Pros

Day of Event moves quickly and delivers excellently as far as execution. Customer Experience with online bidding, payment and award notification is flawless.

Cons

Data entry is cumbersome and a bit archaic, difficulty navigating within the program to find what you're looking for. However the reward the day of your event makes it all worthwhile.

I loved this software. we used it for our annual fundraising event which included a live auction, raffle, dessert dash, and beverage purchase. This software compiled information, provided us with needed statistics, and helped us track donations.

Pros

We are all volunteers and so do not have a lot of time to dedicate to learning new things. This software was intuitive, easy to set up, and very helpful. Customer service was always just a phone call away. errors were quickly fixed. I never felt rushed to get off the phone.

Cons

Sometimes, it was difficult to find the features I wanted to use. Ultimately, the features were there, it just wasn't always intuitive as to where they were located.

Reason for choosing Silent Auction Pro

Cost was the major factor in our decision. We also liked that there were several levels and we could choose the one that worked for us. That allowed us to not pay for features we wouldn't use.

Team is very responsive and helpful to best adapt their product for our use. Our Client Manager, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] has been terrific in helping us as needed.

Pros

Each user/donor or participant can register through the software and participate from ticket purchases to bidding on an auction item or just making a donation.

Cons

Need more options for post event follow up, ie. sending out thank you letters to donors, attendees and others based on category of participant. Also would like to see greater flexibility with event communication by groups for email or text notification.

I am a nonprofit consultant and was hired to provide event logistics for an Austin, TX charity. I conducted extensive research for a software we could use for "paddles up." I was looking for a simple to use, affordable solution. Silent Auction Pro fit the bill. We used the software a little differently as we were already selling tickets via another system when we booked with SAP. I used the table management system extensively to make the final seating arrangements. We also used the raffle and paddles up features. We easily swiped credit cards at registration. After the event, we entered all the pledges and charged the cards the next morning. Silent Auction Pro was much easier to use than its competitors in the space. Additionally, the training and customer support was OUTSTANDING. I would send an email/question and hear back immediately. Sometimes I would get a return phone call from 2-3 people to be sure I got my question answered. Jim, the President, called me several times personally. We held 2 training sessions with our registration team and someone at SAP was always available. As a consultant, I will recommend this software to my future clients. We couldn't have been happier with our experience.

Not only was silentauctionpro a great online tool that was easy to use, train, and track contacts for silent and live auction, the customer service was beyond amazing. Every time I called with a question, I reached a competent, knowledgable person who was able to help me out quickly and efficiently. Our annual auction is the only fundraiser we do for our MOPS group and it works perfectly for our needs, plus there are even features we didn't get to, but would be beneficial as we become more and more familiar with this product, like using the text or emailing feature to notify past attendees of an upcoming auction, or donation info, or getting the hype up about what will be available.

We have a fundraiser Every year to help people in our community over the holidays and being able to continue this fundraising was a blessing for the entire community who want to help and the families who receive the help.

Pros

It was so easy for our bidders to register and check out. Loved that it kept everyone notified of who is winning.

Cons

Had a little hic-up understanding the Donation entry and picture taking, but once we had a system, it went very smooth.

SAP exceeds the needs we have for our Silent Auction. We held a virtual event this year, and it was well-received.

Pros

The pricing tiers are very appealing. We pay for what we need, and the fees are lower than other sites we evaluated. The training videos are well done, and the support team is very knowledgeable.

Cons

It's a bit tricky to upload multiple donors and multiple photos for a single auction item.

The one thing that impressed both my co-chair and I was the amazing customer support. The people we spoke to knew their product and provided the help we needed. No matter who we spoke to, we got the support we needed.

Pros

It was easy to enter the donations. In addition, it was very easy to go back and edit donations. The catalog creation was even better. It helped organize the items, add photos and we could add donations even after the auction started since we did receive late donations. And the after auction reports made our evaluation simple.

Cons

It was difficult for us to figure out which of the pull down sections to use. Such as "I know I saw that somewhere, but where?"

We have increased our profit every year using Silent Auction Pro. The Auction setup is wonderful. I cannot imagine using any other product! 10 out of 10!

Pros

I love the changes that were made this year. The site looks great on mobile use. It was SO easy to get help when needed and Becca made a sheet for me that I needed that saved me SO much time!!!

Cons

I wasn't a big fan of the seating chart feature. I think it could be helpful for some people but there were just too many variables for us to use it. This wasn't a big deal to us at all.

Silent Auction Pro is a full featured auction and ticket software that is easy to learn and easy to use. The instructions in the Help section are very thorough. When I had questions, I was able to reach someone right away, and whomever I spoke with was very helpful. An event agent called me the day before and the day of the event, to help with any last minute issues. Although the front end interface is not fancy, our guests found the site easy to use. Silent Auction Pro offered the best, most economical price structure of all the Auction Software, and I did a lengthy comparison in a spreadsheet of all the auction software out there. (Since we are a non-profit, we want to make the best use of our donor funds.) I was able to get full reports and all the information I needed about our ticket purchasers and on our event auction from SAP. The only thing on my wish list for this software is that the front end interface, what our ticket purchasers see, would be a little more visually appealing. But that is minor compared to the other important features that Silent Auction Pro does have.

Pros

Ease of use, full features, great customer service.

Cons

Font end interface not as visually appealing as I would like.

This software is an absolute MUST if you're running a charitable auction. It completely steam-lines our auction processes. I've used it for 3 auctions and can't imagine ever planning and executing an auction without it again. (In fact, I refuse to plan a fundraiser if I can't use the software now that I know how valuable it is.) The planning and preparation of an auction is incredibly time consuming and this Silent Auction Pro took the struggle out of the process. We significantly reduced auction check-out time with the stored credit card pre-authorization function. Not only does this help our attendees as they can securely enter their credit card numbers on-line themselves, it also helps our volunteers as we don't have to spend time entering credit card information in order to check them out. In addition, all auction purchases can be very quickly charged even if the winner is not present and each winner immediately receives an invoice via email. If there's a mistake, refunds can also be given very simply. There are so many fantastic features that I can't speak of them all here but will mention another favorite, the Auction Program feature. You can quickly and easily print Auction Programs which include all auction items titles, descriptions and auction numbers with a simple export! Amazing! Thank you Silent Auction Pro! Jim Donnell is also very responsive and helpful if there's ever a question about the product and how it can serve your auction.

This is the first year we utilized a web-based software for our auction. Our school has had an auction for 17 years. We found the web-based platform to be very flexible and easy to use for multiple volunteers from home or any other place they have access to Internet. Silent Auction Pro was very responsive and able to help us work through many issues. There are many great functionalities that are available with the system if they are purchased. One issue we noticed was that we frequently have items at our Live auction that are high dollar and are purchased by several bidders who want to split the cost and claim as a tax deduction. The previous system we used had an option on the software known as a "split bid". Our data entry person would enter the numbers of the bidders who wanted to split the total cost of an item. These bids would have the same item number and each bidder would have a correct dollar amount of what they paid for the item on their tax letter. We were disappointed that Silent Auction Pro did not have this capability since our old system did. Overall, we like the real-time tracking of all the donations and income. It would be fantastic if there was one area to log expenses.

Thanks for the great (and constructive) review! It is possible to split payments between multiple parties but as you point out the item still shows as being "won" by one person and that person is the one would get the receipt. We've added this a feature request. - Jim

Pros

We have used SAP since 2012. It has helped make our event successful every year! It makes collecting the money from buyers so easy. We will continue to use them for our fundraising events!

Cons

Adding the users to the tables can be complicated without the last name of the user, but I mentioned this and they are looking into changing it.

We did a lengthy search for a software to use for our school's silent auction. After weighing pros and cons of many different options we chose Silent Auction Pro because of its low costs and fees, it's ability to do mobile and online bidding and it's excellent customer service. Jim and his team are amazing. Every question gets a personal and very quick response and they worked to fix every issue and question we had with setup. This was our first year doing our auction online. We wanted to move to online to get rid of paper bidding and the hassle that causes at checkout as well as to include the parents and community members that weren't able to attend the event. Setting up the contacts and auction items and creating packages online was so much easier than when we did it all on paper. Silent Auction Pro made this process so simple. Once all the items were loaded it was just a matter of dragging and dropping to create auction item bundles. We had one major issue during our event. We called support to get help. It turns out it was a bug due to a change made earlier in the week. It had an effect on our closeout of our event but we got it all fixed, parents were understanding and Jim and his team worked with us after the event and were great. We'd highly recommend Silent Auction Pro to any other group like ours putting on event. You won't find software this easy to use and Customer Service this good for this low of a cost anywhere else!

Pros

I love that our users can bid on items mobily during our event which has multiple facets rather than just an auction.

Cons

We used a new function this year that was top n bid and I didn't like that it did not have the ability for users to have the option to use "bid for me" but that could be a piece creators could add in later

I've used other silent auction software in the past. Silent Auction Pro is so much better than the other system. What makes it better?? Cost, ease of use, and most importantly support! I can't say enough about the on-going support that we receive from the Silent Auction Pro Team. We've used Silent Auction Pro for two events now, both have been a success. Each event gets better and each year we learn more functionality in the system. Silent Auction Pro continues to enhance their product. I would highly recommend Silent Auction Pro!

Pros

It has a great deal of functionality. There are many reports that help you before, during and after your event. The support from the Silent Auction Pro team is top notch!

Cons

Some of the screens are too busy but once you get used to the software it's fine.

Silent Auction Pro easily facilitated the conversion of our in person silent auction to a mobile auction. The package was easy enough for our older members to use and enjoy as well as the overall Parish. Items sold at a premium since we were able to open the auction days before our Bazaar. The live auction portion went smoothly as well and we were able to reconcile the results in one tenth the time of our old process. The software is well worth the price.

Pros

Silent Auction Pro enabled all of our Parish including the older members who were less comfortable using their phones to easily participate in our auction. The package was very easy to use!!!

Cons

Our most difficult decision was to actually make the investment to use the product since we are a non-profit and our labor is free. In the end, the results of our auction justified the cost.

Our experience with Silent Auction Pro represented the first time we had conducted an online/mobile auction. There was a learning curve, but throughout the process, we found SAP very helpful and responsive to our questions. Up to the night of the party, there was always someone available to us by phone or email. The program takes a bit of time and concentration to master, as would be expected with anything new. Once mastered, data entry goes very quickly. Night-of-party can get very hectic, and the need for enough help cannot be overstated. And this help MUST be trained prior to the event and comfortable working with the program. That can solve almost all the issues. The other recommendation is to use the whole system. Selling tickets through SAP would have helped us immensely in getting people registered to bid. Sadly, we had already started selling tickets before we purchased the program. That won't happen again. Good people and a good product. It was also quite affordable and well worth the investment.

Pros

Great way to keep up with donations. Great way to bundle items into packages. Great records on guests to use for next year's event. This software helps create a snapshot of the event that will be very useful. Very responsive staff. Affordable and helps bring in increased donations with the online option.

Cons

Takes a while to master. Requires a number of people at the event to check in guests. Guests don't like to have to wait in line for their bidder numbers. Some guests balked at mobile/online bidding.

Silent Auction Pro organizes your whole event from start to finish.

Pros

Software is easy to use and intuitive. When you do hit a snag or need more information, the Silent Auction Pro Team is there to help - never had to wait on hold very long. Also, the developer took a look at our data a couple of weeks before the event to suggest minor changes in how we entered the data to make the software even more functional. That is top level service!

Cons

As with any new program, there is a learning curve. If you have people on your board that don’t like change, you will have to spend a lot of time getting buy in and training them how to use the program. However, that would be true with any software.

Our overall experience was very positive. Last year we used Silent Auction Pro without mobile bidding and were pleased, and this year we moved to the mobile bidding option and that was a game changer - we were even more pleased with SAP and it helped us have a very successful event!

Cons

We were truly pleased with everything. There were a couple of things in the program that were not self-explanatory and that we did not understand at first, but the SAP staff was always available to help us figure things out.

I usually work as a staff member at check-in and check-out -- the most hectic times of the event. Silent Auction Pro made these processes easy, keeping our guests happy and reducing stress for the staff.

Pros

I like being notified when I've been outbid, so I can persist on items I really like. The bidding process and check out are so much easier than the way we were doing it before.

Cons

I worked as a staff member checking guests in on laptops at our annual golf outing. The check-in process went fine, but later in the day I had trouble assisting guests who were using the app on their phones. I could use more training on how to troubleshoot.

We have never used an auction specific software for our annual gala event since it is a one time a year fundraiser. We knew we were struggling with check in and check out lines and not giving our guests the best possible experience at the event. I did some research and found Silent Auction Pro. We were able to call and get a demo the next day - we couldn't believe how user friendly the system was and how much it would cut down on the time it took us to manually create packages and create display sheets. I was also excited about how easy it would be to send a thank you to event attendees, bidders and donors the day after the event. I also had access to all sorts of reports following our gala and could quickly generate statistics from the event. This all usually takes me up to a week after the event to pull all the information. We received great feedback on the ease of use - we jumped right in and used the mobile bidding. Guests of all ages could use their smartphone or go to a kiosk in the room to quickly place bids and receive notifications if they had been outbid, leaving them more time to socialize with other guests. Customer service was awesome - we had a question during the event, we called and talked to someone right away who walked us through exactly what we needed to do. Overall we are very happy with the experience and will use Silent Auction Pro for our event again next year!
