Pros: The freemium model is enough to get anyone new to CRM started quickly.
It's all "pay as you go", and you can bolt features on as needed. I wanted something that tells me what, when and how I did something, to whom and when, what the outcome was, and will then nag me to do the next thing.
And, for me, RSS does all that perfectly.

They also run free webinars which are also recorded in case you can't make it on the day. These are worth watching - I found I was missing several tricks and now get even more out of the system. I'm particularly impressed with the email integration which saves the whole endless copying and pasting debacle. It really is simple, but perfect at what it does.

Cons: All of that said, yes, the interface does look a little tired. However, I've seen the new version which should be launched by late summer 2016 and it's really impressive.
They've rewritten it with a responsive interface which works much better than the current version on a mobile.

Because the underlying functionality won't be changing significantly, they're going to let users initially choose whether to be "early adopters" of the new interface, which is a nice touch as change sometimes scares people!

I'd found a few tools that do a limited number of things very well and help my business in other ways, like Trello, Toggl, gmail and so on, but I was struggling to find a CRM equivalent.
I'd tried a few SAAS cloud solutions that would have been overpriced, and I tried installing a couple of open source solutions like SuiteCRM which proved to be way over the top and bloated for my needs.

Finally I hit upon RSS CRM and we were the perfect match.

I went to their first user conference earlier in 2016, and what impressed me greatly was not only how good and enthusiastic the CEO and his staff were, but also the other customers.
I'd already experienced support via both phone and email (even though I was on the free plan at the time), and it was nice to actually meet the team for real, and know that they aren't outsourced from some sweatshop in a distant place. It's a UK company with a "proper" UK phone number, although there are support offices in other countries too, to account for the timezones which is good.

Recommendations to other buyers: Just give it a try before you mess about installing things like SuiteCRM and waste hours like I did!

A really good product from a UK company that fits the bill perfectly.

Pros: We selected this software for the ease of use. In addition, there was little required for our employees to access immediately. After using this for half a year, it continues to meet and exceed those expectations.

Logging in is done through a browser and does not require additional software. Sharing contact information, outstanding tasks for clients, and client specific documents are all easy tasks that are quite intuitive.

Also adding new users requires very little effort since there is no software required for to install on an employees computer.

Cons: There are several activities that are a bit clunky/annoying. When adding revenue, it is treated as an opportunity instead of simply entering the revenue for a client. Several apps within the program will also mark this revenue with the British pound instead of the U.S. dollar despite the fact that our settings are on USD.

Additionally for reminders you have to use your google calendar instead of the system sending you reminders. When setting these reminders in Google calendar, it always incorrectly translates the date/time to GMT despite the fact that our calendars are on EST. So you have to be careful to reset the correct day/time when entering in to your Google Calendar. We would greatly prefer a reminder system within the program itself instead of the current clunky process.

Overall: The greatest benefit is sharing of customer/contact information internally across team members in an easy fashion at a reasonable price.

Pros: As expected it's simple to use and get the hang of - basic but functional. The latest version - 5 - is bright and clear on the screen.

Cons: The architecture is inflexible and really didn't suit our business (combined B2B and B2C) without us fudging workarounds. We would have lived with it, and even put up with the mid-term price hike they sprung on us, but it was customer service that killed it. Emails and phone responses were cold and unhelpful. I know they are British so we were prepared for the attitude, but even with that they didn't seem to care about a small business our size. This spurred us to look around, and we found solutions out there with totally superior architecture and service that were priced similarly. So, to the relief of my staff, we made the effort to migrate away.

Overall: It was adequate when we started out, but the service forced us to explore other options.

Pros: perfect for CRM basics of sales & marketing, deployment and customisation is so end user friendly, I have not found anything to come close. You don't need any skills, it's built in such an easy to use way. You can import and export your data without any issues.

Most people tend to over-buy on the technology, fail to deploy the basics and end up with a useless CRM. Really Simple Systems does all the basics so very well and unlike other CRM's where you buy then need to purchase further apps and add-ons just to make it do what you wanted in the first place, this just does it.

The support from the team is always very quick and they will jump on a call also if you need it.

If you want a cost effective tool that really work great for sales and marketing where anyone can use it with little to no experience or expertise, this is your product for sure.

Forget the bells and whistles CRM sales people try to lure you in with.. If you want core basics to deliver, it's these guys.

Cons: If you want more than sales and marketing, if you want all those apps and add on's then look elsewhere.

Overall: super fast deployment of sales and marketing function. Ease of use, ease of modification.

Pros: Affordability. Ease of use. Mobile interface. Unparalleled Customer Support.

Overall: After being a bit overwhelmed by a number of different CRMs out there, I was determined to find something very basic with A) a limited amount of fields (but enough to do the job), B) affordability, C) excellent support and D) ease of use on mobile. Really Simple Systems has delivered on all counts- and then some.
I sent an email to support mentioning that, although I love the software, I had two things on my "wish list" for their next update. I sent that request on a Tuesday morning. I received a reply within an hour (!) telling me they think they could accommodate me on both fronts. By Wednesday morning, BOTH of my requests had been incorporated into the software. Yes. You read that right. 24 hours later! I was blown away as these two enhancements continue to save me time and money on a daily basis. My advice for anyone is to try Really Simple Systems for a month or two to get a taste of how easy it is to use and how amazing the support team is. This is a game changer for small business owners like myself.

Pros: Only pay for the functionality you need. Some other CRM's include marketing, systems management, financials, etc. but if you don't need them don't buy them.
Its a very easy system for users to pick up, comprised of a core architecture:
Customers \ Companies = Accounts
Contacts = the customers name, email, telephone
Tasks = To Do list
Activities = records the history of what you've done with that customer
Opportunties = Won or lost sales records

Then there's the reporting, where anything you put into Really Simple Systems can be interrogated, not just the content of certain restricted fields.

Cons: We're looking to do some integration and other CRM platforms easily allow this through API services, such as IFTTT or Zapier, Really Simple Systems only provide an API. You can of course code this into whatever you want, but will require time.

Overall: If nothing else the audibility of customer interactions, this allows us to see any \ all communications with the customer.

Really Simple is really simple. Which is really ideal!

Comments: As the owner, the manager, the sales rep, the customer service rep, in charge of returns, customer issues, I am the definition of jack of all trades. My business is just starting, but I realized it doesn't mean its not worthy of using quality software to help me save a few minutes here and a few minutes there. I was hesitant at first to go with any software because I kept saying to myself who needs management software when you are the only employee! But after getting some serial numbers mixed up with customers names one time... That was it! I needed help running my online business. I tried several different products. Started out using Team Viewer but then about fell out of my chair at the price. Used a Live Chat program for a while. But I cant always be at a desk waiting for that customer to hit the chat button. Then other CRM's were so bloated with stuff that just didn't make sense to my business. Then I spotted Really Simple Systems. The name is what got my foot in the door. I figured heck lets give it a try. So glad I did!

Pros: Has just enough information that its not redundant. I love the pay as you go approach. Instead of bogging us down with several hundred dollars worth of software we may never use, or even worse free versions that don't cover enough services to make you want to start using their products at all! I wanted a product that tells me what happened, when and how I did something, to whom and when, what the outcome was, and will then continue to bug me if I haven't done it yet.

Cons: Would like to see more third party integrations. Now days it seems like almost every app, software, smart phone, computer, tablet, printer, etc connect to each other somehow.

Recommendations to other buyers: As I tell employees, friends, family, with anything you really got to give it time to decide if you like it, love it, or truly hate it. Give it two weeks. What do you got to loose?

I have used other CRM software and RSS is all you need, it is simple but useful and to the point.

Pros: It really is simple. Reports are easy to run. I've used other CRM's and the reporting can be very confusing. It is not over done. It is a CRM, not trying to run your inventory or production from this software. You can pick it up on your smartphone and tablet, which is helpful for on the road sales folks. Quick support answers are always helpful.

Cons: The limit of the 20 fields.

Overall: Their Customer support is the best. I send an email and they respond quickly. I thought as a UK company, getting a response to a request would be the next day at best since I'm on the west coast. Some things are easy and I say Duh, but some are complex and you get the same excellent service. It is easy to do marketing campaigns, it is easy to change fields and add drop downs. You should think things out before moving forward but know that you can change a field. The flexibility is great. And there is also online help, videos, and webinars. It is simple to use and understand.

Recommendations to other buyers: Compare cost and what you actually need in a CRM and you will find this is the best product for you.

Glad to have a straightforward system, which just about covers all my needs.

Pros: I am able to contain all the relevant information about my customer in one place. I have been grateful for the prompt responses from the support team when I have had some issues.

Cons: Not being able to attach actual documents into the customer account. Not a big fan of cloud base systems. I have not worked out how to put alerts and reminders against specific customers, therefore I would like to be able to find this out alongside other applications, either by webinar or video link. Also just been advised that we have been upgraded from version 4 to 5. Layout is very different from the previous one. Not sure the change was necessary unless it substantially improves the ease of use.

Overall: A compact place to store all my customer sales information.

Pros: I have experience with some of the larger CRM products and they are probably justified for very large and complicated organizations. But, they are far too complicated, often times require programming or special knowledge to customize and are very expensive for a smaller businesses. Most of us need a CRM that provides the business basics such as forecasting, maintaining customer information, document and record storage and the ability to schedule and document activities. After trying quite a few options I found Really Simple Systems to be very easy to use and adapt to my business requirements. The cost is more than reasonable for what you get. I ran my business on the free version for quite awhile until I grew to a point where I wanted to add features that had a cost associated with them. Don't buy an over engineered product. Buy what you need.

Cons: So far it has everything I need. Since I am paranoid about losing data and loss of internet connectivity, it would be nice if the program could provide an option to reside on my computer. If the internet or my service is down, I cannot adequately run my business without access to Really Simple.

Recommendations to other buyers: Go on the internet and try three or four of Really Simple's competitors and then try Really Simple Systems. You will be sold.

Comments: WJ is a small local business based in Hull. We have around 30 employees and specialise in several different areas from anti-slip decking to Timber Treatment and through to metalwork engineering. As the company salesman it is essential that I have regular and consistent contact with my customers as well as a smooth way of keeping records of these meetings. Without Really Simple Systems I would use a diary to keep track of this. This however makes it very difficult for anybody but me to understand where we are with each customer in our sales and follow up cycle. I always struggle to maintain order with this. Really Simple Systems offers not only a great way to keep and maintain a customer diary but also allows me to keep meeting notes and documents all stored in the same that everyone can also see.

Pros: When we have ever had issues with the system and contacted customer service we have always had a response within 24hrs which has been understandable, concise and always helpful. the task setting and reminder system is accurate, amendable and 'Really Simple'. We had an issue around sales tracking and Forecasting where we wanted to be able to see monthly potential sales if a sale was to come off. However when we questioned and asked if this was possible within about 6 hours the facility to do what we want had been added in to the system which we greatly appreciated.

Cons: We have no issues around the system.

An easy to use, high quality CRM, with great features and excellent customer support.

Pros: Really Simple Systems is fantastic. I've never had an issue with it. It's a highly capable system with all the features you could need from a CRM. The email tool is fantastic and the dashboard gives you an at-a-glance look at your sales performance. Also, if you ever get stuck, their support team is incredible.

Cons: The only thing I haven't enjoyed is the time between version 4 and version 5. In the changeover period things became slightly clunky and it maybe wasn't as seamless a process as they might've wanted. It's all working fine now though.

Overall: As a company we've been able to grow considerably due to the fact that Really Simple Systems allows us to easily keep track of communications with our existing accounts and potential customers. We've been able to drip feed marketing emails and other mailshots using their fantastic email system.

Comments: I have been using this product for over ten years when I was introduced to it when working at Iizuka and subsequently for my own business. I have also introduced it to other small businesses and one homeless charity I worked for called Emmaus. RSS were generous enough to provide it pro bono! It was a fantastic way of keeping profiles of each resident and sharing the information should the resident move on to another establishment. It solved a complex problem very easily!

Pros: The product is very easy to use. It is easy to manager clients and the interactions with me. whether it be by phone or email. With the subscription product, emails can be synced with the client details which saves having to copy and paste.

Pros: The software is easy to use and navigate through. I love the fact that it can be tailored to meet your specific needs as this was very important to me and one of the factors that played an important role in me choosing RSS. Functionality is great and there are a lot of extra options that are available that I can switch on and off as and when I require them.

Cons: The customer service/support is slow at times and this becomes very frustrating. I have scheduled in calls in the past and the client service level has been poor where on occasions I have had to chase support for help. In terms of the software it is great that you add extra features but there are some extras which I feel should be included within the standard packages.

Recommendations to other buyers: Trial the free use of RSS and get a good feel for the system prior to committing. It's great to understand RSS and build on the services that you require from it. The fact that you can tailor your packages on a pay as you go method is abosolutely great and gives me the flexibility I need to meet my daily business routines.

Comments: We have been using Really Simple Systems for 7 years now and they have supported us the whole way through - nothing has ever been too much trouble, and any issues have always been cleared up promptly and effectively. Highly recommend.

Pros: I like that we were able to easily customize the system to our requirements and use web transactions to capture data from our website directly into the CRM. I also like the integrated marketing email functionality.

Cons: Some of my team found the old UI a bit clunky to get used to, though personally I have found it to be perfectly functional.

Pros: Easy to use. Low entry cost. Really good customer service.

Cons: Would like to be able to add notes or activities at an opportunity level.

Overall: Very simple costing structure and scale-able. Easy to start with the free version to try it out and upgrade as necessary. For some users could see how the free version might be enough. The system in generally fairly intuitive to use and replaces BCM well. Have used the customer support a couple of times and they have been very quick to reply and very helpful. Encountered a couple of limitations with the reporting but by no means a show stopper. Biggest down for us is the inability to add activities/notes on an opportunity basis. This can only be done at an account level.

Pros: Its integration with Xero accounts is what I like most. This has helped give an accurate reading of what is due to us and what is still outstanding. It allows all users to see information relating to the financial status of a customer

Cons: Its very manual and doesn't really let you sort with your own parameters/create your own invoice numbers. I think that the search option could be made easier.

Overall: It helps us to organising our clients. We will need more help in the future as we grow.

A CRM system that has grown with my business

Pros: Easy to use and different packages to suit different sized businesses

Cons: It would be good if the email integration would include email attachments

Overall: I started off needing a very simple system that effectively listed my client names and as my business grew I wanted more and more functionality from the system. RSS has always been able to support my needs, offering an excellent email integration function and a brilliant email marketing module to name just a couple! My business now wouldn't function without the help of our RSS CRM.

Pros: I like the interface of this software; it's clean, readable and the interface is intuitive. I was able to customize the software on a basic level to suit my needs entirely. The fact that it's an opensource (free) product, until you require extra services, makes it very appealing. One thing I like about the vendor, in particular, is the tuition and the tutorial resources available. This creates a sense of a whole package and made me feel like I really had got something for nothing.

Cons: I understand that the product is in early stages, so this should be read more as a point of recommendation, but the vendor should try to enable some integrations with other software (it's suggested that this is on the horizon for RSS). This is something which is very specific to my business (accountancy), but until that stage, this is where other CRMs (even if it means paying from the start) will win the custom, including mine. Seamless workflow is almost unparalleled in this respect On a side note, I find the colouring of the UI a little dark and depressing. The UI is easy but not very cheery (dark blue and black...)

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you make yourself aware of the customizable features of this software - it's easy to overlook the utility of a product like this for your business without realising how extensively one can tailor it to suit their needs almost entirely. You will get much more back from this product if you use it to it's full capacity and put lots into it, train your staff or users to use the software constantly to a strict set of guidelines and you can't fail.

Comments: We feel as though this product stood out from others evaluated with regards to its logical, intuitive and, yes, simple, structure and user interface. This version of CRM covers all of the essential tools (and not all options do): Contacts, Leads, Accounts, Opportunities Management, Tasks Tracking, Performance Reporting. Additionally, and critically important, is that it also has Marketing Campaign modules, which will allow us to leverage the leads and accounts database for e-mail and digital marketing campaigns for promotion of products, features, events, etc. In addition to the user interface being very logical and intuitive, it also permits a fairly wide latitude for customizing the data fields for contacts, accounts, opportunities and reporting ¿ which will be critically important for performance metrics tracking and reporting (there is an extensive menu of default reports, plus we can design our own custom versions). We can easily set up data fields to capture attributes for segment distributors, direct sales customers and market and product segments, for example. The straightforward and simple user interface should help as we add peer and support staff who will also need to adopt the use of the system ¿ hopefully, reducing confusion and errors. Their customer support has been fairly responsive so far, even when you are at the Free Level.

Pros: Easy start up. Other systems recommend consulting services to install. Not needed with RSS

Overall: We looked at other CRM systems but chose RSS because it appeared to be a simpler, easier way to start up and expand to additional features and far less expensive. We have not been disappointed. The system is more than enough for our needs. I would recommend anyone looking to install CRM look carefully at RSS.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you can't install your CRM without outside help, it's probably too complicated to maintain. RSS was easy to install and intuitive to use. Staff able to begin to use it right from the get go.

Pros: Easy to use. Cheap to use. Good customer service levels when i have had to call if i am unsure about anything.

Cons: IT CAN NOT LINK TO MY ACCOUNTING SYSTEM. I once tried to use it for marketing purposes and found it to be slow and not as good as other free email campaign services

Overall: Its so easy to use and does all the main tasks we need it to do.

Pros: The system is easy to use, it's flexible so you can adjust the headings and drop downs, we use the e-mail sync too which is hugely useful. It's the place where we go for all our client contact and management information now.

Cons: Tried the marketing module about a year ago, it's been updated since then but we found it a bit clunky and not significantly different to some of the cheaper alternatives, although of course, they wouldn't integrate with the client information. We would store documents in RSS too but 100Mb is not that much and at the price per month per 100Mb, our monthly cost would ramp up quite quickly.

Recommendations to other buyers: We are quite sure this system is capable of doing far more than we will need of it. The bits we use are just what we need, they work well, we've never had any issues with it and when we've needed any help it's be quick and efficient. We've never even considered looking at competitor systems for the day to day management of client contact and management.

Pros: It gets the job done without making things more complicated than they need to be. It's reasonably priced, and I can choose to pay for only the options that I will use.

Cons: I find the navigation is somewhat clunky, and there are more clickthroughs than seem necessary in some points. For example, it would be great to be able to mark a task complete, or add an email address to a contact without leaving the account view.

Overall: I own a small business operating in a very niche market and use the CRM to track my interactions with wholesale customers. I looked at some other apps when starting out and found that most of them were overkill for my small operation. RSS is reasonably intuitive for me to use and the mailsync option has saved me a lot of time spent going back through old email chains. I don't use the reports as much as I feel I could, as I haven't yet had a chance to set them up in a customized way to be truly useful to my processes.

The one thing that I would love to be able to do is to somehow link my task list to Asana, as I track all my other business-related tasks and projects there. It would be wonderful to have them all in the same place...

Pros: I really like the ease of use, it has simple clear functionality and can be easily customised. Top class product and great value for money.

Cons: Mobile version could be better - a dedicated app would be good with quick updates available when out in the field.

Pros: Simple functionality; great customer service. The emails work well to design and send out. Love how it won't let us send too many emails at a time and protects our sender reputation.

Cons: We still have not been able to link our registration forms in our wordpress site with this CRM. It is imperative that those who complete forms are automatically put into the CRM for follow up and monitoring. Our professional webmaster has still not been able to figure it out, which is why I say it's not "really simple system" to set up.

Pros: Ease of use, flexibility of pricing. Dashboard shows your accounts, tasks (follow ups etc) and activities. I found it easy to upload our current prospects onto via a spreadsheet.

Cons: Haven't found any yet but I'm sure we are not using it to its full potential. System has just undergone a complete restyle and this seems much more aesthetically pleasing.

Overall: Easy to manage our contacts across multiple departments. Great for follow ups and monitoring development staff.

Pros: We have remote workers who can update at any time. Next time I contact a customer I can clearly see who last spoke or emailed and what was said. Useful for the way we operate in our company.

Cons: Would like the software to be more sensitive when searching for accounts - similar to google. For example if I type in a company name -Really Simple and Systems - and I have it listed as Really Simple & Systems, the account cannot be located. Also when in an account then go back to the accounts listing you are taken back to beginning - it would be preferable to return to the account listing you were working on. Would like a little further advice on pulling off reports - did have a problem listing addresses on Excel for a mailmerge and the whole Excel had to be adjusted due to a 'quirk' in the software.

Pros: I am still using the free version and it suites me very well, I will update it in a very near future as I need some features that are not available in the free version.
The software is very comprehensive and cover all the main topics of a CRM system.
I search for other solutions and this is the best that I found.
I highly recommend it.

Cons: The part that I had more difficulties were in the reporting section.
I tried to add some fields but could not do it.Maybe because I use the free version.

Pros: It is very easy to use and has lots of customised drop down lists. I know rely totally on this software for management of prospects and account management activity. It is extremely good value for money. Reports are useful and can be customised.

Cons: When adding new contacts, it would be good to have a copy feature from existing contacts so that addresses and phone numbers etc don't have to be input again.

Pros: I have a small company selling school trips so my database is large but I have only a small number of high-value sales a year. I needed a simple CRM, which would efficiently transfer data from Salesforce. I trialled about 10 CRM systems but only RSS could do this without me losing data. The system is simple and is easily navigable but what I like most about RSS is the rapid response from technical support. They custom-designed a few pages and re-worked others to suit my requirements often within a few hours of my request. No other CRM system I trialled, even came close to this service. I also like the ability to pick 'n mix services which means I only pay for exactly what I need.

Cons: Small point, really - Activity data which was transferred from Salesforce is displayed twice under Activities. This is annoying and has to be removed manually. I had to abandon email synchronisation - despite dedicated technical support, my Outlook emails would not drop into the RSS activity section. I do it manually now.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that the data is transferred correctly from one CRM system to another. Data which is entered in one system under a certain title or field may not be transferred into the correct, or recognizable field in another CRM system. I ran both systems concurrently for several months to make sure I hadn't lost any data.

Overall: I have used this system for close on 10 years. When I took up my current position 5 years ago I installed the system as there was no CRM system in place. I find it the simplest most effective sales tracking system I have used in my 30 years in sales and sales management. We have numerous sales outlets across the country controlled from a main sales office and I am able to report effectively on sales performance across the business with minimal effort. The reliability of the system is first rate I have experienced very few occasions when I have not been able to access the system from various locations including on mobile phone/tablet devices.

Overall: We don't use the system for sales which has made the implementation process difficult. However with the incredibly helpful support team we have been able to modify the system to suit our needs. Support almost always get back to you on the same day and often go above and beyond what we would expect. The system is extremely flexible and we have been able to successfully make it suit our needs. It is now an integral part of our daily routine and makes everyone's working lives easier.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great shame you do not offer a proper 1/2 day payable training service as I would have paid for that to make the system work as we want it to do. You are losing revenue due to this and we are having to review other systems as we cannot get the marketing module to work.

Pros: Ease of use, easy to set up. Upgrade as you need more functionality. We found it superior to other more complicated systems, which had lots of functionality that we didn't require for our business.

Cons: Automatic log out too short, Some upgrade aspect are too expensive, such as number of accounts and marketing system. We found that we would like an integrated mail shot function, which is easier to use, but also without the other marketing features.

Pros: Lives up to its name - simple to use, clear linkage between accounts/tasks/opportunities has all the functionality you need and allows you to create a wide variety of reports.

Cons: Lack of flexibility around dashboard and lack of integration with productivity tools such as Outlook. Very happy with other features/set-up.

Recommendations to other buyers: Stick with a simple system - I have used many CRM tools and often you don't use most of the functionality you have paid for and see on your screen every day. This is a tool I have recommended into several companies with no problems. And the pricing approach is excellent.

Pros: I like the idea as to what he should be able to do - but we are having issues with some of the functionality - for example it used to post tasks to outlook but I can't get it to sync anymore

Pros: Ease of use and intuitive navigation.

Overall: This CRM does what it says on the tin, it truly is really simple to use. It is a very intuitive system which is backed by outstanding customer support. On occasion you will notice it lacks a feature, but the team work tirelessly to develop work arounds which are always noted and taken into consideration in future upgrades. I would definitely recommend RSS to other marketers looking for a CRM that is versatile and easy to manage.

Pros: Ease of use for customer accounts set up and features any problems have been dealt with quickly by the customer support team

Cons: Only issue i have had so far is wanting to pull a letter into a number of accounts although letters are a bit of a thing of the past so may not be an issue to many

Overall: A clear overview of our customers activity within each account and advertizing aims

Have used Really Simple Systems in several companies now and have found it a must have sales tool.

Pros: The functionality allows me to keep track of the whole sales process and keep track of customers.
Prospects can be added on to the system easily, with the marketing module they can be targeted with relevant sales info and quickly become new customers.

Comments: I wanted to introduce a CRM system to our small company in order to have a central database of client details and store documents against them. I've used CRM systems for many years in previous roles and found them invaluable as a marketing tool, so looked around for an online system and found the Really Simple Systems CRM. It's very user friendly and even the free version has a good range of features. A good value subsciption then adds other tools and the ability to link email to contacts etc. I haven't used it to its potential yet but I'm sure it will be able to grow with our company.

Pros: User preferences and the scalability of the site per device. No separate app. It runs perfectly in a mobile browser.

Cons: The "new" site, tends to load slower than the old sometimes. I wish there was a few different color pallets to choose from ie light, dark, grey.....

Overall: Keeping track of customer contacts and leads has never been easier.

Pros: Easy to use and gets all your sales enquiries organised as you go along. Ideal for a non techie person so it is perfect for a micro business of a large sales force.

Cons: I still have not grasped some of the terminology...like "opportunities". There is no box for email address'.

Overall: Perfect product to organise all of your customers and enquiries. Every sales business should use it.

Pros: Its very easy to use, flexible to personalise, perfect for small business!

Cons: Its restrictive to us because of the cost for extra data, and multi users, yes its really helpful but the cost structure, if you have multiple 1000's of customers and 6 user could be high. (we have 3 users, just over 1000 customer, with all the marketing and bespoke tools etc etc £121 ex vat Per month. (still worth it as its a great system, just wish I could add all my customers on to the CRM, all 6000 plus.)

Recommendations to other buyers: Just look about on line, its easy to get other options/demo's BUT non of them appear to be as easy to use as this system.

Pros: Ease of use and set-up. Having created databases before, I knew generally how to create what I needed. Having 'played' with a few before making our choice, I found RSS the easiest to navigate and most visually pleasing to meet our needs. Quick replies and actions to queries and support.

Cons: I would like to be able to set up timed actions, ie an email is sent automatically on a certain date to a customer as a reminder etc. Would also welcome the 'additions' being part of the programme - only found out after signing up that all the extra bits are chargeable which was disappointing. Would like to adjust my dashboard so I can see what is most important to me without having to be charged for it. More flexibility in reporting would also be good - at the moment you only get listing reports and if you want a graph you have to export yourself into the relevant software package to create your own graph.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look into what's included and how this fits into your needs. Make comparison with all other CRMs to get cost comparisons and sign up to trails first to find the CRM which best suits you and your business needs.

Comments: RSS is a great marketing tool for small businesses and startups. The software is focussed on gaining contacts and engaging with them, turning them into prospects and potential customers.

There have been great strides in improving the software this last couple of years with an overhaul of the email marketing and reporting.

Reporting could do with a little more work though, the output is generally not useful until it's feed into a spreadsheet programme to generate meaningful data.

You can set up custom fields for accounts and contacts which is very useful. Utilising lookup tables, you can get fine-tuned data in there.

However, there is little facility for going beyond this. Trying to handle events and products in the software is beyond its capabilities and becomes a chore if this is important to your business. Also, it's difficult to create a nurturing campaign to work with good prospects. Automated campaigns conflict with direct mailings and as such are risky to use.

As a straight-up marketing tool it is great. As a client / customer management tool it could do better.

A simple CRM system that allows you to have client and sales information in one place. Easy to use.

Pros: Its straight forward and logically set out. For a simple system there is a fair amount of flexibility to change task titles, drop down menus, reports etc. to make the system work how you want it to.

Cons: I think the 500 account records is a bit restricting on the licence. 1000 would be better for small start up businesses. Its too big a jump to 5000 on the higher licence.

Overall: It is allowing me to be far more organised with my sales and client account management activity. I am more confident of not missing sales opportunities and contacting clients at the right time to gain the business. Still getting to grips with it but the Webinars will be useful for ensuring I get the most from my licence.

Pros: Dashboard set out neat and tidy. Easy to follow. Also has a lot to offer as extra features to pay for which I don't mind. As long as it able to deliver what I needed.

Cons: None at present. Yet to test and see how it goes as I go along.

Overall: I never imgaine how easy your sofware would be. I have tried a number of different ones. This seems to give me more the dge on how simple it can be. Even my team found it enjoyable and amamzed how easy it was too. The system is not over technical easy to follow and digest. So yes great experience

Recommendations to other buyers: Having a CRM does not have to be so complicated as some make them. I agree if you require extra features to deliver then there is a cost to it. It is set up and sofware friendly. And well worth the money too

I use this and recommend to clients just starting out looking for a free database.

Overall: I used a free version and a paid version, and find both very easy to use.
I loved the way the system can be tailored to your own requirements, and being online it is accessible from anywhere. The mobile version is not as easy to use as the desktop, but you do have that functionality.

Comments: Having taken a break from RSS CRM to a Corporate Microsoft Dynamics CRM, when I set up Vox Ignis Ltd we went straight for RSS again

Pros: simple, web based CRM so it can be accessed in McDonalds on the road, good to use and good reporting so I can get a snapshot of activity at any time.

Pros: Free software to start with, which is still enough, but options to add-on as my business grows. Looking at upgrading soon to enable additional features. I have a recruitment business and its been helpful to monitor my sales activities. Quick response for customer services when I enquired about the products.

Cons: Would have liked to have been able to mass email on the free software, but I can appreciate this function is more complex.

Overall: Able to easily monitor sales activity, record necessary information and it functions better than many other databases I have used, which charge alot more!

Comments: I think there should be a 'Simple' version for basic CRM users and beginners - and then a 'pro' version with all the added features. Both can be accessed with the same payed options, but two options to switch between. I feel all of the small text, multiple options, customisation may be overwhelming for first time users.

Pros: Multiple features and options for the team. Great customer support and it definitely packs the tolls needed once you finally get your head round the UI.

Cons: Way to many visual options, small text, click boxes and general clutter. Needs a much simpler UI for new users, similar to Hobspots free CRM etc.

Comments: We have an electrical contracting business and keeping up with all our contracts was increasingly difficult. Without a CRM to keep up we could not possibly offer a great customer service or grow any further. The prices of CRM's available are ridiculous, except for Really Simple Systems Web CRM. It offers all the functionality of a more expensive CRM at a very reasonable price. I had a couple of issues when I started and all it took was a phone call to get it fixed. I even got to speak with someone from Australia. The reports are easy to manipulate and the tasks function helps to stay organised. Any data base system is only as good as the information you enter so you need to be prepared to spend the time to ensure that the information is accurate but they do have a free version that works just as well so I would be trying that one first. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Comments: Versatile product that can be customised, which we have done to some degree but will need to do even further. Very good customer service in this regard.
Does what it says on the tin, providing with a basic CRM system.
We would generally need more training to fully be able to utilise the features offered, ideally as stored training sessions/manuals we can refer back to. So far the webinars have been good, but not comprehensive and also not addressing issues we may have at a later date.
For a company like ours, selling a professional service, where every product the client buys is tailored and much of our sales is ongoing collaboration, (rather than one-off sales) we have also found that the Opportunities page doesn't reflect this way of selling - it would also be useful to be able to log future sales per month or per year.

Pros: Set up and tailoring to our needs was extremely simple. It has been easy to add, delete, amend fields. We have been able to use the software in a slightly different way, but which suits our needs.

Cons: Would be great to be able to move the placement of fields on the form for a better flow of data / easier user experience.

Overall: This has transformed our department's day to day work flow. Everything is now on the database and easily to hand.

Pros: It really is as easy to use as the name suggests. Works well for the small sales team we have. And I like the way you can start on a very low subscription rate

Cons: It's annoying whem the system times out without warning and you can lose your work. The interface feels a little "old" but really that's just nit picking.

Overall: Far better control of our sales pipeline, which became essential when we recruited our first sales person

Pros: Simple to use, customisable, reliable and great that it can be run on a phone, tablet or pc, most useful out on the road

Cons: I don't use the sales or opportunities sections, but other than that, it is perfect for what I need

Overall: I am a consultant with about 80 clients, I use this to manage updates on each account, tasks, activities etc, so although I don't use the complete package, I can see how useful it would be as a sales package

Comments: I really like the CRM system as it has proved invaluable if a little complicated on the reporting side. I do have a gripe regarding the newsletter marketing tool as it is very much behind the times and the best one looks like a newsletter I used 5 years ago.

Please make it so that it has less problems with text not working correctly, image sizing issues and layout/template looking too old. We used Mailchimp previously which looked so much better and provided much better functionality. I know it doesn't provide a full data CRM package but having one great package with one substandard package is letting you down!

Pros: I like the fact that it's free up to a limited number rather than time. As a new start business the system has helped me keep track of my prospects and successfully turning them into customers by the time I reach 100 customers I will be able to justify the subscription.

Cons: I haven't found any negatives as yet but I am only a small business and not really using to the max.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it. It will only take five minutes to set up and you could be richer for it!

RSS CRM gets straight to the point, it's very efficient and user friendly.

Cons: The overall design looks a little old and outdated...however I have seen the demo of the new version and it looks very good indeed.

Overall: We needed an easy to use CRM system which got straight to the point without having - and paying for - all the unnecessary (for us) features and functions. The ability to customise the layout and headings etc. made it feel more like a custom-made solution.

Pros: The bulk upload of contacts is very quick and simple.

Cons: They do not always have someone to respond straight away. They do come back very quickly but sometimes you would like to sort immediately and on the phone. I dont like having to put my company name in the very first screen when I have a log on already.

Recommendations to other buyers: The screens are easy to view. The settings are all very straightforward. The system integration to accounting software is easy, simple and invaluable.

Seemed good initially but had issues once we started to put it through its paces.

Comments: We had to get IT techs involved to resolve issues and once we did they were concerned about the coding in the background and how that might affect success rate of email campaigns. All above my head I'm afraid but it wasn't 'really simple' after all!

Comments: We have been using Really Simple Systems CRM for just under two years. Prior to that we had a bespoke online database. Although it took a little while to get used to free support (!) and to readjust the way we work with our new crm, we now really love it! The best thing is that after having to pay for every amendment, upgrades to the system are included in the price. I find the support team helpful and responsive and I would recommend them. We enjoy having an eshot system integrated into the database and although that was one of the advantages which has taken us longer to intergrate, we are now enjoying all its new features and hope to be using this from now on. It is a great system which is simple to use and yet ticks all the boxes.

I found the CRM easy and intuitive to use.

Pros: A very easy to use CRM with all the basics at your finger tips.

Cons: The vendor is easy to speak to and responsive to any issue raised. The product is practical but not pretty. It desperately needs to have a designer take a fresh broom to the way it looks on screen.

Recommendations to other buyers: The free version allows start ups the capacity to develop and structure their marketing systems while having the ability to expand into a fee paying system that will grow with the business.

Comments: I have used CRM's since the beginning in the early 1980's and I have used most, but RSS provide most of what is needed for single users or multiple users.

Pros: Clear easy to use formats and excellent dashboard reports. Many CRM's have complex multiple entry needs whereas RSS is straightforward and swift. If you have a problem then the customer support is helpful rather than patronising.

Cons: I have not found anything to worry about.

Comments: As a not-for-profit community project, we are always looking for sponsors and supporters. Really Simple Systems when approached did not hesitate to support us. Their CRM product does exactly what we want. CRM has been really easy to implement, everyone in our small project uses it. Not only is it simple to use, but importing data is a doddle. They have thought very carefully about how to assist users of CRM make best use of their system. Our latest request for support was again responded to without hesitation, and now our blind founder of the project can input data into the CRM system. I highly recommend Really Simple Systems as both a provider of an excellent product and responsive after-sales support service.

Comments: Really simple systems offers a easy to use basic CRM which was a good solution for us as we moved away from multiple spreadsheet management to a single point of customer data. We were able to quickly implement the system it provides a simple single point to upload and update customer account data. RSS is constantly striving to improve and are quick to look into any enquiries or requests we have made and have implemented several of our suggestions to improve the system.

The customer support team have always been friendly and helpful and always provided a solution to our queries.

Overall I think the system is a good value for money, easy to use and well supported by customer service team.

Pros: Simple to customise very quick when accessing records good backup from support team intuitive and slick

Cons: a little clunky on mobile device screens and ipads, some boxes are cramped or missed off no postcode search functionality(fixed by a work around) once a task is completed it doesn't notify the task originator..

Comments: The long and short of it, we have been using Really Simple Systems CRM for over 6 years. It's combined CRM, support case handling and built in marketing functionality provides our business at Aqilla with a simple, straightforward capability in managing our engagement with suspects, prospects and customers alike. The latest enhacements to the Marketing module in particular mean we no longer have to use 3rd party outbound mail systems. Highly recommended.

Pros: Integrated CRM, support case management and Marketing platform. Cloud based (obviously). Reliable. Adaptable

Cons: Some more effective use of screen real estate would be nice.

I have found the system useful to track sales opportunities, and each dealing with each account

Pros: I like that I can keep all my account information in one safe place and I like the webinars, and support offered.

Cons: Reports! I find them to be a bit tedious to set up. I have been trying to see my sales in 2018 and have found it difficult

Overall: All info for accounts kept in one safe place and tracking opportunities
