### "It's really pricey for what you get"

Pros

I like that Salon Iris has an app that the stylists could use and book from their phones. And they could room reports from their phones, too without blocking up the salon computer.

Cons

I didn't like that the stylists couldn't book for other stylists from their app. Example: if a family comes in and splits between 2 stylists, they couldn't call 1 stylists to book the 2+ services. They'd have to call both

We have 9 of us at our salon that uses DaySmart booking and everyone likes the ease of navigating around it

Pros

Very user friendly, scheduling appointments is super easy. You can adjust features that fit your needs. Love that we can pull up reports!

Cons

If the internet is down and trying to processing a payment it doesn’t work. The Clover machine will not work without the internet. Also on the mobile app sometimes it doesn’t show if they confirmed or not

### "Just Don’t Do It"

I used to “tolerate” them because they used to have good support. Now They don’t give a crap. The message on phone says we switched to fast efficient online support because it’s going to be faster and more efficient for you. It’s absurd. I am mad.

Pros

That you used to be able to talk to a human.

Cons

Support is horrific - they left me down and stranded for over a week with chat support not having a clue. Slow. Doesn’t integrate with accounting software unless you PAY MORE Access to app for employees yup. PAY MORE For each one. The cloud version is horrific and doesn’t work at all. Want to use your lap top at home to do some accounting. Nope. You have to buy a second version so PAY MORE Oh and the second license is ALWAYS down and never ever works. So it’s completely unreliable and a waste of money! This software has potential. But your pay a fortune and it doesn’t do anything more then acuity. In fact Acuity gives you unlimited everything for $17 a month and integrates with everything without having to pay. I am paying almost $500 Canadian a month. To date I have not switched because it’s a huge job. But now that you cannot get support and they have no issue leaving you high and dry. I am out.

Great, been using it for 9 years now. The salon I started at had it and when I went out on my own, I was able to transfer all the client information to my new account.

Pros

It is user friendly and all of my business is handled in the app from marketing, scheduling to inventory.

Cons

Texting feature, when I click on it, I wish I could text through my phone and not the app. It would be more streamlined

### "The best Helper"

If you are a big salon or small salon there is a place for your business. Salon Iris has shown me things that I might not have thought of

Pros

I love that they send out two forms of reminders. When you get busy it does the work for you. Also how it remembers prices that you change for certain clients.

Cons

Honestly everything that I have had an issue with over the years has been addressed. So at some point you could cash out clients the same on the phone as the computer.

My experience is great. We were using millennium. We went over to daysmart and it was great. I was able to transfer all my client notes from one system to another love.It.

Pros

Easy to use.love the fact that you can add pictures of your clients. Happy you can edit your notes. The old system I used to use.You couldn't do that, you just had to make a new note. I really love it. Very user friendly.

Cons

I haven't found any cons yet. From my opinion, I don't see any cons as of now.With daysmart salon. It's very easy to use.

It’s really just been fantastic. It doesn’t matter if I’m on a vacation on a boat in the middle of a Lake and a client messages me, I can still easily and quickly book them appointment!

Pros

The DaySmart Salon app was a game changer for me and our Salon. Before we had a paper schedule and you had to physically be in the salon to book appointments or call the salon and interrupt a coworker (not great!). it was very easy to quickly navigate the app. We haven’t had any security issues. We pay once a year for the use the value for the ease of being able to book from anywhere is fantastic. It’s also awesome. You can make notes of what products your clients have purchased in the past so there’s no second-guessing a purchase. There is just so many great options with this app. it’s also great for clients who are booking appointments with multiple people you can look at just your schedule or select individuals schedules or everyone’s schedule.

Cons

I honestly can’t think of any bad things about this app. every once in a while, the system is down, but it always gets quickly resolved from what I’ve experienced.

I have been using this app for years and have never really had any problems booking is easy clients get there confirmations makes my business easier thank you

Very easy to use and set up was able to send birthday messages to all my clients which is a nice feature love how easy it makes my booking work as I am a solo salon

Cons

If there is a problem it’s hard to get a live person on the phone also, wish there was an easier way to put our services in for our appointments

Throw away those smudgy appointment books and messy scratch-outs and hard to read re-writes. Perfection!

Pros

The learning curve was sooo quick. My clients all commented how much they appreciated the reminders and the ease of rescheduling was probably the most enjoyable. Also love the color identification of services and ability to book a whole year in a few seconds. The cost per month is very affordable.

Cons

I have absolutely zero cons and have been using this app for over a decade. I can book my clients for a year in advance in just seconds. Love it!

Overall the salon software is convenient and easy to use. Most of the information you need can also be accessed with your phone

Pros

Easy to use, I like that you can access the software by an app on your phone. It's pretty easy to learn how to use the software. And the best feature is the ability to check out from anywhere.

Cons

There are some reports I would add. The dashboard is only a day by day, it would be nice to see a comparison side by side of other days or months

Pros

I have been a customer for both of my business for years I find easy to use and I really hike the conscience of my mobile app

Cons

With anything there are glitches , I have had some issues with my confirming appointments via apt reminders as texts . My biggest complaint is there is NO way to call and get to a live person! I constantly experience issues with my cc flex machine not completing the transaction, which in turn for my clients that relay in using credit to pay for their services are not able cause of me to loose revenue for that day because now I have to wait to run the card or they pay in their next visit! I have multiple tickets open for this reason! I am considering changing my credit card processing if this can not get resolved because it is not reliable it is has been months this problem persist still.

2 items l don't like 1- no deposit money on weekends couse some problem for my slow salon . 2- the receipt doesn't show the details for clients .spacialy when they pay cadh wr can not prjint the receipt.

This software is very very very dated. Stylist are now require deposits charged before booking a appointment, require you to pay for the entire appointment in some cases and charging for no shows instantly. I have complained and complained yet they continue to add features that they can make money off of instead of catering to our request. It’s my third time returning and was told it was better and found out that wasn’t true. I am very unhappy with salon iris and as soon as I can find something that caters to the new age way of handling my salon then I’m leaving. I have spoke to \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] several time month after month and it’s hopeless. Shame

The app is fantastic!! It keeps me organized and so easy to use. Scheduling appointments is a breeze. Can’t beat the price either! It’s great and recommend it to everyone that needs a reliable scheduling system.

Honestly I’ve used other platforms and I have no cons about DaySmart, sometimes it takes a minute or 2 to load the app when I’m on the phone.

I have used this program for over 10 years and I have never considered even trying a different system offered by anyone else to do my scheduling and POS for my Salon.

Pros

I really like how user-friendly this program is. All of my clients really appreciate the communication about their appointments. And my favorite thing is that your POS system is included in your subscription.

Cons

I can’t think of anything that I don’t like. I guess I could say if it were cheaper, I would be happier.

My overall experience has been good and positive. I do not regret using this app and I have for many years.

Pros

I love this app for the ease of using it. It has so much value for the price. I feel it manages my appointments and keeps everything organized and I feel secure when I am using it.

Cons

There is nothing about Daysmart that I can say I dislike about the app. It does everything I need it to. It might be cool to have a dark mode though.

I have use DaySmart before it was a DaySmart. I’ve had the software for 11 1/2 years. I bought the software when it was called Salon Iris and DaySmart brought them out.

Pros

What I like most about DaySmart Salon is that you can have the app and schedule an appointment anywhere. You can customize any service and the pricing. You can keep up with the clients services, all their formulas and the dates they get them.

Cons

The main con that I have about DaySmart is that if the Internet is down at the salon or having a connection issue, you cannot access the software via app!

### "A great product for our salon"

This has made our business run so much more smoothly. We seem to have less no shows. The stylist is now involved with their schedule which takes some stress off the front desk.

Pros

The software has made our scheduling so much easier. Stylist can be in control of their own books, checking the receptionist decision and eliminating mistakes. The text reminders are a godsend and the clients love them. The color coding makes it easy to decipher. Double booking works wonderfully.

Cons

We wish future appointments would show up when making an appointment as people forget to tell us to cancel one they already have. You also can't "lie" to a client and tell them their appointment is earlier, for the chronically late clients. When the internet goes down or a glitch with the software, the receptionist loses the ability to work (doesn't happen with paper) but we still have cloud access.

One of my employees had suggested DaySmart as she had used it at a previous place of employment. It had high reviews and it seemed to offer everything I was looking for.

### "There's Nothing Similar!"

Salon iris provides the MOST options within a platform on the market. We have access to unlimited amounts of data and that proves to be a HUGE factor in helping us develop our business strategy year over year.

Pros

We love the amount of customization that salon iris has! The ability to run reports on copious amounts of data that date back years and years is extremely beneficial to our business! We are able to better serve our clients because we can see the data over long periods of time. The customer service is like nowhere else! Everyone is always eager to help and genuinely interested in teaching you how to solve your problems. Each time we've needed assistance they go above and beyond! We love that they're constantly making updates to help us better communicate with our clients whether its through email or text marketing!

Cons

The only issue that we deal with on a daily basis is the online booking system. It is not as user friendly as it could be and that is the only area where the lack of control , that we have as a client, is difficult because we cannot best accommodate out customers. Due to the way we operate as a salon the online booking is more often a headache for staff and clients because clients see multiple stylists during their visit and the system just doesn't have the intelligence to condense appointments. OR separate each portion of the service. I would love to be able to chose certain services that are able to book on a 15 or 30 and have other services remain only able to book on the hour. We love that there is a mobile app but the interface is VERY different than the server version making it sometimes difficult or confusing when trying to operate the data base. Something that a few other platforms have, is customer apps where they can more easily access their personal information and appointments. Due to the fact that its an american software, understandably, Salon Iris uses american services such as card connect but because we are a Canadian business we have to find other ways of accepting deposits and credit card information. Overall the platform is a little dated and simple things like being able to have multiple windows open at once or being able to move windows around on the screen while they are open would be simple changes that make it a more user friendly experience.

Reason for choosing DaySmart Salon

While other systems may have an easier interface to navigate salon iris has been around longer and hasn't tried to over simplify their system to the point where we lose more than we gain. The customer service is beyond exceptional and we are always helped very quickly and effectively!

I switched to DaySmart from a software system that requires a lot of space on my hard drive. Now we use iPads. So much easier and more effective way to work.

Pros

This system is easy to use and I love that we have access to it any time because it is online. Also I live that it doesn’t require space on a desktop to operate.

Cons

There are a few features I’d love to add. 1. ID like to have multiple colored flags to mark appointments designated to stand for different notes. Ie: 1st time client, wants to come sooner etc 2. I’d like to type in a color and have the system tell me how many clients require that color or at least how many times it has been used. 3. Color usage in inventory automatically generated when formulas are added for clients
