Pros
We're running and Autometrix table, and Patternsmith is the best tool that integrates seamlessly. When it works, it's very efficient.
The software was very easy to use and the technical support was amazing as well.
We enjoyed being part of the bug reporting users back when it was released, and was impressed with the speed of bug fixing.
The best features I use are the different offsets and enjoy the ease of having keyboard shortcuts for just about everything I use the program for really increases my productivity.
Cons
We do most of our panel manipulation usinging Auto-Cad and MPanel so some of Patternsmith's way of selecting and right clicking is a bit awkward for us.
When we first got the Software we had a long lost Patternsmith 2005 book that came with it.
My previous work place had one of the competitions and watching them struggle with learning program was horrifying. They had someone out for two weeks or more and we only had someone out 1day.
Several times I'll get an awkward crash when trying to work too quickly. Either I'm pressing keys and clicking or something gives an error and the program crashes out.
"Textile print designing tool"
Pros: It works well on 2D designs and is user friendly. I've enjoyed using it so far. It gives great detailing on patterns.
Cons: The only con I've found is that is crashes alot.
Vendor Response
"Happy with the overall experience but would love more features, shortcuts, & customization."
Overall: The company I am currently with has been using this software for quite a while and I understand that it is a very important piece to our business. I am happy to see a new update is coming out and would love to see the what's new.
Pros: I enjoy the short learning curve and ease of use the most.I have taught others on how to use it and they quickly picked it up. The manual is also very informative, and the tool tips are a good touch.
Cons: I would like it more if there were more ways to customize and set automatized features. It would also be great if the user can upload a photo and has it be seen through the "pattern window".

"Frustrating. Clunky."
Cons: 1. needs to handle more curve types 2. needs better tools for thinning points on lines 3. needs better control over curve directions 4. needs better selection tools, or at least crossing vs enclosed box (like acad, or rhino) 5. needs higher resolution/ deeper zoom 6. needs better tools for defining pattern orientation for cloth grain. 7. needs better tools for labelling/numbering patterns 8. some auto-nesting would be good. 9. need control over how many points are included in lines when importing dxf files at various scales. 10. needs easier join command 11. the list could go on and on.... and on. sorry.

"Patternsmith"
Overall: It has, and continues to be functional enough to produce our designs, but basic enough to use easily.
Pros: It's basic functionality, ease of use, the fact we are not forced to pay for un-necessary upgrades when the software does everything we need it to. We enjoyed being part of the bug reporting users back when it was released, and was impressed with the speed of bug fixing. As sail and cover makers, the basic 2D design capabilities have served our needs for nearly 20 years, and continue to do so.
Cons: The fact that every time we bought a new computer, we had to ask for a .tlf code. (Not a big hassle really, but thought I should write something!)
"good experience no major set backs with the software."
Pros: clean look not to much "useless" menus. the new ad-ons and tweaks help out making this software more user friendly.
Cons: the thing i like the least is that if i make some patterns and copy them in another file and want to edit i have to edit everywhere the copy is.. i am used to software that is parametric and i think that this would be a great feature to add to your software.
