### "Paylocity- Updated Pros & Cons"

July 23, 2026

4.0

I still enjoy using Paylocity, aside from the system issues we've been experiencing lately. They updated the Home screen and with that we've had a few kinks and quirks, but they are willing to take the feedback we have and work on solutions to make it better.

Pros

Paylocity is still user friendly and easy to use once the system is learned. I enjoy when they make updates to the system to freshen it up and add new features. I still enjoy the record keeping, recruiting, onboarding, etc.

Cons

The customer support has slowed down quite a bit since my previous review. It's taking them longer to trouble-shoot errors and issues, but they still get them fixed and give updates when they can.

It was time to switch to a more robust HRIS system. Only payroll went through \[sensitive content hidden\] and paper files were being kept for EE information. With Paylocity we could do it all within the system.

### "Great day to day support"

Paylocity is making a lot of changes as AI technology develops. I’m excited to see where they take it.

Pros

The AI and call center teams are both very helpful. I am consistently impressed by the folks who answer my calls and are kind and able to help.

Cons

Lack of a sign point of contact for payroll tax set up makes it challenging to efficiently set up across multiple juris dictions.

### "Payroll & Benefits manager"

October 2, 2025

5.0

My overall review for Paylocity is it is not like it was a few years ago when worked at another company. It was easier to use and the features were not all on their own dashboards. I do like Paylocity as it has made my job much easier than when I started HR/Payroll years ago. I appreciate the fact they are keeping up with the times and the technology.

Pros

The account manager is quick to reply and the standing meetings we have are very helpful. She takes care of any issues we have right away. The use of the program is super user friendly and if you have an issue their team is on it right away. I like the ACH aspects as it gives me one less thing to worry about. The features of the different aspects on the dashboard are helpful as they are easy for the leaders to understand and there is personable user access. Because we have Lockton as our broker our implementation costs for this HRIS were minimal. We have an outside ERP so we do not use the time tracking feature to track hours worked.

Cons

I do not like the fact that there is no file feed going from Paylocity Cobra to our carriers. I was unaware that we were receiving payments and they were not going to our carriers for the coverage so the coverage was stopped and I received no notice of getting the payments from the previous employee for the cobra.

### "Working with Paylocity is an Amazing Experience"

September 30, 2025

5.0

My overall experience, which is over 5 years between my two companies, has been amazing - it truly is an all-in-one business solution.

Pros

I love Paylocity so much that when I left my previous company, where we had Paylocity, I talked my CEO and CFO into getting the platform for my new company. I have never had anything but a positive experience with Paylocity. My favorite part is the customer service - there is always someone available to help you at any time of day, 7 days a week. The system does everything - Payroll, HR, recruiting, onboarding, offering a training hub, and more. It is an extremely intuitive system to use and there are trainings available on-demand if you need help with a specific topic. Everyone that was assigned to our integration period was extremely communicative and always available over the phone, via email and via zoom. You cannot beat the value for your money as it is an all in one hub and even takes care of all tax preparation. As the person that deals with Payroll, the time tracking feature is especially convenient and helpful for completing payroll in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

Cons

There is literally nothing I dislike about Paylocity. It is hands down the most comprehensive system around.

### "Awesome company/team to partner with!!"

November 7, 2025

5.0

Overall, as a HR/Plant Coordinator Paylocity makes all of my task from A-Z much more streamlined and easy to use for the employee's.

Pros

Very easy to use and if have any questions their support team is on it and typically resolved while on the phone with them.

Cons

We have "piece rate" pay at our employer and Paylocity had to get a team together to help with this calculation process. Had some hiccups the first 6 months after implementation, had to pay attention to Payroll (this was 6 years ago when we started, so I am sure they have only improved since then for this aspect).

### "Very Satisfied Client"

September 25, 2025

5.0

I've used Paylocity since 2018 and I've done everything from onboarding, payroll, and adding tax/deduction/earning codes. I've had a great experience overall and would recommend it to any business (big or small).

Pros

I feel like the customer support is amazing. Whether it be via email, chat, or over the phone, everyone is very helpful in resolving any issues that may arise. The knowledge base articles are also very helpful and answer most questions without needing to reach out. Also, the onboarding of employees is great with the customizing options that are available for that process. There are also so many services available to assist with items like garnishments and the like.

Cons

My least favorite thing about Paylocity is the sick time accrual and refresh set up. I feel like I can never get it set up correctly. I'm sure this is something I can get worked out though if I set aside some time with our account manager.

Our overall experience with Paylocity has been very positive. I like many of the features it provides.

Pros

Paylocity is easy to use. Our payroll process and recruitment process has been great. I love the new AI search feature and I even uploaded our handbook, into Paylocity so our employees can search it easier, using the AI feature. I love the data insights, and we have just started using employee voice.

Cons

When there is a specific problem or question that may come up, sometimes it is hard to get an answer. It seems like general questions go into a queue, but then need to be escalated if they don't have an answer. However there are times when customer support gets back to us right away on something. So it may depend on the issue. We also have their performance platform, and used it for the first time this year for our reviews. There were some kinks we had to work out.

5.0

Overall, it's a good choice; I would recommend it. They have made some great updates to payroll, which have really simplified the process and reduced processing time.

Pros

Paylocity offers strong payroll abilities, reliable customer support, and user-friendly design with valuable features. Payroll processing is accurate and timely, helping ensure compliance and efficiency. Customer support is responsive and provides helpful guidance when questions arise. The platform is intuitive, making it easy for administrators and employees to navigate without extensive training. Features such as direct deposit, tax filing, reporting, and system integrations make payroll and HR tasks more streamlined. Overall, Paylocity combines functionality with simplicity, creating a well-rounded solution that supports organizational needs while providing a positive experience for both staff and management.

Cons

Sometimes, customer support can be lower-level thinking when a higher level of critical thinking is needed to solve the problem.

### "I would highly recommend Paylocity"

September 25, 2025

4.0

My sales support team, the implementation team and the after-implementation team are all extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend them for your future HRIS and Payroll provider.

Pros

Paylocity has the best customer support team of any vendor I have ever used. They are extremely knowledgeable and are very well versed in all aspects of Paylocity. Also, their system is very easy to use.

Cons

I think what I like least about their service is the benefits program. It wasn't able to support our multiple locations in different States. It took too long to get open enrollment set up and they relied on the customer to do most of the work. It was very frustrating.

### "Paylocity customer who would recommend their platform to any other HR professionals without hesitation."

September 25, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with Paylocity has been good. Reps are usually quick to respond and provide helpful information. I found that everything my sales rep said to me before we signed the contract to switch to Paylocity was true. Some companies and/or reps will tell you what you need to hear in order to get the sale. That was not the case at all.

Pros

We switched to Paylocity a little over a year ago. Overall, implementation was smooth. There were a few issues to work out with the GL, but customer support was great with communication and making the changes quickly. We chose Paylocity for payroll, but having additional modules was great: recruiting, benefits management, ACA reporting, OSHA tracking, I-9 compliance, etc. Having all of these functions in one platform allows for greater ease of use. The customizable features throughout the modules is great!

Cons

The thing I like least about Paylocity is that every additional module we have used so far requires you to purchase that modules for everyone. For example, the training module. The way our company is structured, I only needed about 40 people to have access to the learning system, but I had to buy for everyone. I will say, my sales rep did work out a cost per person that made it more manageable.

### "Highly Recommend Paylocity"

September 25, 2025

5.0

We use Paylocity for payroll, HR, Benefits, and Onboarding. The "one-stop shop" makes it easy to process each step. The intuitive features allow new users to become comfortable with it very quickly, reducing training time.

Pros

I really like the ease of use of Paylocity. It is very intuitive, and if I do have a question, the vast knowledge base usually has the answer, along with step-by-step instructions. My service team is easy to get in touch with and is very responsive to any questions we have.

Cons

None really - there are a few reporting limitations we have had to work around, such as layouts and available information, but we have been able to retrieve the information we need.

### "Paylocity Proves to be a Good Value"

September 25, 2025

5.0

Our overall experience has been positive. The system has features that benefit us greatly, even if they can be clunky to learn how to use at first. The reps are generally helpful, and always courteous. They have even helped me create videos and custom trainings for our staff on how to use certain features. I would recommend Paylocity to companies looking for a good value HRIS.

Pros

Paylocity is a good value for what we pay. It is much less expensive than legacy systems like ADP, but offers a lot of the same functionality. We have a bundle package that includes Timekeeping, Payroll, HR functions, Community, Compensation (market pay data and automation), and Performance Management. As with all systems, the buildout can be a beast, but the reps are helpful. It does what we need it to do. As a nonprofit, we definitely want a robust system that doesn't break the bank.

Cons

The build on the back end does seem to be somewhat compartmentalized. For example, from an employee's screen, I can't see everything about them. I have to go into another section of Paylocity to see their timecard information and switch back and forth depending on what information I am looking for. That can be inconvenient. Another thing that can be strange about using Paylocity is that some things are not intuitive. It can be difficult to know where in the menu I need to go to access certain settings, and some settings are not even open for clients to update, they have to be done on the back end by Paylocity. That can serve a good purpose so that you don't make consequential mistakes in the way your system is set up, but I prefer to understand the settings of the system I am using instead of relying on representatives to do everything for me which can take longer.

### "A Paylocity Fan!"

September 25, 2025

4.0

Overall, I am a Paylocity fan. I've worked with ADP, Paychex, UKG, etc., and would say that Paylocity holds the best value for what we pay overall. I've given a four star rating because I think there is a lot more room for growth.

Pros

I love that Paylocity carries this new company energy, and is always striving to grow, enhance, and develop into better products for their clients.

Cons

There are several gaps in products that I wished communicated with each other more. As a basic example, I wish that there were more enhancements to Supervisor Timecard Approvals, where supervisors could see this as a task listed in Home. Better communication across products would lead to more efficiency and ease of access. I also wish that we could have more workflow capacity.

### "Not A Paylocity Fan At All"

September 25, 2025

3.0

Paylocity is not a very user friendly software. I am used to being able to make updates to information myself. Most stuff requires a ticket. again that requires a long wait time.

Pros

It was a fairly easy system to use being that I had only used ADP. I utilized the learning modules frequently. I also love the product update emails.

Cons

The way the customer support it set up. I don't like that I rarely ever can get in contact with my account rep. Also, when i do they have to escalate my request to another department. Resolutions often take weeks even months. Half the time I end up resolving the issue myself.

### "Would Recommend!!!"

September 25, 2025

5.0

Paylocity is great. I would definitely recommend. Paylocity is robust, user friendly, provides great training/resources, and has created a great atmosphere for collaboration about the software.

Pros

I have used a variety of other software for HR and payroll and Paylocity is by far the most user friendly. It is clean, makes sense, provides robust reporting and other features without being cumbersome. I also like the balance Paylocity has of things that Paylocity sets up for us on the backend like open enrollment and new module initial setup. I had to build all that with the previous software I used. In addition, Paylocity support is knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. You guy are great to work with.

Cons

Sometimes I feel like the tax support isn't very thorough, having to follow up multiple times on a single issue, and not getting the correct advice to resolve the issue. And it may just be just me, but I feel like sometimes when I submit a ticket for support it just disappears and never gets resolved, like when I emailed support about how before payroll gets submitted the check numbers are wrong on the batches on the review page, but once you submit the payroll they are correct on the last page. Our profile still has that issue. I was told it was a known problem with the new payroll processing rollout and that Paylocity was aware of it. We were put on a list to resolve it, but I haven't heard anything else about it. That was at least a month ago.

Overall, we are happy that we chose to use Paylocity for our internal payroll as well as the platform for our clients over other providers such as Paychex and ADP.

Pros

Cons

### "Bundled Service Makes It Easy; Implementation... Not so much"

September 25, 2025

4.0

Overall, I would still recommend Paylocity. If you can get past implementation, it does get easier. There is still more functionality I would like to see with the system, but they're always making improvements. I just wish some would come more timely than others.

Pros

It's really nice to be able to have everything in one place (payroll, HRIS, expense, training, benefits) - it has made HR operations much more streamlined.

Cons

Initial implementation was riddled with frustration: we felt there were some things that were "oversold" on the system capabilities, a lot more legwork than what was initially described, major roadbumps along the way, and communication gaps that resulted in a lot of issues. Post-implementation things have been easier to implement, but there is sometimes a lack of follow-up or untimely follow-up.

### "Paylocity is doing it right!"

September 25, 2025

5.0

Overall so happy with our new payroll vendor, we are a growing company and constantly looking for ways to become more efficient. Workflows, import files, and onboarding events have been many of our processes quicker!

Pros

We were happy to move away from our previous payroll vendor after numerous account manager changes and unsatisfactory customer service. Paylocity's Service team have been stellar - very responsive and quick to provide solutions, particularly this first year when we have a million and one questions! Love that we can process as many off-cycle payrolls as we need, has been so helpful in final check payments! No more mailing live checks! Time & Labor's wage & hour compliance has helped mitigate so many issues during final timecard auditing. Monthly training webinars are a joy every month to learn something new.

Cons

There are so many new and useful features we have access to in Paylocity, the pros always outweigh the cons. I wish benefit accruals like PTO could be updated in real-time and not need to be connected to payroll, sometimes cadence of accrual can get quirky.

Pros

Paylocity is easy to use, edit, and process when it comes to payroll. I can process payroll without a guide and from multiple sources.

Without Paylocity my job would be a nightmare. I recommend this system to everyone I meet. Wouldn't trade this for any other one.

Pros

It's incredibly easy to use and the assistance with the system is top notch. If there are features wanted by the customers, Paylocity works toward a release containing it. I never experienced that with other systems.

Cons

Overall, I have used this product for several years. It has beat out the alternative providers that I have used.

Pros

Paylocity is inclusive of all the features you would need in a payroll system and HRIS. The ability to have everything with a single log in is very convenient for the administrator and the employee end users.

Cons

### "The good and the bad!"

Working with \[sensitive content hidden\] is great, he is so very helpful and responsive. The benefit side of things is confusing and difficult.

Pros

Customer Support. Through email, and phone calls working though challenges is very productive and I am never left feeling inadequate for my silly questions.

Cons

Ease of Use with the BSwift Portal, this may have something to do with compliance through the archdiocese.

Archdiocese required the change, it was very painful.

### "Very easy to use and customize! "

January 29, 2026

4.0

Paylocity is a very user-friendly HRIS platform that is easy to navigate for both administrators and employees. The system is intuitive, and employees are able to access their information, complete tasks, and manage updates easily through the mobile app. While there were some initial hiccups with reporting, the ability to build and customize reports helped resolve those challenges and ultimately provided the data we needed. Overall, Paylocity has been a reliable and efficient system that supports daily HR operations well and continues to improve with added features and flexibility.

Pros

Ease of use with Time & Labor and Performance Management modules. There is a large catalog of online training/ resources available for all users. Our Account Manager is very knowledgeable and provides great customer support.

Cons

The processing fees for state registrations are too high. The fees for previous pay adjustments is also a little too high.

Cost was too high and the customer service was declining.
