### "Paylocity HR & Payroll removes the stress from single person department!"

February 12, 2026

4.0

Moving the department into 20th century has been excellent. The department as a whole is enjoying the platform and ease of use. Administration enjoys the reporting capability and the information that can be gathered so quickly.

Pros

After a full year using Payloicity, my role as one person HR department is easier. Customer support is excellent. Being able to answer employees questions regarding pay and leave is easier than using the old spreadsheet and DOS based payroll system. All the reports which have been set-up and the new options which I'm discovering make the job easier and more pleasant. Had been looking forward to retirement; but, may stay a few more years now. Thanks Paylocity!

Cons

Starting the process, as a one person department it was demanding to get regular task completed and give attention to needs of Paylocity team. I felt rushed and unheard. Now in year two, we are having to make corrections - not ideal; but, working the process. Set-up team was not as knowledgeable in governmental projects as we needed them to be - this did get corrected as we went along.

They were not able to handle our employment tax situation. Either pension or social security is taken from employees' deductions, depending on their status. Bamboo could only handle one or the other.

### "Honest mid-size company Paylocity review"

February 13, 2026

3.0

Better than Paycor but unsatisfied. Overpromised and under delivered. It’s clunky and with limited app options employees rarely login unless to clock hours or submit PTO.

Pros

Ability for hourly team members to clock on and off on the mobile app and ability to limit this within a geofence to confirm they are on-site when they enter their hours. I also like being able to configure a personalized onboarding task list for new hires and that they can upload I9 documents directly in this pre-hire stage. I like the opportunity for team collaboration with community but the buy-in has been slow

Cons

That we were over promised on services and very limited app functions. Poor payroll functionality. Too much repetitive data input from HR for everything from onboarding integration with Employee Navigator to a simple promotion with pay change. Customer support was promised to be local and readily available but, apart from a few requests, has felt very disengaged and responses that items will be looked into have ended there. Reporting is not intuitive and each report I do pull I have to build from scratch. Other reports I’d like to have are reports I’ve been told my recommendations of improvements have been noted. It’s frustrating. For TEAM COLLABORATION I was excited that I could include a prehire personalized “about you” questionnaire that would be automatically shared with the future employees manager, but this doesn’t transfer as a separate item into the employee profile. So while managers can view it in onboarding, once they’re moved to hire it’s only in the summary which includes private info like direct deposit and I9 details and it’s not accessible to a direct manager.

### "impressive functionality & continuous improvement"

January 29, 2026

5.0

Overall, Paylocity’s software is powerful, intuitive, and designed to support modern, paperless workflows.

Pros

Paylocity is a powerful and easy-to-use payroll platform with impressive functionality. The software includes thoughtful features like built-in payroll notes that make it easy to stay completely paperless and keep all documentation in one place. The seamless integration from recruiting and onboarding through payroll was a key reason we chose Paylocity, and it truly delivers an efficient, all-in-one experience.

Cons

Keeping a good payroll account manager. Whenever we've had a good one assigned, they get promoted or leave the company. On the positive side we've had great luck with the random service rep you get when you call in for help.

### "Paylocity can't be beat!"

January 29, 2026

5.0

I have worked with Paylocity for almost five years now and have found them to be the best HRIS platform that I have worked with.

Pros

Paylocity has the best customer support team! \[sensitive content hidden\] is the best account manager of all time. The collaboration that I receive from Paylocity is unmatched.

Cons

The reporting platform is difficult to use and could be more user friendly. I would love if they integrated with a client budget tracking system like, so we didn't have to use Replicon anymore.

### "Mostly good with one big pet peeve"

February 12, 2026

4.0

Mostly positive though they rotate various representatives at seemingly random intervals. Some will introduce themselves while others you discover when needing help. It would be nice if my payroll rep would stay with me longer than the short spans I'm currently experiencing.

Pros

Full featured - I can put most everything under one "roof". This makes administration and integration easier as well as making access more convenient for employees.

Cons

My biggest pet peeve with Paylocity is the inability to change an employee's ID - this should be updateable but appears to also be Paylocity's internal unique identifier for each employee. Also needing improvement - handling of time off between T&L and HR & Payroll.

### "Paylocity is an overall good Product "

January 29, 2026

3.0

Overall the experience lands in the middle at good. I wish more I had a hands on dedicated account manager that I could get to easily and schedule time with vs relying on an email or gambling on a call back. Someone that actually checks in from time to time would be nice.

Pros

The ease of use of this product is really great. It is very easy for employees to navigate, and the mobile app functions really well. The products I use suit my needs as a small/mid sized organization.

Cons

Customer support is often in form of an article vs easily getting to your account manager to assist you. The reporting function is sometime limited as well.

### "Best Multi-Use HRIS Platform"

February 12, 2026

Great experience with an all-in-one platform that continues to provide more value and access to information for our employees.

Pros

Separate Modules. You can start small with Time & Labor and HR & Payroll and then later add on modules like Recognition & Rewards or Performance. Peak Articles: Helpful AI and Articles that can provide assistance without having to reach out to a representative.

Cons

There is a learning curve. Once the Paylocity language is learned, it makes it so much easier to explain what the issue is that you are experiencing when you have to chat with a customer service representative.

### "Great Customer Service and Reporting System"

February 12, 2026

5.0

Overall I've very much enjoyed using Paylocity as a payroll provider. We use them for running payroll, time keeping, and onboarding, and will most likely add additional services to help our HR department.

Pros

The customer service has been very helpful when I encounter issues or need to make changes to our profile. I've never had to wait on the phone for longer than 5 minutes to speak to a person, and usually we are able to resolve the issue over the phone. I have no experienced any poor customer service from them. I also really like their reporting system, it has been very easy to navigate and run reports needed.

Cons

Some of the reports are only available to be ran in a PDF format, when a CSV file would be more efficient for the needs of the report.

### "Paylocity is a level above the rest when it comes to payroll and HR"

January 29, 2026

5.0

From our rushed implementation we needed to our end employees interactions with the app and system. We have been very happy with our team, the service and our everyday tasks. I would highly recommend anyone using Paylocity as it checks all the boxes for price, usability and available products included with the system.

Pros

It is extremely easy to use. The cost is extremely competitive compared to other products. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. The system is very efficient and simple to navigate.

Cons

Sometimes the help desk support can be a little slow but they always follow through. Reports can be a little cumbersome.

### "Help needs help"

January 29, 2026

5.0

I'd recommend it for sure. I do not like the help options but it's otherwise user friendly. To be clear, if I reached out for help I would get it. I just have trouble using self service help.

Pros

I think it's more user friendly than other programs I've used. It seems more up to date. Some other programs I've used seem outdated. However, I haven't used that many to compare.

Cons

I do not think searching for help on topics is easy. In fact, I think it's hard. I never seem to find the topic I'm looking for and I get too many similar options. I spend a lot of time reading over stuff I don't need. Additionally, when I do find instructions they aren't always for the version I have. The instructions don't match up with what I have on my screen.

### "So user friendly even a grandma can navigate "

January 31, 2026

5.0

It was a smoother transition switching from another popular payroll app which i am greatful for. Not a headache at all. The app is easy to navigate and has a lot more features than the other. 100% i like it.

Pros

I am a grandma i didnt have computer class i had typewriter class so i am not tech savvy at all. I was nervous having to use a new app. However to my surprise navigation of the app is simple. I love that you can clock in and out on the app and can look at your hours with ease and if there is a discrepancy you are able to put in a request to have it changed to the hours on the clock you know to be true like if you forget to punch in or out. It gets fixed so fast. Keeping your work hours accurate for the pay period.

Cons

Putting in for PTO on an emergency and then having it approved only to have it denied right before payday. I wish it would send a notification text saying this was the case so i wasnt shocked at my paycheck. Some of us depend on a certain amount of money on payday and when its 400 dollars short it is a shocker and stresser.

I've been working with Paylocity for almost 3 and a half years. The product has been getting better since we started. Always room for improvement.

### "Responsive Customer Support & Robust Features Offsets Learning Curve and UI Challenges"

January 16, 2026

4.0

This vendor / product works very well, is reliable, robust, customizable, and has excellent customer support (better than competitors that we've worked with). We use the product for time & labor tracking, PTO balance tracking, and running payroll - it also offers features for HR document storage and employee performance reviews, but we haven't used those much yet. Due to the robust features and customizability offered, implementation was quite involved, and the UI isn't always intuitive; however, whenever I call customer support, they're very responsive, knowledgeable, and effective. I've been an admin for this product for multiple years, are there are still things I don't understand about pay types, cost centers, export matrices, PTO accruals, etc. The only real headache I've had with this product is the inability to change certain, specific things from my end. For example, editing PTO rules / accrual rates has been difficult in the past - they make me fill out a form with tons of questions (some don't even apply to our usage), and whenever I do that, I feel uncertain whether my responses will result in the effect I hope for. I've heard they're building a client-facing accruals team, which I'm sure will help bridge that gap. All that being said, this product has been very successful for us, and we plan to continue using it for the foreseeable future.

Pros

Customizability is definitely a huge win for this product - editing pay types, earnings, deductions, taxability, PTO accruals - it's really easy once you get past the learning curve. All the settings go quite deep and could be implemented in a vast array of use cases. Customer service - it's easy to get in touch with support, and the team has always been very responsive, knowledgeable, and effective. Time card approvals, time off requests, and manager / supervisor roles work very well. Managing teams is quick and easy (again, once you bridge the learning curve), allowing you to edit supervisors for time off requests, etc. Departmental mapping has been a win for us. Paylocity also seems to release frequent product updates, so they're definitely investing in the product's future with innovations. I love the "check calculator" feature, which allows us to input checks into payroll that we print outside of the software.

Cons

The inability to edit our own PTO accrual settings (or, at least, easily) was a pain point for us, and took quite a while to sort out through multiple attempts and form submissions. I dislike how often I have to switch between the "Time & Labor" section and the "HR & Payroll" section. I wish those two were a bit more seamless, as they work together closely - I often open two tabs at the same time so I can have one page open on each tab, just to reference info or accomplish a task. Lastly, I dislike how complex and vast the UI is. It serves its purpose well and can be highly tailored to any use, but I often find myself clicking around trying to find that "one page with the little setting on it." If I need a feature or setting changed, I often call support, as that seems to work more quickly than navigating the UI.

### "Where Paylocity Shines—and Where It Stumbles"

January 29, 2026

3.0

Overall, it has been a learning experience with Paylocity. It has it's ups an downs like most systems. They are expanding but are still in the early stages of the program, but Paylocity has come a long way since we first joined.

Pros

Friendly account managers that are willing to go above and beyond to help. The updates that are rolling in are addressing the issues that we had been having.

Cons

The integrations between modules are not as seamless as they should be. Examples are Time & Labor does not interact very well with time off in HR& Payroll. So far, I'm not sure we made the right decision to transition to Paylocity. We'll see how we feel once we're on to our service team and we iron out some kinks from implementation.

Pros

Value for money - one of the main reasons we moved from a PEO to Paylocity was to save money. And that we are! At 40 people, we're saving nearly 90k annually on service fees.

Cons

### "Paylocity review"

February 27, 2026

4.0

Overall, Paylocity is a very strong HRIS system and provides all the tools we need to support our organization. The onboarding module is especially impressive, as it creates a smooth and professional process that leaves a very positive first impression on our new employees.

Pros

Great HRIS system! It’s very user-friendly, and I appreciate that the team is always looking for ways to improve the platform. My favorite feature is how simple open enrollment is through the portal once everything is set up. The automated file feeds are also excellent — once configured, they eliminate the need to manually add information to carrier sites, which saves a significant amount of time.

Cons

The benefits support team has not been the best in my experience. However, when I call about other issues, the support staff are typically quick to respond and very helpful. Reporting functionality could also be improved, as there are additional charges for special report configurations, which can be frustrating when trying to access the specific data you need.

Their support team has always been so helpful, when we cannot solve a problem they make sure the hop right in with us to help. Also all of their systems are very user friendly and easy to learn/teach!

Cons

Most things we used to struggle with are either being built or on the horizon. The most helpful would be a more intuitive reporting feature in some areas.

### "Paylocity, the payroll and company engagement platform that everyone needs."

December 5, 2025

5.0

It has been great. I wouldn't go back to any of the other platforms that I have used before. It is just right for our companies needs. I see us being with Paylocity for a really long time.

Pros

It is user friendly and easy to use for everyone either on a computer or on a cell phone (Paylocity App). We use it to do company announcements, departmental trainings, payroll, and fun things to get employees involved with company events.

Cons

I don't have anything negative to say about Paylocity. I have used other payroll and employee communication platforms before and this one is easier to use

### "Great time-card and paycheck app for when you have a large crew! "

December 10, 2025

5.0

I found Paylocity a great app for both our afterschool program as well as our summer camp program. Teachers and staff were able to login or clock in for their shift. If there was an error there are multiple options to correct the error and have a supervisor fix it. there are so many features that allow you to Remind employees or participants of trainings of activities of anniversaries or birthdays there are opportunities for you to give praise and you’re easily able to see your upcoming and past paychecks. It was just a great app for our program.

Pros

It is so simple to use, it offers options for reminders, trainings, team/co-worker birthdays and shout outs, and did I mention it’s easy to use!

Cons

It requires WiFi, if you are using the app for clocking in and out of a shift and you are in a “dead zone” you will not be able to clock in or out.
