Sometimes there is a tendency to simply ask for .dash files and tell us to turn all widgets off....and that usually means the person hasn't read the issue properly. It wastes time and is frustrating. Other than that, I have found everyone sincerely wanting to get to the bottom of things and be supportive and helpful. Pros Great design - dashboards are looking wonderful and clients love them. The interface is generally simple and easy to use - don't have to be a coder or developer to use it. Cons There have been some bugs. You can build a working dashboard in minutes as long as your data is normalized. It can analyze large amounts of data very quickly and present the findings in a number simple and easy to understand views. The filters are also very easy to adjust and implement. Overall it was a pleasant experience creating dashboards using Sisense and the Customer service team was very helpful in answering any questions we had. Cons Very Important to ensure that your data is normalized before building the cube or dashboard. This is more of a basic requirement than a con, but is necessary for successful data aggregation. We have been able to solve both internal and external data visualization challenges and are able to win new business with the offering! Pros Sisense is very flexible, allowing customers to visualize any data in a clear and actionable way. You can create multiple dashboards and re-use them for future projects - or you can start from scratch if you want to. The possibilities of displaying data is endless, and Sisense is much more flexible and customizable than other platforms. We can also rely on their customer service team whenever we have a question or challenge Cons It takes some time to get used to navigating it and you may need support from their team once you get started. It's perfect for IT departments that want to empower their users to be more educated about their data and help their user to make data-driven decisions. With the abundance of data connectors, intuitive and powerful data mapping GUI and easy to use dashboards for both technical and non-technical user, Sisense is a great choice to serve as your data and BI back-end. Pros Powerful data-mapping GUI with great support for custom SQL and pre/post build plugins/scripts. Intuitive dashboards for non-techies and tech-savvy users. Dashboards support customisable plugins (with strong community support) and scripts to satisfy the power users. Great API support for automation. Solid technical support to help you with any technical challenges. Access to features request. Speedy delivery of new and useful functionality to increase the value of the product over time. Cons The new features can't come soon enough, but the roadmap looks solid and promises to deliver lots of goodies. The API documentation could be improved, some more advanced functionality is not as clear as it could be, but there is always tech support to compensate for that. While it is possible to deploy operational style reports (making SiSense a standard reporting solution for the eneterprize) - it is more complex to define and deploy standard OPs reports. Allows access to multiple data sources in a straightforward manner. Cons Some widgets need additional development. Text is sometimes obscured depending on what is being displayed. The automated scheduled reporting feature is a key feature for our organization to provide senior leaders key snapshots. The Customer Service team and IT is exceptional! They go above and beyond to help clients be successful. Cons Hoping to have more live data as well as a better Elasticube manager interface in the new 7.0 version. It was simple for even a novice to pick up and I like the fact that they are forever improving the software and listening to the people that use it. Cons We have experienced a few problems with the server and regularly have to reboot the system when the dashboards decide not to load during they day. January 10, 2018 4.0 Pros Being able to create dashboards and customizing the permissioning on these dashboards. We are able to make certain read-only dashboards public to external parties. In addition, the visualization and aesthetics have been done well, making the data is a lot more presentable to users. Cons The pivot table functions are somewhat limited, so if I wanted to create columns in the pivot table that contain processed data from other columns, I would have to do that in the query itself. In addition, you can download each gadget in different formats such as: CSV, PDF, Evcel. While it took a little more effort than they first implied to make it performance, we were able to quickly get really good reporting set up and deployed. Cons Sisense lacks Software Development Lifecycle tooling. The ability to version, share development tasks, advance through staging environments not adequate for a development company.
