Their platform is also the most robust by a long shot. Pros We moved to Paylocity from another PEO, and Paylocity’s customer service, platform UI, and reporting features are far superior. Cons As always, when working with dozens of implementation folks and customer service reps, there will be one or two who drop the ball. These have been outliers, though. I have a minimal role in viewing prospective employees, their resumes and online communication tracking. Pros I like that Paylocity is a one stop shop, Everything from onboarding to time clock to performance evaluation to prospective employees is all one place Cons There is a lot to navigate on Paylocity. Pros Paylocity was the second time keeping after that I got to use within a company and found out that they were very Easy to use efficient with time reporting and had an outstanding customer service Cons The only thing that I found disappointing was that the issue of Paylocity not being available in my immature days of being a Restaurant employee so I didn’t have much accessibility to my previous times like others Review Source VW Vicki W. It does a good job at clarifying what is needed in the system when there is missing documentation. Pros Great Customer service and overall, pretty intuitive once things are up and running. We have been able to make adjustments as needed with ease. Cons Sounds like the program is not as intuitive for our Spanish speaking employees. I would probably rate this product a 8/10 just because I would like to see a change with the metrics dashboard Pros The Paylocity system is user-friendly and easy to use. The product overall is great however, the reporting system could be a little better to use, but it maybe we don't have the full product of Paylocity. The support staff is always helpful and friendly. The initial startup was rough but after that it has been smooth sailing. Pros The ease of setting up the time clock and support from customer support. The guides were easy to follow. I like the Paylocity's timecards and the customer service has been great. Pros It's affordable but doesn't have all the features of a more expensive provider. It is a good value for the money Cons The difficulty of adding a batch for misc. payroll adjustments. You need to setup a template that you can upload. It has been very interesting to incorporate and customize features based on our processes. Pros Easy and intuitive for setting up streamlining our workflow overall. They make it easy to create a smooth process and to update it as needed. Cons The AI assistant/help is not always the most reliable. The biggest one is direct deposit. If I want to do anything extra it usually comes with a large cost. Pros Paylocity works well for my payroll needs. For the most part the customer service team is very useful. Cons I have had a few problems that required the "tax dept" to get involved. You cannot speak to the "tax department." I must go through a client service member. The tax team is very slow. Cons It is sometimes difficult to change general ledger information. It's not something the user can do themselves. Pros I like that Paylocity is a all in one platform that combines payroll, HR, benefits, time tracking, onboarding, and talent management in one system, reducing the need for multiple tools. It is also user friendly meaning it has a clean, modern design that's easy to navigate for both HR teams and employees. Cons Some cons that Paylocity has is that it can be a learning curve for new users. Some users find the system overwhelming at first, especially due to the many features and modules. Also, customer support can be inconsistent. Sometimes there are long wait times or difficulty reaching knowledgeable support, reps, especially during peak periods. Review Source MC Michelle C. It also allowed for an integration with ATS, benefits admin portal and 401k. Cons Navigating the platform is a bit tricky. Everything is housed in separate portals and cannot be easily accessed from employee to employee. September 26, 2025 1.0 Paylocity was a huge disappointment. From the start, their staff entered incorrect tax info, causing unexpected large payments—and even after we flagged the errors, they happened again. Management refused to take responsibility, calls were missed or rescheduled, and their software is time-consuming and redundant. For just four employees, we ended up paying double what most payroll services charge while doing the work ourselves. Pros We were hopeful that Paylocity would be able to manage our small business payroll (4 employees), but we were hugely disappointed with their service. I can honestly say we cannot think of one thing we liked about Paylocity. I actually never even had to do training for use because it is that user friendly Cons I don't really have any cons for the platform. Paylocity is very intuitive! I have two separate companies that run under one umbrella, and I am still able to have reports that combine the two. Its great! Pros Paylocity is so easy to use. We were able to create a bridge with our 401k provider so changes are automatically made in payroll; same with our Benefits company! The support is incredible - especially when you need help walking through an issue!! Cons There are a few tricky things, but it is a very complex system that I rely on so that is to be expected! I LOVE the community its nice to be able to congratulate colleagues on milestones. It is very customizable I like to the option of changing the landing page to time and labor so my pay info is not displayed as I clock in sometimes with a coworker in my office. I like the employee time off calendar as well as we often need to cover for others so we can see if they are or are not already off that time easy to coordinate. I love the system a lot its easy to use very user friendly. Pros app and desktop versions availability which is great because we have 2 office locations and sometimes need to go to the other building. It handles our payroll and HR well. We are learning the scheduling part of it and it looks like this will handle our needs pretty well. Pros All the options are covered. Any scenario you might have, paylocity can probably handle it. Also I have found the knowledge base and the training to be quite helpful.
