### "Simple to Use, Great Support, and Full Transparency"

May 8, 2026

4.0

Overall, Paylocity has been a solid system to work with. It can be a little cumbersome to set up on the front end, but once it’s up and running, it’s very easy to use day to day. The transparency within the platform is a big plus, and support has been helpful whenever we’ve needed it.

Pros

The platform is very user-friendly and easy to navigate, even for newer team members. The customer support has been consistently responsive and helpful whenever issues come up. I also appreciate the transparency-it gives employees clear visibility into their performance and activity at a glance.

Cons

Getting everything set up on the front end can be a little clunky and time-intensive, but once it’s in place, it’s pretty easy to manage day to day.

### "Easy to use HRIS "

February 26, 2026

5.0

It's been pretty good. Problems were sorted out in a timely manner. When we wanted to make changes, it was a pretty straightforward process.

Pros

Overall, it's pretty easy to use. I like the performance management module. It makes it convenient for managers to track relevant conversations with their team.

Cons

1\. Reporting. I can't always get what I need in one report. It's fiddly to try to customize a report. 2. Requesting time off function. It always defaults to Sat/Sun as an assumed day off, which isn't so in the retail/grocery business. It causes confusion for staff.

Reason for choosing Paylocity

Price and features. We weren't looking for a bloated with features system. We wanted something user friendly with streamlined features we would actually use.

### "Paylocity is User Friendly"

February 27, 2026

5.0

I find Paylocity to be extremely user friendly and easy to use. The support team always answers the phone, even of you cant reach your account Mgr immediately. The knowledge articles provide easy to read, step by step instructions. Communication is timely and supportive.

Pros

I find Paylocity is very easy to use and learn. Processing payroll is automated and integrated with lots of check and balances. The Preprocessing reports, especially the Comparison report is extremely helpful in ensuring quality assurance.

Cons

Creating custom reports can be tricky but the Report Writing team is very helpful. Sometimes you receive different answers from different service reps when there is a new feature, for example OB3. Finally, The Comparison report would have much more value if there was a comparison of hours, today's version only compares earnings.

### "A solid HRIS platform for medium sized companies"

March 3, 2026

4.0

No issues with payroll, which truly is the most critical component of the system. Paylocity continuously improves the platform, such as dynamic reporting and additional user capability in app.

Pros

Ease of use (once you know how to navigate). Regular valuable and helpful updates. Additional modules allow for exponential improvement in productivity and accuracy of records.

Cons

When there's an issue, it isn't always resolved in a timely manner. New module implementation can be challenging. There aren't tips and tricks documents--you just need to figure out how to utilize the system for yourself. Because Paylocity is payroll-driven, there are some quirks to making future or current changes prior to payroll running.

### "Paylocity is a good choice."

February 26, 2026

4.0

Paylocity is easy to use for both the employees and administrators. Their representatives are friendly and the cost fits within our budget.

Pros

Paylocity provides the same services as ADP which we used for decades and is much less expensive which works for us as we have under 50 employees.

Cons

We are a small group (under 50 employees). When I call Paylocity for help I'm given a team member that at least half the time cannot answer my question and they have to put in a service ticket for help. It can sometimes take months to resolve an issue especially if it is related to any tax issue.

### "Paylocity Review"

February 26, 2026

4.0

Overall, we are happy we moved to Paylocity although the learning curve has been a little too steep. It is a constant learning process - learning things you didn't know Paylocity could do and also finding out its limitations.

Pros

We have saved a lot of time running Payroll. Customer service over the phone or by email is quite responsive. Integrations with other programs have worked well.

Cons

The onboarding process left us with a lot to learn by ourselves - by trial and error or research and contacting Customer Support. Also, when our agent sent in a ticket to another Paylocity department, it took a while for a response, which was often cryptic and sometimes didn't answer the original question.

### "Paylocity's Customer Service Experience"

February 26, 2026

5.0

It has been a great experience. Some bumps along the way but my rep is awesome and she is on top of everything!

Pros

The user friendly application and the customer service. I have an excellent service team. Every time I have an issue, I e-mail my rep or set up a call and she takes care of every question and every issue. If she says she will follow-up, she actually does. This makes a huge difference for me as the administrator and for the employees since what I'm able to do in Paylocity will be for the employee's experience.

Cons

App limitations like tax and home screen. Not being able to see or edit tax elections. Not being able to see the pinned announcements and the resources. The resources are in a different section where the employee has to go find it. Also, the app doesn't have our logo. I would like for our logo to be displayed.

### "Employee centered Platform "

February 26, 2026

5.0

From a payroll leadership perspective, I appreciate the system’s integration between payroll, HR, and time & labor. That connectivity reduces manual processes, improves data accuracy, and strengthens audit controls, which are critical at scale. The platform is also user-friendly, which is excellent for staff at different levels.

Pros

I am especially impressed by how the Paylocity platform integrates payroll with HR, benefits, and workforce management. From a director-level perspective, that level of integration allows for stronger data integrity, better reporting, and more strategic insights for clients. There is also great customer support and ease of use.

Cons

One area that could be improved in Paylocity is the customization of reporting. Sometimes generating highly specific reports requires extra steps or workarounds. That said, it helped me develop stronger problem-solving skills.

Overall \[sensitive content hidden\] has been very helpful and willing to help coordinate communications between other modules.

Pros

The payroll system is pretty easy to you. I also like being able to create any type of report I need quick and easy.

Cons

the constant bugs we experience. Every day we have something that doesn't work in Paylocity. Currently its the benefits module. We also struggle with benefits and spending accounts working together. Each module runs very separately and doesn't communicate.

### "All in one game changer!"

February 26, 2026

5.0

We have continually added features in Paylocity and grown the system to our needs. Payroll is great, but also having expense reimbursement, spending account management, recruiting capabilities and COBRA all in one place as been a game changer for us!

Pros

Paylocity can handle and streamline all of our company's needs in one place. From recruiting, to training and through offboarding, Paylocity has supported our needs in every way.

Cons

During Benefits open enrollment the last two years, I have worked with a person (2) who has very little experience and it's been frustrating and time consuming.

### "Excellent software, still developing every day"

February 27, 2026

5.0

Pros

I like the ease of use for employees, managers, and admins. Paylocity has a great flow through the onboarding process, to everyday use, and special circumstances. We transitioned to Paylocity in 2022 and in the last 4 years the system, software, and mobile app have exceled through many updates. The nice part about these updates is that it's not just decision of Paylocity but they take the feedback from surveys done by clients and users. The system has saved us so much time in the field and in back office for payroll tracking and accurate payments. We have saw a large reduction in additional payroll costs due to paying accurately through Paylocity, compared to our old processor.

Cons

The only thing I don't like about the system is restriction of features when you are under a large TPA umbrella. We have 4 company entities, but we work through a TPA so our 3 companies fall under their umbrella. What this means is features like password resets, access to edit employee information, direct deposit updates, etc. we can not do ourselves. We have to send a request through them and then wait for their team to process that. I just feel an admin of a company ID should be able to reset anyone in that company and be able to control their own company fully. We just get told that to have that access then we would see all the other companies under that TPA. There has to be a way to change that.

### "Neutral Satisfaction"

February 26, 2026

3.0

Neutral. With separate systems and teams, it takes more effort than expected to resolve issues involving more than one system or team. It feels as if Paylocity's system has plateaued in dashboards, benefits, reporting and overall system functionality. I'm starting to feel that other platforms can offer a more dynamic and supportive option with easier interfaces, insights and reporting.

Pros

Consolidating all services into one integrated platform. We use Recruiting, Onboarding, HRIS, Benefits (Bswift) to COBRA (WEX), including Section 125 spending accounts, and Compensation modules.

Cons

Annual Benefits process for Open Enrollment. The experience with a new team for our 2026 OE was the most challenging of my career, with multiple errors, workflow issues, incomplete work and many phone calls and emails to reach a resolution. I have no recourse to elevate issues above the team that is problematic. Reporting is challenging. There are many options but not always the ones we need. The report writer to create customer reports is also challenging to use unless you watch training courses. Account and sales managers change without advance notice. It is rare that an account manager will reach out to check in and offer support. Outreach is either reactive to an issue submitted, or to pitch a new offering.

### "Very Satisfied Customer Overall"

February 26, 2026

5.0

Pros

We utilize many platforms of Paylocity and find them all very useful and easy to use. It added efficiencies to our entire company which leads us to direct our efforts into other avenues. I cannot say enough about the experiences that we have had with this company over the past 7 years of working with them. We continue to advance into new aspects of each platform to streamline our processes and gain even more efficient ways of business.

Cons

On a rare occasion over the past 6 months, I have found that customer assistance to help me with certain tasks has been a struggle, from unanswered phone calls to no response to emails. I hope that we will see a change in this in the future.

### "Three Times In, and Paylocity Still Impresses"

February 26, 2026

5.0

This is my third time working with Paylocity, and I continue to bring it to every organization I join because it delivers the right balance: powerful enough for HR and Payroll, yet intuitive, simple, and accessible for everyone else. Paylocity also consistently enhances its platform in meaningful ways. Most importantly, I’ve always experienced a genuine ‘people‑first’ culture in how you support and care for your employees.

Pros

I love the philosophy behind everything you do about your product and services. It aligns well with ours. It's designed to support human decisions, not just process transactions. It's usable and intuitive. And it's agile to the changing needs of the clients.

Cons

While I’m very satisfied overall, I do wish the Performance and Compensation modules were more robust.

### "Very pleased with switching to Paylocity"

February 26, 2026

5.0

What Paylocity offers is great. Every Paylocity employee we have worked with is very nice. My only complaint is our main contact seems to change frequently.

Pros

The ease of everything being in one place. It's not just payroll, it is training, recruiting and expense reports. We can use it on a desktop or on our phones. The mobile app is great for our employees who are on the road most of the time.

Cons

Sometimes as an administrator it is not as intuitive as I would like. Some features I don't use all the time. When I do have to use it, I have to re-educate myself on how to do it.

### "Absolutely Phenomenal!!!!!"

April 24, 2026

4.0

This review is very positive so I would say positive. Something unique is our dedicated client reps were open to discussing upcoming changes in the software and what was coming down the pipe and were always asking for feedback so as a user you always had a sense of buy in on both sides.

Pros

Wow this is a tough one because I have been an ardent supporter and proponent of Paylocity for many years now. The technology, UI, robust set up and the customer set up and support are absolutely outstanding. If you've gotten to a point in your business and HR needs where you've outgrown the smaller options this is hands down the top pick.

Cons

It's difficult to point to anything because any small issues we had such as setting up complex codes or changing GL ledger formats were really self induced or normal change management issues that arise. The support team and our dedicated client reps were always there to bounce ideas off and talk through best practices or what they've seen other clients do in similar situations when you got an odd ball issue.

### "COULD be Great! "

February 26, 2026

2.0

It has been pretty frustrating. Our implementation was messed up from day one and it has never been corrected. Getting solutions or straight up answers for things is almost impossible creating additional work for myself and my team to try and figure it out.

Pros

The ability to encompass everything in one platform. Having recruiting, onboarding, employee files, expenses, surveys, etc. all in one really COULD be a game changer in the HRIS world. We LOVE the community board!

Cons

The lack of things working properly and syncing together across the different branches. -When onboarding someone, the things entered do not sync over to HR when they are onboarded and you must go in and re-enter data. (OT exempt, hourly rate on a salary employee, etc) -When making changes in HR it doesn't make the same changes in expense and/or time and labor. (When a supervisor is updated within HR, it doesn't update their supervisor in time & labor, or expense) -Time off balances not calculating or accruing correctly -Re-Hires.... doesn't work at all creating duplicate employees and/or creating issues because it doesn't feed to user access, time and labor, etc. -Workflows: WAY too complicated for simple tasks. And this was a major reason we chose to come to Paylocity, but have been unable to utilize them to the ability we would like to. PLEASE create just a simple "Document acknowledgement" option! It Paychex we could upload a policy, file, and hit "launch" and it would send to everyone who needed to get it have them acknowledge, and it was done. I miss that SOOOO much.

### "Paylocity is a first class payroll system"

February 16, 2026

My experience with Paylocity has been excellent. From our initial transition to the platform and through our multiple integrations, we have had outstanding customer support. We are a much more effective accounting/hr team because we use Paylocity.

Pros

Paylocity is easy to use and flexible making it easy to handle our payroll. I have had excellent customer support any time I have required assistance. We use the time and attendence module and have integrated with our accounting and benefits plans to streamline and automate the payroll allocations, makeing this efficient and saves us both time and money.

Cons

### "Thumbs Up - Definitely worth the investment!"

January 30, 2026

Overall experience has been positive. Every HRIS has its pain points, but I would recommend Paylocity with no hesitation.

Pros

Overall ease of use. If you take advantage of their other offerings - Benefits Enrollment, Compensation, Performance Management, Employee onboarding, posting HR Events, to name a few - it is like a one-stop shop. Customer Support Teams have improved over the past 12 months with their knowledge of the product.

Cons

More flexibility with the Compensation module, where we can create our own compensation statement. There is minimal flexibility. Also we have a vendor management program that requires us to get documents, for example, Certificates of Insurance. It can take me weeks to regain access causing much unneeded frustration.

My overall experience has been good for the most part. We have a very help customer support person for our account. He listens and is very helpful. Also, the system is pretty easy to use for the most part and the AI tool is great.

Pros

The customer support we have is great, any questions I have I am able to ask or set up time to talk to our account representative. If they do not know the answer they do find it for us and help support the best they can.

Cons

We started using Paylocity at the beginning of the year and the experience has been positive. It has streamlined our payroll and HR functions. We have already added new modules and plan to implement more soon. It has successfully replaced our previous clunky process with a more automated, reliable solution.

Pros

I only have to log into Paylocity for everything related to HR and Payroll. Love the employee self service functions, the reporting and ease of use. Everything is tracked, no more spreadsheets everywhere!

Cons

The platform is robust, so there is an initial time investment required to learn and implement the various modules and features available within the system. I still have a lot to learn!

### "Paylocity Recommended, Small Company Approved"

January 29, 2026

4.0

Overall, I love Paylocity and would recommend it to any similar-to-larger sized company! I'm really happy with the ways Paylocity as helped us streamline processes and become more efficient. Paylocity has helped our employees gain confidence to handle certain things on their own, such as submitting timecard adjustments, where they used to rely heavily on HR to do this. Now, HR can focus a bit more on bigger picture things. Paylocity has it's moments where it doesn't function 100% perfectly, just like the rest of us, but it's uses significantly outweigh any problems we may have had.

Pros

I find Paylocity to be a one-stop shop, making it much easier to handle payroll, timekeeping, time off management, HR filing, onboarding, reviews, and community all in one place instead of having to use multiple separate systems. I love that it automates a lot of things, such as workflows, which helps streamline processes for me. Open enrollment is significantly easier, despite being an imperfect system. Payroll is also incredibly simple since it pulls the timekeeping data directly. Everything we use it for has become easier, and I've heard that integrations, like with Justifacts, make hiring a lot easier. The initial setup was really easy, thanks to a fantastic onboarding process. The call-in customer support line is great! (as long as there isn't a huge wait time)

Cons

Paylocity is an imperfect system. There are random glitches at times, such as not being able to download performance reviews still. Sometimes (like this problem), these issues go unaddressed but cause disruptions almost daily for us. Another example of this is employee's not being able to see their documents all the time. For our annual reviews, EEs are required to review certain documents and sign off that they are correct still. Now, I have to manually download and send them to each employee. In general, what I'm saying is that issues sometimes take a while to be addressed -- response time is sometimes delayed via email.

It was awful, honestly. Not able to do timekeeping data transfer. Had to manually track time/PTO requests and enter them into Paycor for payroll. We also had one specific event where they sent our W2s to the wrong company, and sent us theirs. They were super caviler about it too, and just told us to throw them away (not shred or destroy or send back, just throw them away).

### "Responsive customer care, User-friendly features"

February 5, 2026

4.0

For employees, the features in Paylocity are intuitive and user-friendly. Nearly all the tools we need in an HRIS system are here. Customer support is responsive and real - I can talk to people who know the system, actually listen, and will do research to find answers when needed. I love that Paylocity is responsive to suggestions for improvements; the system is always evolving. Sometimes that evolving can be a challenge when the underlying way it works changes with little or no warning. We have policies and training that is impacted by this, so we sometimes have to amend those for system upgrades. Admin configuration is not always intuitive; however, support is very helpful with navigating this, and I do like that there are so many options for customization.

Cons

Some of the back-end configuration for Admins is not as intuitive as general user features. While it's not always intuitive to find where and how I make configuration changes, I do like that nearly everything can be configured. While I love that Paylocity takes suggestions for changes and makes improvements, that also means that underlying functions sometimes change with little to no notice, and we have to adjust the way we use the system to accommodate. Sometimes that even means changing company policy or leader training. Reporting is not as intuitive either.

Paycor's system did not work as promised. Paycor's implementation, training, and support were terrible. They were unresponsive and often did not understand basic payroll concepts or even their own system. Our implementation specialist was unprofessional and rude. The lack of system support was so bad that we switched after only one year of service.
