The coding for our 401(k) file feed can be a bit tricky and has required some additional support to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Pros

I like how user-friendly the platform is for both employees and administrators. The reporting features are intuitive, and the system integrates well with our other HR tools, making daily tasks much more efficient. Along with a supportive account manager.

Cons

The coding for our 401(k) file feed can be a bit tricky and has required some additional support to ensure everything runs smoothly. Along with our open-enrollment season.

Payroll itself is very easy to maneuver. I love how easy it is to move around and make changes. Very easy.

Pros

The layout and it is very easy to maneuver around. The reporting is not as friendly as I would have hoped for.

Cons

The reporting is not for easy a lot of times you have to run several reports to get the information you need.

Overall good. I feel like the workflows could be a little more user friendly in terms of the preparation.

Pros

Time and attendance, payroll, user friendly. The modules are easy to learn. Payroll is easy to prepare and process.

Cons

Customer Service. Every time I call, it always says my rep is not available. I would recommend having calls pushed through the rep for them to answer.

Have used paylocity with multiple work companies and it seems to have made great improvements in the past 3+ years.

Pros

I love the ease of use of the paylocity app and webclock. It is constantly being updated with great features.

Cons

As an administrator who reviews time sheets the paylcity system tries to override manual edits and causes more funky errors.

Overall, it is great, and easy to use other than when it freezes. I use it every day for uploading documents or updating employe charts.

Pros

The ease of use, paystubs, reporting, timesheets, documents, and community updates. Uploading events and certificates to charts.

Cons

There are often times where is stops working or glitches for a period of time. This can be frustrating.

My experience has been great and I'd recommend Paylocity highly! We have regularly scheduled meetings to ensure understanding of any new questions.

Pros

Customer Care is top notch! I am able to reach a benefits specialist whenever needed to assist with implementation, open enrollment and training. The online training materials are most helpful for activities performed on a less frequent basis.

Cons

I can't think of anything that makes me unhappy about using Paylocity. I hear feedback from employees and the one request I've heard is to be able to use a mobile device for benefit enrollment as a new employee.

Our overall experience is still positive, though we have had to request a change in account managers due to a lack of enthusiasm to serve our team.

Pros

The ability to customize this platform is amazing. I like that it’s a true all in one payroll, HR, and recruiting tool. The platform is more affordable than the rest.

Cons

The set up is very time consuming and tedious. It’s taking far more time that I could have ever imagined.

Implementation teams were wonderful. I wish we had follow ups with our team once implementation was complete.

Pros

Paylocity is easy to use and covers most of what we need. I like having online onboarding and tracking. I would like to use the recruiting features more. I will have to look at the trainings for recruiting.

Cons

Calculation of PTO for employees. We have struggled with the payroll and time and labor calculation of PTO. We would also like to be able to allow employees to see their points on the mobile app.

Pros

Paylocity is a robust and flexible platform that effectively supports multiple functional areas across HR and payroll. One of its greatest strengths is its ability to consolidate key processes such as payroll, benefits administration, time and attendance, and talent management into a single system. This flexibility allows HR teams to streamline workflows, reduce the need for multiple vendors, and better support both employees and leaders across the organization. The platform’s modular design also makes it easier to adapt as organizational needs evolve.

Cons

That said, one of the main challenges with Paylocity is the response time for escalated support tickets. While standard support is generally adequate, escalated issues can take longer than expected to resolve. This delay can create bottlenecks, especially when time-sensitive payroll or HR issues are involved, and can impact overall efficiency. Faster and more consistent resolution times for escalated cases would significantly improve the overall user experience.

Pros

Ease of use of system Customer support excellent Time Tracking user friendly and easy to manage. Communication is the key for success and Paylocity always update us in advance of changes and best practices

Cons

Currently nothing I like the least about Paylocity. Customer is their priority, and I experience that.

Generally speaking, Paylocity meets our needs with a variety of modules. Customer Service is most often polite and helpful.

Pros

Paylocity offers many modules, and we are utilizing several. Payroll processing is easy, and the R & R module has worked nice for our organization.

Cons

The limitations with the Performance module is one of our biggest challenges. While there are a variety of options, one major issue for us is the inability to use to mobile app to interface with our employees for this process.

I am happy with the system and service, my client service manager is awesome, very knowledgeable and responsive.

Pros

Once you learn the system, it's very easy to navigate. I also love how I can customize the system to our needs.

Cons

Again, because the system is so robust, there is a lot to learn in terms of additional modules like 'performance' - still working through being able to use all the modules we purchased.

Overall I've had a great experience! From the payroll processing side to the onboarding tools to the employee self portal.

Pros

The updates and features that continually make the product better and more user friendly are great! They always incorporate things to make the system more friendly and easy to use.

Cons

The layers of steps it takes to create a payroll batch seems a bit burdensome. Also there seems to be little organization in the Reports section, with pages and pages full of reports. Just makes it difficult to find.

Overall a good experience. When I get in touch with a service rep, they are always very helpful. I prefer handling the issue immediately and they are always very helpful.

Pros

What I like most about Paylocity is its ease of use. We have been a customer for over 12 years. We value the partnership with Paylocity

Cons

I do not have any complaints at this time except for employee banks of time are sometimes off. Also sometimes I will type in an employee search, click on the name I want and it brings me to a totally different employee.

Overall, the experience is fine. I wish it were exceptional but I'm not sure any system can satisfy everyone.

Pros

The system is relatively easy to use and serves a purpose. Customer support is generally good and reliable.

Cons

Too many "known issues" with no fix dates in sight. Some compliance related. Some have been outstanding for YEARS (plural). Communication of issues is essentially non-existent.

They are several ways in which some things can be done and this makes it confusing on which steps to take some of the time.

Overall the experience has been positive for management and staff alike. We are continually finding new and improved uses for Paylocity.

Pros

The ease of use with Paylocity is unlike any other HR & Payroll application that I have used. Employees are also able to utilize the App easily. Customer support is always available and able to answer any question I have.

Cons

The way the time rounds for compensation is sometimes confusing to employees. They don't understand how coming in 6:01 and out at 3:01 does not equal 9 hours.

’ve used Paylocity for 10 years in three different companies, and overall, it has been a great tool for managing payroll and HR functions. The system is comprehensive and dependable, though some areas can be a bit complex to navigate. With time and familiarity, it works very efficiently.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use and how everything from payroll to time-off requests is all in one system.

Cons

Some features can be a little complex to navigate at first, and a few reports require customization, but overall the system works well once you’re familiar with it.

It is overall good and getting better. They are pretty aggressive with competitive pricing so if you're looking to bundle and save, I think it's worth considering.

Pros

They offer a lot of applications on one platform. They offer a good value if you bundle it together and from an employee side, it's easy to use.

Cons

We had some issues on implementation. It was implemented before I started but I wish I was a part of the conversation. The holes from implementation led to issues later down the road.

Paylocity has been great to work with. At a small company, I wear many hats in the work I do so I really appreciate the support in all the things that come up. There are often unique scenarios and they're always ready to help me.

Pros

I rave all the time about the support that Paylocity provides to their clients. It's rare to wait on hold and you get someone right away willing to help you, walk you through your questions and follow up as needed. Paylocity has great technology, training materials and is easy to use!

Cons

If I had to say a negative, I would just say not having direct access to our assigned customer service rep unless directly asking to schedule an appointment with them. But otherwise, support is still great!

Pros

We like the support and cost savings, and the fact that we can streamline our processes under one platform.

Cons

We have had a slower process with getting assigned an HRC, but we are on track now. We are planning to change our onboarding process by utilizing the Paylocity features.

Not enough training on new things, or access to things. Performance reviews are not visible to upper management; only the Supervisor and Reviewer would be great if high-ups could also see and comment on the performance review.

Pros

Surveys, HSA and FSA, and COBRA integration are nice. I like that Paylocity offers reliable payroll tools and convenient features that help streamline everyday HR tasks.

Cons

What I like least about Paylocity is that functions and menus change too often, and when these updates occur, not all company configurations migrate correctly, which creates unnecessary confusion and extra work.

Cons

Time off totals sometimes are finicky. I also wish that the reports were more customizable. And also, would like to assign more than one reviewer.

It gets the job done and has some good qualities. There is definitely room to make certain areas better or build out a bit more, but a good HRIS for small organizations.

Pros

Takes a very simplistic approach which can be helpful when administrative responsibilities can bog you down.

Cons

At times I wish it were easier for admins to configure certain aspects. Setup isn't as intuitive as other HRIS I've used in the past, but can be done if you work with the right Paylocity rep. Additionally, overall client servicing could be better. I can never reach my account manager by phone, and depending on which client service rep you receive answers can vary.
