Pros Stamps.com saves you the most important factor in your everydays - your TIME. A few clicks can eliminate your need to drive to and from the post office. I believe utilizing this application added great value to the success of ours. It has helped to improve our Firm's efficiency in shipping while we are saving money. We have considered other services and this platform is above all others. Cons It can be clunky when creating a new label and there are saved addresses that are similar but different. Since we ship a lot to the IRS and Government Agencies, sometimes it it the same PO Box but just a slightly different zip code. It was and is vital to my small business and helped me fulfill many orders. Pros I like that the software is straightforward. I was able to get customer service when I needed it. I like that the software easily connects to 3rd party applications. Cons I found it hard to make changes or cancel my account. I wanted to try other options and had to call customer service to make those types of changes and it wasn't really easy to do so. I also think it is expensive as a baseline software because to effectively use it, you have to basically use a 3rd party application, and that other app also charges fees too. Would not recommend. Pros I didn’t like very much. The interface was difficult to maneuver and the individual stamp sheets were extremely bulky. Cons The interface, the mailing sheets, most importantly the price. It was very, very expensive to use and though they promoted that you would save money we would have actually been over budget. We ship out a decent amount of merch, so it was nice to avoid post office trips and potential Covid exposure. Pros It's nice to be able to do all the labeling work at home, without having to worry about being inside a dingy post office with no air circulation and grumpy employees. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple to use. Cons The Ux is very confusing, and the cost for labels is kind of outrageous. The fact that you have to pay a monthly fee is also not ideal. Many hours on the phone with tech support and they cannot change me back to an administrator nor explain whey I got switched to a user. Pros The option to compare shipping prices between UPS and USPS. Cons Last October 2024, Stamps.com had a major revision to their website. As a result of updates, my account change my status from administrator to user - automatically with no reason and without my consent. As a user, I cannot add funds, add users nor make any changes to the account. In fact, nobody in my company can make changes. I have spent at least 8 hours on the phone over the past six months trying to sort out the problem. The bottom line is that my account has a bug and they cannot fix it. It’s a poor platform and design. The 1800- number for help is an overseas call center and nobody has the tech expertise to fix anything; they have to call someone else so you are waiting for them to ask someone else for answers. They have a poor design and cannot even fix their own technical problems nor answer questions. I am closing my account today after giving them plenty of time to fix the problem. Would also have been nice to be able to link to McKesson Enterprise pharmacy system so we don't have to change the address in both systems. Also wished that it integrated FedEx as well. Cons I'm not a fan of the new layout, look and feel. I much prefer the previous layout, but I've been adjusting. You can print postage directly onto documents/boxes/packages which is awesome and their prices are very good! Pros Stamps.com offers GREAT pricing. We use them frequently for business and we have had no issues with them. We got a large quantity of stamps at a really valuable price and were very excited about that. Cons So far, there are no cons with Stamps.com and we have had no issues previously! I think they sometimes can be overpriced with certain things but that's not always a huge deal. When it does, it has all out of shipping speeds set and can automatically configure the services to use, which saves us time. It’s also quick and easy to get a cost estimate for a shipping label using the package tab, as long as you have an address in the general area of the delivery to use. Cons It’s clunky. Keyboard shortcuts are mostly non-existent, and some things take more mouse clicks than they need to. It also needs to alert us to the cause of problems, which it currently doesn’t do, but instead just displays a generic warning symbol when an address or shipping service is invalid, without pointing out where the problem is located. We also routinely find orders that do not import for no known reason, mostly from Amazon, and have to add them manually. Review Source CS Cerenity S. Owner Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Best shipping software for small business shipping" August 1, 2019 5.0 Using this software was very beneficial to my business in that I did not have to go to the post office, wait in line with 30 packages, buy postage for each one, get all the delivery confirmation receipts and come back to the office and send that information to each customer. Probably saved me at least 1 and 1/2 hours per day. I have never had a problem with the software, if you do any amount of mailing or shipping, you need this software. Pros I am an Amazon marketplace seller who uses this software everyday for shipping, books, small retail items, using the US Postal Service as my primary shipper. This software has all of the postal service options and pricing. It has an address check feature and several printing options. Its super easy to use. Very easy to add funds, and many options for that. I tried the competition, this has it all over that, and the monthly fee is reasonable, and also flexible depending on what options you want. I used the scale that they provide for a one time purchase, which works perfectly with the software. Incredible flexibility. You can ship locally, by zone, flat rate, or international, the software even lets you do the international paperwork electronically. Its mostly set up to do postage and shipping through the US Postal Service but they also offer Fedex which is sometimes a better option. Cons I have used this software for over 10 years and I cannot think of one thing that I would call a con. Reason for choosing Stamps.com At the time I made my decision Stamps.com offered so many more options than Indicia, it was an easy choice. We finally started using a separate scale to weigh packages. The site continually went down, timed out and there was no after-hours or weekend support - we run an onsite store and our clients make purchases 24/7and I was unable to print postage and provide tracking numbers frequently, especially over the weekend and during peak holidays. Pros Easy to activate Able to import addresses from online store Cons After the initial data load from our online store I started to encounter intermittent problems, packages not making it to delivery destination, packages 'disappearing' with last destination showing as xx hub etc. The stamps.com site went down frequently with no work around for printing postage. There was no autofill address feature built in, and no autosave names to directory, no audit for duplicate names stored in stamps.com so I wound up with duplicate records for multiple contacts. Cons Everytime we change a credit card to use on our account for shipping purposes, we have to call customer service otherwise it does not work. Pros Stamps.com is easy to use overall, and for eBay where we have shipping services preselected it’s even easier once we set up rules to match those. It prints both our packing slips and labels, albeit in two steps since we use two different printers, and it does a good job with both. Cons It’s a little annoying to figure out what’s going on when it does have an error though, as it doesn’t tell you what the problem is (usually it’s a line in the address that’s too long, or an unsupported character). Pros It is a simple and comprehensive solution for shipping. It's easy to customize shipping labels for your business. Grabbing a refund is simple to do, although it takes a while. Cons The USPS pick-up feature seems easy but has never resulted in an actual pick up. Likely not STAMPS fault. Printing from other computers is a pain. I wish we could customize the shipped email depending on the sender's address. As I ship as multiple businesses, the messaging should change. If they offered a less expensive plan that included the things we needed and fixed some of the issues listed above, we might give them another shot. As is though, we would never go back, even if our company were bigger. Pros We mainly used this to send certified mail, and it made the process less daunting. I liked having the ability to print postage at home and have all our tracking numbers in one spot. Cons There were a plethora of issues with stamps.com that we kept running into the longer we used them.
