Pros

  • Excellent reporting capabilities; I like. How easy it is to pull invoice reports.

  • Quick links are super convenient and it keeps great history of everything you did. Search function is very detailed as well.

  • Ariba reduces time and effort and the best part is that the approvers can provide approval through the email and they don't need to go in the system to do it.

  • I would like to mention that the kind of application Ariba is very easy to use and understand and provide us the option to draft, negotiate, approve and sign within the system.

Cons

  • Absolutely painful is what I call it, every time we have to use it because it is a requirement of a customers, I cringe.

  • This was a much awaited piece from ARIBA for most customers using Sourcing and wanting to have an entire procure to pay.

  • Also, potential risks from contract expiration are averted with the use of Ariba Contract Management.

  • Ariba is slow at times and it logs you out in the middle of something. And even though it saves what you were doing, it's annoying that you have to log in again.

"The easiest and most robust system I have used."

Pros: Ariba is great in the sense that it combines so many features in the same spot - purchasing, vendor maintenance needs, accounts payable, travel and time sheets. Quick links are super convenient and it keeps great history of everything you did. Search function is very detailed as well.

Cons: Ariba is slow at times and it logs you out in the middle of something. And even though it saves what you were doing, it's annoying that you have to log in again.

"Ariba is a very good CLMS. It reduces time and effort. Its a user friendly system. "

Overall: Ariba Contract Management system gives an easy and smooth platform to route contract for drafting, negotiation, review, approval, signature and archiving. It helps in saving time and effort. Review and approvals are very easy as approvers can provide their approval through emails.

Pros: 1) Ariba reduces time and effort and the best part is that the approvers can provide approval through the email and they don't need to go in the system to do it. 2) Reporting and monitoring is very easy in Ariba. You can take out customize your report. Contract Facilitator can setup automatic notification 3) Contracting steps are very easy and the system is user friendly

Cons: At times the searching functionality is slow and it keeps loading the pages for some time. However overall its good.

"Just a repository"

Overall: it is just a Repository it takes a lot of time to analyse information store there, SAP tech supprt is limited

Pros: easy to learn, easy interface, collaborative interface

Cons: a repository where every collaborator can add information and documents without a structure or workflow that could make searches or reporting easier in the future

"Great product and service for any company in procurement"

Overall: Awesome product for any company that works in procurement and keeps track of contracts and payment processes.

Pros: Allows our customers to keep track of all contracts with associated vendors and staffing firms. User friendly.

Cons: Very detailed user interface. Occasionally I will lose track of my progress and have to start over from the beginning.

"It is a great tool for contract management, not so user friendly though"

Overall: It is a very comprehensive and useful tool for controlling the requests of contracts by business users (Directors control), it allows for the distribution of the contract drafting workload among the legal department, it also allows to draft, negotiated, execute and backup agreements, following a process that involves the user, the other party and the lawyer. I highly recommend it.

Pros: It is very customizable, allowing us to determine the fields we need filled out for every contract request, the process and point persons for approving every request and the contract drafting workflow process tailored to our needs. After customizing it, it is a very complete and useful work tool for requesting an drafting contracts.

Cons: It is not very user friendly. As a lawyer, it is the tool I use on a daily basis for the drafting and execution of contracts, but the business areas that request the contracts (which use it only for requesting the contracts they need) have a very hard time learning their way around the tool.

"great middleman for suppliers and clients"

Pros: You can receive POs and submit bills automatically

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve when launching. However the on boarding team is great

"Great for Reporting / Bad for Usability"

Pros: It has a ton of auditing and reporting features but pretty unintuitive to use. I wouldn't recommend this again

Cons: I think it needs to be more intuitive and take a page out of design from mobile web pages or apps. A lot of the options are hidden and take too many clicks to get to.

"Not a complete solution fot contract management. Is not a full lifecycle management system"

"Its a universally used platform but have to undergo a lot of pain before becoming expert"

Overall: It has helped me to grow in my job which involves a lot of contract management. It helps me search for old contract info and dig up information which otherwise isnt very easily available.

Pros: I really like the way it has been designed to handle all contract documents and managing the different stages of the negotiations and contract approval process.

Cons: Searching something in Ariba is really difficult and painful. It is difficult to learn as to how to navigate through all its features to accomplish what you want to do. Its not very apparent.

"Ariba Review"

Pros: OK for contract management, not great. Seems a bit clunky and perhaps better designed for procurement activities.

Cons: The document importing process can be rough. Sometimes system is slow to respond. Good, not great.

"Ariba Contracts : Great connecting piece at not-so-great price"

Overall: The time to award long term rate contracts after the auction reduces sharply. Also, potential risks from contract expiration are averted with the use of Ariba Contract Management

Pros: The integration with Spend Management and Sourcing modules is seamless and helps create rate contracts with suppliers at the click of a button. The reminder functionality is also standard.

Cons: The price. This was a much awaited piece from ARIBA for most customers using Sourcing and wanting to have an entire procure to pay. There is no singled out cost for this module but overall project implementation costs are pushed higher due to this and the functionality is pretty standard and cheaper off the shelf solutions available in the market

Alternatives Considered: Ivalua
Reasons for Switching to SAP Ariba Contracts: Since we were migrating to the entire ARIBA suite, we chose to include this piece as well for seamless integration

"Ariba contract management makes life easy by authoring a contract without efforts"

Overall: Contract management gives clause library functionality which is very useful for saving all types of standard clauses. This can be dragged easily while authoring new contract. Also easily identify the changes made by other party, as it is integrated with MS word. Easy to track changes and saving your all types of contract at one place by defining folder structure. Best ERP to use.

Pros: Clause library and contract management functionalities.

"Most User friendly software "

"It is been a delightfully working with Ariba application because of it's functionality. "

Overall: It is a one stop shop for all contracting tool. It is a complete CLM's tools. It's reduced the lot of work for contracting.

Pros: I would like to mention that the kind of application Ariba is very easy to use and understand and provide us the option to draft, negotiate, approve and sign within the system. It is a SAP based system which is allow us to have multiple functions within the system. This System is a complete CLM's tool.

Cons: The only feature which needs to be improve is their searching and it's report functionality.

"Best P2P Software"

"It works"

Overall: Our experience is over and over when purchasing goes for bid and has never been an easy experience.

Pros: Our team is challenged to find what we like most. We use the system when responding to proposals, contracts, bids, etc.

Cons: 'Clunky' - feels antiquated, our team says it feels like a greenscreen.

"Has everything but you might need to be an expert to use it"

Overall: My overall experience has been good as once you learn to use it you get used to it and its very useful.

Pros: I liked the ability to execute all tasks related with the contract in the very same project workspacem

"Best system for managing your contracts End to End"

Overall: Its a great software that covers end to end contract management. Saves a lot of time .

Pros: 1. It can be integrated with docusign, that makes things even more faster. 2. Single repository for all contracts inside your organisation. Search any contract from anywhere. Honestly this avoids any duplicate creation of contracts. 3. Since all contracts can be stored electronically on Ariba, can avoid lose of contracts and manage easily. 4. Dashboard saves me. Dashboard will have contract status such as expired contracts , expires with in a month or so. You can take necessary actions by seeing the dashboard.

Cons: The system is not user friendly. Navigating to particular item is quite difficult. Requires more practice.

"Strong but cumbersome "

Overall: Customer service is wonderful but the platform is a little basic in terms of customer interface.

"Ariba"

Overall: I am required to invoice a client using the Ariba system. Overall it is transparent and allows greater traceability for the client.

Pros: I am able to track invoices I submit in one convenient place.

Cons: The user interface was not very intuitive.

"Just don't like"

Pros: I can not say I like anything about this software including customer service, no one even speaks our language

Cons: EVERYTHING - Customer service is Terrible and they send about 3- 5 emails a day that is unnecessary.

"Contracts are in control!"

Pros: This tool allows you to manage your contracts in process an contracts request, approvals and workflow is very fluent and easy to follow.

Cons: Could be more intuitive for beginners and non regular users.

"This Program Needs an Overhaul"

Overall: Absolutely painful is what I call it, every time we have to use it because it is a requirement of a customers, I cringe

Pros: I can honestly say there is not one single thing that I like about this software it is not user friendly at all.

Cons: I can definitely say I dislike everything about this software, the main page is clunky and not very streamlined. It needs improvement in every area.

"It's a one great solution for contracts life cycle management. "

Overall: It helps us to create contracts with end to end process. Also simplify the process and helps to manage contracts easily.

Pros: It's cloud based system and end to end solution for contracts. Drafting and negotiation is never easy without using this software. Automated signatures makes it more easy to sign the contracts electronically. Linking SOW & Amendment with MSA is easy and assigning the contracts in bulk to facilitator is also very easy.
