January 8, 2018 5.0 Pros When we developed our online prenatal and parenting program we needed a learning management system that collected data from parents registered in the program as well as software that had a variety of interactive elements (widgets) to make the classes engaging. We found other learning management systems not as flexible or were to expensive. The software authoring program provides a variety of interactive elements allowing the creator to develop engaging online learning classes. The learning management software (LMS) provides flexibility in how the classes look and are delivered. The software also offers a variety of reports that can be used to track the progress of learners taking the classes and the demographics of the learners based on the metadata from the learner registration pages. Thinking Cap staff have been willing to accept challenges that have arisen when we have licensed our parenting program to other agencies. A licensee of the parenting program wanted to collect specific demographic data, such as postal code, gender, and marital status, but did not have its own registration system. Thinking Cap designed a system that not only handled all the registration tasks, but collected all the required demographic data in an easy-to-use interface. Cons For new users to learning management systems, some may find this program challenging to use at first. Thinking Cap provide training and are supportive if questions arise. Review Source TB Tim B. While there were initial growing pains, the wide range of features and functions available to us in this LMS has been critical to the success of our program. Pros Our unique course distribution model and user profile required an LMS that was both customizable and equipped with robust learner support features. Thinking Cap LMS provides us with both of these requirements, along with a range of other features and functions that we use on a daily basis. When issues do occur, the Thinking Cap support team has been reliably efficient at resolving these issues quickly. Cons As a 15-year client of Thinking Cap, most of the issues we had with the LMS were in the early years of this product and were due mainly to growing pains. Review Source MC Menai C. Their Thinking Camp allows them to bring together their customers allows for networking as well as bringing new ideas to the table for implementation. Pros Long-term employees - know the system inside and out Robust system - Lots of features to be utilized within Thinking Cap, Initial training on system is quite detailed. Thinking Camp brings customers together for two days to build the future of Thinking Cap and puts your ideas into their road map. Cons Speed can sometimes be a factor - whether uploading a file or making a change, or loading a page. Support tickets can sometimes be slow-moving through the system for correction. They provide a solution that understands the users. The LMS gives the users as well as administrators complete control. Pros It is a platform that makes easy to create or import content and deliver it to an unlimited number of users. The LMS easily be integrated with hanks to its features: User synchronization, data exports and Web Services API. Our non-technically people find it easy to use. Pros Robust in the sense that it hasn't given us any problem. Functions reliability. Extensible Flexible Good Reporting, learner searchability. July 3, 2014 5.0 ThinkingCap provide a highly customizable LMS that has really stretched to meet our organization's needs. What I like most about ThinkingCap is their team. They're responsive and agreeable. Every LMS is going to have bugs and will present you with challenges, but having a team of people there to work through these issues has been a breath of fresh air.
