### "Reliable, User-Friendly Payroll & HR Platform"

July 23, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Paylocity has been very positive. It's a reliable, easy-to-use platform that simplifies payroll, time tracking, and HR tasks. Everything is organized in one place, making it convenient for both employees and employers to manage day-to-day workforce needs efficiently.

Pros

What I liked most about Paylocity was how easy it was to use for both employees and managers. The platform made it simple to access pay stubs, track time, request time off, and manage HR tasks all in one place. Everything was organized, and the mobile app made it convenient to access information anytime. Overall, it helped streamline payroll and workforce management while providing a smooth user experience.

Cons

There isn't much to dislike overall, but some features can take a little time to learn at first, and occasionally the mobile app can be a bit slow. Once you're familiar with the platform, though, it's easy to use.

### "Refer everyone to it"

August 5, 2026

4.0

I have switched another company to Paylocity. Of the systems I have used, although it has it's cons, it is light years better than the current competition.

Pros

I have been in HR for 19 years and have used a lot of HRIS systems. Paylocity has been the most all-encompassing product and the most user friendly.

Cons

They sell you "dedicated account support" but not once in the 7 years we have had them as my rep answered when I called in. They will reply to emails, but most times that takes at least 2 days and then a canned response is given without looking at what I already did/sent. When you reply, it could be days for another response.

### "Paylocity Mixed Feelings"

August 5, 2026

3.0

My overall experience with Paylocity has been mixed. The platform offers a wide range of HR, payroll, and employee management tools that can be valuable for organizations looking to centralize their processes. Features such as employee self-service, onboarding, benefits administration, and reporting capabilities have been helpful in streamlining certain HR functions. However, my experience has also been impacted by recurring system limitations, reporting challenges, and difficulties obtaining timely support when issues arise. As an HR/payroll professional, accuracy and efficiency are critical, and there have been instances where payroll reporting, workers’ compensation reporting, and system functionality did not align with our operational needs. Resolving these issues often required significant manual work, multiple follow-ups, and escalation to find solutions. One of the biggest challenges has been the gap between what the system appears capable of doing and what can realistically be customized or supported without additional costs, lengthy timelines, or extensive troubleshooting. For example, when we needed specific reporting solutions to support compliance and workers’ compensation requirements, the available options were limited and the turnaround times did not always meet the urgency of payroll and compliance deadlines. That said, I do appreciate the breadth of services Paylocity provides and the potential the platform has when configured properly. A stronger focus on proactive support, faster issue resolution, greater transparency around system limitations, and more flexible reporting options would significantly improve the customer experience.

Pros

The reporting options available within Paylocity are one of the platform’s strongest features. They are extremely helpful in streamlining reporting tasks, reducing manual work, and providing valuable visibility into HR and payroll data. When the available reporting capabilities align with our needs, they significantly improve efficiency and allow us to make more informed decisions.

Cons

The customer service is quite terrible and non personalized. Although you are assigned an "account manager," this person is rarely available for you if you need to call in customer support.

### "My Paylocity Experience"

August 5, 2026

4.0

The overall experience has been pretty great, aside from the isolated issues and some Onboarding to HR & Payroll features that aren't manual.

Pros

I love the ease of use and the customizable features. The time tracking is easily manageable in the Time & Labor module. Since implementation, the customer service has improved.

Cons

Some of the documents we need to update aren't as easy as I initially expected, as they were created by our implementation representative. I manage the Recruitment and Onboarding. I also don't like when isolated issues arise that we as administrators cannot immediately assist with. For example, resetting access for an employee feels like taking an act of Congress to resolve. We follow the options provided, and the employee usually has success after 3 or more attempts, and it works the day or 2 afterwards.

### "Good - but lots of room for improvement"

August 5, 2026

4.0

Overall, I am happy with Paylocity and believe we made the right decision when we chose to change payroll providers.

Pros

The ability to configure codes and the ease of updating the holiday calendar. I also enjoy the Community feature for posting payroll related changes and reminders. So far, most dealings with our Paylocity team have been positive.

Cons

Constantly being kicked off the page while actively working. Keying in an employee's name several times because the system is trying to search while I am typing. System does not keep a history of changes to employee benefits that is easy to review when issues arise.

### "All in one system for HR"

August 5, 2026

Overall the use of Paylocity is great. Even after a couple years we are still learning new things, developing and using modules.

Pros

Ease of use and user friendly for employees. Our employees went from paper to this system, and the ease of training helped them adapt. Overall this is a comprehensive package.

Cons

Changes have been made to some of the formatting; not sure I like it. We have had several customer service rep changes, which hasn't been easy. The time to resolve issues has caused issues.

### "Paylocity - a great choice for HRIS."

August 5, 2026

5.0

From integration on our experience has been very positive. The constant upgrades are spot on and things keep getting easier. Payroll, onboarding, recruiting & time and labor are very smooth . And our team loved the app for clocking in and out and many other features.

Pros

Paylocity is very intuitive to use. Customer support is stellar. We use many of the modules and features and the integration between modules is seamless. It just works very well. And the help section and online trainings are so useful and handy.

Cons

It is hard to come up with anything. I guess for us doing raises for team members with multiple rates is a speedbump. But we are able to make it work. It just is not ideal.

### "You can never know too much about the system you use."

August 5, 2026

4.0

On the payroll side it was easy to use but I would suggest when you get a new client that the employee that will be usuing the system is invoved with the rollout or is given a one on one training for the reports.

Pros

The help screens were very useful. On the Payroll side I liked the viewing of the payroll registers before payroll finalized and that items could be changed to an employee record by HR befor payroll was finalized. I also like the different options for reviewing an employees pay.

Cons

The report writing screens had to much going on when trying to figure out the data you were looking for. It seems weird to say but there were almost too many options. The other thing was the start and and dates on the Human Resources side of Paylocity seems to confuse the users causing problems with hire date, benefit dates and transfer dates mid pay cycle. It seems that HR was alwas needing to correct dates. One other thing I didn't like is that pay dates were referred to as check dates. Employees were always asking if their direct deposits went through because they saw the word check instead of pay or earnings.

Switched from

[Paycom](https://www.capterra.com/p/130949/Paycom/)

I wasn't involved in the decision to switch from one product to another when the decision was made. I was part of the crew making sure the correct data came over from Paycom to Paylocity.

Very positive. The ability of my team to use Paylocity over their phones helps to make it a positive experience. Also, the Pay on Demand feature is loved by my team.

Pros

The ease of use is what I would define as what I like best. The Knowledge Base adds to the ease of use.

Cons

The wait time when calling in for assistance. This has only been an issue this year. I think the wait time was less than 10 before this year. I've waited over an hour a couple of times for assistance this year.

### "A Comprehensive HR Tool That Keeps Getting Better"

August 4, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Paylocity has been positive. It’s a powerful HR platform that keeps improving. While there are areas that could be streamlined, the reliability and feature set make it a strong choice for businesses of all sizes.

Pros

\*Banking integrations are stable, and tax management is handled automatically. Reports are detailed and easy to export for accounting. \*Employees can clock in from desktop or mobile, and managers can review hours quickly. The system rarely has syncing issues. \*Paylocity provides a wide range of HR and payroll tools that make the cost worthwhile. The platform replaces several separate systems, which saves money in the long run. \*Reliable payroll and tax handling \*Strong HR and communication tools \*Mobile app works well for employees \*Good reporting and analytics

Cons

\*Some workflows require too many steps \*Occasional slowdowns in customer support \*Some tools feel unintuitive, and updates occasionally change layouts without warning. Reporting customization is limited, and certain workflows take longer than they should.

### "Paylocity is a first class payroll system"

February 16, 2026

5.0

My experience with Paylocity has been excellent. From our initial transition to the platform and through our multiple integrations, we have had outstanding customer support. We are a much more effective accounting/hr team because we use Paylocity.

Pros

Paylocity is easy to use and flexible making it easy to handle our payroll. I have had excellent customer support any time I have required assistance. We use the time and attendence module and have integrated with our accounting and benefits plans to streamline and automate the payroll allocations, makeing this efficient and saves us both time and money.

Cons

When we first started with paylocity the integration was not available with our accounting software, but it has recently updated to become available. I have found that many of the issues I have had in the past have been updated in technology upgrades over the past couple of years.

Overall, I am very happy with Paylocity. It's the only system I would use for my company. The overall functionality surpasses that of most other platforms.

Pros

We have continually added features in Paylocity and grown the system to our needs. Payroll is great, but also having expense reimbursement, spending account management, recruiting capabilities and COBRA all in one place as been a game changer for us!

Pros

Paylocity can handle and streamline all of our company's needs in one place. From recruiting, to training and through offboarding, Paylocity has supported our needs in every way.

Cons

### "Paylocity Review"

February 26, 2026

Overall, we are happy we moved to Paylocity although the learning curve has been a little too steep. It is a constant learning process - learning things you didn't know Paylocity could do and also finding out its limitations.

Pros

We have saved a lot of time running Payroll. Customer service over the phone or by email is quite responsive. Integrations with other programs have worked well.

Cons

The onboarding process left us with a lot to learn by ourselves - by trial and error or research and contacting Customer Support. Also, when our agent sent in a ticket to another Paylocity department, it took a while for a response, which was often cryptic and sometimes didn't answer the original question.

### "Excellent software, still developing every day"

February 27, 2026

5.0

Pros

I like the ease of use for employees, managers, and admins. Paylocity has a great flow through the onboarding process, to everyday use, and special circumstances. We transitioned to Paylocity in 2022 and in the last 4 years the system, software, and mobile app have exceled through many updates. The nice part about these updates is that it's not just decision of Paylocity but they take the feedback from surveys done by clients and users. The system has saved us so much time in the field and in back office for payroll tracking and accurate payments. We have saw a large reduction in additional payroll costs due to paying accurately through Paylocity, compared to our old processor.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about the system is restriction of features when you are under a large TPA umbrella. We have 4 company entities, but we work through a TPA so our 3 companies fall under their umbrella. What this means is features like password resets, access to edit employee information, direct deposit updates, etc. we can not do ourselves. We have to send a request through them and then wait for their team to process that. I just feel an admin of a company ID should be able to reset anyone in that company and be able to control their own company fully. We just get told that to have that access then we would see all the other companies under that TPA. There has to be a way to change that.

### "A VERY Satisfied Customer!!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

I have used 3 other HR Platforms prior to finding Paylocity and I will NEVER use another. Their customer service is A++, very knowledgeable with prompt attention to any matter. One important aspect of having a company like Paylocity is "trust", I have a lot of trust in the company as a whole. They stand behind their product. I have been with Paylocity for 5 years and continue to be a satisfied customer. They continue to add features across all areas ie: Payroll, HR, Community etc. I would highly recommend Paylocity!

Pros

Paylocity's customer service is excellent. All representatives are very knowledgeable and well trained. If I call with a question or send an email it is promptly addressed. I love their new streamlined Payroll process. It is user friendly and they have a variety of integrations available. Paylocity also has a wide range of reports that you can run or customize. Time and Labor serves our 3 office locations well and is easy to use and integrate into Payroll.

Cons

I am 100% satisfied with the features I use though Paylocity. I do not have the need to utilize some of the modules like workflows, performance or recruiting, so I cannot give an intelligible review on those modules. Personally, I do not have any cons to list for what I use Paylocity for, they meet all of our needs and more!

They did not take ownership of their mistake even though their representatives initials were logged as having entered the information. At that point, I lost confidence and trust in them. Going from no HR system to Paylocity, it's been a game changer. The time and extra work that we are not having to do as a department now having Paylocity has paid for itself already. Paylocity also offers many modules so you can phase yourself into them rather than biting more than you can chew.

Pros

Paylocity is very user friendly. My team learned the system fairly quick. We have multiple company setups within Paylocity but with Paylocity, it's easy to keep navigate amongst them.

Cons

Our rep who handles our daily account is amazing and takes the time to teach. Overall we are happy with Paylocity and the

Pros

What I appreciate most about Paylocity is the platform consolidation. Prior to switching, we were managing separate vendors for payroll, timekeeping, ATS, and E-Verify, which created significant administrative overhead. Bringing everything under one roof saved us significant time and eliminated data silos

Cons

### "Happy with Paylocity!"

January 29, 2026

We started using Paylocity at the beginning of the year and the experience has been positive. It has streamlined our payroll and HR functions. We have already added new modules and plan to implement more soon. It has successfully replaced our previous clunky process with a more automated, reliable solution.

Pros

I only have to log into Paylocity for everything related to HR and Payroll. Love the employee self service functions, the reporting and ease of use. Everything is tracked, no more spreadsheets everywhere!

Cons

The platform is robust, so there is an initial time investment required to learn and implement the various modules and features available within the system. I still have a lot to learn!

Reason for choosing Paylocity

Lower cost, liked the demos of the product, integrated with our Benefit software, liked the sales guy, wasn't pushy at all and took the time to answer all of my questions.

### "Paylocity Gets 5 Stars"

August 5, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Paylocity was very good and I highly recommend them. I have had experience with ADP, Paychex and Paycor and Paylocity stands up against any of them.

Pros

My employer had been using Quickbooks to process payroll for a number of years, in spite of the fact that many of us were begging for a web-based system. Getting set up with Paylocity was a game changer for those of us responsible for processing payroll and even more so for our employees. The system is very user friendly, and it allowed us to better track time for our hourly employees, it gave us a variety of reports that we never had access to, it provided more detailed information to the employee, and the price was extremely reasonable. Over time, we migrated to their HR modules and were able to use it to onboard new employees, thereby eliminating the antiquated paper process we used previously. Highly recommend Paylocity for companies looking for a robust, user-friendly system for processing payroll and managing HR activities.

Cons

We would occasionally run into issues regarding customer service; i.e., getting a representative on the phone that was not familiar with our company's requirements or having to wait longer than expected for certain types of reports.

### "Simple to Use, Great Support, and Full Transparency"

May 8, 2026

4.0

Overall, Paylocity has been a solid system to work with. It can be a little cumbersome to set up on the front end, but once it’s up and running, it’s very easy to use day to day. The transparency within the platform is a big plus, and support has been helpful whenever we’ve needed it.

Pros

The platform is very user-friendly and easy to navigate, even for newer team members. The customer support has been consistently responsive and helpful whenever issues come up. I also appreciate the transparency-it gives employees clear visibility into their performance and activity at a glance.

Cons

Getting everything set up on the front end can be a little clunky and time-intensive, but once it’s in place, it’s pretty easy to manage day to day.

### "A solid HRIS platform for medium sized companies"

March 3, 2026

4.0

No issues with payroll, which truly is the most critical component of the system. Paylocity continuously improves the platform, such as dynamic reporting and additional user capability in app.

Pros

Ease of use (once you know how to navigate). Regular valuable and helpful updates. Additional modules allow for exponential improvement in productivity and accuracy of records.

Cons

When there's an issue, it isn't always resolved in a timely manner. New module implementation can be challenging. There aren't tips and tricks documents--you just need to figure out how to utilize the system for yourself. Because Paylocity is payroll-driven, there are some quirks to making future or current changes prior to payroll running.

### "Employee centered Platform "

February 26, 2026

5.0

From a payroll leadership perspective, I appreciate the system’s integration between payroll, HR, and time & labor. That connectivity reduces manual processes, improves data accuracy, and strengthens audit controls, which are critical at scale. The platform is also user-friendly, which is excellent for staff at different levels.

Pros

I am especially impressed by how the Paylocity platform integrates payroll with HR, benefits, and workforce management. From a director-level perspective, that level of integration allows for stronger data integrity, better reporting, and more strategic insights for clients. There is also great customer support and ease of use.

Cons

One area that could be improved in Paylocity is the customization of reporting. Sometimes generating highly specific reports requires extra steps or workarounds. That said, it helped me develop stronger problem-solving skills.
