### "Platform gets the job done (eventually) but leaves a lot to be desired."

November 20, 2025

2.0

The easiest aspect of Paylocity has been running payroll itself, though even that has an occasional hiccup. Through workarounds, I've been able to smooth those out, but I shouldn't have to do workarounds with a system that's supposed to make it as effortless as possible.

Pros

The app is fairly simple to use and makes it easy for hourly employees to clock in and out. Likewise, tracking hourly employees hours during the current pay period is easy, as is editing and making corrections to timesheets when needed.

Cons

Settings and reporting are incredibly convoluted. It may seem as if you're making an adjustment to a setting, the setting you actually need is in a completely different section of the platform. And the knowledge base isn't very easy to navigate to try and figure out these settings. Same with reporting; you may need to run several different reports to find what you're actually looking for.

### "Good, could be even better by adding employees file capabilities"

September 25, 2025

5.0

I would rate my overall experience as "Okay". New as an admin, and not having set up the system, it is hard to know full capabilities. Also receiving different answers form different support service responders.

Pros

Ease of use, communication, customer support and add on features. There is a lack on information and client service manager touch.

Cons

The biggest missing piece is not having the ability to have a full employee file saved. Documents is very limited. Training on the product for new admin users.

### "Strong System with Room for Customer Service Improvements"

January 29, 2026

3.0

Overall, my experience with Paylocity has been positive. The platform offers strong value for the cost and is easy to navigate, making everyday payroll and HR tasks more efficient. The tools are intuitive and save time across multiple processes. However, customer support has been a consistent challenge—response times can be slow, and issues often require follow‑up before they’re fully resolved. Despite that, the system itself works well and delivers reliable functionality for daily operations.

Pros

Great value for money, easy to use, and streamlines everyday payroll and HR tasks with reliability.!

Cons

Customer support is often slow, inconsistent, and requires repeated follow-ups to resolve issues....

### "Why haven’t you jumped on Paylocity yet?"

October 10, 2025

5.0

I kicked the tires on a bunch of other systems, but none of them had the brains, muscle, and backup like Paylocity. From the very first call to setup to every handoff with the support team, the experience has been top-notch. It’s rare to find a system that works and a team that actually has your back—but Paylocity delivered both, beginning to end.

Pros

he beauty of this system is it’s so simple even Monday-morning-brain can handle it. The task and responsibility go right back where they belong—with the employee—while reporting stays easy, clean, and painless. No scavenger hunts, no twelve-step navigation, just straight-to-the-point tracking.

Cons

Honestly, I can’t find a single con with Paylocity. For an organization our size—under 50 staff—it’s like the system was built just for us. Everything runs smooth between HR, our bookkeeper, and the deputy director’s desk without a single hiccup. It just works.

### "Paylocity a Good Value"

November 6, 2025

4.0

Paylocity is a good value for the price that you pay. It does offer more services at a cost, but you get what you pay for.

Pros

The ease of use. If you have used other payroll/HRIS systems, then you will find Paylocity to be easy to navigate.

Cons

Honestly, customer service. Having a payroll/HRIS customer service background of ten years I find myself comparing the service I receive to the service I gave.

### "User-Friendly and Efficient HRIS"

February 26, 2026

5.0

Overall, I’m very happy with Paylocity. The platform is user-friendly, reliable, and makes it easy to manage payroll and HR tasks efficiently. It has streamlined many of our processes and saved us time, and the support team has been responsive whenever we’ve had questions.

Pros

The top two things I like most about Paylocity are how simplified the payroll process is and how little time it takes to complete. I’m also impressed with their customer service — I can always reach someone quickly and get the answers I need.

Cons

There was a bit of a learning curve during implementation, but it improved once I became more familiar with the system

### "Not recommended."

April 24, 2026

1.0

I had a recent issue where I had some complications with setup of double child support. The Customer Service rep would not process for me but instead gave me 3 different wrong answers for me to process 3x. And when it did not work she "didn't know why that wasn't working". Not only did she waste hours of my time during payroll which is time sensitive. But in the end I was given incorrect information to delete my entire batch and start over which I knew was incorrect. That would involve so much work I would've missed the submission deadline.

Pros

Software is still good. Opinion is the same as far as setup/maintenance and payroll processing. There have been recent updates that are positive.

Cons

Customer service reps are not trained. Paylocity is ok if you are willing to know all aspects of the software or only use the online Knowledge Base assistance provided in the software.

### "Paylocity Making HR Life Easier"

September 25, 2025

5.0

Paylocity is a great asset to the HR, payroll, benefits, and communicating with employees. Employees can make changes and requests in the app without dealing with paper anymore.

Pros

Automation has been a huge success and so easy. The implementation teams and after care from the dedicated customer service specialist has been the best team work I have seen in years. There is open communication with regard to features that are available and how to use them. Our weekly payroll is very simple with importing and the internal time keeping. Processing payroll and reimbursements is a fantastic feature! Paylocity is worth the cost with all of the ways it is able to help and streamline many tasks.

Cons

The only Con would be possibly having the app offer more features as the online version for employees to make changes to tax with holdings.

### "MUST HAVE!"

September 30, 2025

5.0

It covers a lot: payroll, time & attendance, HRIS, benefits, training, performance, etc. Having everything in one place helps reduce switching between tools. Employees often mention that viewing pay stubs, requesting PTO, checking schedules, etc., from the mobile app or self‑service portal makes things smoother.

Pros

Paylocity offers HR, payroll, benefits administration, time & attendance, performance management, recruiting, learning, etc., within one system. This reduces the need for multiple disconnected tools and streamlines data flows.

Cons

Because Paylocity offers many modules (HR, payroll, benefits, time tracking, etc.), there can be a lot to learn; setting it up and using all features well takes time.

It has been good and bad, our biggest problem is issues with projects. Many projects we issue with Paylocity come with several hiccups. We have had issues of the system updating itself without our knowledge, or representatives not understanding our company setup well.

Pros

Being able to have a dedicated representative. As well as the payroll features. It is beneficial to be able to setup the batch types, payroll filters, etc. Those options are helpful in our organization.

Cons

That different areas do not speak to each other very well. For example, expenses, time & labor, BSWIFT and transferring between company IDs.

Overall experience has been great, so glad we made the switch. It was a fairly simple implementation. The app is easy to use. Paylocity takes out the headache of Payroll.

Pros

We've enjoyed the ease of use of the system. The support when we do not know how to do something is great also.

Cons

Not always being able to speak with our Account Manager. We still get our issues resolved but it would be nice to build the comradery with your account manager.

### "Pretty good-some room for improvement! "

September 29, 2025

4.0

I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. And I have user experience with over 15 different HRIS and HR vendors so I speak from a place of experience!

Pros

Platform is amazingly easy to use. Implementation was a breeze. The interface is very user friendly for both admins and end users.

Cons

Service follow up leaves some to be desired. A win is the fact that I can call and talk to someone. The response I get after submitting a ticket is very meh. I could be on a test group for them and we would get this whipped into shape very quickly!!

### "Comprehensive personnel management "

May 8, 2026

5.0

Outstanding product that makes life easy. Employees love it for tracking pay. Office loves the robust reporting capabilities.

Pros

Paylocity is a comprehensive personnel management solution. It is intuitive, feature rich, and provides value to all users.

Cons

Frequency with which passwords must be reset can be unpredictable across devices, but is by no means a deal breaker.

Overall, Paylocity is a strong all-in-one platform that performs well once everything is set up and your team is trained. It offers solid payroll, reporting, and self-service tools, but there is a learning curve and some areas could be more intuitive. Despite a few frustrations, it’s a reliable system that gets the job done.

Pros

aylocity offers a good set of features for the price, but some functions feel limited compared to the cost. It works well once everything is set up, but certain modules don’t feel as robust as expected for the price point.

Cons

PTO Calculation Time tracking works, but it’s not always intuitive. Managers sometimes have trouble finding or editing employee punches. The system works best once everyone is trained. Some functions feel clunky or outdated, especially in time tracking. Reporting and setup can be confusing without suppoT

### "Good Value"

October 7, 2025

4.0

Mostly good. Service can sometimes be slow. Sometimes things break and we don't really know who to go to to fix it. Sometimes they stay broken because it isn't listed as a priority.

Pros

Front end time tracking and payroll (especially taxes) are simplified - thank you! Webinars are nice. Knowledge Base is pretty cool too, though sometimes real case usage and what is written doesn't always jive.

Cons

We've had three Account Managers in a year, the last time we weren't even told. Sometimes tickets are closed without the issue being resolved. Ticketing system is even less useful than email. Audit trail is sometimes confusing. There are things that we can't export which is frustrating. One time we called in and someone basically told us that a supervisor put PTO onto the employee's timecard - which is possible, but in this case did not happen. Had I not known that particular thing better than this particular person, we could have gotten into a world of hurt because of an employee issue.

### "Easy to run basic payroll once you understand it but challenging in area of support or help"

July 6, 2026

3.0

Once you know how to do something, it's alright. Otherwise, it's very hard to understand unless you specialize in payroll. I find it very frustrating to get things fixed or to add new things. I really wish there was a solution that was easier for anyone to run.

Pros

Out of the payroll programs out there, it does appear to be one of the easiest to manage for someone who is not an HR specialist.

Cons

As a layperson, I find the help articles vastly in need of improvement. They should have videos showing you how to do things. They also need to make clear at the start of a training module that it is only if your company is subscribed to X product type. Support is usually good, but recently I have been attempting to add a product, and I've now had to follow up 3-4 times just to get someone to reply, and I'm still waiting!

### "Modern UI, Reporting Inconsistencies and Frustrating Support"

November 21, 2025

3.0

Overall, the system is intuitive and easy to use, but reporting is inconsistent and confusing. Depending on the report type, fields are intermittently available or missing, and labels vary (for example, some reports use "Job Title" while others use "Position Title"). Employee/people reporting lacks clear structure and metadata, which makes it hard to standardize metrics or trust results.

Pros

it's clean, modern, and highly intuitive. Navigation is straightforward, dashboards are customizable, labels and icons are consistent, and the design is highly responsive

Cons

The effectiveness of customer support when it comes to resolving issues. Although reps are responsive and quick to acknowledge tickets, they often lack the technical knowledge to provide timely or lasting solutions. this applies not only to account managers but also data support teams, which can be very frustrating.

### "Works for us!"

October 9, 2025

4.0

Pros

Able to get to a person quickly when you call into support, fairly intuitive to use with a few quirks, the knowledge base is very handy, can easily customize which modules to add, etc. which is nice for a small company wanting a smaller price point now but having the option to keep expanding as the company grows.

Cons

For a small company there isn't necessarily one dedicated account manager that you have a relationship with so when you have questions, etc. you are working with various people and departments, every once and a while I've gotten different answers to the same question because of this.

5.0

Overall, my experience has been good. It took me a few weeks to get adjusted with transitioning the system since my job starting using the system. Now it is easy for me to put my work hours in daily and ahead of time.

Pros

I like that the features allow you to save your work hours currently and days prior. Also, I like how you can see everything on one page such as vacation, sick hours, work announcements, employee's birthday and work anniversary date.

Cons

I dislike how you can not edit your hours if you make a mistake and that the home page is hard to navigate due to confusion because of the organization of where sections are located on home page.

### "Big Improvement by moving to Paylocity"

November 6, 2025

5.0

So far my employees have said it has been a big upgrade from the previous payroll provider. The overall engagement has been on the upswing.

Pros

The user experience has been great so far. Support has been top notch through implementation. And the integrations have been an awesome addition. The community page is a great way to get multiple sites involved with one another.

Cons

### "Paylocity Client Review"

October 10, 2025

4.0

Overall Paylocity has been great. I can easily get in contact with someone from customer service any time I come into issues. There have been few issues I have come across and Paylocity continues to develop and update their features.

Pros

Paylocity is very user friendly. Prior to starting with my current company, I had never used Paylocity but I was easily able to figure things out and many questions can be answered in the peak articles.

Cons

I wish the app was more user friendly. For example, our performance reviews are done in paylocity but staff are unable to sign their review in the app so this causes delays in approvals because staff then need to find a computer to complete their review. Also, internal job postings should be in the app as well.

Overall, I like Paylocity and would not switch to another payroll program. I do like the fact that they continually ask for feedback and suggestions and try to accommodate.

Pros

It makes payroll, HR and benefits easier. Onboarding new employees is also simplified with all of the forms, etc entered into one place.

Cons

Sometimes the procedures are a little confusing. For example, during Open Enrollment - I had questions and it took too long for a response. When I did get one - it wasn't clear on what to do.
