Pros: Each employee has his/her own access to clock in/out. The feature of supervisor approval is neat. It allows shift differential rate, bonus, all kinds of deductions. All employee info, benefits and rate could be stored in one place.

Cons: The report library has too many reports, and the filter doesn't work. I had a hard time to find reports to meet my needs, and it's very hard to customize reports. No training program.

Comments: I really like Paylocity, it is a wonderful product when used as intended.

Pros: It has some really great features, you can upload documents and tie them to an employee. It is also very easy to use.

Cons: Great for a company with around 500-1,500, not so much once the company gets bigger and more complicated it is hard to make custom modification.

Pros: Paylocity is very easy to use. It houses all of your payroll and employee information. Customer service is great, and there are plenty of ATS's that integrate with it.

Cons: Paylocity provides an organizational chart. It looks ok, but could be more comprehensive/better looking.

Comments: The team approach to customer care is phenomenal!

Pros: Intuitive platform that is both administrator friendly and end user friendly. The mobile app that is enabled with geo position finder software is genius. We no longer have to worry about fraudulent punch ins from home or from the road.

Cons: The performance management module is a bit daunting to navigate. This is one area where I would prefer to hand over the reigns to a developer to create what I need.

Pros: Does what you need to track employee time and pay rates. Can do other features need in time approval.

Cons: Difficult to navigate and find need info. Compared to other similar software, I find it difficult to figure out what Im looking to accomplish.

Pros: Everything can be done electronically and reduce paperwork. I can run reports easily; a lot are already created in templates.

Cons: The information being captured from the recruiting module for different recruitment companies isn't available or sometimes incorrect.

Pros: I am able to see all employees hours and if the are clocked in. The ease of each employee to enter for vacation days is nice as well

Cons: They only cons that i have found with this software is to search for past checks. I would just like to see pictures instead of just dates

Comments: Being able to call for assistance and reach someone who could help was fantastic.

Pros: This software is fairly intuitive and has good reporting functions. The ability for employees to make updates to their own data (address, deductions, etc) is very nice, and only requires that I approve the changes rather than having to enter them myself.

Cons: The time and attendance module did not have fluid flow of information to the payroll module; meaning available PTO shown to the employee was not always what was available.

Comments: User friendly, nice interface, fast system

Pros: Customer service is the best I've ever encounters. The system is so user-friendly that new users become professional within a short time frame

Pros: Ease of use. Great basic payroll system that's easy to understand and navigate. A good value for a basic system.

Cons: Lacks bells & whistles. System training is locking. Questions of any substance cannot be answered by the presenter.

Paylocity is a good sound basic payroll and HRIS system.

Comments: Nothing wrong with it. But not the overall most mature system. In 5 years it will probably be awesome.

Pros: Ease of use and customer service is pretty good. From a cost perspective they are very competitive.

Cons: The extras like performance management and ATS areas are too basic and not mature. The sales people are a little to eager.

Comments: time off section is very confusing for employees

Pros: has most needed functions in one place - time off request and approval, reviews, benefits, payroll details which eliminates many questions.

Cons: not always user friendly. the time off accrued section is quite convoluted and difficult to interpret. Passwords are difficult to remember

Comments: My company has been with Paylocity for 6 years and I've been there for almost 2 years. I did not receive formal training with this software, so I asked for it. They're response was "we have on-demand training online, administrator, and employee guides." Don't know how much my company paid initially to partner up with this company, but whatever the cost, definitley not worth it.

Pros: CSR's are nice and friendly, and always make you feel like the problem is resolved, only to be disappointed when you find out it's not.

Comments: Good company easy to use website

Pros: Great product, easy to use and move through Always have training on all of the new parts that are added to it weekly to keep up with competitors.

Cons: The only con I have seen is the customer service. We had issues with the team that we were given and had to complain for about a year before we were switched to a new group but now it is much better with the new group//

Pros: Third party products integrate easily, modules and dashboards are simple and user friendly, includes tons of standard reports

Cons: Customer support has been steadily declining. We've been tossed around to at least four different account managers in the past 18 months, and if we get a good one they get promoted or leave, so we end up with someone that barely knows the system better than we do. The response time to questions we submit via email has also worsened to more than 24 hours for a simple reply for clarification. We don't even bother trying to get help from our assigned account manager, we just call the 800 number and hope whoever picks up will be able to resolve our issue. If we call back with the same issue and get someone else, we sometimes get a different answer.

Pros: I liked that the system was esy to get used to and easy to navigate. The system was workable and customizable as well

Cons: Customer service was the worst. I don't think it was the people but the fact that it was a small company taking on too many clients.

Pros: The customer service is fantastic and really easy to work with. I like the company. As to the software, it does what I need it to. They process the payroll on time and without errors. Getting it setup can be time consuming but once it is setup, fairly easy to use. I am also an internet based business with employees in several different states. They are able to process payroll for all of the tax jurisdictions down to the local level. The software saves me countless hours every month/year.

Cons: The software doesn't 'just work' for a couple of reasons. The first, you can screw the system up and there are plenty of ways to do so. You have to know how it works, so the system isn't dummy proof. Second, there are a few items where you have to game the system to get it to work. As in, if you don't put a check mark here it won't do what you want but it isn't intuitive enough to know you need that check mark.

It isn't the best for small business. And I do get the feeling the system is built for larger enterprises. There are a few minor features missing that I have used in other systems that help run a small team. Like being able to sync my outlook calendar to PTO requests or birthdays. You can export those dates, but it won't automatically show up in your calendar like other systems do.

While there is a portal for employees, my employees have a hard time understanding how to use it. It isn't super complicated but also not super intuitive. I don't have a problem as the administrator of the system because I am in there all of the time. But for employees that might log in once every couple of months, it can be kinda annoying for them.

Overall: It processes payroll down to the local level accurately and on time. The system can also track employee performance which we use for routine employee reviews. It is nice having an all in one solution for my HR needs.

Comments: Customer service is quick to respond. I would recommed it for companies with under 500 employees

Pros: Paylocity can be setup to reflect the specific needs of your company. It is easy to learn and to use.

Cons: Some fields require specific attention to detail to work properly. The self service portal is not intuitive-it has to be explained to users

Pros: Amount of functionality of system for dollars spent. It is a good system, and the implementation process is very organized and has a high level of customer support. This was my 2nd implementation of Paylocity at my employer...and both times they did not disappoint.

Cons: As the title of the review states, there is always room for improvement in any HRIS...but Paylocity does a great job in taking a hard look at issues and resolving them timely.

Pros: WebPay is easy to use both for the admin and for the employees. It's layout is very intuitive and any time something is unclear, there are so many easy options for assistance. Every page has detailed searchable user guides readily available. Customer support is also amazing if you ever need to call in.

Cons: There really aren't any major areas that I would say I don't like much within WebPay. It's a great product overall.

Pros: Payroll changes are easy. Integration with our 401k provider and Employee Navigator for benefits enrollments/updates works well. Support usually answers quickly.

Cons: We have exempt employees on semi-monthly pay group and non-exempt employees on bi-weekly pay group. The PTO tracking system does NOT WORK with this configuration. Their only "solution" is to run a report each time you process payroll to see which employees have a PTO anniversary that falls within that period and enter a penny check if they aren't part of that particular pay run so that their PTO will reset. It is absurd to base PTO rollovers on whether or not an employee got paid in the payrun that includes their anniversary. And an employee shouldn't have to wait for payrun to see their new balance - ie if your anniversary is on 6/3 but payroll runs 6/15, you can't see your correct balance until 6/15. Further, it took more than 6 months of complaining that PTO accruals weren't working properly for them to finally admit the issue. Got many many different answers depending on who I talked with. However, they say this is a perfectly logical way of handling and have no plans to revise the process. Software should never require such a manual operation. Funny it will clear the old balance, but it won't update with the new bank of PTO hours. This has been a nightmare, and we are looking for alternative solution. A shame since we like most of the other features. I will say that the reports system is not very good either. You can convert some reports to Excel, but they do not format in a way that makes sense. Looks like a .pdf got dumped into a spreadsheet.

Pros: User friendly and does have step by step flows. Good price and works well for payroll. I would recommend for smaller companies.

Cons: It has been a few years since I have used but it seemed outdated even at that time. I would say it is not that great for high volume or large businesses, at least the version we used.

Pros: It's very easy to complete Payroll. It typically only takes me a couple hours and I never have any errors.

Cons: I hate running reports. They are very complicated and I hardly ever wind up with what I was trying to accomplish.

Pros: Paylocity has enabled our organization to export very complex and detailed GL import files for the payroll journal entries. No other payroll software we looked at (Paychex, ADP, Quickbooks) offered functionality that even came close. Furthermore, they post the charges and refunds to our bank in bulk charges (by payroll) which makes the reconciles much easier and the tying out of the transactions to the payroll Journal Entry quick and easy. In my experience with ADP for example, there were hundreds of transactions that would hit the bank and I would end up calling customer support almost every payroll to determine what the charges were actually for.

Cons: Creating custom reports can be, at times, more confusing than I would like. That said, I have successfully created many custom reports and a lot of the difficulty is due to the number of earning, tax, and deduction codes that we have (164+ different types of earning, taxes, and other deductions).

Pros: The platform was easy to learn and easy to use. You could look up employees in many ways. Reporting was easy.

Cons: The system is not easy for businesses with multiple entities. Searching for and creating entities was difficult.

Pros: Processing and submitting payroll through Paylocity is the quickest and most intuitive I have ever used.

Cons: Unfortunately, for being a software company there is way too many "glitches". One of the biggest issues I have seen is there is some sort of IT glitch in PTO accruals. The time off policy calculates earned PTO some times then other times it's non-existent requiring a call to the call center to be researched. Recruiting and on-boarding doesn't always work and the obstacle seems to always be someone else fault. Reporting library is the worse I have ever used; not user friendly or practical. Paylocity has a problem with following through on sales promises.

Pros: Paylocity has decent functionality. A number of different features, including payroll, human resources, benefits administration.

Cons: Customer service can be very frustrating. Also, the differences between Web Time and Web Pay can be very confusing. The site layout is not very user friendly, and there are often elements that should be in the hands of the company administrator, but require Paylocity to make changes on their end. We are currently researching alternatives.

Pros: Paylocity is easy to use and allows our school to effectively manage a payroll of 200+ employees on a by-monthly basis. You can rely on pre-designed reports or you can create your own report depending on your needs. Our customer service representative is very responsive and knowledgeable about Paylocity's features. Our employees can create personal accounts to track their paystubs, W2 forms and payroll information. Our school also uses Paylocity services to complete Federal and State taxes quarterly reporting which is very helpful because we can rest assured that reports are being filed on a timely and accurate manner. Their processing fees are very competitive when compared to other providers. Overall, we are very pleased with Paylocity.

Pros: What do we know (and not know) about using paylocity? Cannot be answered until we attempt to obtain information and establish outcome-related analytical performance goals in using the product, thereby evaluating the outcome of the data within the system.

Pros: Ease of use. Infomatics are superior to other products on the market. Can customize to meet your specific needs.

Cons: I really like the software. I wasn't expecting such a tedious implementation process.

Overall: We recently made the switch to Paylocity. We've used the web pay system to successfully run multiple payrolls. The auto-pay feature is a time saver. I no longer have to deal with dual entry of information. The system is easy to use. The options are endless. You can tailor it to meet your specific needs. I am so glad we made the switch to Paylocity!

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are looking to make a change from your current payroll provider, I would recommend you take a look at Paylocity. I am so happy I did.

Comments: I have found the onboarding to be very helpful, as well as having access to employee files electronically

Pros: Eliminates having to keep mountains of paperwork for each employee. The onboarding process is way easier than what we were doing before. Easily keeps track of employee info.

Cons: Glitches in the onboarding process, ie. when trying to move on to the next task you are sometimes timed out of the program, employees not receiving emails necessary to begin onboarding in a timely manner.

Recommendations to other buyers: If the glitches and program errors are fixed I would highly recommend.

Comments: The payroll with Paylocity is great. I find the program easy to understand up to be user-friendly. Some of the perks that were sold to me when meeting with the salesperson are not actually available in the system. The ACA tool is not very helpful, it does not track if my employees are hitting - or not hitting- the parameters we are asked to put into the system at setup. There are a lot of errors that I am finding now that I feel should have been set up during my Paylocity onboarding. The service team is fine but I wish with some of the larger issues they would take the initiative to help me change the setup. I have a busy schedule and I find myself spending hours fixing issues in the system that I feel like Paylocity should be doing instead.

Pros: Onboarding Payroll Birthday and Anniversary tracking Great Reporting Tools

Cons: The set up should have been more comprehensive. I spend a lot of my own time fixing issues that were not set up properly. Paylocity sells you more than they actually offer.

Recommendations to other buyers: This is a good system. I know they are working to make it better. I am willing to stick it out because of what they currently offer plus what I think they will offer in the future.

Comments: No one from the company can figure out why this doesn't work on my galaxy s7. But it works on iphones. I use it at my desk. Sometimes without an error the time sheet wont accept a time even though it has been done exactly like the others. I'll have several people review it and they say they can't see an error. Comments: Paylocity is payroll + HR cloud based software. It has been very beneficial when running 5 locations as I can access emp files/ create checks/ check on benefit status/ etc. from anywhere. Almost everything about their system can be customized. I have cut down my paperwork to almost half with their onboarding system which allows new hires to docu sign any thing you wish to include in your on boarding package.

Pros: -reduced risk of lost paperwork -Onboarding system does EE01 reporting and Everify -payroll is simple and easy to use

Cons: Customer Service needs some work they tend to bounce you around to different acct managers a lot

Pros: WebPay has a large amount of reports that are easy to pull and use. Their customer service is very responsive and easy to get in touch with either through email or phone call.

Cons: I know it's probably necessary but there are so many screens that sometimes the information can be overwhelming if you aren't sure how to use it.

Overall: We started in WebPay in June of this year. It has been a relatively seamless experience especially switching from doing our own payroll to outsourcing it.

Comments: A few months ago I was given the responsibility of running payroll. Without having previous experience processing payroll I was concerned I was up against an impossible task. Webpay is intuitive to use, and is a pretty slick tool in my opinion. Haven't been in the Payroll game for long, but so far, so good with Webtime. The support provided by their team is phenomenal; they're patient and kind and helpful. I do wish there was a chat feature but that, at this juncture, is my only complaint.

Comments: We have used Paylocity for the past 2 years now. We are on our 4th account manager. It's been an uphill battle the last year for us. The product was implemented prior to my joining the company, by someone not in HR, as a result, (this could be our fault as well) I come across a lot of mistakes that need to be corrected. I can't tell what's wrong until I come across something, which happens almost every payroll. We pay for a GL file every payroll and we have yet to receive it.

Pros: Keeps a lot of information. Paylocity is constantly updating their product. For a larger company, the service might be better.

Cons: The payroll process is cumbersome, their are two separate systems for time and attendance and Payroll, if someone requests time off on the webpay side, it doesn't show on the webtime side, which results in employees having time off and they don't get deducted for it. Paylocity is constantly updating their product, which results in errors that you aren't aware of until you stumble across them. When you call customer support, you often times get different answers. You will almost never get to speak to your own account manager. They now have us emailing one central email, instead of our account manager directly, it takes a while for them to get back to us. I get complaints from employees that every time they login, they have to hunt for things, the product is not logically set up.

Comments: I used Paylocity everyday, multiple times a day! The "all in one" concept is something that many (mid-sized) employers will be drawn to with Paylocity. They provide strong in payroll and automated benefits administration functions, we also use Paylocity for all of our HR needs (HRIS, self service portal, time cards, etc.). I am very new to the product and transitioned with little/no training. The online training options work well, but the major plus is Paylocity's customer service.

Pros: The "all in one" product allows for one-stop-shopping for any HR administrator who is in charge of data management (HRIS), payroll, and/or benefits. Many of the functions are very easy to use. Their customer service is really phenomenal. They are extremely knowledgeable, courteous and VERY patient. This is true on both the HRIS side and benefits side. We also just "installed" their new Onboarding tool (including E-verify) and it works seamlessly.

Cons: Our company has an international reach with 2 offices outside of the US. Paylocity doesn't extend past the US for HRIS and/or payroll. Although those offices are small, we continue to find "work arounds" for the this limitation. Also, we have a fairly unique time keeping system and on several occasions we have "stumped" Paylocity with questions regarding our time cards/schedules, specifically not auto generating new schedules after payroll is run.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely take a look at Paylocity for your HRIS, payroll and/or benefits needs. If fully based in the US, their product can fully automate the life cycle of an employee from on-boarding, training, performance management to off-boarding. Having the self-service portal puts the employees in the driver's seat when if comes to managing/requesting time off, requesting pay stubs and making changes to personal data (i.e., home address, benefits, tax deductions, etc.).

Web Pay is not the way to go!

Comments: We switched our payroll over to paylocity web pay 3 years ago and i still dont feel 100% comfortable with the system. Over the years they have definitely improved the user experience and the overall look of the system and made it easy for employees to use. From the admin side it still has its downs. Mainly their customer service - We often rely to our representatives at web pay to give us guidance on how to do things but often find that they are unable to give us advice and ask that we "speak to our tax person." As a smaller company we do not have a personal tax person available to ask questions.

There are alot of features that are also very manual which I am not happy with! For example updating managers for each individual has to be done manually by going into each profile instead of uploading a spreadsheet which would make my life alot easier.

Overall my experience using web pay hasn't been ideal. I think it works for now but in the long term I don't think it is scalable!

Comments: We just moved to Paylocity 2 months ago, so are still figuring out it's full capabilities. It has so much more than our prior software, it will take some time to understand all that it does.

I love that it can send reminders to staff when they need to renew something - that will be a big time saver for HR.

We've also been able to discontinue mailing check stubs by enabling employees to look at their own record online. They can also change their own W4, address, etc.

I'm confident once we learn how to use everything, we are going to love it!

Pros: Ease of use for remote managers/departments Reporting: Stock report library is fairly comprehensive and custom report writer works well to fill any specific needs No additional charges for updates such as the ACA tracking and reporting system.

Cons: No integrated 401k/retirement module. This requires manual data entry unlike the ADP/MyKplan where everything is linked and managed almost entirely through the core P/R module as far as weekly/biweekly contributions. The onboarding process was bumpy at best. The files needed from ADP (our former P/R processor) to proceed with the conversion were not spelled out as clearly as they should have been. Once we got up and running the experience improved.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do your homework and make sure you have everything required in terms of data to make the conversion. make sure that you reveiew the reporting for various compliance requirements to be certain that you can easily get what you need without additional costs.

Cons: I feel the presenter could have been a bit more detailed in the explanations of the options. If he would have slowed down, pulled the reports or shown examples of the items rather that passing over some sections and stating; "you know what that would look like" I would have been more satisfied with the demo and what the software can do for me.

Cons: My account manager seems to never be available and I get different answers when I call the customer service line when I ask the exact same question. It seems like the employees don't know the product very well. Also I find their tax team to be difficult to work with. I also feel like the web time portal is a little problematic. There also doesn't seem to be a lot of communication between webtime and webpay.

Pros: Paylocity's software is user-friendly and easy to navigate. The portal has both the ability for the employee to make changes and print pay stubs, W-2's, etc . . .

Cons: Paylocity does not appear to have a good choice of standard reports. The ones they have do not totally satisfy what I am looking for in a standard report. For instance, I'd like to see what changes have been made on any given payroll processing date, compared to the prior pay period. There are several different reports you can run to figure out this information, however we have been working with Paylocity for months to create the exact report we need to feel comfortable auditing our transmittal.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look at the canned reports. Choose a couple that you think you would use. Open the report and review the contents and how the report is presented. Is this what you would envision?

Pros: They seem to know what they are doing from a payroll provider aspect, but that's about all I can say that is positive.

Cons: Where do I start?? Their support is terrible. Constantly changing account manager, customer support doesn't even know their own product, and the user interface is horrible. Not intuitive at all.

Pros: The customer support is great. Whenever I have a question or issue it gets resolved promptly with a simple call to the support line. The system is very user friendly for day to day HR management tasks.

Cons: The reporting system. Although Paylocity has numerous reporting capabilities, it is difficult to create a detailed report without a fair amount of trial and error... Also, to change a PTO or vacation plan is difficult because you cannot communicate directly with the team that handles the actual implementation.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do a demo of the product and make sure whatever product is chosen that there is an option for continued customer support.

Pros: Paylocity Web Pay is so easy. I love the fact I have access to this portal from anywhere. This option allows me to transmit payroll, run reports, update records from home, vacation, etc. Adding/deleting new earnings/deduction codes can be done by me. I do not need to get the approval from Paylocity to update my account settings. Employees can easily find their way around the portal, if used frequently. It's a slow learning process but eventually they embrace it. Managers have access to their team's information so instead of me providing the info they need, they will log into the portal and look for the info. Report writing is very simple. I am able to customize my own reports. I still export into Excel and format it, but overall, pulling the info I need is easy enough to do. There is a phone app for Paylocity, which is employee friendly! This is a great option if you're not in front of a computer to update personal info and submit time off requests. Reports live on the cloud, so no hard copies are provided when payroll is transmitted.

Cons: One thing I like least about this product is managing time off. We use a different system to track time and unfortunately the two systems do not talk to one another. We Pay does allow for me to keep into account the employee's time off to reflect their pay. Unfortunately, because of our industry, the time off submitted is always not so accurate so the system is set up to only track time off requests. I manually have to enter taken time - info based from extracting data from other system being used. I don't know if this system offers mass updates. I don't know if I can change a deduction amount across the board. For example, I had to increase each employee's medical premium by going into their records. It would have been nice if I had the ability to mass update all the employee's premiums based on specs. I would love it if I can edit a canned report. This option is not available.

Recommendations to other buyers: Think about what you'll be using the system for (i.e. HRIS Management, payroll, report writing, recruiting tool, etc.). If you choose this product then please provide as much training to the employees. Help the employees embrace the product so they'll be on board will helping themselves to the info needed (in regards to their profile). This will alleviate the administrator from responding to numerous questions.
