( I am an end user, not building my own SQL reports). Pros I like that Periscope runs stable and doesn't have any downtime (as far as I've noticed). The tool also runs pretty quick no matter how much data/graphs you run in a dashboard. Cons I do not like their filtering system, meaning the way sorting in filtering works. The filtering should be set up similar to Google Analytics with pre-set fields e.g. data ranges compared to date ranges in the past. It would make it much easier to use it Review Source Felippe F. Comparing to other products, it offers a reliable and fast (given a correct modeling, that can be difficult sometimes) way to centralize all your small and big data. Besides, Sisense has an amazing and fast-responding support team. Cons Most of its features, specially in the visualization end, are limited and depend on plugins and/or JS programming. It's an incredible opportunity that expands on Facebook Live for instance that allows for more interaction. It's a great piece of technology that becomes a tool instead of a crutch. Pros It's so easy! You pull up the application, you select go live, and then you are connected with the planet. It doesn't cost anything which is a big plus. The ability to connect and interact with students, family, and friends is a remarkable opportunity. The picture quality is sufficient. Cons The fact that anyone can comment can be more than an annoyance. As a teacher there are some things that you can't control and ugly or profane comments are a constant concern. I go live from around the country in an effort to connect students as well as family and friends to my summer travels, so there are moments where people can comment and be inappropriate. You want the ability to interact, so this is the downside. It enables users to quickly build advanced dashboards with its out of the box standard functionalities. Building data structures is fairly simple and can be done without writing queries. However, it is still possible to write queries on top of your data. I also love how flexible it is. There is a standard set of widgets, sure, but by making use of plugins, javascript, and the API you can edit the widgets to fit your need. There is also the option to white label the system to fit your brand. Overall, Sisense is a great tool that really helps to deliver business insights to your user fast. Cons The API connector documentation and connection process could be improved and some basic functionality could be more robust. Pros From day 1, Sisense and their support team are there to get you going. They are ready to go immediately and will work as quickly or as slowly as you would like. The comprehensive training materials their support team offers was great and is a continued asset when there is something that I do not understand. The tool itself is powerful and intuitive. You do not need to be an expert data modeler to take full advantage of this tool. Cons There are a limited number of out of the box widgets. More can be easily added through their plug-ins though. For new costumers, really easy to setup and to get quick and high quality insights about your data. Cons Version updates doesn't go "smoothly" most of the times and most updates are inconsistent between the test and the prod environment. Random bugs and problems. A lot of times the program is working slowly. Long build times. The product is quite flexible and cover its missing functionalities with dozens of addons and scripts. Cons Feels like the dashboard design part is lacking comparing to other tools in the market. A lot of basic functionalities that can be easily done elsewhere are missing out-of-the-box and require approaching support for assistance. Also the community seems to be lacking moderation. The product also works with little to no technical knowledge but can be greatly expanded with the knowledge of SQL and other scripting. The roadmap is possibly one of the pros that I'm most looking forward to. I can't wait for the new funcationality to roll out Cons My least favorite experience was after the purchase. We had a slow onboarding (some of it due to internal resources), and scattered data modeling sessions. This was unfortunate as getting the model correct is critical with any BI tool. It is super useful for managing not only big amounts of data but also complex data schemas. Cons Although I've managed to style Sisense dashboards, it was not straightforward at all and sometimes my clients require a lot of branding put into their dashboards. We found that once we have data available in Sisense our users would keep asking for more and this was easily accomplished as opposed to previous BI tools we used. Overall we love making dashboards quick and easy with Sisense. It has freed up a lot of time that allowed us focus on our core business metrics. Cons If there was a weakness it would be in the very thing that gives it strength, Customizations. We rely heavily on customizations either directly from the vast library of supported plugins or from a very mature on your own customer marketplace and that is a great option but we would like to see more of the widgets taking on more features directly out of the box.
