My company provides Broadband Service Assurance Solutions to companies all over the world. The product and services provided in many ways are customized to a particular market based on their specific needs and network. However one common theme in all markets is improving testability which is measuring the accuracy at which measurements and analysis are performed. The Sisense Dashboard application was chosen as it provides a comprehensive set of tools allowing implementation of customer specific dashboards in a short period of time. The people at Sisense are extremely knowledgeable about their product and are always willing to assist. I have had the pleasure to work with many individuals within Sisense and have many productive meeting and conversations with Alex Rich, the Tollgrade Customer Success Manager. Pros There are so many options and capabilities with the dashboard application that I see over time being able to enhance what I deliver to the different markets. This is important to keeping customers engaged. Cons Customer service trouble tracking is sometimes difficult to keep up with; tickets are closed before having an opportunity to look at suggested resolution. Review Source Peter C. The drag and drop feature is a very easy way to create great looking dashboards. It's very fast when it comes to pooling data from different sources. It's easy to customize it using custom Javascript plug-ins. Sisense has one of the best support. They are always ready to help with any issues. Cons The mobile version is not as good as the desktop version and really needs to be improved. It's not easy sharing dashboards with other users. Qlikview, tableau, Tibco, Birst, Domo .. I could go on. SiSense blew us away in all aspects. It is so far ahead of competing software platforms in nearly every way. Their pricing model is straight forward and simple to understand (the same could not be said for Qlikview especially - who try to sell via resellers). But most importantnly the technology that drives SiSense is miles ahead of anything else we saw. Both in terms of technical capabilities and visual design and access. SiSense has allowed us to take all of our crucial data from hard to reach places and deliver it to key members internally AND externally in a simple and powerful way. Their support is attentive and always accessible, training and account support is always helpful and they have a fantastic user community that can answer most questions. We love SiSense. This company is truly on the bleeding edge of big data. Combining data from multiple systems is simple with their ElastiCube caching system. The ability to write pass-through queries at the time of importing the data and then custom SQL expressions on data within the cube means that the data can be arranged and linked as if it was natively in one large relational database. The visualization tool is sleek and easy to modify. The ability to add community-made plugins means the visualization options are virtually endless. My customers, both internal and external, routinely compliment the appearance and value of our BI implementation. Pros Community-driven Plug-Ins allow for unparalleled customization for someone who is not a developer. Cons Joining data outside of SQL expressions is an enforced inner join and null values will drop from tables. Be careful about dropped data! Pros The concept is fantastic. Ecubes are an awesome way to assemble data models and use them. The permissions are very powerful and granular. Plugins help further extend capabilities. The ability to integrate in multiple ways was a game-changer for us. Cons Even on elite-level hardware, there can be some odd latency issues depending on how your data models are structured. With our users having access to data immediately instead of waiting on others to provide it for them, we are making more proactive decisions. Pros Sisense has enabled our organizations to leverage data to identify and solve business problems quickly. It was easy to set up, build data connections, and create custom visualizations. Sisense support is super helpful and extremely responsive. I fell like whenever I have a problem, it is being resolved quicker than I expect. Cons There are some formatting things that could be easier (in one row of widgets, have a columns that has two widgets stacked vertically, for example), but honestly its great. February 4, 2016 5.0 I had first introduced SiSense to a Midwest business in Ohio. It is a nice sized firm focused on Revenue Cycle Management for Radiology Practices across all 50 States in desperate need of modernizing both the look and feel of their current set-up, as well as the functionality. While knowing reporting upgrades were necessary, I knew that whatever the choice, I needed to be absolutely precise when replacing the old with the new. I also knew that we needed to run both systems in parallel to implement safely and smartly. All of these items were communicated to every vendor during the vetting process and for nearly a whole quarter- It was the incumbent verses the likes of SiSense, Tableau, Domo and others. Ultimately, I chose SiSense based not only on the product's flexibility, but the company's "All-Hands-On-Deck" approach to understanding our business prior to telling us that it would do things that it couldn't. From the pre-contract "sales funnel" to the on boarding staff's attentiveness, there was patience and willingness to help us learn and embrace all feature sets helpful to the business. In the end, I would and will use SiSense over and over again. For small to medium size businesses, the product is pretty straight forward using a quantitative and tenured employee or two. For larger, more complex installations, I do recommend having a web/app/dev type of staff member available during the initial build process, which is what I ultimately did, but ONLY due to the complexity of the metrics needed to run this particular business. Today, the product continues to take on new shapes and forms, especially as ad-hoc requests encourage reporting in ways deemed previously unattainable to this company. Finally, with the continual attention to detail that SiSense provides to its clients, even during their own growth, I will gladly use and recommend this product for large, medium or small implementations across the foreseeable future. Good out-of-the-box functionality and documentation. Community and company are extremely responsive regarding additional features and support. Speed of the application and the usefulness of the analytics are fantastic Cons Limited visualizations can be painful, and the community is not as large or robust as other vendors. It affords me the opportunity to engage in scopes which have helped to build me personally and professionally. I cannot go a day without being on Periscope. Pros I like the upgrades and the haste to resolve issues. The quality of programming is basically great. Cons Sometimes the app crashes and you miss your broadcast or cannot get back on for a while. Plugins, custom javascript, upgrades, and new features ensure that I'm always improving the analytics I can do with the tool. Also the ability to set regular email reports, download dashboards as pdfs, and quickly push changes to the users lets us answer business questions on demand in a way we never could before. Cons One of the things I dislike most about SiSense is their Elasticbue build process. As our data models have expanded we've found it difficult to manage the build times of our larger cubes which can take several hours to build. For instance, we cannot build changes to the cube while one of the regularly scheduled builds is occurring and the 'stop build' functionality has never been very responsive. It is my understanding that the next version will completely redesign the build process so I'm looking forward to seeing these changes. Review Source JK Jeremy K. I really like their upload CSV functionality. They recently improved their error reporting for troubleshooting query issues which was nice. Their support is extremely responsive. Cons Dashboards with a lot of widgets can be clunky and slow to load. Reorganizing widgets on a busy dashboard also can be a bit frustrating. Being a true end-to-end BI solution has its pros and cons depending on the scope of your needs, but overall I have been very satisfied with my choice to go with SiSense. Pros Many BI solutions require significant infrastructure and/or IT resources to administer/manage its implementation. SiSense does not require this, and its ease-of-use, speed of performance, and broad feature set will satisfy most BI needs. Cons Pricing based on user discourages widespread adoption. Further, this intuitiveness is a major advantage for our clients to interpret their data easily and accurately. Cons The customer success team could have better internal communication that would allow them to review earlier tickets submitted and see if they are related current support tickets. Pretty easily to manipulate as someone that doesn't know too much about coding. Cons Without SQL experience you'll find it hard to customize your charts the way you want it. You'll need to partner with data analytics team or dev to do that for you.
