Pros I love that the employees can log into Paylocity and view their own checkstubs and tax records for the past several years. We love the ease of processing payroll too. I also love that if we have questions we can call and anyone can help us. Cons Sometimes I feel the use could be a bit more intuitive? For example, we max out the number of vacation hours that employees can roll over from year to year- we've had some difficulty in the past truing up these numbers. Sometimes running a bonus check batch is tricky- again, we can always call (& have done so) to get support though. I love the ease of use and I love the app as well as a reference if I need to enter time off or access paystubs. It's great! Pros I like how easy it is to not only use paylocity, but how simple the process is to update bank accounts and other personal information. I also like that it's simple to sign up for and locate benefits. Cons I have no cons to offer because paylocity does everything that I need from a user standpoint. It works as it should. Pros Paylocity was a convenient way to track the hours I worked, and submit timesheets for regular payroll. From opening the app or webpage, it's easy to enter the time I was clocking in and clocking out. Timesheets can be reviewed at a glance, and submitted for payroll processing. Cons It was a bit cumbersome to navigate to the pages where one can check their tax documents and withholding selections. Review Source SR Shauna R. Pros Paylocity has elevated our companies use of technology. Favorite feature is the Self Service Portal empowering employees to be accountability to their information. Surveys has been useful and the LMS has been utilized more. Cons It would be nice to send a notification out to employees without involving "Community". We have recently integrated more of our benefits with their system and it seems to be a seamless process. Pros Processing payroll is easy to use with Paylocity. Standard reports are useful. Customer support is helpful. Cons I don't like that if you have a payroll tax question, for example, you can not directly talk to a tax professional. I understand that they can't instruct us what to do but I still feel advise should be allowed. Also, creating reports is not always that simple. The report writer is a little cumbersome. It was not a smooth roll-out and we continue to have to work through some issues each week. Overall we are more satisfied than with our last payroll software. I think it will take some time, but we still believe that it was a good decision for us. Pros The fact that our staff can clock in and out remotely from their cell phones is great. Not having to print paystubs each time because they are available online is very nice. Cons I hate to put this off on COVID, but we have had customer service response issues and I hope that it is only due to the world of working from home. I would like to have a better response time than what we currently have. Account Manager Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Confusing System For Accessing Important Information" September 10, 2019 3.0 WebPay from Paylocity is a clunky, difficult, unforgiving platform that appears as if it should be much easier to use than it actually is. For materials that are so sensitive to users, one would hope that they would be easier to reach, unfortunately, WebPay does not allow ease of use. Pros I do enjoy some of the features that show comprehensive numbers and statistics regarding my paycheck and pay, hours worked and logged vaction time - the figures that are easily and readily accessible are great on this platform. Cons As a user, I feel that accessing paystubs and information regarding paychecks should be a painless and relatively easy process. With Paylocity WebPay, it feels as though every time I try to access a page or a separate part of the platform, I'm wildly sent back and forth through separate parts of the site/app, preventing me from doing what I was attempting to accomplish in the first place. I dread going on the site simply because I know that I won't be able to easily look at the pages I'm trying to access without being redirected unecessarily spun around the site. I love the fact I have access to this portal from anywhere. This option allows me to transmit payroll, run reports, update records from home, vacation, etc. Adding/deleting new earnings/deduction codes can be done by me. I do not need to get the approval from Paylocity to update my account settings. Employees can easily find their way around the portal, if used frequently. It's a slow learning process but eventually they embrace it. Managers have access to their team's information so instead of me providing the info they need, they will log into the portal and look for the info. Report writing is very simple. I am able to customize my own reports. I still export into Excel and format it, but overall, pulling the info I need is easy enough to do. There is a phone app for Paylocity, which is employee friendly! This is a great option if you're not in front of a computer to update personal info and submit time off requests. Reports live on the cloud, so no hard copies are provided when payroll is transmitted. Cons One thing I like least about this product is managing time off. We use a different system to track time and unfortunately the two systems do not talk to one another. We Pay does allow for me to keep into account the employee's time off to reflect their pay. Unfortunately, because of our industry, the time off submitted is always not so accurate so the system is set up to only track time off requests. I manually have to enter taken time - info based from extracting data from other system being used. I don't know if this system offers mass updates. I don't know if I can change a deduction amount across the board. For example, I had to increase each employee's medical premium by going into their records. It would have been nice if I had the ability to mass update all the employee's premiums based on specs. I would love it if I can edit a canned report. This option is not available. Pros The ystem has a lot of great options and provides everything you need. Cons The system is aging and they are slowly making efforts to improve it. Its clunky and not as user friendly as other systems that are out there. Reason for choosing Paylocity At the time it made the most sense for us to go to them. Payroll was able to run quickly and smoothly. Reporting was good. Pros Employee self service navigator, PTO tracking and turnover reporting were great tools. Overall paylocity is cost effective solution. Cons Customer support was not always the most responsive when we inquired about customized solutions, API integrations or reporting. The best part is the customer service and the dedicated representative to help with everything we need. Cons As a seasonal business, there are a few things that are difficult to manage. Simply because we hire over 400 employees and then terminate them in a few months, there are certain processes that take longer than they should if there was more ability to do things in mass. I do not have an extensive background in Human Resources but have been able to pick up the features on Paylocity very quickly and make sure our company is staying compliant. Cons There are several specific features that have not worked well for our company or have been more trouble than it was worth to implement. One is the scheduling feature and the other is tracking employee time off. Pros The recruiting and onboarding has been the most impactful feature for our organization; our previous software did not have these features, so all recruiting was done with paper. Cons The major con of the software is due to the complicated nature of our overtime structure, which we were assured Paylocity could handle, but it turns out that the process would require a work-around that would not appear in time and labor so that staff could actually see when they are being paid double time vs straight overtime. Pros The products are user friendly from both the desktop and mobile perspective. We have implemented many of the modules that are offered. I like having everything in one place! Cons There are a few hiccups here and there that are frustrating to encounter. Customer service is generally quick to respond to the inquiry/issue but slow to address technical issues. Pros I find it to be easy to use as an administrator. Configuration options allow for flexibility and the customer service is great compared to other software I have used. Having a dedicated account manager means that there is someone available, and being able to call a number and speak to someone is really helpful. Cons Sometimes finding where configuration options are is tough, payroll vs. company set up. But, overall, there aren't many changes I would make, and none that I can think of.
