My overall experience with Paylocity has been fantastic. I implemented Paylocity shortly after starting in my current role in 2024. I saw the need for a comprehensive HR Suite that would serve the needs for the employees as well as the leadership team.

Pros

Paylocity offers so much functionality, and it is affordable compared to other systems on the market. Paylocity is easy to use. Our employees love Paylocity as well. Being an HR Leader, I love the data insights and the data analytics the system provides.

Cons

There isn't much I can say regarding cons to Paylocity. The wait times when you call in for support are sometimes long.

### "Paylocity is easy enough, I'd recommend it."

January 30, 2026

4.0

Overall, for day to day use I like it. It's a lot better than some platforms other places I have worked used. It sends you a lot of notifications, so you'll know when you've missed a punch, or if you have a W2 ready.

Pros

It's very easy to use to clock in and out. Also, you can find you're company's calendar in it to stay updated on events. You can easily access your time sheet, or check stubs.

Cons

It uses your location to allow you to clock in. I don't mind that but it's a little wonky sometimes. For instance, I may be in the office trying to clock out but it says, I'm trying to clock out from an unauthorized location. Then I have to keep refreshing the app or walking around. Also, it's a little hard to navigate to certain information on the app compared to the website.

### "Don't wait, make the switch!"

February 12, 2026

5.0

We have been using the product for 4 months and I am happy we made the choice to switch. Knowing that I can call and get true support, when I need it immediately, is a huge relief. If it's not urgent, I can email my rep and I get a response relatively quickly.

Pros

Their customer service is far and above what our previous provider offered! It has taken us a month or two to get used to the system but I do find it truly easy to use and enjoy all the different features they offer. Their mobile app is great and my employees have no issues tracking time via the app or their computer.

Cons

There is so much to learn so the onboarding was a little overwhelming but eventually it all clicks! I tried to speed through the onboarding process, against my reps recommendation. It's worth taking your time as there is a lot to learn. I still have training modules that I need to complete, 4 months later.

### "User-friendly and easy to integrate "

February 26, 2026

Paylocity is very user-friendly and their customer support has always addressed my issues quickly and skillfully.

Pros

Paylocity is very easy to use for our complex and multi-funded nonprofit environment. It makes payroll a breeze and it also integrates with Employee Navigator.

Cons

Some of the issues I sometimes need resolved can only be addressed by accounting staff that understand the complexity of our nonprofit funding. I'd like to have the ability to edit my own mapping.

### "I would recommend Paylocity"

January 29, 2026

Implementation went well and overall had a good experience switching systems. Since we have been on Paylocity we have had few problems, but customer support is usually quick to respond.

Pros

Great customer support and very easy to use. I like that the system stays compliant with the law and catches errors.

Cons

The knowledge base sometimes is not very helpful, so I end up just emailing for customer support. Once they respond, issues are resolved pretty quick.

### "Easy to Use, With Great Help When You Need It!"

November 21, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has actually been pretty pleasant. One thing I really appreciate is their “Help” feature, where you can search through different articles to troubleshoot or look things up on your own. It makes the process so much easier, and it saves a lot of time because you don’t have to call the help desk for every little question. That being said, on the occasions when I have needed to call in, the Account Reps have consistently been very helpful. They usually walk me through things clearly and make sure I understand what’s going on, which definitely makes the whole experience feel a lot more manageable.

Pros

Employees have been sharing that the system is genuinely very easy to use, which has been great to hear. A lot of them have mentioned that the layout feels simple and straightforward, and they’re able to navigate through everything without feeling overwhelmed or confused. Even people who don’t normally consider themselves “tech-savvy” have said they felt comfortable figuring things out pretty quickly. Overall, the feedback has been really positive, and it seems like the system is doing exactly what we hoped making everyone’s day-to-day tasks a little smoother and less stressful.

Cons

Sometimes on the back end, things can honestly be a little difficult to find or figure out. It’s not that the system doesn’t work,it’s more that certain features or settings aren’t always where you’d expect them to be, so it can take a little extra digging around to get to what you need. Every now and then I find myself clicking through a few different areas just to track something down or make sure I’m in the right place. It’s manageable, but it does slow things down a bit, and it definitely takes some getting used to.

Paylocity has great customer support, easy to use for both admin and employee. Our employees have felt the ease of use when clocking in and out, tax forms, and their paychecks. We value that as admins.

Pros

The customer support has been very helpful. When we use the AI tool we have solved a lot of issues, but customer support has been there to answer many questions quickly.

Cons

The reporting inside of Paylocity is difficult to navigate. There are many reports that we want to combine, but are unable to because the information is stored in different sections of paylocity and they don't speak to eachother.

### "Works Well...Until You Need Help"

Paylocity Recruiting works for the size company that we are; simply out of the box. However, as a recruiting team, we've learned that many of the functions that may exist, are not accessible by recruiters if they do not have the onboarding function. What I find most debilitating is that after having exhausted my search of tools/resources, but still have questions, I do not hear back from our designated representative. In fairness, I understand that we were recently given a new rep, however, leading up to just a few weeks ago, I would never hear back and when I did, she first went to another employee who is listed as primary contact (as to validate my question).

Pros

Specific to Recruiting platform, the ease in moving candidates through and effectiveness in message outreach.

Cons

The reporting. I feel that it is not intuitive, therefore causes a clunky process that leaves me questioning the validity of the data. Ease of using and sharing repeatable form templates with hiring stakeholders; specifically allowing hiring stakeholders to review recruiter feedback, then using the same form, insert their interview feedback so that it is one document of feedback that is retained for record keeping.

Overall, I really enjoy the platform. I think it is so nice to have everything in one place, streamlined!

Pros

The product is very user friendly and the support is pretty fast. I also really enjoy the recruiting tool as you can text candidates and send offers directly through the portal.

Cons

It seems like it takes a while for glitches and such to be fixed. We have ahead a workflow glitch for 1+ years now and it continually gets pushed for the resolution.

### "Paylocity is a wonderful program"

November 21, 2025

5.0

Paylocity is a very user-friendly program that makes it very easy to process payroll and manage employees and their benefits. The ability to create so many different types of reports is a vast improvement over previous programs. The community section is nice so employees can chat and share messages and announcements.

Pros

The customer service is top notch. When our company was transitioning from Paycom to Paylocity their customer support team went above and beyond to make sure our team had everything we needed every step of the way during the transition. And since we've been using Paylocity whenever we have a question the customer support team is excellent about answering our questions and assisting our employees get the help they need to do their jobs.

Cons

### "Great HR/Payroll Solution!"

November 6, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with this HRIS software has been very positive. It’s intuitive, easy to use, and has streamlined our payroll processing significantly. The platform is visually appealing, which makes navigation and training straightforward for our team. It offers great value for mid-sized companies, balancing functionality and affordability well. While most features meet our needs, we would appreciate more customization options within certain modules to better align with our internal processes. Despite that, the system has enhanced our HR operations and improved efficiency across the board. I would confidently recommend it to similar organizations seeking a reliable solution.

Pros

Our experience with this HRIS software has been outstanding. It’s incredibly intuitive and easy to navigate, making payroll processing seamless and efficient. The interface is visually appealing, which enhances user engagement and reduces training time. It offers excellent value for the money, combining robust functionality with affordability. From onboarding to payroll, every feature is thoughtfully designed to support HR operations. We’ve seen a noticeable improvement in workflow and employee satisfaction since implementation. I highly recommend this solution to any HR team looking for a reliable, user-friendly platform that delivers both performance and aesthetics.

Cons

One area for improvement would be the ability to customize certain modules more extensively to better align with our unique workflows and organizational needs. With a bit more flexibility, this platform could be even more powerful. Still, we’re very satisfied and would recommend it.

### "HRIS Systems Engineer(Admin)"

November 6, 2025

3.0

My overall experience with the platform has been largely positive. I find it easy to use and intuitive to navigate, especially when managing day-to-day HR activities. Most modules are user-friendly and support efficient workflows, though some areas could benefit from additional refinement to enhance usability. From a financial perspective, I believe the platform offers good value for money, especially considering the range of features available. However, there’s room to improve the payments processing experience. Streamlining payment workflows and offering more customization in the recruiting dashboard—such as the ability to adjust tabs—would further enhance the platform’s overall effectiveness.

Pros

I appreciate the platform’s ease of use and the ability to navigate smoothly through most HR activities. The majority of the modules are user-friendly, which helps streamline daily tasks.

Cons

’d like to see more improvements in security access management. As a multi-company admin, I’ve noticed some limitations, and at times I have to reach out to Paylocity even for minor changes. The security role tabs feel overwhelming and can be confusing.

### "Paylocity helps with your payroll processes"

August 27, 2025

5.0

Switching to Paylocity was a great improvement for us. We utilize the payroll, systems, the time and labor tracking, onboarding, surveys, performance evaluations, and recruiting platforms

Pros

The best aspects about Paylocity are the ease of processing payroll, the automation of the quarterly taxes and the automatic workers compensation payments to the vendor.

Cons

Customer support is sometimes slow to answer questions. Even though you are assigned a customer support rep, I have never spoken with them. You always get a different person dealing with any issues- no one really knows your account.

### "A Truly Transformative HR & Payroll System"

November 20, 2025

5.0

Paylocity has exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s rare to find an HRIS that is both powerful and easy to use, but Paylocity manages to strike that balance perfectly. If your organization is willing to put in the time to set up the system thoughtfully, you will absolutely reap the benefits of everything this platform can do. I would highly recommend it to any HR team looking to save time, improve accuracy, and truly modernize their workflows.

Pros

We recently completed our Paylocity implementation, and I can honestly say the ease of using this system has been life-changing. Every part of the platform, from running payroll and building reports to onboarding new employees and accessing records, works exactly as intended. The interface is intuitive, fast, and thoughtfully designed around real HR workflows. Reporting is flexible and powerful, payroll processing is smooth and reliable, onboarding is streamlined, and finding employee information is incredibly easy. What really sets Paylocity apart is how seamlessly its features connect. The training resources, live support from implementation specialists, and the built-in AI tools make it easy to learn, even with such a robust set of capabilities. If you're willing to invest a bit of time in setup, you can truly unlock everything this platform has to offer.

Cons

The system is large and includes many modules, which means there is a learning curve in understanding how everything interacts. However, the trainings, live calls, and AI support tools make this much easier to manage.

Reason for choosing Paylocity

We evaluated several platforms—including Rippling, UKG, Proliant, and BambooHR—and ultimately chose Paylocity because it offered the best balance of usability, functionality, and long-term scalability. While each system had its strengths, Paylocity stood out with its intuitive interface, reliable and user-friendly payroll processing, and significantly stronger reporting capabilities. Its onboarding tools, employee experience features, and overall workflow design were more streamlined and aligned with what our organization needs. We also felt that Paylocity offered transparent and competitive pricing, which made it easier to understand what we were investing in and confidently plan for long-term use. Combined with robust implementation support and excellent ongoing training resources, Paylocity provided the clearest path to improving efficiency, accuracy, and overall employee experience—making it the strongest choice for our organization.

Switched from

[PeopleGuru HCM](https://www.capterra.com/p/162062/PeopleGuru-HCM/)

We chose to switch from PeopleGuru to Paylocity because our previous system created constant inefficiencies and frustrations. PeopleGuru’s user interface was difficult to navigate, payroll processing was clunky and error-prone, onboarding was not intuitive, and accessing or updating employee profiles required far too many steps. Reporting was also extremely limited, making even basic data retrieval time-consuming. Paylocity offered the opposite experience, an intuitive UI, streamlined payroll, smooth onboarding, and powerful reporting tools, so the transition was an easy decision.

Overall, my experience with Paylocity has been extremely positive. I oversee payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, offboarding, time & attendance, HRIS data management, and system-level configuration—and Paylocity supports all of these areas seamlessly. It has allowed me to streamline processes, standardize workflows, run cleaner audits, and support my organization more efficiently.

Pros

Paylocity has become the core of our HR work because it’s intuitive, customizable, and powerful for both HR and Finance. The platform is extremely user-friendly across modules—Time & Labor, HR & Payroll, Community Hub, Onboarding, and Performance. I love that I can manage payroll, run audits, configure cost centers, support benefits, run reporting, handle historical data migrations, and create workflows all in one system. Their customer support has also been great—my AMs \[sensitive content hidden\] respond quickly, escalate issues when needed, and walk me through best practices. Overall, Paylocity saves me hours each pay cycle and makes complex work actually feel easy.

Cons

Some areas, like cost center updates, historical data migration, and timecard corrections, can take a bit longer due to how certain workflows are structured. Occasionally, the backend configuration requires multiple steps or support tickets, especially for complex items like GL mapping or account alignment. But even with that, the support from Paylocity usually gets things resolved quickly.

Switched from

[RUN Powered by ADP](https://www.capterra.com/p/185859/RUN/)

We switched from ADP RUN to Paylocity to improve accuracy, streamline processes, and reduce the amount of manual work required for payroll, reporting, and employee data management. ADP RUN was limited in flexibility, especially for growing organizations, and required multiple workarounds for even simple tasks. Paylocity offered a more modern, integrated, and user-friendly platform with stronger reporting, better workflow automation, easier onboarding, smoother GL mapping, and more comprehensive HR tools. The switch has significantly improved our efficiency, reduced errors, and created a much better experience for both administrators and employees.

### "Review of Paylocity for Multi-State Operations"

November 20, 2025

4.0

Overall, Paylocity offers a strong platform with great features. However, our business operates across multiple states, which adds complexity and creates challenges on the back end.

Pros

It’s easy to use and intuitive, with a wide variety of articles available. The AI Assist feature is especially helpful, providing guidance and suggesting relevant articles for further support.

Cons

We have experienced several challenges with Paylocity, including occasional inaccuracies in time-off accruals and balance transfers, incompatibility with employees in American Samoa which requires manual work, and improperly configured EDI. Additionally, customer support could be improved, as resolution times are often long even with a dedicated manager, and frequent changes in account managers (at least three times a year) create inconsistencies. The AI handbook feature is not suitable for us since we have 2 handbooks, California and Multi-State.

At start of of service with Paylocity, it was great. Currently MAYBE 50/50. Even this review, you have requirements but it those requirements aren't met, it is rejected.

Pros

Currently I can only give a minimal positive service provided. We receive more excuses without a fix offered.

Cons

Customer support is soo ineffective lately. When we started with Paylocity customer support was very quick & helpful. Now it takes 30 minutes before your question is answered. ### "Reliable System With Strong Support"

November 21, 2025

4.0

My overall experience has been very positive. The support team is consistently helpful and easy to collaborate with, and the Paylocity newsletters are a great resource. They provide clear updates on upcoming enhancements and new features, which helps us stay ahead of changes and plan accordingly.

Pros

First of all, I appreciate the way the system is designed — not because it’s “pretty,” but because it’s truly easy on the eyes. For someone who spends a significant amount of time working in the program, that matters. The clean, intuitive layout also makes navigation easier for employees, which is a big plus. I also like that the system is customizable. Being able to tailor features to our specific billing processes and organizational needs has been incredibly helpful and saves a lot of time. Customer service is in my top three priorities. I really value having a dedicated and knowledgeable service team that understands our account setup. The team has also been consistently responsive, which makes a huge difference in our day-to-day work.

Cons

The primary issues we’ve experienced are related to technical glitches. Employees often mention having to enter their login information twice in a row, which can be frustrating. We’ve also seen instances in the Performance module where pasted text doesn’t always save correctly. These aren’t constant issues, but when they happen, they interrupt workflow and create confusion for users.

### "Paylocity Review"

November 21, 2025

4.0

The smoothest parts of my experience are in the day-to-day HR functions, and that's the most critical part. Timekeeping, payroll, employee data management, etc. all have to be smooth and functional, and I can rely on that with Paylocity.

Pros

Wide range of product offerings. Active development of their product, with newsletters to keep admins in the loop.

Cons

Reporting is mediocre; to get what you need, it often takes pulling multiple reports then aggregating and manipulating them in Excel or Power BI. I wish we had more control over what users see in the app, specifically the ability to hide functions we don't use.

November 21, 2025

5.0

Overall, paylocity is great and I do like that changes are based on user feedback. There is always going to be room for improvement, but I believe paylocity is heading in the right direction.

Pros

The customer support from benefits \[sensitive content hidden\] and service \[sensitive content hidden\] has been amazing. I have gotten answers quickly and been able to resolve issues in a timely fashion.

Cons

Can be confusing keeping up with the changes. I know ample communication is sent out. Just with normal workload, it can be difficult to keep up with the changes. I also am not thrilled with the reporting analytics. For some of the reporting that I have done, I usually have to pull several reports to get the data and most of the time it's trial and error.

### "Great Product and Service for the Price"

November 21, 2025

4.0

Overall I had a very positive experience with Paylocity and it's a system I would recommend to others. No system is perfect, but I think they provide a really great product and service for the price. Not only that, they are always looking for ways to enhance the products and stay ahead of the evolving technology.

Pros

Paylocity is extremely user-friendly, and I appreciate that when I'm not sure how to do something I can easily refer to the Knowledge Base which has answers to most of my questions. If I still can't figure something out, I can call the Service Center and usually get an answer. They are also quite prompt at responding to email tickets, even if it's just to acknowledge they've received the ticket and it will take a little more digging in to.

Cons

The implementation process was a little bumpy for us. The account manager assigned to our implementation was transitioning to a new role which unfortunately left us falling behind from the very start as he wasn't as engaged as he needed to be. Our new account manager was great, but because of the tighter timeframe, we weren't able to implement the Benefits piece at the same time as the other system go-lives which was disappointing.

### "Paylocity - bang for your buck!"

November 6, 2025

5.0

Overall, Paylocity has been a game changer. We've saved money from the prior HRIS, while receiving a full suite of modules and access. We are operating more efficiently, and our employees have appreciated the new platform compared to our prior.

Pros

Paylocity has made accessing different modules and tasks easy and streamlined. The dedicated support team and knowledge articles makes it easy to get support and answers. The platform allows a lot of self service as admin, so we can tackle configurations on our own without waiting on a Paylocity rep. The platform is also user friendly, both for employees and admins.

Cons

The reporting in Paylocity is okay, but could definitely be easier to create dynamic reports. There are also some glitches - while Paylocity is quick to step in and help resolve, it would be great if the glitches were non-existent.

ADP was costly and customer support was not very good. There were a lot of errors when we went through implementation, and cleaning up the system was next to impossible.

### "We are loyal customers!"

November 6, 2025

5.0

While I can't adequately speak to the payment processing functionality, I know that our company switched to Paylocity several years ago and we have been much more satisfied than we have been with other payroll platforms. There is a lot that Paylocity does well, which is why we have been loyal customers for such a long time!

Pros

It is very easy to use. Their time card feature is intuitive and employees are able to navigate it quickly and efficiently. On the employee management side, we like the great value for our money and the ability to run reports for our compliance agencies. I use it daily for the recruiting function as the HR Director and I like this platform and the onboarding platform.

Cons

It did take a little while to learn how to build some of the tasks associated with both the onboarding and recruiting platforms, but I was able to figure them out. The one time I was stumped, I contacted customer support and jumped on a Teams call for assistance.

### "A lot for the Money"

Very good bang for your buck. For the most part, working with Paylocity is very easy. The pro's more than outweighs the con's with them.

Pros

It is very user friendly and has great trainings. They stay up to date on the everchanging employment laws which is very helpful. I love that they are continually enhancing the products.

Cons

Customer service is not outstanding and the reporting system is not always accurate so you have to continually double check them.

### "The life of a Paylociter"

I would say my experience is quite good I give them a 7 out of 10. They have a lot of positive aspects about the system. The payroll has been made a lot easier, and the time and labor is self-explanatory. Would i recommend Paylocity to another organization yes i would if they had under 50 employees.

Pros

customer support, I rarely have an issue with getting someone on the phone. the people are great on the phone and 85% of them know what they are talking about.

Cons

there are some system issues that need to addressed such as the accrual rates and policies. Certain employees pto sometimes wont transfer over to payroll. I thin kthey could have better reporting reports, I have a difficult time searching for some reports it needs to be easier hopefully AI can assist with this. I think the onboarding could be a bit more streamlined and the performance appraisal would be better if they included the 360. I love the training they have but if they can add additional training for supervisor or leaders that would be a great addition.
