### "A Great HRIS for Small - Midsized Companies "

July 21, 2026

4.0

It's been a pretty good experience with Paylocity. There have been times that they seriously have dropped the ball with customer service, but then make up for it by added support, discounts, etc.

Pros

Paylocity is a super affordable platform to use as an HRIS. It's relatively easy to use (with training) and does a good job as a payroll system. We have a solid customer service representative that has helped us navigate the platform and set up things in a way that fits our organization!

Cons

What's great is also what is overwhelming. It's such a customizable system that sometimes it can be hard to figure out what you need and which "lever" to pull to make changes across the system. Also, sometimes the Time and Labor module doesn't sync well with the HR and Payroll system. There can be a lag or even a disconnect sometimes!

### "Powerful HRIS and Payroll Platform, But Support and Add-Ons Fell Short"

June 10, 2026

4.0

Overall, Paylocity is a strong HRIS and payroll platform with excellent functionality, reporting, and scalability. However, organizations should carefully evaluate add-on products and be prepared for potential challenges with customer support. The core platform delivered value, but the support experience and ancillary services prevented us from realizing the full benefits we expected.

Pros

Paylocity is a comprehensive HRIS and payroll platform that offers a wide range of functionality across the employee lifecycle. One of its greatest strengths is scalability. Organizations can manage payroll, benefits, time and labor, recruiting, performance management, and employee engagement within a single ecosystem. The reporting capabilities are robust, allowing HR teams to access and analyze workforce data efficiently, and the employee self-service features are generally well received and help reduce administrative burdens.

Cons

Where my experience became frustrating was with customer support and some of the additional products sold as part of the Paylocity ecosystem. We frequently received inconsistent or incorrect guidance from support representatives, which occasionally resulted in costly mistakes and required additional time to resolve. The revolving-door nature of support contacts also made it difficult to establish continuity and build confidence in the advice being provided. I was also disappointed by several add-on products that were represented as seamlessly integrated but did not function as expected in practice. For example, we selected Paylocity's COBRA administration solution with the expectation that it would automate processes and reduce administrative effort. Instead, we encountered significant manual workarounds that diminished the value of the product and largely defeated the purpose of implementing it. Similarly, after transitioning to Paylocity's HSA/FSA administration services, employees expressed considerable frustration with the account setup process and ongoing account access.

### "Reliable, User-Friendly Payroll & HR Platform"

July 23, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Paylocity has been very positive. It's a reliable, easy-to-use platform that simplifies payroll, time tracking, and HR tasks. Everything is organized in one place, making it convenient for both employees and employers to manage day-to-day workforce needs efficiently.

Pros

What I liked most about Paylocity was how easy it was to use for both employees and managers. The platform made it simple to access pay stubs, track time, request time off, and manage HR tasks all in one place. Everything was organized, and the mobile app made it convenient to access information anytime. Overall, it helped streamline payroll and workforce management while providing a smooth user experience.

Cons

There isn't much to dislike overall, but some features can take a little time to learn at first, and occasionally the mobile app can be a bit slow. Once you're familiar with the platform, though, it's easy to use.

### "Simple to Use, Great Support, and Full Transparency"

May 8, 2026

4.0

Overall, Paylocity has been a solid system to work with. It can be a little cumbersome to set up on the front end, but once it’s up and running, it’s very easy to use day to day. The transparency within the platform is a big plus, and support has been helpful whenever we’ve needed it.

Pros

The platform is very user-friendly and easy to navigate, even for newer team members. The customer support has been consistently responsive and helpful whenever issues come up. I also appreciate the transparency-it gives employees clear visibility into their performance and activity at a glance.

Cons

Getting everything set up on the front end can be a little clunky and time-intensive, but once it’s in place, it’s pretty easy to manage day to day.

### "Continues to get better! "

February 16, 2026

4.0

My overall experience has been good for the most part. We have a very help customer support person for our account. He listens and is very helpful. Also, the system is pretty easy to use for the most part and the AI tool is great.

Pros

The customer support we have is great, any questions I have I am able to ask or set up time to talk to our account representative. If they do not know the answer they do find it for us and help support the best they can.

Cons

It is alot of manual work, but it continues to get better. When I first started with the program compare to other ones I felt like it was very manual.

### "Paylocity is a first class payroll system"

February 16, 2026

5.0

My experience with Paylocity has been excellent. From our initial transition to the platform and through our multiple integrations, we have had outstanding customer support. We are a much more effective accounting/hr team because we use Paylocity.

Pros

Paylocity is easy to use and flexible making it easy to handle our payroll. I have had excellent customer support any time I have required assistance. We use the time and attendence module and have integrated with our accounting and benefits plans to streamline and automate the payroll allocations, makeing this efficient and saves us both time and money.

Cons

When we first started with paylocity the integration was not available with our accounting software, but it has recently updated to become available. I have found that many of the issues I have had in the past have been updated in technology upgrades over the past couple of years.

### "The best platform for the price!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

Overall, I am very happy with Paylocity. It's the only system I would use for my company. The overall functionality surpasses that of most other platforms.

Pros

Cons

### "Very pleased with switching to Paylocity"

February 26, 2026

5.0

What Paylocity offers is great. Every Paylocity employee we have worked with is very nice. My only complaint is our main contact seems to change frequently.

Pros

The ease of everything being in one place. It's not just payroll, it is training, recruiting and expense reports. We can use it on a desktop or on our phones. The mobile app is great for our employees who are on the road most of the time.

Cons

Sometimes as an administrator it is not as intuitive as I would like. Some features I don't use all the time. When I do have to use it, I have to re-educate myself on how to do it.

### "Three Times In, and Paylocity Still Impresses"

February 26, 2026

5.0

This is my third time working with Paylocity, and I continue to bring it to every organization I join because it delivers the right balance: powerful enough for HR and Payroll, yet intuitive, simple, and accessible for everyone else. Paylocity also consistently enhances its platform in meaningful ways. Most importantly, I’ve always experienced a genuine ‘people‑first’ culture in how you support and care for your employees.

Pros

I love the philosophy behind everything you do about your product and services. It aligns well with ours. It's designed to support human decisions, not just process transactions. It's usable and intuitive. And it's agile to the changing needs of the clients.

Cons

While I’m very satisfied overall, I do wish the Performance and Compensation modules were more robust.

### "All in one game changer!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

We have continually added features in Paylocity and grown the system to our needs. Payroll is great, but also having expense reimbursement, spending account management, recruiting capabilities and COBRA all in one place as been a game changer for us!

Pros

Paylocity can handle and streamline all of our company's needs in one place. From recruiting, to training and through offboarding, Paylocity has supported our needs in every way.

Cons

During Benefits open enrollment the last two years, I have worked with a person (2) who has very little experience and it's been frustrating and time consuming.

Paylocity is very user friendly and always is updating their processes to better our use of the system

Pros

### "Paylocity Review"

February 26, 2026

4.0

Overall, we are happy we moved to Paylocity although the learning curve has been a little too steep. It is a constant learning process - learning things you didn't know Paylocity could do and also finding out its limitations.

Pros

We have saved a lot of time running Payroll. Customer service over the phone or by email is quite responsive. Integrations with other programs have worked well.

Cons

The onboarding process left us with a lot to learn by ourselves - by trial and error or research and contacting Customer Support. Also, when our agent sent in a ticket to another Paylocity department, it took a while for a response, which was often cryptic and sometimes didn't answer the original question.

### "Can be good depending on company size "

February 12, 2026

2.0

I think it really depends on your need for an HRIS, for a simple smaller company it is great but for a bigger growing company nothing to really offer.

Pros

I think for a smaller under 200 person company it is good, but I think for anyone to scale or need for high financial need it is not great.

Cons

I think you can have a great Service Rep it can be great, but you are doing all aspects of Paylocity. They will not really help you they just send you a way to get the job done.

### "Paylocity HR & Payroll removes the stress from single person department!"

February 12, 2026

4.0

Moving the department into 20th century has been excellent. The department as a whole is enjoying the platform and ease of use. Administration enjoys the reporting capability and the information that can be gathered so quickly.

Pros

After a full year using Payloicity, my role as one person HR department is easier. Customer support is excellent. Being able to answer employees questions regarding pay and leave is easier than using the old spreadsheet and DOS based payroll system. All the reports which have been set-up and the new options which I'm discovering make the job easier and more pleasant. Had been looking forward to retirement; but, may stay a few more years now. Thanks Paylocity!

Cons

Starting the process, as a one person department it was demanding to get regular task completed and give attention to needs of Paylocity team. I felt rushed and unheard. Now in year two, we are having to make corrections - not ideal; but, working the process. Set-up team was not as knowledgeable in governmental projects as we needed them to be - this did get corrected as we went along.

### "Honest mid-size company Paylocity review"

February 13, 2026

3.0

Better than Paycor but unsatisfied. Overpromised and under delivered. It’s clunky and with limited app options employees rarely login unless to clock hours or submit PTO.

Pros

Ability for hourly team members to clock on and off on the mobile app and ability to limit this within a geofence to confirm they are on-site when they enter their hours. I also like being able to configure a personalized onboarding task list for new hires and that they can upload I9 documents directly in this pre-hire stage. I like the opportunity for team collaboration with community but the buy-in has been slow

Cons

That we were over promised on services and very limited app functions. Poor payroll functionality. Too much repetitive data input from HR for everything from onboarding integration with Employee Navigator to a simple promotion with pay change. Customer support was promised to be local and readily available but, apart from a few requests, has felt very disengaged and responses that items will be looked into have ended there. Reporting is not intuitive and each report I do pull I have to build from scratch. Other reports I’d like to have are reports I’ve been told my recommendations of improvements have been noted. It’s frustrating. For TEAM COLLABORATION I was excited that I could include a prehire personalized “about you” questionnaire that would be automatically shared with the future employees manager, but this doesn’t transfer as a separate item into the employee profile. So while managers can view it in onboarding, once they’re moved to hire it’s only in the summary which includes private info like direct deposit and I9 details and it’s not accessible to a direct manager.

### "Paylocity is User Friendly"

February 27, 2026

5.0

I find Paylocity to be extremely user friendly and easy to use. The support team always answers the phone, even of you cant reach your account Mgr immediately. The knowledge articles provide easy to read, step by step instructions. Communication is timely and supportive.

Pros

I find Paylocity is very easy to use and learn. Processing payroll is automated and integrated with lots of check and balances. The Preprocessing reports, especially the Comparison report is extremely helpful in ensuring quality assurance.

Cons

Creating custom reports can be tricky but the Report Writing team is very helpful. Sometimes you receive different answers from different service reps when there is a new feature, for example OB3. Finally, The Comparison report would have much more value if there was a comparison of hours, today's version only compares earnings.

### "Excellent software, still developing every day"

February 27, 2026

5.0

Pros

I like the ease of use for employees, managers, and admins. Paylocity has a great flow through the onboarding process, to everyday use, and special circumstances. We transitioned to Paylocity in 2022 and in the last 4 years the system, software, and mobile app have exceled through many updates. The nice part about these updates is that it's not just decision of Paylocity but they take the feedback from surveys done by clients and users. The system has saved us so much time in the field and in back office for payroll tracking and accurate payments. We have saw a large reduction in additional payroll costs due to paying accurately through Paylocity, compared to our old processor.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about the system is restriction of features when you are under a large TPA umbrella. We have 4 company entities, but we work through a TPA so our 3 companies fall under their umbrella. What this means is features like password resets, access to edit employee information, direct deposit updates, etc. we can not do ourselves. We have to send a request through them and then wait for their team to process that. I just feel an admin of a company ID should be able to reset anyone in that company and be able to control their own company fully. We just get told that to have that access then we would see all the other companies under that TPA. There has to be a way to change that.

Frustrating, but good enough. It's unfortunate to give such a lukewarm review, especially when the platform has so much potential, but as-is, it's really just not excellent.

Pros

Overall it's pretty customizable, so we can create different access levels for all relevant contributors and paylocity doesn't limit the number of contributors you can have. Additionally, some of the modules (performance, recognition, etc.) are pretty intuitive!

Cons

### "Employee centered Platform "

February 26, 2026

5.0

From a payroll leadership perspective, I appreciate the system’s integration between payroll, HR, and time & labor. That connectivity reduces manual processes, improves data accuracy, and strengthens audit controls, which are critical at scale. The platform is also user-friendly, which is excellent for staff at different levels.

Pros

I am especially impressed by how the Paylocity platform integrates payroll with HR, benefits, and workforce management. From a director-level perspective, that level of integration allows for stronger data integrity, better reporting, and more strategic insights for clients. There is also great customer support and ease of use.

Cons

One area that could be improved in Paylocity is the customization of reporting. Sometimes generating highly specific reports requires extra steps or workarounds. That said, it helped me develop stronger problem-solving skills.

### "Payroll designed with ease."

February 26, 2026

5.0

The support is live and in real time. Pricing is great. User-friendly for admin and employees. It allows everyone in the company to stay connected. I like how at the bottom of time cards you can instantly see benefit balances. Paylocity is constantly making changes for optimal use that employees find themselves doing it with ease. I have a lot less traffic in my office because of their platform.

Pros

Anytime I have an issue, I can just pick up the phone and get a live representative to immediately help me remedy my problem(s).

Cons

After leaving work, Realizing, I had forgot to submit payroll again. I have had to turn around and go back to work so I can submit from my desktop. The mobile app does not allow us to perform that function. The other thing that is somewhat cumbersome is pulling reports. It works for very simple reports, but anything beyond simple requires a call to Paylocity for help. Would like to see more user friendly.

### "Paylocity is a good choice."

February 26, 2026

Paylocity is easy to use for both the employees and administrators. Their representatives are friendly and the cost fits within our budget.

Pros

Paylocity provides the same services as ADP which we used for decades and is much less expensive which works for us as we have under 50 employees.

Cons

We are a small group (under 50 employees). When I call Paylocity for help I'm given a team member that at least half the time cannot answer my question and they have to put in a service ticket for help. It can sometimes take months to resolve an issue especially if it is related to any tax issue.

Cost was the main driving force in switching companies. We looked at many options before deciding on Paylocitgy.

### "A VERY Satisfied Customer!!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

I have used 3 other HR Platforms prior to finding Paylocity and I will NEVER use another. Their customer service is A++, very knowledgeable with prompt attention to any matter. One important aspect of having a company like Paylocity is "trust", I have a lot of trust in the company as a whole. They stand behind their product. I have been with Paylocity for 5 years and continue to be a satisfied customer. They continue to add features across all areas ie: Payroll, HR, Community etc. I would highly recommend Paylocity!

Pros

Paylocity's customer service is excellent. All representatives are very knowledgeable and well trained. If I call with a question or send an email it is promptly addressed. I love their new streamlined Payroll process. It is user friendly and they have a variety of integrations available. Paylocity also has a wide range of reports that you can run or customize. Time and Labor serves our 3 office locations well and is easy to use and integrate into Payroll.

Cons

I am 100% satisfied with the features I use though Paylocity. I do not have the need to utilize some of the modules like workflows, performance or recruiting, so I cannot give an intelligible review on those modules. Personally, I do not have any cons to list for what I use Paylocity for, they meet all of our needs and more!

Reason for choosing Paylocity

Once I spoke with Paylocity, I made the decision to switch right then and there. Great Sales rep!

Initially, I never LOVED the product of Complete Payroll, it was always lacking on HR end. BUT what made me really leave BambooHR was that THEY made an error when they put us on a monthly tax schedule vs bi weekly and it cost us $10k in penalties. They did not take ownership of their mistake even though their representatives initials were logged as having entered the information. At that point, I lost confidence and trust in them. We did stay with them for some time, but that experience soured how I felt about working with them.

### "Paylocity Service"

February 26, 2026

4.0

Moving to Paylocity has helped us as were are in a rapid growth stage with a company set that has added additional companies since implementation. We are adding more in the near future. Paylocity fills the void that our PEO could not.

Pros

Customer support is easy to contact by phone, and receiving follow up emails confirms issues have been resolved

Cons

There are features that are not in use because of our own company permission restrictions. During implementation we were excited about the capability and did not consider having to give supervisors certain access

### "Thumbs Up - Definitely worth the investment!"

January 30, 2026

5.0

Overall experience has been positive. Every HRIS has its pain points, but I would recommend Paylocity with no hesitation.

Pros

Overall ease of use. If you take advantage of their other offerings - Benefits Enrollment, Compensation, Performance Management, Employee onboarding, posting HR Events, to name a few - it is like a one-stop shop. Customer Support Teams have improved over the past 12 months with their knowledge of the product.

Cons

More flexibility with the Compensation module, where we can create our own compensation statement. There is minimal flexibility. Also we have a vendor management program that requires us to get documents, for example, Certificates of Insurance. It can take me weeks to regain access causing much unneeded frustration.

Loved all of the features and add ons that were offered. Customer Service references rated very high.
