Pros: Flow 3D is a very complete program that engineers can use to solve complex flow problems. The range of boundary conditions and domain complexity that can be tackled with this software are outstanding.

Cons: There is a little bit of a learning curve that needs to be traveled before one feels comfortable with the software. However, once you get familiar with the software, you exploit its power.

Overall: This software has saved us a lot of time and effort developing coating processes in our lab.

Flow 3D is a great tool to model complex transport phenomena for R&D and Product Development.

Pros: The range of complexity that can be built into a model is extremely useful. The Volume of Fluid approach to modeling is sound and it allows for severe gradients in any variables to be captured accurately by the model.

Cons: There are no real Cons to this software. The only obvious warning to the user is that you need to understand the underlying physics of the problem, to build a model that makes physical sense. The old adage "garbage in, garbage out" remains true.

Overall: Insights into the potential causes behind some of the shortcomings in our processes.
