and promotes a paperless office. The scheduling calendar, electronic bill submission and posting EOBs have made our office more efficient and accurate. Our clients love their email and text appointment reminders! Clinically, the treatment plans, quick notes, and discharge summaries are comprehensive and easy to use. We have received outstanding customer service as they respond to our needs quickly. The Therasoft team is on top of the latest upgrades to make the system even more efficient and user friendly. We strongly recommend a small private practice like ours to start using Therasoft to make their office staff and therapist's lives easier!

The Customer Service I receive from Irina is superb. She always responds to my emails quickly and she is always friendly. I am not all that impressed with the product itself. The ideology is great but there are often glitches. The scheduling calendar is pretty easy but sometimes it will not accept an appointment unless I enter it as a psychotherapy 60 min session, then once I get it on the calendar I have to go back and change it to the correct session description. I don't know why individuals who in individual therapy have to be under the group tab as well. Entering new clients or editing existing clients demographics and insurance information is pretty simple as well. Running reports are pretty simple too. Payments by check or cash rarely give me issues. The credit card processing has given me some issues as well. The card reader often does not scan and I have to enter the information manually. There has been a couple of times that a person has been billed more than once for the same session.

This has been a horrible experience. I am now using simple practice with no billing issues.

Pros

I prefer simple practice features and billing department.

Cons

A colleague warned me about the billing and loss of patient information that he had with this company. I am glad that after the free trial I did not purchase, but I let them continue with my website. The website did not use my domain that I purchased and put it on their website service after I had already purchased business cards. I specifically told them I wanted to use my domain. Then they kept billing my credit card and lied and said they do not have a card on file and had me send them a payment manually. When I decided to cancel, they said it was cancelled. Then they billed me again. I sent them copies of the fraudulent billing and still no refund issued.

Generally i have had a good experience. I love that my notes and client information are always with me without really being with me. I mostly use the therapy note and would encourage you to add a box for "other " under problems/issues and also under interventions. There are times that none of the boxes is sufficient. Also a discharge summary would be good as an option in the note category (drop down with other notes). It may exist somewhere else, but have not looked. My fault. Also i would really like to use the treatment planning, but it is just to encompassing and overwhelming. I have done one or two, but the amount of time it took was not worth it. Perhaps something shorter that can be written in independently by the therapist. The choices are nice, but don't always fit. Also have tried to use background intake questionaire, but again rather large and not geared to children as much. I however will continue to try some of these things because you offer so much! I would recommend it to any therapist.

I have been a Therasoft Online user for over a year. I bought the system because they had great tutorials online, were competitively priced, and the system is and was streamlined and easy to use. During the last year, I had been delighted by ease of use, from setting up appointments, to progress notes, which lead to automatic billing. The system receives EOBs so income can be entered with a click of a button. If need be you can generate paper bills, but I seem to have no need for them. If you are a larger institution you will appreciate their various reports which the system can generate. My favorite feature is the online form which new patients can complete with their demographic information - name, address, ins information. No more in office forms and typing in information. I find that patients don't mind at all. The only downside for some is that it is not set up for Psychiatrists, so no prescription software. Check out the price! I keep telling them they don't charge enough!

The software provides a very good structure for clinical assessments, treatment plans and progress notes. Once learned, it is easy to use. We believe the company is continuing to work to improve the software. Sometimes responsiveness to email requests or questions is slow. Sometimes the software runs slow. Sometimes we lose assessments, treatment plans and notes in the middle - "it just goes away". Sometimes when scheduling appointments, the client information will not populate. Sometimes when we enter an appointment, it goes to a different date and time than was entered. We wish the software included reminders or alerts for the expiration of treatment plans, non-attendance of clients and discharge of clients. We wish there were an easier way of having accounts receivable reports that through "company billing export report" - this report is good in that we can isolate the information that we want, but we have to go through so many steps each time to simply prepare the report.

Meets my billing needs. I would like to see changes so that I can use the program for more of my practice's needs.

Pros

Get paid quickly. Structure is intiuitive. Many helpful features. Good response to our feedback.

Cons

The calendar is hard to use, as you cannot make changes quickly. Also as a practice that does evaluation and needs to sometimes schedule two apts at the same time, it will not let you do so. A calendar more like google's would be great!!! Billing reports can be difficult to use and often have oddities (ie. not in date order). Occasional gliches (i.e. prints parent instead of client name on the bill if credit card option is endorsed). Progress notes- only have spell check if you are using Mozilla and spell check does not automatically fix commonly mispelled words.

Staff support is there strong point. I am starting to look at other programs out there. I'm new at EMR and so some of the problems I am facing may be similiar with other online EMR programs. I don't know.

Pros

Learning and setting up the program was easy. The support staff are great. I love the fact that with one quick look at the calendar I can see if I have done my progress notes and posted payments. The set up for quick progress notes is easy

Cons

Scheduling is slow, too many clicks to get to the date and the client. There isn't a feature in place to easily see when the next available appointment is. They are still working out problems with the accounting system, nothing major but time consuming to fix. When printing off progress notes it did not print off all the information from the checked boxes.

I have been a counselor for over twenty years and began researching online practice management systems two years ago. I have been with Therasoft for six months and believe its the best option out there due to all that it has to offer. I have been pleasantly surprised that when you share a need and/or suggest a possible adjustment to the system, that it actually gets considered and incorporated into the regular improvement updates. Therasoft seems to have a great interest and dedication with keeping up with the most up to date needs of practitioners. Counseling is more my expertise rather than billing and accounting. I have found that I have been able to have great billing/accounting support from Petra, a set-up and support specialist at Therasoft. Wether it's the first time or second time that I'm learning something, its always pleasant and informative. Petra, thank you for your help and guidance about how to utilize and get the most from all that Therasoft has to offer.

I love that I can login and access Therasoft from any computer system. It is HIPAA compliant so I don't worry about confidentiality issues. Some of the other pros include the extensive choices of goals and objectives under the treatment plans, the ease of electronic billing, and easy flow of the system. My favorite change in the past year is he ability to enter multiple payments in one billing entry - this saves so much time! My only con is that there is no system to automatically save progress notes. Every once in awhile I will be typing a lengthy progress note (especially if it is the first session) and when I go to close it, I discover I have lost it. This generally happens when I briefly lose my internet connection at some point during the typing. It is incredibly frustrating. I think this good be avoided with an automatic saving of the progress note after a certain period of time (i.e. 60 seconds).
