I would NOT recommend going with PN. It's 2025, there are so many other options with systems and teams that are better designed for the user.

Pros

It gets the job done and helps you keep your business stay compliant. Fine if your used to an interface that's all business and less user-friendly/intuitive.

Cons

Complete lack of professionalism in their Support and Client Success teams, once we informed them we were moving to a new provider. They were vague about the process and Support was unresponsive for weeks as we followed up via email and phone calls to get an update on our requests to transfer OUR business and patient data. I could go on about how disorganized and blase they are in managing client exits but they don't deserve anymore of my time. We experienced constant latency issues and were not satisfied with the reporting and communications functionality.

I would describe it as professional, user friendly, and if you have an issue or can't remember part of the training, they are always there for you. 10 out of 10 all the way around!!

Pros

The onboarding process was extremely helpful, and I enjoyed the entire process, great tutorials to watch. Great value for your money. Very user friendly, I love the ease of the entire system. We had another EMR that was not easy to use at all, I did research on this one and I am so glad I did!

Cons

To be quiet honest, this is a new EMR for us, I have not found any Cons so far. I love the EMR. When I did my research for another EMR, I found this one and was really interested in it. The one that we use to use was junk!

### "Long time, unhappy customer"

The software is clunky. Reporting is ridiculously glitchy and ineffective. You have to constantly back out of the screen you're working in if you need to get another task done, so trying to multi-task leads to having to do everything two or more times

Pros

Not many that I can think of. The only reason we have not left for a more sophisticated EMR is the set-up time required to do so.

Cons

User interface is not at all intuitive; crashes and glitches constantly; support is non-existent; non-responsive to issues but constantly calling to sell me more services; training is all video based, trying to get a human to help is a joke; price has skyrocketed despite being essentially the same product as 15 years ago when we signed on.

Can be difficult because it is all encompassing, but that also makes it beneficial because it has so many options for creating processes to work with our specific needs

Pros

How well the integration works with credit card processing and how supportive and knowledgable the customer care team is when I call.

Cons

The onboarding was difficult in 2023, but since then the company has gotten much better with customer service.

Pros

Setting up PatientNow was a breeze! The onboarding team was super helpful, and the system is surprisingly intuitive — no tech headaches here! We were up and running faster than expected, and customizing it to fit our workflow was actually fun. From forms to automations, everything clicked into place smoothly. If you're worried about setup stress, don’t be — PatientNow makes it easy!

Cons

Don't have may cons but if I have to choose one - I'd say learning Curve: Like any robust system, there’s a bit to learn at first — especially if you're switching from a simpler platform. But the support team helps smooth it out.

We finally found a all in one solution and when I went to cancel our patient now, I was told I am locked into an automatic annual renewal and am required to pay full price for an additional 11 months. \[sensitive content hidden\] had previously told me we could easily transition to read only at any time. Not great and I would not recommend.

Pros

Robust software with great charting capacity. Lack of technical support during 2-3 years post covid. No one worked there and there was only ONE person who could help with support.

Cons

We were unable to meet PCI compliance with the processor your software used and had to stop using the POS portion. We had to purchase a second software for scheduling and POS.

### "Using Patient Now"

Most of the modules are very user friendly and easy to navigate through. Their support group is always helpful and efficient when I have to call them.

Pros

Entering a new patient, demographics, medical history, medications is a fairly simple process in Patient Now. Scheduling appointments is a simple process and I love the secure pay feature since we have to collect a deposit from patients.

Cons

The insurance module is slightly complicated. It takes quite a few steps to create an insurance claim and the check status has never worked since we started filing claims. I am not sure if it is Patient Now or if it isn't set up correctly.

There has been a lot of promises of features but none have actually came to the forefront. Ive had many conversations with the team, none of the things that I had shown an importance of for my practice were brought forward.

Pros

The platform has a lot of features available and brings everything into one system. There is payments, inventory, employee tracking. These are all great features

Cons

It is not designed for a practice like mine. The scheduling tool is to complicated and causes drop of when it comes to scheduling.

Overall PatientNow is a great system. It has everything that you need in one system and the reports can me modified and that is always helpful! Adding new product or services to the system is very easy and there are a lot of step by steps articles or videos to watch.

Pros

How user friendly it is. Everything you need to run a medical practice in one program. Customer service team is amazing!

Cons

There are too many system updates and not all the updates are good. Some cause more issues than what there was before.

From the initial consultation and demonstration right through to the signing up and implementation, the whole process has been hassle free. A few bumps in the road, but team resolved them quickly.

Pros

I like the ease of set-up. There was plenty of support before and after the signup process. Everything is simple to find and complete.

Cons

This is the first EMR that I have worked with, and I really do not have any Cons after signing up with PatientNow.

### "Misleading Claims of Software Capabilities and Support is Lacking Once the Sale is Made"

We were told we could replace our EMR with this one-stop solution and that's simply not at all true. The "EMR" in this software dos not comply with regulations and will not work for any practice that provides medical services as opposed to medspa services. Salespeople and onboarding contacts simply seem to disappear once the sale is made. We were reduced to begging them for help and though they could never seem to find the time to help their billing team never missed a bank draft. I'm left to dispute charges with our credit card company even after cancelling.

Cons

Customer support and in close second- lack of a real EMR

For the most part, it is a pleasant experience. Patient Now is reliable and easy to use. We can make adjustments and edits as needed.

Pros

I enjoy the various customizable options available. I also especially like the integration of text messages. Billing on PN is easy to navigate. Also, customer support is quick and responsive.

Cons

There are too many updates. I think updates should be rolled out on a quarterly basis to improve user experience.

Great. Any time I have questions, I call the customer care line, and I am guided right away if the issue is hard to explain. The customer care representative will do a screenshare and guide me

You can copy and paste an appointment, which saves time creating new appointments when you have patients waiting up front.

Cons

You cannot delete appointments that were created by mistake , the appointmetn stays in the client record.

### "STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! Worst EMR System ever! "

We had 4 weeks of training, and had to practice to use PatientNow. But a system you use everyday has to be easy. It was very difficult and they get you with a one-year contract which you can't get out off. We purchased a marketing from PatientNow as well. They said it will take about 6-8 months to see results reflected to our website. But at the 5 month mark, they changed into a new marketing company and forced us to try them out due to the contract. It was a horrible experience.

Pros

There is nothing good about this EMR system. The only good part was the person assigned to our account.

Cons

Unfriendly user interface: The program required hours of training, making it difficult for our staff to use efficiently. We had to train more than a month. Daily malfunctions: The system frequently malfunctioned, disrupting our daily operations. Weekly program crashes: The program crashed on a weekly basis, causing further disruptions and patient care. Slow performance: The extremely slow pace of the program hindered our ability to provide sufficient customer service, affecting both our business and patient care. Failure to push through consent forms: Essential consent forms were not consistently processed, which is critical for a MedSpa. Failure to push RX program provider chart notes: Essential chart notes that were entered to RX was not processed. We were not provided this information and had to spend hours fixing this issue on our end. Hours of tech support calls: We had to contact tech support almost every day (unfortunately this is not an exaggeration), consuming valuable time and resources. PatientNow tech support number was put to speed dial and a call was made every day. Incompatibility with Apple products: The program was not functional on Apple devices, which is information that was not disclosed when we signed the contract. We were forced to purchase Parallels to make it work which was an additional cost. Clock-in/Clock-out issues: The inability to use this feature led to employee time management problems. We refused to get another app - such as Parallels - since we thought PatientNow had to be responsible for Clock in and out feature. PAX device malfunctions: The PAX device to take payments malfunctioned frequently and had to be replaced THREE times. Impact on customer care: The PAX device malfunctions interrupted our services, greatly affecting customer satisfaction and cause long wait periods. Hidden fees: We incurred unagreed credit card charges (3.29%). Due to the PAX device malfunctions, we were forced to use SecurePayNow which had 3.29% hidden fee. This fee was not included in the contract nor disclosed to us, constituting a breach of the agreement. Delayed updates: The failure to complete updates in a timely manner further interrupted patient care. This has interrupted our daily flow in many occasioans and caused frasturation among employees and patients.

Mangomint is the best EMR system ever, especially after using a horrible program such as PatientNow. Mangomint is super user-friendly, where as PatientNow is so outdated that it crashes all the time. Also PatientNow doesn't work with any Mac computers.

### "Buyer beware"

I've not had a good experience with this company. I have had to hire a lawyer to help correct their overcharges for contracted services. Company is not responsive to my phone calls or email contacts.

Pros

I cannot say there are any Pros with PatientNow.

Cons

Cons: Sales does not inform buyer of Mac OS limitations and need for Parallels. Sales personal make promises that are carried through in execution of the contract. Accounts receivable does not follow the contracted price and up charges web services. Company does not respond to correct over payments they charged for web services. Sales, support routinely lie about helping to correct payment problems.

It was a good start to our business. I think the essentials will fit us more, but for the most part it was user friendly.

Pros

The invoices were easily created and easy to look up. Kept track of open invoices. Also liked the we could access some things from phone app.

Cons

Inputting schedule times for different providers was difficult. Also the photos section sometimes froze up or lagged when on the iPad. Documentation was also irritating.

Terrible - the stress and disruption this cause to my business is crazy, we have documented all issues and concerns. its very unfortunately that when we decided to NOT come off of on boarding due to the difficulties and interference with the business, they had not a care in the world.

Pros

The thought of it being good. I put much thought and effort in to trying patient now after using the same system for 8 years. The integrity and care about small business' is clearly not there.

Cons

They integrity as a company, sales tells you what you want to hear not actually what they can do, their lack of care to resolve any issues when we reached out. We never came out of on boarding and they are now threatening collections. They where unable to deliver what sales had very clearly told me they can do.

i like it so far , everytime i get confuse i go back to the training videos which is a great feature without waiting or submitting a support ticket

that you have to check out the back bar products under a client " backbar" also , i would like the clients to be able to pre pay an amount under their name without specifically choosing a treatment
