Pros: Easy to navigate and use. Easy to teach new employees how to book appointments - keeps inventory accurate, and payroll is easy access.

Cons: The worst part about Booker is usually you get an experienced person to help although when you really need it you have someone helping doing what you can do , read off their online support. So frustrating!

The worst part about this software is that person- such as STAFF should not be able to look at persons full history or personal information . The quick check in box at the top of appointments that is available to everyone allows all access. Just simply type in a name and here you have it . History, address, pros and cons about client likes and dislikes for everyone to see. NO privacy with this app . Therapist can look up past appointments - and its not their clients . There is no privacy with Booker -anyone can see everything no matter what settings you restrict. Cant wait to change this system to something more owner/ (HIPPA complaint- would be nice) friendly, so employees do not have access to private information. Anyone looking to prevent client information access , watch out for this app. Also continues to use other cc on various accounts, blaming it on whatever internet service you use, funny everyone says the same we all use something different- how can it be us- the business. We continuously have to call customers and apologize . Read other reviews same complaints.

Overall: Very Unhappy -Open access for everyone to see all history, private information on a client. If they see a screen with appointments they can see anything for the client with a few clicks.

Other than no privacy Booker works pretty well considering. Im over the customer service answer is - if its a staff they cant see anything- really hire people that know your system and figure out how to add privacy.

Booker initially worked okay, but we are seeing progressively worsened issues with Version 2.

Pros: I do think the UI on the backend is easy and simple to use. I also like the ability to manage payroll, inventory, store CC securely to appointments/client profiles.

Cons: I am in the process of franchising my concept, Mylkbar, and am absolutely livid with the level of customer support and consistent lack of transparency. Coming from an enterprise software sales background, the companies I have worked for always were transparent with product roadmaps, glitches/bugs, and capabilities. Initially, Booker worked okay and we could live with the occasional kinks and glitches. Now, the issues are so bad that I spend 50% of my time dealing with Booker and am vetting other software that I may need to select to replace Booker. The primary concerns are as follows: 1) Poor integration with Clover. Do NOT GO ON BOOKER VERSION 2. It is not fully developed and has too many kinks. If you look at all of their enterprise, multi-location accounts (Drybar, Olive and June, Ten Over Ten, Blushington, etc) they are all on Version 1. Version 2 is riddled with glitches. We constantly have to hit the refresh button and clear the cache to ensure things run smoothly. That is NOT how cloud software is supposed to work. 2) Constant payment glitches. In the past month, we have over 10 instances with payment glitches. We have to then close out the transaction on the Clover and reconcile our books within Booker. This takes up an inordinate amount of time, frustrates my employees, and also costs me time and money if I have to get my bookkeeper involved. 3) Terrible UI for clients booking online. Clients can't select multiple services. They have to add a service to their cart, then go back to main page to select second service. This is also a MAJOR issue with group bookings, which account for a big chunk of our business. The group booking functionality in Version 2 is NONEXISTENT, therefore are phone rings ALL day with people asking how to book more than one person. 4) Version 2 is not supported in the Apple App Store. How did this even happen?! You introduce an app, which should be well vetted and readily available on your "newer" Version and then the app store declines it? Unreal. On top of this, Booker had a lot of Version 2 customers who had paid to develop/access the client facing app (like me) and just waited months with no response. 5) Terrible customer support. Booker's main clientele is the salon industry, yet customer support is not available on weekends?! What a joke. I was told support was available daily when I signed up. Expect 20 minute hold times for chat support. Then, Booker will create an incident ticket and act like you are the only client experiencing that issue and then never follow up. I have unresolved tickets still open from last July, 2017. 6) Total lack of transparency. I may decide to stick with Booker and pay for access to their APIor revert to Version 1 (which is so beyond ridiculous considering Version 2 *should* be better)... I have asked for details on the API and functionality, yet I have to upgrade my account FIRST and sign another contract?! At least the contracts are a 30 day back out... At least I am assuming that is the case. In short, I would not recommend Booker to anyone UNLESS they miraculously address these issues in the short term. My guess is that Booker is understaffed and underfunded. I think Booker bit off more than they could chew with Version 2. Just go and talk to any business using Booker (even those enterprise accounts) and they will happily share their experiences with you. Oh, and I have complained about all of the above to a Director of Product Development and their Director of Customer Support. After I got extremely angry and basically demanded a dedicated support rep, my voice is finally being *somewhat* heard, but I am still not satisfied. We just experienced another major payment glitch today. I am making my review public, so feel free to reach out to me via LinkedIn if you have questions.

Pros: I love that they have created many updates for this software over the last few months. It has been really nice not experiencing any lag or issues with the booking features like we were having just a few months ago. I love that you can choose how far in advance the confirmation emails are sent out and I really love that the clients can confirm the appointment through the email. Another AMAZING tool is that you can now see when a client is booking an appointment online that way you are not trying to compete with anyone online trying to book. I hated in the past where I would be booking a client at the desk and right when I went to book, it said that I was not able to. Come to find out when I refreshed the page it was because someone else had booked it online. It truly makes a huge difference with these little improvements that they made.

Cons: One thing at the moment that I am not liking about the software is that sometimes the confirmation emails do not send even when the emails box is checked, this also happens when I book re-occurring appointments for an entire year where these clients of all clients should receive all the emails. Another thing that gets frustrating from time to time is that the clients future appointments is not showing up on their account under the appropriate tab therefore some clients have not showed up for their appointment and we can't charge if they can prove they didn't see it online. I try to see if they have duplicate accounts as well but they do not. And lastly, every now and again Booker will give us booking issues while trying to book for any of our services, it will state that the appointment cannot book because no equipment is available however, I know that is not the case. That is frustrating because we have to then just create a block out on the schedule with the client's service along with their information but they don't receive any emails through the system when it is booked that way.

Overall: Overall, it is a great booking website and it is a very easy system to learn. We recently added a brand login through this company as we are adding additional sites and it has been a very easy process.

Horrendous. Terrible Experience. Bad Platform. Bad Support.

Pros: I liked the notion of what they "sell" to you. not what they actually deliver. I guess I like that it's a cloud based system, which you can't say for Millennium.

Cons: Booker is going more towards a multi-industry platform & removed many of its spa related functionality. No longer can you create spa packages, for example.

Much of the customization they sell you on doesn't exist at all. It used to on their old platform, but new customers don't get to use that anymore, so your gift card site & the online booking site will look like a Kindergartner designed it in an extracurricular activity.

You don't have the ability to customize categories for your services/products. For example, if you do hydrotherapy, there isn't a category for things like vichy showers. You do have auto repair available though... so congrats.

If you're looking to have a smooth experience with onboarding, you'll be disappointed. The data "expert" we worked with missed his deadline by 4 weeks and then just disappeared. We had to start completely over and then the new "expert" imported the wrong data and we had to start over again. We worked with onboarding for almost 5 months and never got live.

There's no ecommerce capabilities, even though their web site promotes it and their sales people promote it. At this point, it's a flat out lie. Doesn't exist.

You have to work with a 3rd party for your POS system (Clover). We signed up for a special and were supposed to get 2 set ups for free, but they came back to us after we signed up and said "nope, sorry, we were wrong, you can only have one." And, then they sent us 2, except one was incompatible with Booker.

Overall: zero. only pain and anguish and wasted money. I can't even get the reps to respond to my emails about a refund. I would strongly recommend against using Booker.

Comments: Booker is a robust solution for online scheduling and taking payments too. In theory, Booker will save you loads of time since customers schedule and manage their own appointments. In reality, we spend too much time on the phone with Booker trying to work out quirks.

Pros: Admin backend is solid and reliable. Lots of options to customize. Too many at times since finding just the right setting can take 15-20 minutes or require a phone call to customer service.

Cons: Customer front end is weak and confusing. Booker does not allow certain booking options (CF2) to be used in iFrames. This forces you to send customers to a 3rd party website (not yours) to make appointments. Fixes and feature requests come slowly if at all. If you are interested in using Booker be sure you know what you are getting into before you commit. It is very difficult to get 100, 500, or thousands of customers to move to a new appointment system if you later decide Booker is not what you expected. Get used to what Booker looks like now and be okay with that for the long haul. Don't plan on being able to add a feature of even getting Booker to fix bugs. Booker will show you a long list of "fixes" and revision numbers of updated software. I have never known any of these updates to address a bug of concern we had with the SaaS. Customer requests are ignored and bugs are described as features. Yes, they really are! For example, in some places staff names are sorted by first name and in other places they are sorted by last name. This does make it feel like you are using different software products and will infuriate you at times. Different interfaces all work differently. In other words, they all feel like different products. We use the admin interface, the Booker iOS app, the Booker customer app, CF1, and Facebook app. That seems like lots of great options until you realize how disjointed and different they all are. You are not merely learning one software package, you really have to learn them all.

Booker has been a life changer for me and my Therapeutic Massage Practice.

Pros: I love the way Booker works directly with my web page. My clients and potential clients can book right from my web site, purchase gift certificates from the comfort of their homes or offices, and print them or email them right from their computer without having to come to my office. I am often in service with a client and don't have a lot of time to answer or return calls during my work day let alone meet people to hand deliver gift certificates. I don't have a receptionist or assistant to assist in these matters. I love the fact that I have my very own App to give to my clients so they can save ME to their phones and book on line any time of the day or night, without having to try to find me first. I'm just a click away. The best part is that after you set up your booker to work with your website, it just makes scheduling my clients appts soooo much easier. They get an email notification with Appt details and directions. Then an appt reminder 24 hrs before their Appt so they can click the confirm button, so I don't have to make confirmation calls the day before, then a text reminder notification 3 hours before their Appt which cuts down on no shows, and late cancellations. I love it!!

Cons: I have 2 locations and Booker does not have a place to differentiate either location. So when my clients book on line, there is no way of telling them which days I am at one location and which days I am at the other. So when they are looking at my open appts, they don't know which location they are booking for. This kind of takes my 5 star Status and brings it down to a 3 because this causes my clients much confusion when trying to book, and me soooo much stress, because what good is it if I always have to call them anyway when they are trying to schedule on line?? This defeats the whole purpose of online scheduling. This needs to be fixed and upgraded. Another thing. The mobile app is limited to its back of the house functionality. It's very easy to schedule appts, but looking up Gift Certificate numbers and entering them for payment after a client redeems them is time consuming and not user friendly. I also wish I had Email/ text Marketing built in so I could send my clients daily, weekly and monthly specials. There are days that I would love to send out a quick text telling my clients what time slots I have available. This would be soooooo easy since all of their contact info is already in the system. I would also like to see yearly reports and just imagine how great it would be if the accounting software was built right in! All in one place! Now that would make Booker the leader in the industry!

Overall: The ease and functionality for my clients to have my app on their phone for scheduling wherever they are, no matter what time of day or night it is. It's also a reminder for them to schedule when they see my app At a glance! The reminder notifications allows me to focus on servicing my clients instead of scheduling appts, and making confirmations calls every day.

Comments: I have had Booker since May, 2015. At first, minor glitches were sparse. An interruption in our day, but we were able to keep going. Recently, the interruptions have been more of an occurrence and lasting longer. I run a company and this is absolutely absurd. I can not do business if my main computer booking program is down. We constantly have pop ups on "We are working on it", "We are currently seeing slowness". On two separate occasions, their entire website was DOWN. Like, they forgot to pay and it was taken down. Ummmm... that is your business. How can that happen? And being a faithful client for two years, you think that you would give us a heads up if you are taking it down DURING PEEK HOURS. Today, on a Saturday of all days (Saturdays are BUSY for salons) we have the good ol' standby of "An Internal Server Error Has Occurred". This has lasted about two hours now. So, I can not ring people out, I can't check them in, I can't see our schedules.... I CAN'T RUN MY BUSINESS. Anytime you call customer service, it'll ring twice and go to a busy tone, OR they prompt you to leave a message after one minute for NO ONE to call you back. THEY ARE NEVER AVAILABLE. Customer service???? Give me a BREAK! They have the worst customer service ever. Oh, and my sales rep, the nicest guy ever. Who told me I could call him anytime... well.... he won't return my calls, or my emails. OR ANYTHING. I'll get a generic email from The CEO of the company that all of their clients have been BCC'd on about their recent issues and what they are doing to fix it. Meanwhile putting the blame on anyone or anything else other than themselves. I'm so beyond frustrated with this company, their lack of accountability, their "customer service", their whole being. They have lost me SO MUCH MONEY. The great customer service I am able to give my clients, leaves me looking stupid when I don't know they have an appointment, or when I'm struggling to ring them out on a 1980s credit card machine. We look pathetic. People don't want to come back to us and also, I'm left giving free services or discounts for the inconvenience to try and keep my clients happy. I will be taking my business elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, Booker owes me $ for the past 5 months of terrible service (we will give them a break on the other 19 months). They also owe me probably $ in LOST WAGES.

Pros: Right now, nothing. I'm so beyond frustrated. NOBODY IS N EVER AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Cons: IT NEVER WORKS AT ALL!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NEVER THERE TO HELP! DO NOT USE!!

Too many restrictions on in house system administrators.

System performance is not good at all.

Overall: So after 4 years of being loyal Booker customers/users and thousands of dollars paid for their lackluster service, we have decided to jump ship and started looking for a more reliable & less restrictive online booking software.

We have had our complaints about Booker since day one because of how it is very restrictive on what our spa system administrators are allowed to do. We have always gotten the usual "oh you can not do that because we want to advice our clients on best business practices." Then we will counter by asking the Booker rep if they realized that the actual management team on site at the spa would know what's best for our day to day operations? Which we they always point us to their make recommendations page or they would claim to submit it to their development team, which neither ever received any follow up. So after many attempts to get them to make their system more intuituve and flexible for our day to day operations, we quite frankly gave up and just dealt with the system. And now we have their system performance take a rapid decline, which started well over a year ago. We even purchased new computer systems and increase our internet speeds in hopes of speeding up the system but nope, that didn't help what so ever. Their customer service has also gone to poop, the reps use to be somewhat knowledgeable on how to use Booker and nice. Now they don't seem to care about your issues and pretty much do not accept any responsibility or accountability on behalf of Booker on how the system performance has gone to poop, right along their customer service. Just last night when I inform a rep that we our fed up with the system performance and the numerous temporary "work arounds", that we have no choice but to start looking for another service. They replied with "sorry to hear that, let us know what we can do to help with the transition." Really!?! That was the cherry on top.

Booker has failed to realize that we are their loyal paying customers and their poor performance is being transferred on to our loyal paying customers which we will not accept because we do value our loyal customers. So some words of advice to Booker on best business practices, don't screw your customers.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use a paper appointment log instead of Booker, the log will take more accountability & responsibility than Booker has.

Comments: This company is a joke. They may have tried to put together a Salon software, which has some good qualities and bad, but, the company has ruined their name and a host of other businesses because of their lack of understanding how their software has a direct effect and how they manage their software on a day to day basis. They are completely horrific! We continually try to deal with the issues, (Booker being slow, or totally down on a regular basis), and we have heard every unimaginable excuse, but the only people that are having a very costly, negative impact, are the businesses that purchased this worthless product. We came to Booker primarily through the recommendation of Spa Magazine. They touted Booker as being the Best Software Company in the market and they still continue to do so. We took their recommendation strongly and pursued Booker. We were courted with full Attention and Promises when we first met. We were promised complete support and excellent service, which was also written by American Spa. We signed on with Booker and slowly problems continued to arise. We worked through them but as time progressed, it became a regular ongoing occurrence. We were told that Booker was growing too fast and that the problems would be resolved; this couldn't be further from the truth. Things progressively got worse! We have issues getting through to Booker and the slowness and down times are becoming commonplace. Our business has suffered and lost customer satisfaction and comfort in quick appointments. Our good will has been damaged and through all of this, we have tried to be tolerant and understanding. Last week the experience in our company, using Booker software, became intolerable. The software was barely running or slow, and on our busiest day, it completely shut down. We were so dependent on Booker that we had to turn away our business. We cannot continue to do business this way! We would love to know if other companies are dealing with this issue and what they are doing to keep their business from this harm. While we wait on hold and continue trying to get through to the owner of Booker, we are searching for a software that can service our needs with minimal issues. Please let us know

Pros: Integration of scheduling, merchant services, marketing, reporting. Everything I need in one place to run the business. I don't have to import or export information to run reports or go through multiple programs to send out reminder texts, ring up a client to check out, and check hours worked by employees.

Cons: There are a few things that the system just doesn't do intelligently where I have to override certain scheduling rules (Example: if an appointment was scheduled in room 2 with one girl, and i want to change it to another girl, it will not automatically switch it to room one. It will just say it isn't available.) So I have to go through round-about ways to override it to get it done, but those are just nit-picking.

Overall: I love using Booker because it truly does everything I need it to. Not only is all your customer tracking in one place, I can easily override a schedule, track inventory, check my estheticians clock-in and out times, but all the merchant services and marketing with Frederick is also build in to make it a complete system. If I ever have a question, there are so many way to easily get it answered. Usually if I'm wondering, someone else has been too- so I can find it in the community boards, but if its truly technical, the chat is a quick and convenient way that I can still answer the phone as it rings, because the help line isn't tying up the phones or my hands. Frederick tracks emails, so if a client says they never got a reminder, I can double check that the system did indeed send one and with texts working better, more clients are loving the frequent reminders. Having the app option allows me to track the schedule from home also. Truly, I've looked at other software programs, but they just can't stand up to what Booker is able to do. Booker is just faster, easier, sleeker, and more intelligent.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use Frederick. Since implementing it, we have had SO many clients tell us they LOVE the text reminders because these days we all get 8 million emails and they just get buried. Texts catch our attention and because its automated, you don't waste man hours sending them out.

Pros: Ease of use can be accessed remotely by all therapists, no additional cost per therapist for use, HireFrederick program

Cons: Online booking inconsistency with picking a therapist and it not being a request vs no preference and still having to choose a therapist. Glitchiness! Slowness! Taking payment in advance opens time slot for others to book in. Feeling stuck with their credit card processing or high fees to use another one with better rates

Overall: I like using Booker for its ease of use. It can get confusing since there are multiple ways to do the same task, though. However, with different learning styles, it is a pretty easy system to teach to people. It is very beneficial as well to allow all therapists to be able to check schedules from home. Our clients like the email and text appointment reminders. We also like the hire Frederick program. It is an easy way to market and bring back old customers or get new ones to rebook. The email they receive after their services is also beneficial for us to understand customer satisfaction and we can immediately respond to negative feedback, grow, learn and maintain customer relations. Their customer service is very good. They are always very prompt with responding to an issue.

My problems with Booker are they have a tendency to glitch often or significantly slow down the system so we have had to resort to either trying a mobile device or handwriting credit slips on occasion. We have also had issues with the online booking and how one picks a therapist which makes things confusing and doesn't always work in our favor so a lot of client education comes into play. By this, I mean that even if a client picks no therapist preference at the beginning they still must choose at the end. Or sometimes they pick a therapist and it doesn't show as a request. I am currently finding out that the credit card processing linked to their service does not have the best rates but it would be more expensive to use another processing system and have to pay Booker's fees. Finally, we have learned the hard way that if a client pays in advance and you do not block out the time slot then another client can book in that same slot.

Recommendations to other buyers: Like all, it has its pros & cons. There are definitely better ones and worse ones out there.

Pros: The "all in one nature" of the platform but also the ability to have an online store that links to our actual inventory and pricing levels in real time. The confirmation email for appointments are a great asset to in terms of revenue loss prevention and saves time for our staff, not to mention our clients love the convenience. The pre-authorization of credit cards is a great function again for loss prevention.

Cons: 1, There have been times recently were the downtime or stability (slowness) of the platform has not been acceptable.

2, The ip lock function only works with v4 ip addresses (most ISP's are now using v6's rendering the function useless unless you pay extra for static IP's.

Overall: I want to sincerely thank Booker for the excellent service provided by Gregory O, during several recent requests we made; He has gone above and beyond, even supplying me with a level of data and assistance I was previously told would not be possible to get. He did it in an extremely expeditious and efficient manner and again affirms our confidence that Booker is the leading platform in our industry. Thanks again for providing such a great business tool and we look forward to using booker for many years to come.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would be nice to have the following: 1, A way to submit tickets for ideas/functions on future updates (like we used to have) 2, There is not a report which shows you BOTH the clocked hours worked for each day of employees WITH total hours for the given period. 3, It would be extremely useful to have an option to set an overtime warning - i.e. when you look at the timeclock report, anything over 8 hours per day would be in RED or BOLD. 4, An automated email with a function to set an alert when someone approaches a certain amount of hours (i.e. email sent when any employees hit 7.5 hours for the day so you can properly assess overtime needs and plan accordingly). 5, Finally (and this is the most urgently needed one) the ability to send an email at will to confirm an appointment. This would be best integrated on the right click menu on the appointment calendar (like "Send confirmation email"). At the moment, you can only send confirmation emails a set number of hours before but it would be so helpful to be able to send them at will (as sometimes appointments are made within the confirmation email time window so doesn't automatically get sent, or to send a reminder confirmation for those that missed it first time round etc). 6, Allow shipping rates to vary based on order value tiers ($) NOT how many items are ordered (so we can have free shipping on orders over $100 etc) Please feel free to contact me if you need further explanation on any of these.

Pros: Ability to create series

Cons: The company is not upfront or honest. The software is antiquated. It is way overpriced for what you get. Ease of use is not there - it takes multiple steps to complete simple basic tasks. Customer service is not only lacking, they are often rude and incorporate good cop/bad cop techniques to blur the fact that they do not intend to fix your problems at all.

Overall: Booker has features that real you in but the functionality is antiquated, the "exceptional" customer service is non-existant once you have signed a contract and the features promised in the demo are not all delivered. I consistently get the answer that they are sorry but that feature is not part of the package you purchased - even though my sales rep assured me that it was when I asked him about it many times. There has never been an attempt to make it right or even console me for my trouble. The conversion cost me hundreds of dollars in changes needed to my website and credit card purchasing - many of which turned out to be inaccurate information provided by Booker that still did not fix my problems.

Moreover, the software has so many layers and steps to basic operations - it is a way to labor intensive to use. As a small business, your resources can not be tied up in having to change your schedule in three different places just to schedule a client after hours or to have to manually look up each gift certificate number - it doesn't stick with the client when purchased. Come on Booker - these features have been available for years!

Booker was a really bad decision on my part and I am looking for something else to replace it with that won't cost me as much to convert. They really did me wrong- whatever you do, don't take the Clover package as this is the software I am working with. They don't tell you ahead of time that it is a different program you than what they demo to you.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't use it, but if you do - don't fall for the Clover mini package scam. Clover is great - the software Booker sells to go with it is terrible.

Comments: Overall, interacting with several people there were only two I had significant issues with. Their customer service is helpful if only slightly fragmented. My companies stake holders were not impressed by the service and went elsewhere. However, I still would recommend at least investigating their services to assist your company.

Pros: Salesmen are very attentive, attempt to find questions to any answers and are quick to return calls. Software is very clean and easy to use as long as you stay within their realm of "basics".

Cons: Unfortunately, if you have any type of development background this software will not allow you to utilize it unless you upgrade to the API. Prior to purchase we were told we would have Full Access to all features and everything was 100% customize-able. However, there are areas of customization you still need to have a "Super User" (call in to tech support + talk to a manager) to change. Example: Accepting cash in office. The second issue I had is their merchant processing. They don't have syncing with Amazon Pay (primary issue we were told could be done with this software), PayPal or Square. You are charged additionally to use their merchant processing (and with companies my accounting had never heard of/didn't want to use). Again, while promised we would be able to find a work around, eventually it was found even with upgrading to a higher tier with API access, there was an extremely slim chance that different integration methods was possible. Third: The price. Please understand if you desire to let one company manage everything then this software is helpful. However, if you don't then per month charge is rather high when other simple services are free or offer nearly every feature Booker does for 1/5th the price. So, do your research and speak with both Sales force and Tech support before making a decision.

Pros: The ease of scheduling. It is simple to teach new people and services just pop up when you start typing them. I like that.

Cons: Sometimes the system can be a little bit slow. It is truly only difficult when there are lots of people waiting on you.

Overall: We love Booker here at our spa. I love the features we use for creating yoga classes and memberships as well. It's very easy to use in that aspect. Scheduling appointments is a breeze and checking customers out couldn't be easier.

I do wish there was a way to put notes onto gift card codes or under a customer's name so that if there is any confusion with an order or if someone gave their gift card to someone else, we could go back and see who they gave permission to use that gift card.

Another thing that would be a great feature to add to Booker is the use of storing a client intake form on a client's file in the system. If we were able to take a photo of a signed client consent form with all of their information on it and upload it to Booker as a PDF file, it would be truly magical. Paper piles up... we would love to go digital :)

Recommendations to other buyers: Anyone learning to use it, I would just say spend a little time looking around and trying things... you will learn it quickly. I love this system. With the exception of only a couple of things I wish Booker would have, it is a great system for a business. I would recommend it to anyone.

Pros: I like that it is at least up to speed with the functions such as mindbody in terms of booking appointments, automated emails and payroll reports

Cons: I have researched and spoken with over 8 diff booking systems. I am writing this review because I wish there were more reviews out there when I was looking. The most important thing is do your research before you choose because all of them make it very hard to leave once all your data is in there. The customer service with booker is just HORRIBLE and to me when you are learning a new system and running your entire business from it there it really takes priority. It is also always having random glitches try explaining that to your frustrated clientele. Honesty it has hurt my business. BUT even that would be excusable if I could actually speak to someone about it. They are often unavailable for help and when they aren't there and you try to look online you have to have a separate log in for a support window! That to me is ridiculous mostly because this log in often doesn't work and then you have no way of retrieving it because you need to 'contact customer service' but there is no customer service so work/business is put on hold! As a business owner this costs me. Again you hope this doesn't happen when you have a client sitting in front of you waiting for help. But what do they suggest? send an email with your question and get .. no not a person.. but an email 24 hrs later if you are lucky...

Overall: like all online booking systems its super beneficial to give clients the option to schedule on their own time

Cons: There are certain limitations to the software that I don't quite endorse, and would love to have more accessibility to customize the features inherent in the system. For instance, we would love to be able to format, on our own, the infrastructure of the Administrator, Reservationist, and Staff roles to allow for certain levels of access to information. Although we have found a way to "Macguyver" the system, we'd love for there to be a more direct system for integrating digital SOAP notes, as well as intake form and profile management by the client when they log in to book an appointment. There have been other, very slight issues, which have caused some annoyance to our clients - such as the automatic CC authorization process when opening orders, or when clients are unable to cancel upcoming appointments online at their convenience (so long as it does not violate our 24-hour policy).

Overall: I've worked with the Booker system for 8 months now, and I've definitely enjoyed my experiences with it. We receive near live updates whenever there is an issue with the system - instead of being left to guess, as with other Spa software systems. I've found it to be clean, well designed, aesthetically pleasing, simple to understand, and full of hidden abilities that I have found to be extremely helpful in the management of our organization. Although there are a few capabilities I wish it could offer, Booker is genius at what it does already.

Recommendations to other buyers: My advice is - stick with it. Like any software, there is certainly room to grow, and I am sure that Booker will continue to upgrade its capabilities to better suite its ever-growing client-base. It's a phenomenal service for what it already has to offer.

Pros: Booker works fairly well most of the time, but there are occasional glitches and every once in a while the system will crash, but that seems to have gotten better in time. User friendly and fairly intuitive

Cons: Booker's customer service has gone to waste. It used to be good. You could get someone on the phone who knew what they were doing and they'd solve your problems. A while back they started using a call center in god knows what country and they STINK! It's become impossible to get a hold of anyone who can solve problems. They don't respond to emails, or if they do, it's just an automated response that doesn't really address the issue.

Overall: It works, but I need decent customer service.

Comments: I hope they put the document management settings back on the brand level, so our new employees don't have to log into both locations on different browsers in order to upload documents.

Pros: It is pretty simple to use, and they work on improving it often. We were able to edit our membership even though when I called, they told me it could not be done.

Cons: They have taken some features away that make it very inconvenient. The Brand level is separate from the location levels, so we have to change locations on our screen when we need to do certain things. Also, their customer support is not very good. They prefer you email them, which works in some cases, but most of the time you need more than an email to convey the issue. Second, I have called more than once to find out how to do something, and they were wrong. Last time, I called to see if we could edit our membership to include more than just one service that the benefits could be used for. He told me no, unfortunately I'd have to cancel all of our memberships, make a new one, and then resell all of them. This would take far too long. I did some digging and found the solution on my own, and it was not only possible, but really not that hard. They also update during our open hours. Since we're 6 hours different, it's not surprising but it is very inconvenient to have our system down during that last hour or two of our day.

Pros: It did give you a tracking method for services & products sold. It generated a monthly sales tax report

Cons: Booker charged us a "marketing" fee for months on end. Apparently the marketing product was not what we were sold - that is the ability to generate marketing campaigns to a specific demographics. Instead, it was an "automatic discount" offered to patients that motivated them to wait for follow up services so that they got them for a deeply discounted fee. Booker took credit for selling these services due to their discount program. In the end all they did was to sell price not quality. Quality should be what spa services are all about! If price is the final objection then it should be in the hands of the provider to decide what discount is appropriate. In order to sell more than one unit of Botox, we had to pick from an assortment of quantities of Botox to equal todays purchase. The software is not user friendly and the predefined reports are weak at best. It was not a management tool! Worse it did a horrible job of taking the place of our former hosted spa services software. When it came time to leave, they stole our data, gave us a few excel files and redacted them after a few months. I would neither recommend the product nor would I EVER purchase from this vendor again.

Pros: I like how easy it is for people to book appointments, how it keeps track of room usage, payroll and other functions. Great that is can be used on smartphones for booking appointments on the fly, notifications via text and email!

Cons: System slow downs have been awful the last few months, we have had intermittent notification glitches (ie people not getting notified of appointments), problems with people thinking they booked appointments but for some reason it didn't go through this needs to be better - customers are unaware that it didn't go through because of missing information on their end - a tiny red star doesn't really cut it for people to see. Should say somewhere - at the end if you do not get a pop up saying Thank you for your appointment - you are missing information or your selection didn't go through. I wish there was a more integrated system for marketing that allows target marketing, I didn't like having to purchase yet another system like Mail Chimp and now HireFredrick. Really gets very expensive.

Overall: I'm a receptionist at a spa and booker has been off and on for the last week. We've had booker for almost two years and it's been a mess. When it's working it's fine but that's only 20% of the time. Our clients honestly just pitty us when we say our computers are down because it happens at least one a week if not more. Messages will pop up at the top of the screen saying booker is investigating the slowness but then nothing comes from that. Due to this appointments don't show up on the schedule because when the system is going in and out it's unclear if the appointment is actually booked.

Inventory is also difficult with this software. We tried to use Booker once and it threw the numbers off so badly it took two months to correct it. Easy to say we will NOT make that mistake again.

They claim to have a live chat for support but now you have to create a whole new account to be able to chat. And when you try to create that new account it doesn't take you through all the steps so you never actually get to use the live chat.

I could go on for hours with complaints honestly. Bottom line, don't waist your time.

We are currently looking for another system to use.

Pros: Seems to be everything I need, like that it's cloud-based, like that it tracks inventory and gives me reports, allows me to keep great notes....I do think it provides all that's needed.

Cons: Problems with SPEED this past year! Especially if you are in minimum itier. I will say that I'm seriously interested in switching to another company. mindbody offers ASCP/ABMP members a program. It doesn't have as much capability as booker, I think I wouldn't be able to sell products online, etc., but that's not something I use very much anyway.

Overall: In general I already covered the benefits....but one thing I forgot to complain about is the difficulty in moving a client with multiple treatments!!! I may have a client booked for 3-4 treatments lasting 2-3 hours, and say the opportunity comes up for them to come in an hour earlier. I can't just move the whole appt up! I have to edit each item one by one, updating the appt after each adjustment!!! or just cancel the whole damned-able thing and reenter it?!

Best Available Cloud based integrated POS & Booking system

Comments: So there is no perfect product, including Booker, BUT... We've run our beauty business for 8 years now using a variety of non-integrated systems including A****Quest and Intuit POS. About 2 years ago, we became very frustrated with horrible customer support from our current solutions┬┐they literally did not have a phone number to reach a real person in any circumstance. The role Booker would play for us was mission critical so I did some serious due diligence before selecting Booker. I created a massive feature spreadsheet that compared the 4 top contenders. Booker and one other option appeared to be the best on paper. So I called Booker and grilled that sales person for literally 3 hours about all the nuances of Booker. She was cheerful and knowledgable (I think her name was Erica) and answered pretty much all of my questions. We have over 60 employees, so training and switching our software backbone is a huge hassle┬┐you really want to choose the right long term partner so you don't have to deal with all that work again. I'd say Booker gets 98 out of 100 issues and features. It is very elegant and thoughtfully designed and a pleasure to work with on a day to day basis. So much more robust and clean that our previous patched together solutions. Yes, on the rare occasions when the Booker servers go down for an hour at 3pm, you will curse their name, but you will also quickly forgive, because no cloud based solutions has perfect uptime, and this cloud based solution is soooooooo much better than our previous desktop apps. Yes, we push the limits of the features. Yes, we wish they would fix some of the "glitches" more quickly┬┐it seems that adding new customers might be getting more CEO focus than improving the user/customer experience. But so far, Booker appears to still be the best available option. Side note: Robert Schmidt in support is a rockstar and really gave us a lot of good advice and strategic insights related to using Booker.

Pros: Smart, friendly people in customer support that live in NYC or SoCal. They really know their stuff and try hard to help you. And they don't speak English as a 3rd language or live in Bangladesh! Well thought out, elegant interface.

Cons: Booker needs to hire more/task more programmers to fix glitches in the system┬┐fixes trickle in, but far more slowly than other SaaS providers in other industries. Feels like they are resting on their laurels with features┬┐slow to fix or add features

Pros: I like the fact that Booker can be used for multiple locations and is helpful with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly statistics. I can use the data to determine what I need to do differently regarding sales, promotions, etc. I can also use the data to determine what services, promotions, etc. are going well and should definitely be continued.

Cons: The customer support is lacking. It has been so frustrating to speak to so many different reps. The notes they take and calls they log has been very inconsistent, making follow-through to a resolution impossible. Even when issues have been pushed through to technical support or the development team, we have gotten little to no helpful feedback. I feel the software could use some updating to improve on the ease of use. Mostly, I feel customer support reps should be trained to actually offer "support," rather than offer a "pat" answer and such as, "This is not a Booker issue," or "I can't really tell you why that is happening, call us again if the problem reoccurs." Overall, our experience has been frustrating. In all fairness, our particular "case," which includes many different issues has been escalated to someone in management, but this has taken several months.

Overall: The ability to serve multiple locations and the ability to book appointments and sell retail simultaneously.

Pros: Booker does help us with booking appointments. Our clients really enjoy online booking, however i saw there is going to be an update in the next week. I will be curious to see how quickly they ruin what already works...

Cons: something is always wrong with the software. dropping credit cards, dropping appointments. they took away simple features and moved them to its new Frederick site. as a long time customer, we felt this move was unprofessional. you have to pay so much extra for something as simple as text or appointment reminders. (a feature that used to be FREE). the busiest Fridays, they will do site maintenance and you will be very embarrassed in front of your clients. happens way too much.

Comments: I purchased this product under the guidance of one representative who basically went MIA the moment my card was charged. He set up a training appt at the wrong time from a previously agreed upon time. He also told me my "sign up fee" was a "set up fee" which made me think I was going to at least be assisted in setting up my acct. I tried several times (email and calls to his direct line) to reach him the moment I received the confirmation email for my training time, never received a response back. At that point I attempted the main number but couldn't get through for days. Your wait time is 2 minutes is what I heard for several calls totaling in over 30 min +. I finally reached someone (6 days after initial purchase) and I had decided to cancel my acct. due to my experience with poor customer service. I was told then that my investment, in what I thought was a set up fee, cannot be refunded as sign up fees are nonrefundable. On top of it all they charged my acct a prorated amount for 8 days of service (assuming 8 bc they were slow in canceling). So now after not receiving any training or set up assistance with many hours sitting on hold they are still keeping my money. I do not recommend this product to anyone at all! Stay away!

Pros: Almost everything.

Cons: There are a few bugs that still need to be worked out, especially with the app. Sometimes I have to cancel an appointment instead of just adjusting it, and then the client gets confused about the cancellation email. Also, I'm confused about the referral program. I recently referred a friend and she signed up. I have heard nothing back about it.

Overall: I have been using Booker for several years now. I use it not only to run my business but to manage my life! I don't have employees, so Booker acts as my receptionist by sending confirmation/reminder emails and texts, Happy Birthdays, etc. I love that a little cupcake is displayed next to a client's name on the schedule when their birthday is near so I can remember to ask about their plans and make them feel special. This kind of thing makes clients want to keep coming back! Love the app as well as a quick reference. Customer service is rapid and always more than helpful. With a few more modifications and minor improvements, I would rate this company 5 stars! Thanks, Booker!

Pros: The interface is fairly simple and calendar driven. Automated credit card processing expecially for memberships is lacking.

Cons: Reporting is primitive. You often have to run and grab data from multiple reports to do simple things like get payroll/commission data. Many reports can't be printed without being chopped up into multiple pieces of paper. Membership tracking and the resetting of benefits isn't automated unless services match payments in a very structured way. Online booking is available and they give you two options. One option is too small to see on mobile and the other option requires registration which causes new clients to bounce off at a high rate. Booker is an old architecture with a front end web interface bolted on to make it look like a cloud option but the hybrid nature is quirky.

Pros: Online Booking.

Flexibility with using Rooms vs. Employees.

Reporting.

Ability to manage all aspects of clients and employee data.

Cons: There's a lack of Sales Funnel Integration with Frederick i.e. There is so much data that is in Booker/Frederick, that should allow us to create customized sales funnels in order to remarket and market to our existing clients.

Frederick is limited into the emails sent, and there should be more control/flexiblity given to the owner.

Currently, i'm using Clickfunnels and other email software to close that loop to create email sales funnels as well as other sales funnels from paid traffic sources.

Digital Marketing is the future of all businesses and a crucial component of that is Sales funnels from organic traffic and paid traffic from FB ads, Youtube Ads, Instagram Ads to enter into Sales Funnels. The power to remarket and retarget those clients from Booker/Frederick Data can really scale each business and should be in the hands of the business owner/marketer.

We have been doing that manually using Clickfunnels and Other Email Software providers.

Scheduling, moving, canceling, and changing appointments is easy.

Pros: I love the client profile. You can look back and see everything he/she has bought, what services they got, and you can also make notes about the client if they are allergic to anything or have any preferences during their appointment! With this feature, we can see everything we need to know about the client's appointment when we print out the itinerary for the day. This way, we have all of the up-to-date info for the client and mistakes are less likely to be made. I love that.

Cons: I would love to see the "document storage" feature to become compatible with tablets and phones. I would like to see our service providers be able to look at their phone or tablet and see their clients profile before they perform their service. I love that we have gone paperless and have stored all of our Client Intake Forms on Booker, but I would like to see easier access to them.

Overall: We are able to schedule, complete orders, keep up with client profiles, and take inventory with ease. It gets the job done for our spa and we rely on it completely! It was a great software choice for us. We would not use anything else.

Pros: The way it organizes everything.

Cons: There are a few suggestions I have had that are business needs (would make things easier) and was never able to resolve working them out. They are still I consider serious concerns. There is nothing available to meet those needs, so I just modified and tweaked and moved on.

Overall: I have been with Booker for 8 years and I LOVE this system. It has helped me to professionally organize my spa connecting me with staff and business and clients all in one package. VERY professional and it helps to make my business shine on all levels.

Recommendations to other buyers: My staff has access to too much control in the way of being able to delete client information. It concerns me, because if I had a disgruntled staff member wanted to wipe out the calendar or delete clients booked.... she could.

Pros: I love the loyalty points for my clients to be able to earn, I love being able to precharge and charge for no-shows as well as charge premiums for certain days of the week. And all of this happens while I focus on doing hair. I do not have to sit around and do anything but set it up. They give you a training call and help you with the features and setup. I learned it quickly but if I have a question I can simply call and speak with someone promptly.

I did have it once before and cancelled because of the price, then I came back because I found they were going to integrate with the clover mini as I already had one but it still hasn't worked out for that. I'm really waiting for that feature. Its just all around inclusive just somewhat costly.

Cons: Wish add-ons were visible to clients and can be set individually to desired service. Also client facing terminal is needed. Hate having to manual input charges outside of the system. I have to have 2 different merchant processors because of the issue with the clover. App works horribly for taking appointments over the phone. Deposits cannot be charged so I have to go into the browser version from my tablet.

Overall: Pretty much everything

Comments: So there is no perfect product BUT... We've run our beauty business for 8 years now using a variety of non-integrated systems including AppointmentQues and Intuit POS. About 2 years ago, we became very frustrated with the total lack of customer support from our current solutions┬┐they literally did not have a phone number to reach a real person in any circumstance. The role Booker would play for us was mission critical so I did some serious due diligence before selecting Booker. I created a massive feature spreadsheet that compared the 4 top contenders. Booker and one other option appeared to be the best on paper. So I called Booker and grilled that sales person for literally 3 hours about all the nuances of Booker. She was cheerful and knowledgable (I think her name was Erica) and answered pretty much all of my questions. We have over 60 employees, so training and switching our software backbone is a huge hassle┬┐you really want to choose the right long term partner so you don't have to deal with all that work again.

I'd say Booker gets 98 out of 100 issues and features. It is very elegant and thoughtfully designed and a pleasure to work with on a day to day basis. So much more robust and clean that our previous patched together solutions. Yes, on the rare occasions when the Booker servers go down for an hour at 3pm, you will curse their name, but you will also quickly forgive, because no cloud based solutions has perfect uptime, and this cloud based solution is soooooooo much better than our previous desktop apps.

Yes, we push the limits of the features. Yes, we wish they would fix some of the "glitches" more quickly┬┐it seems that adding new customers might be getting more CEO focus than improving the user/customer experience. But so far, Booker appears to still be the best available option.

Side note: Robert Schmidt in support is a rockstar and really gave us a lot of good advice and strategic insights related to Booker.

PROS:

Smart, friendly people in customer support that live in NYC or SoCal. They really know their stuff and try hard to help you. And they don't speak English as a 3rd language or live in Bangladesh!

Well thought out, elegant interface.

CONS:

Booker needs to hire more/task more programmers to fix glitches in the system┬┐fixes trickle in, but far more slowly than other SaaS providers in other industries.

Feels like they are resting on their laurels with features┬┐slow to fix or add features

Pros: I love availability of the software via computer or mobile devices. It allows all of us to set our schedules and everyone can view what the calendar of appointments looks like. It is also nice to be able to block time out when needed. The ease of scheduling and taking payment allows us to utilize our customer service skills with our clients. Our clients love the fact that they are able to receive reminders via text or email. This in turn saves us time by not having to call them the day before their appointment. It is also nice that they can book appointments online. Monthly reporting is a huge help when it comes to tax time! The marketing feature through Fredrick is also very helpful!

Cons: There are a few features that we are unable to do via our mobile device versus through the computer.

Overall: I used to always use a Daytimer and have to write appointments in. As my business has grown and I now have other therapists that work with me Booker is a much easier way for us all to be able to view everyone's work schedule for the day/week/month.

Overall: So overall I enjoy Booker and customer support however everything needs its tweaks. I do not like that you have to use their merchant provider and can't negotiate fees much, also lately people are able to book online with a credit card that we later on find out is declined..usually when they're a no show and our hands are tied. Customer service used to be great, now it's good and I don't always end with a resolution. Sometimes setting up codes for discounts is confusing and certain reports. On the positive side it works great for scheduling especially once you know the little tweaks in the system and it's great that it sends out emails for confirmation and reminders to the staff and guests. However, lately my staff isn't getting all notifications. This can be very problematic, I'm rebooking clients for free and not receiving payments on no shows due to the system only lately. If this were fixed I'd go back to loving the product.

Pros: online booking but the page clients connect to is ugly and clients tell me to update it but I can't.

Cons: CC processing has to many clicks and clients actually become irate. System is cloud based only and lags or crashes CONSTANTLY! So nothing works! too many clicks to do everything. looking up client info from appointment on calendar screen should be a simple 1 click. the voting or suggestion area on their site in hopes to involve users so booker can provide the service we actually want IS A JOKE! booker only adds or removes or fixes when is core to website or what they believe we want. cc process is important, the multiple clicks and extended time to do everything is important and what should be what booker changes but no they change nothing. check out the request on that page and you will see complaints current and same complaints going back years and no solution. They make everything more difficult to do or resolve more difficult than necessary.

Overall: The reason for this review is for Keinon.. I had an issue and he was amazing! He stayed with me until the entire process was handled. He did this with a great attitude, he joked and yet held his professionalism. I wanted to be able to talk to him all the time when we have a problem. He is an asset to your company and I wanted you to know that. About a year ago, I had another issue where I lost my password and called booker to ask what to do about it and was told, "there is nothing we can do about it you'll have to try to find it or figure it out.. I mentioned this to Keinon and he fixed it for me immediately..

Cons: Online booking is clunky (hard to just say when is Niki available this week). Booking needs more robust features (only allow certain services at certain times)

Overall: I've been using booker for 7 years in my business after a year using it elsewhere and it's grown with me and my business from a single service provider to 20 employees with 2 locations. It's pretty great. Always adding new features. Phone customer service is *usually* on point, but chat sucks and going through the online search of issues never reveals the answer I need. My employees love having access to their schedules from anywhere. We love all the ways it helps us remain paper free - we can enter digital intake forms and notes, and send e-receipts. And they're always trying new things to help us market better and retain customers.

Pros: Scheduling is ok if you have a simple business. Membership management and automated credit card processing is pretty good. Series management is also good if you have a simple business.

Cons: Many functions don't work as sold like room and equipment scheduling. System often bogs down leading to poor customer service.

Overall: Front end interface is ok but backend database is an antiquated mess. Some of the promoted features like room and equipment assignments don't work and the help desk just tells you to override and not use the functionality. Systems bogs down on certain days and times making clients checkouts very slow leading to an embarrassing customer service experience.

Recommendations to other buyers: I've tested them all and none have kept up with the investment required for an updated world class solution. You have to go through the available options and choose the least bad one for your situation.

Overall: Booker could be more business savvy. Meaning...make the business side more efficient for the business owner to run the business. Reports need to be more user-friendly. Pre-book information needs to be more efficient. Service provider productivity percentages need to be more efficient. As a business owner I don't really know where I stand as far as percentages how we're doing on a daily basis unless I run a report and then the reports aren't as detailed space as I'd like them to be. I can't look at my business at a glance in Booker and see how I'm doing

Recommendations to other buyers: Make the functionality of the software easier for the business owner to run the business side of their business not just to book appointments.

Pros: Booker was a good software for the first few months but has been nothing short of a nightmare for the past 2 years. Promise after promise to improve the platform and engineering reasonable redundancy and diversity have all been unfulfilled. If you decide to use Booker, I promise you will experience long outages (sometimes over 2 hours). If you visit the Booker Status Page the day after an outage, it will be as if it never happened. Poof!

Cons: Booker has not changed or improved since the acquisition by MindBody. My guess is that it will take them months/years to undo the mess created. I feel for the Booker Customer Support team having to make their best efforts to support clients when they often have no clue what the root cause of an outage or system issues is.

I really like using booker, it is intuitive and easy to use. However, there are too many slow downs.

Pros: Easy, good functionality, decent customization options. Navigation is pretty simple an intuitive for the most part - orders is a bit clunky as you have to hit add order 3 times to get to actually inputting an order.

Cons: Reliability. There are/were quite a few slow downs and when it goes down it really impacts my business. I know it's not fool proof, but it would be great to have a back-up streamed line version that could operate when the main one goes down. Kind of like a safe boot mode in Windows. Also, the pop-ups are a bit annoying - most are not useful and dismissed out of hand. It would be better to have these in their own tab and like a badge icon indicate new info so I can review at my own pace. I am usually trying to do something when they pop up so I dismiss them and they are never read.

Overall: easy to use and navigate and get my business running from day one.

Pros: Support is Live people that are very helpful. Can do a lot of what we need in the business

Cons: Goes down, slows down at busy times, hard to get through to support or chat at times, can be a problem with double bookings.

Can be complicated have to figure out work arounds

Would like to see more reporting features like daily reports this year to last year

Overall: Support team is very helpful, respectful and friendly. They have the best people!

Comments: Would love to have a quick call with programmers to give quicks tips to make the online booking system the best by far.

Pros: Books couples massage requiring two therapist (this is a great feature and booker is one of the few that have). Super flexible GC system that allows the service , not the price of the service to show up (very important for spas).

Cons: No mobile options for people to purchase on phones. Also swiper/tablet options requires 5 steps to charge and close (not near as simplified as square). Online booking system is good, but could be vastly improved with one little coding tweak (it bases everything on the start of business day instead of appointments that are already booked, leaving gaps and missed appointments). I could explain this really quickly and booker would be the best by far, because you are the only one's that book couples massage.

Pros: none that mindbody didn't have.. maybe a waiting list is cool

Cons: -Impossible to reach anyone to get help you have to email them and wait a day to hear back

-half of our gift certificate information did not makes its way to booker so I am now paying for both booker and mindbody

I am thinking of leaving Booker (will lose $800 in transfer costs) Think long and hard about switching your online booking software once you do you are stuck! Even after I told them I might need to change back to Mindbody and please someone call me to remind me of the pros....radio silence.

Recommendations to other buyers: Booker does not care about upgradings basic features or really about feedback at all.. Also I hate to say it because I really wanted the upgrade to be worth it after all the issues around transferring data but even my client say its harder to book online with booker... enough said.

Comments: This has been going on for over a year and they're only responses why didn't you call back sooner. As an owner of a busy practice it is not my responsibility to keep up with their failure to communicate, To operate ethically and to address problems. Companies excuse for not repairing the situation is that it was our problem. Worst their promote product is geared to make them look highly successful at the expense of the practice. In addition their conversion of our products and services from our previous vendor was poor at best. Offer a little flexibility in terms of quantifying units sold or in reporting.

Cons: Support is poor. I receive multiple promises to review our problems with their "promote product "with no return call no return email and no results. It's been going on for over a year and they're only responses why didn't you call back sooner. As an owner of a busy practice it is not my responsibility to keep up with their failure to communicate.

Booker is always taking stride to improve and evolve systems to create ease and functionality.

Pros: Ease of use.

We run multiple locations. Being moblie friendly and able to book from anywhere helps us be able to grow.

I am a return customer. I've used booker in the past. We stepped away and are coming back cause the others where not fitting our needs.

Cons: V2 does not have the on line store set up for product purchases. It is not fully built out to the structures of V1. But I was promised by the end of the year.

Your preferred merchant ... not sure I'm finding their value. The sales guy said they would be sooo much lower than Square. But I'm needing to jump through hoops to get the data from first data.

Pros: I like that I can work remotely and that there is a phone app that allows our technicians to view there schedules.

Cons: There's no fast way to make a group booking. It would be great if when making a reservation you could choose the number of those appointments to make and have the information automatically repopulate for those reservations.

Overall: The software offers a lot of excellent features but there are a few that are missing that would be great for salons that do a lot of events or group bookings like we do. The customer support is amazing, which I really appreciate.

Recommendations to other buyers: Incorporating payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Wallet would also make the check out process so much easier.

Pros: All the different types of reports that can be produced. Also that it is easy to combine client profiles when they make a new one online. I love that people can book online for various appiintments, they absolutely love that...and that their CC stays on their too so they can do it on the fly.

Cons: The online training sessions arenxt recorded to be seen at a later time if you miss the actual meeting time. Some of the trainings i would like to be a part of or at least view, but the times dont work with my schedule...if they could be accessed at a time more useful to me that would be great! Another thing is that i wish we could personalize the wording on the reminder text messafes like we can with the emails that are sent out!

Overall: All my scheduling and appointment processing and business organization with it everywhere i go!

Pros: Customer service, ease of use, limitless power, reporting. Constant upgrades at no charge to us. And have a suggestion for an upgrade? There is a component of BOOKER where users can vote on potential changes!

Cons: Sometimes BOOKER gets bugged, slowing it down or shutting it down all together. However, these stoppages are infrequent and when they do occur, they are resolved very quickly...always with an explanation and an apology from Team Booker. Also, wish that the schedule/calendar had a button to jump 2, 3, 4 etc. weeks ahead in the future.

Overall: Customer Service has been outstanding. Always there. Often immediately. Our clients love the texted and/or emailed reminders. We love the ease of use and the reports/history.

Recommendations to other buyers: We use BOOKER for our hair salon. One of our best decisions ever. Learning curve may be a bit long (was for me), but once it is set up, you will never look back.

Booker is easy to use, cloud based, and customer/employee friendly.

Pros: So I have been using it at two salons since January and I have been through starting up both salons and starting them up differently. The first salon did not want online booking, is a specialty salon where we have hair cutters and hair colorists, and we did not accept credit card tips. So I had to make it easy to book clients for two or someone's three different stylists. Then the other salon London alley wanted online booking, credit card tips were added, and also stylists typically did all the appointments for the client. So I had to set it up with bookings that made the online booking friendly and easy to use. I absolutely say if I ever had a problem I could call up Sabrina or any of the booker people and they would walk me right thru it. The system is for people who are idiots or people who know how to use a computer. Since we brought it in my clients have thanked me for streamlining the appointment setups, the confirmation email and texts, and even the thank you emails.

Cons: Only one day did the system have some errors and it wasn't even bookers fault. And if the system ever goes down you just go back to using the clover by itself and booker can help you after put the orders into the system.

Overall: Online booking, confirmation emails and texts, thank you and birthday emails, client profiles, daily total reports, staff sales report.

Cons: (1) Elimination of the "we want you back" email that went out to those who haven't been in (Frederick is way to expensive for us!); and, (2) Elimination of the quick log-in codes, we are busy with multiple users and now there's no way to be sure who actually completed a transaction. **These were some of our most favorite features that we no longer have. We are very disappointed.** ALSO, it would be nice to have a dedicated support rep to work with, who knows how we use Booker, helps us to optimize, etc.

Pros: Easy and efficient, Booker helps us keep connected with our clients in various ways, including text/e-mail/etc. It's been very helpful with clients that can confirm via e-mail and have something to refer to, besides a phone call. The ease of learning the software has been awesome and the customer service is top notch!

Cons: Sometimes (rarely), Booker operates in slow speeds. People cannot click to confirm via text message, and it would help if they could. There have been a couple of times where Booker has been down during business hours and it became really hectic trying to get things sorted during that time, but other than that, we appreciate the apologies about that and the constant communication about issues.

Overall: Ease and efficiency. Accurate booking.

Overall: I own a salon and everyday I hear a client say "I love your online booking" or "you guys are one of the most technologically up to date salons". Booker and Fredrick help us keep track of our financial goals and progress. They also make it easy to market to existing clients and help acquire new ones. With booker you get 10x more than what you pay for. Thier customer service is excellent and thier platform is extremly user friendly even if you're not tech. Savy. I won't forget to mention that in my past two years with booker, they have implemented every idea we pitched to them which tells us they're goal is to offer the best software.

Pros: I love the online booking and e certificate sales. My staff has the option of viewing their schedule remotely and they also receive notifications of services which helps them know of their appointments. Clients also receive notifications which frees up my time in calling to confirm their appointments.

Cons: What I like least is when there is a glitch in the server and I am not able to book or take payments from guest.

Pros: The accessibility and features Booker provides are great and compliment our company well. I like the many options of different logins for staff as well as the ability to email appointment confirmations to guests and receipts. Generally the functions of Booker work with ease and the customer support is swift with answers. Also, you can't beat their reports!

Cons: Many quirks and frequent system slowness. When using the program with multiple computers I wish the system would auto-update. Bring back the quick login :)

Cons: Constant software glitches and long delays to fix them. Customer support team doesn't implement customer suggestions easily.

Overall: Our rep was awesome. She helped me breeze through trouble shooting my printer issues with my MAC. I have been having trouble for the past few months dealing with this issue, but haven't had a ton of time to deal with fixing it.

I really like the new usage of Join.me. It makes things a million times easier to walk through when both parties are on the same page.

Recommendations to other buyers: Good software...but could be much better if the software team solicited "new feature" suggestions from the actual users.

Pros: This software is so easy to use and break down to new trainees! The keys on the side of the screen make it that much easier to learn and get going with your schedule!

Cons: Sometimes it freezes when there is a system update, it can be very inconvenient when you are checking out a client because it'll either freeze or go extremely slow, but it's very rare that this happens so no worries!

Pros: It is very accessible, our therapist can check their bookings even at home. Booker is also easy to use, our new staff can easily learn the basic things such as how to make an appointment and how to take payments

Cons: What makes me disappointed to the software is when the process sometimes is slow and hanging especially during there are so many guests paying and making appointment. I find the system a bit slow that we sometimes need to ask the guests to wait for a while because we need to update the bill, and print it out.

Overall: When I was on my journey for a online booking system for my hair salon i tested and tried over 10 systems. What was super frustrating was most system didn't have close to all the features i was looking for. I needed ease of customer input, client history, inventory, finical reports , and a online booking feature and cloud/app that i could use from my phone. Look no future Booker offers all of this and more. After 3 years of being with Booker i have been approached by several newer companies who even offer a free 1 year subscription BUT lack all the features i need. Booker saved my life!

Pros: I really like this software as it is my third. I enjoy everything about it. Booking appointments are easy and the system design is functional and better than any other software that I have tried. The security for employees to log in is strict.

Cons: There are a few things that I prefer to be able to do since I have been a user for almost 4 years. Having the option to block refunds to credit card so it doesn't come up on the order screen. Sometimes the system goes down and we cannot access any information. When services are credited back to customers, it doesn't reflect in staff sales report.

Pros: It is great for when someone can book in the middle of the night for the following day. Clients say it is easy. So many great features, of which I can grow into.

Cons: Mobile and Desktop versions are not recognized by devices I believe. I had to have separate link in website because Mobile users were getting Desktop version, and then the font and graphics are too small. The Mobile version looks nothing like the desktop version. It is confusing. It is too hard for a non-programing type to get the versions to look good. POS, working with SubLyme, Integrity, and Trustwave all a major pain in the butt. For a small small business like me, there has to be something more like Square which is where I have gone back to!

Pros: Ease of use for staff and clients. Our clients love being able to book an appointment. Tracking inventory and back bar is simple. The setup is easy. Creating specials with the marketing tab is a bonus!

Cons: I wish the software allowed us to block specific clients from booking appointments.

Overall: Booker has allowed me to grow a 3 person massage therapy practice into a day spa offering massage therapy, facials, waxing, hair salon, nail salon, yoga, and so much more. I was also able to increase my retail sales. It's a snap to keep track of inventory, retail and back bar.

Pros: Booker makes many of our tasks simple with automation features and a full suite of tools. We are very appreciative of the new feature of integrating Frederick into our suite. The fact that I can create a newsletter and send in less than 30 minutes is amazing. I no longer have to worry about creating and managing email lists for clients. Booker does an outstanding job of tracking sales and giving me real-time feedback. The fact that I can integrate Booker's features directly into my website, Facebook and other platforms is exceptional.

Cons: Scheduling for classes needs to be a simpler process. We have seen issues with clients being able to book if they are members. A client cannot book two spots for their kids (if they have more than one) with a single email address. We have asked for this feature to be worked on.

Overall: Been a user for 3 years and the lack of money and support spent on this sytem shows just how little they care about the customer. Mobile app stink and always has been like that all the time

The main system is frequent to network issues which kills your business You have customers waiting to checkout that end up having to wait for you to figure out how to do a written ticket , and you have to apologize for this issue ,Booker shows a staus of sytem but manipulates it because it does not show issues relating to checking people out or loging in

Then my favorite is the printer issue which gets messed up once a month all of a sudden its printing half a receipt or does not print at all you can only use firefox and if you have issues they blame it on the browser setting or because you did not purchase your star printer from them then they do not want to help . again this is a major pain in the ass

Even when they have major issues they take no accountability on how employess and customers are affect ,

Pros: I love the online booking feature and the control of having each employee have their own log in. The visual presence is also nicer than any other booking system I have used. The app just keeps getting better.

Cons: I wish there was an easier pre booking feature. We purchased a clover mini expecting to be able to integrate the two and have not been able too.

I wish I had more control of what staff log in's could see regarding client information.

Overall: Management of my salon, althought I now have to cross check everything with my clover because my credit card processing is no longer integrated.

I love all of the system notifications and client emails I can set up. The online booking is very easy and streamlined,

Pros: Online booking, ability to change things easily.

Excellent customer support!!! Don't change it.

Cons: Vantiv, was much happier when they were Mercury. Poor customer support and very bad at mailing necessary documents or helping their clients (me!). Disputes arrive 2 months late and still didn't receive 1099.

Overall: Great Customer support. Works with ease.

Not too thrilled with the Vantiv credit card processor customer support.

Recommendations to other buyers: Check out the suggestions. I leave them all the time to make booker a better product.

Pros: It's great to have access for all the stylists on their phones so they can see their schedules without contacting me directly!

Cons: The text and email confirmation system lacks consistency!! For many months I've been trying to get customer service to fix the Verizon bug in the text messaging system, but not only has it not been fixed, they've just stopped contacting me about it. Not cool that Verizon people don't get texts unless I manually send or rebook. And even the email confirmations, and other carrier texts don't go through all the time. I need consistency. When clients don't get their texts, they think they can not show up for appointments, and then my stylists lose money. Not cool

Overall: I think that my stylists can access their schedules on the go, and not have to bug me about their day. But this system leaves much to be desired.

Comments: Hoping someday you can integrate SMS messaging in different countries.

Pros: I love this system overall. It keeps so many parts of my business organized and presents a professional look to all of clients.

Cons: It's frustrating that there still isn't a way to integrate 2 locations. I have one set of staff but 2 different spas. I'd love a way to be able to make appointments for both locations that could keep track of the staff. Currently, I have had to create a "room" in my current system in order to make sure the staff is accounted for and do all the checkouts so as not to affect the accounting in my primary location. Hoping that could be a future add on someday.

Pros: Easy to schedule, people can book online

Cons: When you try to run a membership bulk report, it does not work. You have to manually charge each customer. I don't like that when you enter tips, it automatically enters a persons name in the amount section, and you have to delete it, and enter a number. I have contact Customer Service with no response on this.

I am beyond frustrated that Booker insists that a chip reader is the responsibility of the merchant, and the merchant is adamant it is Booker. Booker told me they would send me a free chip reader 6 months ago, and whenever I ask about it, they are "looking into it". Seriously, this can't be that hard.

Overall: I have used Booker for the past 6 years. I used to love it, but then they started taking away the reports that were so beneficial to businesses without a replacement report.

The chat feature use to be great, now there is no one to chat with, and if you send an email it is days before you get a response. It is frustrating that such a good program has so many flaws now. I had an issue with someone stealing all of my clients information by forging my name on a transfer of ownership, and Booker never even contacted me personally to verify if this was legit. It took 4 months and a lawyer to get this sorted out, because NO ONE would help me.

Recommendations to other buyers: Listen to your customers when they tell you something that isn't working, and respond to them.

Pros: This system is very easy to use, for both myself, my co-workers and our clients. My clients love the convenience of being able to book their own appointments online.

Cons: Every now and then the system will be unavailable when I am needing to access it to check a customer out, but the issue is always quickly resolved and doesn't cause too much inconvenience.

Overall: Many more return clients because of the convenience of the online scheduling feature. Also, a more efficient working team because the system is so easy to learn and understand.

Comments: Good Morning,

I think Booker has the future potential to be a "First Class" appointment scheduling software. I was very impressed with the initial demo and your customer service reps. This is the reason, I signed up. Granted, our salon will be with Booker almost a year in next few months and we have yet to hear from Booker tech support regarding major bugs and issues with our appointment scheduling.

Unfortunately, our clients have missed scheduled appointments solely based upon not receiving text message reminders. And we on the other hand, have missed out on major revenue because of this issue. Somehow our client's mobile numbers are changing into their home phone numbers when we group service receipt payments. It has been months since we were told this issue is being looked into, but fail to receive updates as to when this issue will be rectified.

Each time Booker has notified us of a software update or bug fix, none relating to our problem is included, nor any indication of the progress.

As stated, in my personally opinion, Booker would be absolutely great if the focus was a priority on resolving the problems within the existing functionality of the software, opposed to new developments or updating or modernizing software features.

My desire is not to come across as someone who publicly bashes companies or their products without expressing my concerns directly to them first--which I have done on several occasions via phone calls and emails. But I was requested to give a review. In complete honesty, I do believe the Booker team is capable of doing a better job not only with resolving issues but keeping your customers updated and informed of the progress with problematic functionality within your software program.

Again, I apologize if I have stepped on anyone's toes. :-(

I really hope this review will alert someone on your team of the dissatisfaction we are having with your product at this time.

Booker has almost everything a practice or spa needs. Unfortunately they are now owned by MindBody.

Cons: Owned by MindBody. I ran from MindBody years ago, and now they bought Booker...

New pricing tiers available on July 1st, 2018, but currently secret?

Cost for API access is extremely high, must be on the top tier.

Pros: Easy to use. Great customer service.

Cons: Being on hold and the repetitiveness of automatic service which requires me to press one or two.

Overall: I have used Booker for more than 10 years and referred numerous friends. Booking appointments is simple. The reports are even easier. The reports made purchasing a new location for my business and getting financials for my accountant simple. I'd refer Booker to anyone. And to top it off, Booker's customer service representatives are awesome.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make changing appointments in full site as easy as doing so in the app.

Pros: Easy to use and many ways to do the same thing, online and app work great together. Booking and moving appts are quick to do.

Cons: Changing the membership plans are hard to figure out. Way too many crashes and slow downs . Take deposit button to take payment button are not intuitive as they could be. The feature that books appt into a room sometimes gets stuck especially when trying to move a patient appt that has already been booked.

Cons: I dislike that the program runs through internet. Often times problems occur with our wifi running slow. But I understand the pro's to using it in that people can book online .

Pros: Being able to log in from anywhere to work my schedule. I'm very happy with the customization features.

Cons: Moving an appointment is kind of clunky depending on what platform you are using. I would love a customizable client intake form/spa release that stores each client's intake information in their file. I have a work around with Google forms, but it's not directly connected to the client file.

Overall: I work alone. I don't have a receptionist. People book online. It's easy to use. Efficient. Helps me keep organized. What I love most is that people can book their own appointments when it works best for them.

Recommendations to other buyers: Use the help file and search for what you want to do. Most of the answers are there, very well explained. Reach out to your support team at Booker. They're very responsive and if they can help solve a problem or explain how things work they're right on it.

Overall: I done a very throughout research before finally made the decision to go with Booker. It's been an entire year since my company started using Booker. Our revenue has increase by 100% in one year, a large part has to do with Booker. The online gift card purchase is also a breeze. I'm pleased to announce in 2016 my company has sold over $10,000 in Gift Cards! That is 10 times from the prior year!

Recommendations to other buyers: Keep on renovating and improving! I have been contacted by Mind and Body countless times. It seems they are slowly catching up. Last year you guys were miles ahead of them, keep it up.

Comments: Appreciate your support both online and over the phone.

Pros: Appreciate how over the years Booker has been easy to use and reliable. Recently began using in conjunction with Booker and am very happy with the response to the confirmation texts.

Cons: Was told when I was deciding which software to use that Booker would integrate with Quickbooks and my data could be transferred everyday. Was not told that it was only a daily total that would transfer and after much work setting up all patients and POI we realized it would net be possible for us to use the POI. We now only use the appointment portion.

For what I used it for it works fine.

Pros: Pretty simple to make appointments and do reports. Customer support is always good. Overall quality is good.

Cons: It does breakdown sometimes but they do fix it as soon as they can. I can't judge on features because I really don't use them. I just use the basics.

Overall: being able to make appointments and keep track. Cashing out, checking in and out of the spa daily, filing reports and keeping track of daily weekly and monthly flow.

Pros: I love how the software is able to tie so many different factors into one system, customers-credit cards-scheduling. Employees-schedules-payroll and more...

Cons: I wish that the notifications were a bit more customizable. I also wish that the software was a bit more intuitive regarding repeating series and the rooms that the appointments are placed in, but I'm not sure if that is a possibility.

Overall: A much more organized business system and schedule.

Pros: quick (when working) and easy to use. makes booking appt easy online and with an app.

Cons: crashes so we are unable to see appt, check clients in or out. or when it moves slow.. we're a fast pace business so it can get frustrating and upset clients.

Overall: Only frustration is how much it crashes esp on weekends when were are swarmed with clients checking in and out. It's frustrating when the internet works fine but our booking system is going slow our crashing.

Pros: It does keep track of my clients visits relatively correctly.

Cons: A lot of things, but MOST of all how much it costs for how crappy it is

Overall: Do not use this program, it's a ridiculous joke. The customer support is almost non existent, i'll send and email and not hear back for 4-5 days. The program will occasionally just kick me right out for no apparent reason, the cost is WAY too much for so little that it does. None of my financial reports match each other even within the program itself, the 'end of day' and daily report show different amount for deposit and credit card batches. I could go on, but just DON'T use this program it's awful

Pros: The information it allows us to capture on a client.

Cons: Just too clunky. If I'm one letter off a client's name on which I'm searching, nothing comes up. No suggestions.

Overall: Rebooking a service takes 4 - 6 clicks. Too long. One and Done needed.

I used to be able to call in and get an expert or chat room. Now I get a response that tells me how long I have to wait until a 'live' person gets back to me.

Pros: I think the calendar layout is good and clear. I like the right-click options list and appreciate that it covers most client/user needs.

Cons: The fact that when you are ringing up someone with Clover, the lag between both sides during the few stages of processing is sometimes very tedious. Somewhat related: Entering in multiples of any item takes way to long since you must enter them separately.

Pros: Easy to use, fantastic customer service... Also really enjoy Frederick.

Cons: That you can't delete customers, or edit appointments to be changed for another day. Instead, you have to cancel the appointment and make a new one for another day.

Overall: Alex was wonderful. Very helpful and insightful. Had many solutions to my problem and did not rush my experience.

Pros: I appreciate having offsite access to all of the administrative functions of the software. I also appreciate the access to customer support via email or chat.

Cons: My inability to customize descriptors and categories and use those categories for reports. For example, I would like to customize the categories for adding/subtracting items to inventory.

I find the deposit feature too cumbersome and unmanageable. I would like Booker to be able to

calculate over-time for payroll and I would like to be able to apply unmovable schedule blocks for our clinicians. We need the expiration date function to work for loyalty points. I also need better report functioning for customers (ability to search on custom categories). Finally, I need more capability when creating specials and setting restrictions in applying them to an order.

Overall: We use Booker for all aspects of record keeping and payment processing for the business.

Cons: Everything!!!

Whole system is glitchy, goes down during busy times and with every new release, it only supports Chrome and Firefox and IE. The mobile version doesn't allow gc sales or package bookings. It autopopulates with expired ccards on file, I could go on and on. It is a total piece of junk.

Overall: Their mobile site is unusable, things break at every release, and the whole system crashes during the busiest times of the year. And it is crazy expensive, close to $ a month! Save yourself the insanity and go with any other company out there!!

Overall: The amount of glitches, lost guest notes, lost time and frustration makes us want to leave on almost a daily basis.

Pros: The ease of the program, the online training, the support, involving users in pilot programs. The available online reports.

Cons: 1. I want the ability to delete discontinued series. It is easier than looking through a list.

2. I liked it when I am in Booker and can click on chat help without signing in with username and PW.

3. After a timeframe, the option to delete old sales.

Overall: I feel that the survey covered it

Comments: I have been using Booker for the past 14 months. I have a large salon day spa, and until Booker came along, our reception desk was covered in large paper appointment books. Coordinating appointments was a huge hassle, especially when I had clients in for consecutive spa services. We would have hairdressers not show up because they didn't check their book the night before, we had clients who didn't show up because they couldn't cancel or reschedule their appointment with ease...it was so much stress, I think I had just gotten used to it, because I ran my business this way for over 30 years. Then along came BOOKER! I was terrified about going on line for so many reasons. Im in my late 50's and not very savy on a computer. I was afraid it would be too difficult to use. Jack was my rep, and he walked us through every step. It was so easy to solve any problem with tech support. Now, my business runs like a dream! No excuses, we all have access to our schedules no matter where we are. Clients love the ease of online booking, and the new system allowed my receptionists to do more customer service, since they don't have to be worried about the headaches of keeping paper books. I'm starting memberships soon, and have taken a couple of on line classes through Booker. Another challenge, but I have total confidence in the support I get from Booker to move forward and MAKE MORE MONEY! I urge you to consider using this system, I am certain you will love the way it changes your operation, and keeps you on top of your business!

Pros: Very easy to use and easy to train. I find that scheduling is the best of any system that I have used or tried out. It makes sense in checking people in and checking people out. The ability to move appointments and change the schedule is wonderful.

Cons: The accounting side of things does not run as smoothly as I would like. I do not like that we cannot do a return in the system for product sold. Our only option is a gift certificate that does not track the product being returned.

Overall: Ease of use and product management.

Pros: It's easy to use and tends to give me most of the reports I need. It is also easy for the therapists to see their appointments from home.

Cons: When it crashes, it crashes HARD and for days. That's not optimal during busy season. I wish that the APP was easier to use, especially for the therapists to change their schedules. A lot of unnecessary steps.
