Easy to use, Great and fast customer support. Allows controls across the organization, great module distribution

Having an easy and more friendly access to manuals, but it is solved when we request support, the response is almost immediately

We are happy with NorthStar, the Nexus update was well worth the wait. We are barely scratching the surface with the features and modules we use.

Pros

Northstar offers a one-stop place for all membership management options. The ease of members being able to make reservations for dining, events and pay bills on our member websites was a strong selling point.

Cons

The ease and configuration of setting up new functions is difficult. Support is responsive but lacking in any real information, this can vary on situations. Sometimes fixes and assistance is rapid, other times it can takes weeks to address.

I love it! There are very few operational challenges our team brings to me that I can't find a way for Northstar to support. Over the past few years, we have expanded how we use the platform throughout the club. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Pros

Customer service is exceptional. Our dedicated support team is always available to answer questions, and they regularly meet with us to develop creative solutions tailored to our club's operational needs. Northstar is an extremely robust system that can accommodate virtually everything our club requires.

Cons

The downside of such a robust system is its complexity. Occasionally, a small configuration issue within the many back-office setup options can cause a specific feature or function to stop working. While these issues are typically resolvable, they can take some time to identify and troubleshoot.

Overall, our experience with Northstar has been extremely positive. While the implementation phase presented some challenges, the benefits of the software have far outweighed them. It has improved efficiency, streamlined workflows, and provided excellent visibility through detailed reporting. The flexibility of the system, particularly within the POS and Banquets & Events modules, has allowed us to tailor it to our club's needs. We continue to see value in the platform and would recommend it to other clubs looking for a comprehensive management solution.

Pros

Northstar has significantly streamlined our operations across multiple departments. The POS is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for staff to learn and use efficiently. One of the standout features is the live reporting, which provides detailed, real-time data that allows us to monitor performance and make informed decisions quickly. The ability to customise the POS and push live updates without disruption is another major advantage. The Banquets & Events module has been a game changer for our club, particularly the automation of booking processes, function management, and detailed reporting, which has greatly improved efficiency and reduced manual administration.

Cons

The biggest challenge was the implementation process. The installation could have been better managed, with more hands-on support during the transition. Changes and enhancement requests can also take longer than expected to be actioned. As an Australian club, adapting to some of the American terminology throughout the system took some time, although this has become much less of an issue as our team has grown accustomed to it.

Excellent, we receive timely and attentive service, and are gratefull for that. We want to continue to grow with Northstar and reguarly support other clubs and their development. I would be nice to think some training free of charge could be reciprocated

Pros

My Team are all on the same page, instead of working across 24 diferent software. I no longer have to wait for a staff member to get reporting questions answer nor deliver service to a member.

Cons

The website and communications modules are not as user friedly as we would like. The private and public duplication is very ordinary and is costing us more time than I care to imangine.

The entire software support team are stupendous and go above and beyond to fix issues, are always polite/professional and make suggestions/apply fixes. \[sensitive content hidden\] provided the selling demos that caught our eyes, \[sensitive content hidden\] training gave us tools to fine tune and \[sensitive content hidden\] spent significant time fine tuning all of the needed setups on our 5 new modules. The Northstar team was exceptional. The Northstar software runs our club from food and beverage orders, to tee and court reservations, front desk pool registration, APPs for member access, payments on line, to g/l reports; paying bills, you name it.... our club's day to day needs are fulfilled by your team for over 20 years now. Northstar is delivering on the promise of having everything we need on one platform. Our biggest frustration before Northstar was that our POA/accounting, golf, food & beverage, and recreation facility operations were all set up with different best-in-class systems. The Northstar approach pulls everything we need onto the same environment. It's not easy, but it's worth it. The process has not been as smooth as we would have liked, but we're pleased with how responsive the support team has been over time. And we know this is SAAS, so we aren't locked into the "2023" model — as improvements are made to the platform, we will reap the benefits along the way.

Pros

Pulling all our property and member data into one system for all the services we offer was the biggest challenge and is the biggest benefit of Northstar.

Cons

The implementation process is necessarily complex, and our prior setup was especially complicated. Garbage In, Garbage Out. We brought a lot of garbage to the table, and that led to challenges with the implementation team and out accounting team.

There are a million reasons why I would tell someone to use Northstar for developing/ designing a website and mobile app. The team went above and beyond with everything through the process. \[sensitive content hidden\] was the Project Coordinator, and he is outstanding. The communication is superb. Him and his team would always keep me updated throughout the process of the website build and design. We had several meetings to discuss design elements to make it customized to our country club, and \[sensitive content hidden\] would always make sure those elements were brought to the website. Once the website and mobile app launched, I was speechless. Everything that they had worked on was officially brought to life and it was an honor to work with \[sensitive content hidden\] and his team. If you are considering redoing your website, do it, because you will not be disappointed with the final product.

Pros

The communication is superb. The team would always keep me updated throughout the process of the website build and design. We had several meetings to discuss design elements to make it customized to our country club, and they would always make sure those elements were brought to the website. Everything is extremely organized; I could look to the schedule to know what is coming up or what I need to provide for the website. Everyone was so professional and personable, it made it an enjoyable project. They are also flexible and understanding. The training meetings were perfect. All of my questions were answered in a polite and informative way. Not to mention the meetings were recorded so it is nice to have everything as a reference.

Cons

I don't have any cons from this process. If I had an issue or needed help with something, they were there to help me find a solution.

The Northstar Support is helpful and thorough! Our Project Coordinator answered all of our questions and guided me through how to change and make updates to our Northstar website.

Pros

It is easy to use and to manage our large database. As a large HOA this is important to us. The customizable nature of the software has benefited. The support team has been helpful is working through our needs.

Cons

At this time, I can't think of any cons. With the size and uniqueness of our Community, we have found ways to utilize the software to find all our needs.
