Our customer service team is very responsive and has helped solve issues even on the now outdated version we use. Pros Our company uses ImageSite primarily to share & control revision of our engineering drawings. It is also used to retain documents both in ongoing records and in records that require the latest revision to be available to all employees. We also store & control access to our medical & ITAR documents. One unique feature we use daily is the ability to set up print sets that allow us to automatically print out sets of documents daily (preset groups of drawings required for each day's work order packets). Cons We are still using the older Java-based version, so we have some trouble getting the Java settings correct on each new user's computer. Reasons for choosing ImageSite After meeting with the sales people, I did not feel comfortable that the competitors could offer the print set services at the price quoted. Only one company seemed to understand what we needed, and another offered lots of customization, but customization typically adds on costs that would be equal to the cost of ImageSite, our current & trusted product. Our drawings could only be seen and modified directly by engineering and drafting. No at least the field can see the drawing and get a copy of it. By design they still can't modify drawings directly. But all groups now can view the drawings at the same time and discuss them which is a major improvement. Workflow has been a little frustrating to use. Also metadata setup has been a little troublesome. Pros I like the web based approach. It allows our field tech's to be able to see the drawings using an internet connection. Cons You still need to work on the creation/development of workflows. While the current version is a major milestone of its functionality, there are limits to what you can do with it still. The support services are excellent. Pros The ability to view AutoCAD and Raster Images and to create mark-ups on the documents. The tool has a large number of features and capabilities. Cons The application is designed to only store the documents in a file structure. It would be beneficial if it could also store documents in a blob. Reasons for choosing ImageSite ImageSite offers a great wealth of functionality at a reasonable price and they are willing to add new features into the product that are very beneficial.
