Pros: The owner of the credit card processor that works with PetExec is by far my favorite person at PetExec, he also saved us a ton on processing fees and introduced us to Clover which greatly increased our tips. We love that PetExec is cloud based, their financial reports are very helpful in analyzing our income. Their email features are great, we love that it sends out bday emails to the clients. Their daycare, feeding, med and commission reports are great as well.

Cons: The designer is very grumpy and he's a control freak so only he can make changes. He's very resistant to change as well. The customer service is pretty horrible, if you ask a question the majority of the time it's answered with a how-to link. When I reach out to customer support it's because I want to talk to someone, I would simply search their documents if I wanted to read through pages of irrelevant info to get the answer to my question that they could simply answer. Many features of the software are outdated, for example when you want to add a photo to an email you must first upload it to a website (not petexec) to create a link that's then put into the email, this feature is also in Spanish for some odd reason, it's been like this for 3 + years. then to resize the photo you have to use a size ratio feature in the Spanish URL photo add pop up box. There's about 25 ways to do everything, it's so over complicated it's ridiculous. In our industry we are busy on weekends and holidays, PetExec support is offline on weekends and holidays, they're on vacation when we need them most. We found a new software and started using it a month ago, it's the best decision we've ever made, the new software customer support is phenomenal. It's really a shame, PetExec has so much potential, they're so close to being awesome, they just need to listen to their clients.

Overall: I was able to work from home and analyze our income to help increase our revenue. Having photos of all of the pets was also a wonderful feature.

I agree that Josh with FCMS is amazing!

I have worked with Paul for going on 17 years. He is also one of the smartest and hardest working people I know.

We don't have any directions in Spanish - you might be referring to the Latin text which is the standard text to illustrate how images are displayed within text in an image editor.

We do have a lot of features that can be complex at times. We try to balance the needs of many customers who want more features vs making it more simple. We have a wide range of many different needs to address.

I really enjoyed our conversations when you were a packmate and am so sorry for you to leave on a bad note. However, I am glad you found a system that works best for you. Best of Luck Meredith!

Pros: Ease of use, good reporting, fairly clear layout. Love the timeout for security purposes - especially when you have a multi-person front desk. Having a history of what each person did is great for accountability and continuous improvement. LOVE the new dropdowns next to Owner's Name & Pet's Name to go to frequently used functions.

Cons: Inconsistencies like having a certain function on a page (like the owner drop-down menu), but not on the next page (like Owner Credit Cards, for example). Clicking the "back button" not taking you to the previous screen, but way back to the Dashboard so you have to perform a search again, Boarding cards opening in a separate tab (good) but Feeding Reports open in the same tab (bad because you're so used to things opening in a new tab, you often accidentally close out Pet Exec altogether and have to log back in). The issue about owner-initiated reservations that I discussed in my review is preventing me from rolling out this valuable functionality. Inability to delete the default Pet Behavioral Advisories - most of the defaults don't apply to us and the custom ones we've created get lost in a long list of checkmarks.

Overall: I've been using Pet Exec for several years now and, while some software quirks and inconsistencies are frustrating, overall the software is VERY functional and easy to use. Things are continuously improving and the customer service / technical support team is excellent.

I would like to see the functionality for customers making their own reservations improve. Unless I'm behind the times (which is entirely possible), customers can log in and make reservations, but the team at the business doesn't have visibility or "approval" step before the reservation is entered into the system. This may not be an issue for some businesses, but for ours, this step is essential. We offer Chauffeur Service and specific drop-off windows for boarding clients. The reason we haven't switched to allow our customers to make their own reservations is that we might miss some last-minute Chauffeur pickup requests. I have put in a software upgrade request on this matter, so it's possible the team is considering it.

Anyway, the bottom line is that I'm happy with PetExec and the automation it has been able to bring to our facility. While other daycare/boarding facilities in the area are still using whiteboards or hand-written kennel cards for feeding and meds, we have beautiful feeding lists to keep us on track. This alone has reduced our food prep time and increased our accuracy.

The Boarding Snapshot has also greatly reduced our holiday preparations since we are able to see at a glance who is boarding so we can accommodate their special needs.

Rearrange the location of the selection of whether to send an email receipt on the final checkout screen from below the swipe credit card field to just before it for convenience.

Rearrange the stack of times on the Grooming Screen from their current orientation. The order should be Pick up time, Scheduled time, and at the bottom Drop off Time.

There is no way to turn off the requirement for choosing a drop off time when scheduling Daycare.

Overall: In general, PetExec has been very reliable. There were two incidents this year that affected our ability to carry on transactions, but it seems as if those outages have been solved.

We do quite a bit of training here at Roverchase and the group class portion of the app seems okay, but we do training of daycare dogs and the "Scheduled Services" part of PetExec requires our Front Office to do the coordinating between Daycare Reservations and Scheduled Services calendar appointments. Keeping prepaid daycare days, reservations for daycare attendance, and training appointments coordinated can be a headache if a pet misses a planned day of training.

Perhaps I have missed the feature, but it would be nice to have a feature where we could prohibit making online reservations for daycare or for either signing in or picking up boarding dogs on specified days (for instance, dogs can stay over on Christmas, but we would not want them to be able to check in or out on that specific day so that our office staff could have the day off.

Recommendations to other buyers: We might be a little unique in our need to organize and automate the daycare training feature that we specialize in. However, we would love to discuss those needs with you if you saw more interest.

Pros: The best thing I could say about PetExec is that once you understand how to use the software its pretty easy to navigate. You get it the information to the developers and they set it up which is a better experience than I've had with other software companies. Receiving payments, adding customer credit, reviewing purchase history and future schedules are available which is really helpful in everyday use. Customer support for this software is phenomenal! They have a chat option once you log-in and you can ask the agent any question about how to find something and you'll have an answer within minutes if not seconds. That is probably by far the best feature of this software--I don't need to use it often but when I do its really nice to have it available. Also, they have documentation available on how to find things or do things in PetExec.

Cons: A downside to using PetExec is that completing an action in the software takes a lot of clicks and uses multiple screens. All of the pet, client, booking, etc. information are all on a different pages and to get to those pages its not as simple as clicking a button which is unfortunate and can complicate things when you're speaking to a customer and they need to check out and want information about their account. You cannot just look at a customer page and have all of the information available you have to find where that information would be then click on a link that will take you to another screen that will have a button that can take you to another screen that actually has the information you need. The software in general is not very intuitive but it does have mostly everything you need.

Pros: The ease in sharing information on each dog, the accessibility, the option for report cards, all the neat features to keep my dogs organized and having saved profiles for each dog to retain detailed information on them.

Cons: Lack of mass organization and accessibility to view all details on each dog at once. I would like to be able to scroll through and read about each dog in house to make it easier to keep track of feeding, issues, playgroups and behavioral notes.

Overall: We run a large scale daycare and boarding facility and it would be much easier if there was a feature like feeding and medical charts so we can easily keep track of who is/isn't eating and dogs that have play injuries, sensitivities, or anything else. When you are trying to keep track of all of it it is harder to go from boarding dog to boarding dog on the dashboard instead of having a printable spreadsheet type deal. For instance, there is a software for zoos that has a function like that so they can pull up track records for those related things for each animal and you can check off who has/hasn't eaten as well as notes on who needs tended to, but it includes the notes on each animal that is having issues in a solid list instead of a medication list. They track on whether they ate or not is the most important, but for right now we have a notebook and whiteboard to track those things (like who has diarrhea, who threw up when and who hasn't eaten) when it would be much more efficient to have it as a function that the front desk staff and everyone would see. It would definitely streamline how my canine kitchen is ran and how much time it takes us in a day. A feature to click from profile to profile (swipe right like tinder haha) so I can easily update details for each dog instead of opening a million tabs and keeping track of where I left off constantly would make life easier for me as well. Thank you!

Pros: Being able to easily see what pets are checking in and out and what pets are currently boarding at the facility is the most important part of helping our business run smoothly.

Cons: How daycare reservations are totally separate from the boarding ones. I wish it was blended all into one.. and customer service.

Overall: Overall the program is decent. It's not a perfect fit for my business personally, but I didn't expect it to be since everyone does things differently. For us, daycare and boarding are all linked together so I can't really use the daycare functions of the program, I have to pretend that all reservations are boarding in order to make it work. One thing I would add to make our lives easier is a short-cut button or tab on the dashboard that sends you directly to the "boarding by kennel" section. I use the boarding by kennel function all day to double check what rooms/kennels I have available for our dogs/cats before making any reservation, and it's a pain to have to search for the link in the drop down menu every time. The only really bad thing I have to say is that so far every experience I've had with customer service hasn't been very good. I normally use the live chat feature which is convenient, however the answers they give me to solve the problems I'm having never make any sense. It seems like they simply type out some generic response without really investigating the issue I'm having. For example, I recently was trying to locate the "maintain owner advisories" option because it was missing from my drop down menu. After telling me that it was located in two other incorrect places, the tech support person then tells me it's located in the "maintain how heard" section... My common sense told me that it wasn't going to be there before I even tried looking for it, which of course it wasn't. It took a few more tries before they sent me in the right direction. Other than that I've generally had a positive experience using the program on a daily basis. There's only a few small things I would change.

Overall: I was excited about the prospect of a software system that we could access online anywhere and that our clients could also have control of their accounts. Sadly we have found more problems with this software than positives. Although the technical support is quick and easy to access I have found that the typical response to my inquiries is "the software doesn't do that". I find the booking calendars tedious to edit, especially for reoccurring appointments, having to go into each individual appointment to change it instead of being given the option as to which appointments you want to amend like Google calendars, the POS system is confusing, Daycare sign in is tedious, we were told that all we needed to do was scan the clients bar code and the system does the rest - no such luck! The invoicing system is pretty much none existent, especially if you want to do monthly invoicing. I find it extremely concerning that you cannot see what has been emailed to clients through the system - no 'outbox' that you can check. I'm not overly keen on the client profile set up, some items are listed under the pet, others under the owner - for me, it should be under one or the other and all information be accessible in one place. Trying to make notes on the mobile application is a nightmare as it seems like it tries to guess what you're typing and you end up with a string of text that makes no sense! The online tutorials aren't much help either. It's almost like there should be a petexec representative that comes out to your business and looks at your current system and then shows you how to do everything you already do but on petexec. Updates take a long time to happen and don't really make much difference. A really frustrating system to use but one that has huge potential.

Cons: So many options it is easy to get lost when trying to reach a specific page. This is mainly for users who don't consistently use P.E. on a daily basis.

Overall: We operate a luxury Daycare, Grooming, Boarding and Dock Diving facility. PetExec has been a life saver, as it incorporates everything from scheduling to customer records to inventory management and order processing! The tech support is fabulous; they have a built in chat support system that is near instant, and their programmer Paul is awesome at adding new features requested by users. Their support guy for First Data is incredible as well. He is expedient and cares about quality customer service just like the rest of the PetExec team. Their rep in tech support is patient and helpful as well. There's so many options in PetExec that it can be overwhelming to new users, which is why I put 4 stars for ease of use. However, the system is very clean looking, has custom color templates to choose from, and is super easy to pick up on. As a programmer and IT admin myself, I can definitely see the thousands of hours of work that have gone into PetExec and I am definitely impressed with the outcome. Their servers are really well maintained and we never experience connection issues or outages. They also have a wonderful Facebook group just for P.E. users that serves as an awesome open forum for people with questions. It is great to be able to network with other people who work in/ run doggie daycare businesses. PetExec is definitely the best product out there for dog businesses hands down; it is the perfect all-in-one wonder software for anyone looking to run a professional dog operation.

Pros: I like the ability to add dogs, change settings, modify carts, etc. It is very easy to use and understand.

Cons: I wish we were able to sync both of our locations so both places have the same clients and information instead of having re-add dogs into the system that were entered at one because they wont show up on the other.

Overall: We use this software at our dog daycare/boarding facility. I love that the system is easy to use and train new employees on. Keeping track of scheduling/hours, being able to view statistics on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, etc. Mostly everything is easy to figure out, and if you aren't sure you can always check out the help section which usually has the answer. I have had to contact customer support before in the past and they responded pretty quick and resolved any issue we were having. I also like that the software is always being upgraded and taking customer/client suggestions into consideration only making this program easier to use and understand. The only suggestion I do have would be to have a sync function available monthly. We do have two locations that are connected (sharing the same clients) and we were told we could only sync the systems once (when we first opened the second facility) When new dogs are entered into either system, they will not show up on the other system which does take more time and effort to re-enter all the information. If Pet exec added a syncing option for cases like this, it would be amazing!

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend this product for vet clinics, dog boarding facilities, or other pet related place. Its a great way to be organized, schedule things without over booking, etc!

Pros: We have been in business 7 years and I really wanted a cloud based system so we could log in from home. I had no idea how useful it idea would be... We all use our phones, tablets, etc... Most of our services are scheduled so the team can look at it the night before on their phone to see what the day is going to look like, or even schedule a service in the middle of the night from a client that might have had an emergency and texted a Manager... It's absolutely the best software for what we do and the updates always contain stuff the Pack has requested! Excellent Customer Service, the best possible!!! I say that because we pride ourself on "high touch" service and PetExec has exceeded our expectations!

Cons: Well I had to think about this question for a while, we love everything about Petexec.... I guess if their was a Con it would be that even though its very customized to our site...it wasn't customized around every single need of our clients. :)

Overall: I was able to give an honest review of the software product that we use on a daily basis to run our business!

Pros: I think that it is pretty easy and if there is something that I absolutely can not figure out Pet Exec is there to help

Cons: I wish there was an easier way to add a breed so if you are in the middle of registering a dog that you don't have to go out and lose everything that you just submitted. Or have more breeds with photo's typed in the system initially.

Overall: Pet Exec has been the best thing that has happened to me and my business. They provide the best customer support. Anytime that I need assistance they are there to help. You get to have all of your information on one online software program. There is no need to purchase several programs. It's all there. Before I had Pet Exec I had a different online program and I had nothing but problems. The program would go down at least 3 times a day. There were days that the site would be down for the entire day. That would happen quiet frequently. That is when I decided that I couldn't run my business with them. I then decided to search for a much more dependable program. I then found Pet Exec. There has not been a day since I have been with Pet Exec that I have had any problems getting on. Not only that but I can get on to my site from anywhere. Pet Exec is very easy to use. When they do their upgrades Pet Exec gives us plenty notice to update and train us. Pet Exec is very reasonably priced for the product that we get. If and when i call them they have been very nice. Honestly I have no complaints!!

Pros: The software has a great flow to it & there is so much help & support from tutorials to the chat sessions to a private Facebook page just for their clients to bounce questions, concerns, etc. off of each other! It creates a real sense of family among all the Packmates.

Cons: On occasion, we may f\get stumped on how to do this or that. However, it is really not a "con" because there are so many ways to get the answer/advice that we are looking for!

Overall: This software is all-inclusive & very user-friendly. Because we were new to kennel software, it did take us awhile to get up to speed. This was really our fault because we didn't take advantage of their Golden Paw Coaching. Their Support Staff has to be, hands down, one of the best! You can hit them up via a chat session right from the software during normal business hours & they are always in the chat within seconds, literally! I cannot imagine Ruff-N-It without PetExec now!

I graded them 4-star on their software only because I feel there is always room for us to improve! otherwise, it would be 5-stars across the board! You will not go wrong choosing this software for your boarding/daycare/grooming business needs!

Recommendations to other buyers: In hindsight, I wish we had done the Golden Paws Coaching. However, having waded through the water on our own (with PetExec a chat session away), we have realized so much value in this product! We definitely made the right choice even though in the beginning several of our employees thought I had lost my mind. Remember, people in general, do not like change. Give your folks time & they will LOVE this product!

Pros: Petexec works really hard to cover all the bases when it come to pet care software. So many features exist, that if you haven't found what you need, you aren't looking hard enough. Being able to set access levels for staff, customizing the client access, and being able to track virtually anything is incredibly valuable. Also customer support is amazing. In 5 years, we haven't really had a single issue that we couldn't resolve in one call. I always get the sense that the PetExec team really cares about clients, and works incredibly hard to keep adding features that help to run a busy pet business. It's also incredibly affordable for what you get.

Cons: Steep learning curve. Lots of ways to do the same thing, but the work flow isn't intuitive. I'd really like to see a few different types of reports, or at least easier ways to create the reports we need.

Overall: Manages the day to day needs for boarding, training and daycare for our 1500 plus and growing client base effectively once you know the software.

Pros: I like how many options there are in Company Preferences to alter the way our Boarding, Daycare, Grooming, and Training services are organized. Also, I love how customers can create their own account online and alter it themselves when needed.

Cons: I don't like how you can't sign only one dog out from the same owner. On check out, it checks out every dog from that owner know matter what, making it complicated to alter in the dogs that are not leaving. Also, the grooming calendar could be a bit simpler, meaning show what day of the week it is on the one day option.

Overall: We have had PetExec since before the upgrade. The upgrade is way more simple, plain, and convenient! Of course there are minor alterations we would prefer for our specific company ways, but overall PetExec lets you customize the way you want it to run. The hardest setup was to price grooming by breed. It took FOREVER but having PetExec allowed us to create our own entire way of pricing:)

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall, it works for us and it can be altered to work well for your business too! And anytime you have a question, PetExec responds immediately through their chat!

Pros: I like the amount of information we can store about pets in their profiles/scorecards.

Cons: Some features are not very user friendly

Overall: There is a tab to sign-in and out scheduled services for pets. There are 3-4 clicks involved to sign in just one pet for a service. This is really tedious and time consuming. It needs to be 1 easy click, and I also suggest that there be a "sign-in all" button added to the pet exec system. Over thanksgiving and christmas we had over 50 scheduled services to sign in, and with the current set up, only able to do so one at a time, with 4 clicks involved. It took over an hour just to do this task. Very huge time waster for staff on such busy days.

Another thing that happens very frequently: once you check out a cart for either a groom or a boarding but the owner wants to make changes or staff needs to go back and make changes...the cart disappears and is very hard to get back to once its been checked out but pending payment. Can we get a more user-friendly way to access a cart that needs to be modified that has already been checked out by mistake and pending payment? A button that sends it back to the sign-in page or something? Thank you.

Cons: Check out time has to be listed at 11 am for every boarding in order for the system to charge correctly. It would be fantastic if each individual boarding could show the real check out time. The new feature that refers to Clients pick up time has been somewhat helpful.

Overall: I have been using Pet Exec for over 2 years. I believe it continues to change to be more user-friendly and offer features that help us utilize Pet Exec and operate more efficiently. Whenever we do have a problem, which is rare, it is very easy to get help and often times customer service will respond within minutes. There have been numerous times where customer service as helped us solve a situation where there seems to be open availability when you look at Boarding By Kennel, but when you try to book it the system says there is no availability. They are able to look at all boardings and figure out that a boarding might have multiple rooms selected which causes the air. We would have never been able to figure this out, so thanks again for everything.

Pros: My clients having the ability to make reservations and just recently able to purchase packages online.

Cons: There are some confusing aspects about refunds I am still not understanding. Also, different ways to get to the same end result but causing a user error. For example checking in a dog for daycare using the quick sign in button but forgetting to make payment. The only way you can take payment now is thru the pre-payment function under the owner or you risk checking the dog out.

Overall: We have been using Pet Exec for 2.5 years now. There is a learning curve when you get started but once you know the system it is great. The customer service is the best I have ever seen or dealt with. They are courteous and most of all AVAILABLE. The program has evolved with all the improvements and features that they have added.

Pros: It is pretty intuitive, easy for staff to learn, support is good, has lots of features and things that have been helpful for reporting, works well enough for our dog training classes and programs, easy to access client/dog info, works consistently. Facebook Group is pretty awesome, I should utilize it more. Love the weekly updates/intro's to PetExec functionalities.

Cons: It would be nice to be able to upload actual pictures of vaccines, it would be great for each list/report to have the ability to sort by the categories at the top - not all of them do. There have been so many upgrades that I probably need to explore PetExec a bit more to take advantage of all it has to offer - what would be great is perhaps a webinar that we can sign up for that may not so costly since it could be delivered to a group when new versions come out - or maybe there is one and I missed it.

Pros: The variety of options, and level of detail information that can be collected.

Cons: The inability to simplify it to fit a basic business that does not need the detail offered.

Overall: Great Product, Great Price. Could be more user friendly, can take some time to learn the system. But customer service is great at helping when it is needed.

Recommendations to other buyers: Love the software, the look, clean, neutral calming colors, and a lot of detailed information covered. I would recommend a simple back up button option that takes you back to the page you were on with the settings it had. It can be time consuming to try and back up and reset the page each time you back up. I would recommend a simple new client set up, for people that are just training, and we do not need all the information on, until they show up. For any changes on one page for dates etc. it should change everywhere. I have not noticed it a problem, but I think I have figured out how to go around it. But was told at one time, if I changed something at one place it would not change on the calendar. I use the calendar a lot, and rely on it a lot for my appointments. It needs to be accurate to any changes. When adding a product to the invoice on the search button, you should be able to push enter and it searches, instead of having to go to the mouse and push the filter button. I am new to the program, and possibly have not figured out some of these options, but thought I would mention them.

Pros: Ease of use; smart phone accessible; easy to customize

Overall: Our growth has been possible because PetExec software helps us be thorough, quickly check in/out dogs, research and reward our top vet referrals or vets who need more nurturing. We can see revenue in blocks of time we specify, daily, weekly, monthly, ytd, or any combination of dates. Love that! The software is EASY to use so much that we don't even need to train our new front desk workers if they have moderate computer/smart phone skills. As a business owner I love that it ALWAYS WORKS! Thank you Pet Exec for staying on top of improvements, enhancements, and working behind the scenes to make our lives and our businesses better. You care and it shows.

Recommendations to other buyers: Facebook group Owners of Dog Daycare also highly recommend PetExec software for use with a dog boarding and doggy daycare business. We don't do dog grooming so I don't have any comments how the software works for groomers.

Overall: Scroll down, down, there, now push button, scroll, scroll, click. Really? Consolidate to one screen. Maybe use more columns. I'm not sure which way this doesn't work but, Modify boarding doesn't update Pet Profile or the other way around, ie feeding instructions. Scheduling calendar should be that start date month affects end date selection. If I put in May 1 for start date when I go to End date, the initial calendar should show May not the month I'm currently in. Maybe I'm doing this wrong but I need to see who came in on a specific day. If I do quick sign in it doesn't show on calendar that the dog was here on that day. Scorecard option should be available on Boarding Pets screen.

However...YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! Quick customer response. Always looking for improvement. Intuitive interface More functions than I need but when I need something its there. Fair price. Targeted to my industry and needs instead of trying to adapt something for my use.

Pros: I like how you can bounce between different pages, sections and functions rather quickly. You can be on one page and there is usually a link that can take you to another page related to that pet or customer. I also like receiving the e-mails when customers book, modify, or cancel a boarding. The booking page is good too. All the important information is there and a click can bring you to the details on the owner and the pet. Also, the support is excellent. The instant chat is great, and if it isn't available, the return response is very quick.

Cons: Most of the dislikes and complaints came early on but were a result of just getting used to the software. I was warned about that at the beginning, being somewhat overwhelming, and they were right. The more you use it the easier it gets and you discover a lot of helpful items as you wander through the various options. If you do have a complaint or suggestions for improvement there is a feature request item where they address any issues.

Overall: Able to maintain all facets of the business in one place. Addresses everything that is required to run a pet boarding facility.

Cons: It seems to be put together from an engineers perspective and not a pet care professional.

Overall: I have so many problems to name. My clients are unable to make reservations online. Some clients keep being told we are booked even though we are only half full. The price is substantially higher than most competitors. I find it to be very slow. You can't find a client when you input first and last name, it can only handle one name in a search so you are forced to browse through a long list of clients to find the one you are looking for. The list goes on...

Pros: Always have the ability to fix any errors after the fact. It is relatively flexible as far as customizing what is needed. Customer service is always prompt to respond and usually helpful. Appreciate the constant efforts to update and improve the system.

Cons: Can be difficult to learn as there are so many layers and screens to click through. It is very difficult to get new users up to speed--it typically takes months if not longer for new users to really feel comfortable.

I would also appreciate a group and private training module as that is a huge part of our business and the current platform does not offer the best options for managing those programs. I have had to create some workarounds and actually do pay a second software company that offers training-specific programming.

Pros: I think that it provides all of the tools a daycare/boarding facility would need in order to be successful, and does so in an aesthetically pleasing and functional way.

Cons: There are minor usability problems that cause problems mainly when checking out customers and the amount of time it takes for certain transactions.

Overall: Overall, I believe that the PetExec interface provides its users with exactly what they need to run a boarding/daycare/grooming facility. I do believe the usability of the program could be enhanced through minor changes. Mainly a number of touchpoints it takes to check out a customer. I am obviously not currently checking anyone out, but if my memory serves, you are required to click "check out" two, if not, three times before a transaction is actually completed. This seems extraneous. In addition, for certain transactions "debits" on the account are automatically added to a customers total, which can lead to problems if a customer is not able to pay but it is overlooked when checking a customer out -- accidentally charging them too much money on their card. As the supervisor of our front desk, many of my co-workers have struggled with this when overwhelmed with customers and would rather have to manually add the debit if a customer is paying the debit along with their transaction.

Pros: I like the visual layout and way it looks as well as it's pretty easy to navigate.

Cons: We are not a traditional kennel facility so we had to kind of make-up the way we use the boarding feature, I'd love a way to tailor fit it more to my facility.

Overall: We demo a few different software before we opened our doors back in 2012, and what really won us over with PetExec was the user-friendly compatibility paired with great customer support. We've always felt supported by the team, who even once spent the time to try and recover very very old email information. We appreciate the service and have had no issues with the product.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would like to also use it to schedule our shuttle service and track that service.

Overall: I've been in the animal industry for over 30 years and have seen a variety of software for the Pet Care Industry. In 2008 purchased an existing Daycare business that was just the launching pad for where we we're to go. We did our due diligence on all the software that was existing at the time, and hands down PetExec was the standout. Although a new company, the model had so much offer. We have never come across a situation or question that professional guidance was not there. Our reps are top notched professional in each of there expertise. I contribute a part of Planet Doggy's success to them as our client based can use parts of the program for their individual needs and completely user friendly. Customer Support is stellar and takes each question asked to have options and final outcome to the clients satisfaction. Thank you Pet Exec!!

Overall: This software is very thorough and useful while helping to run my business. It can do so much, so it's features run deep- meaning at times, I've spent too much time figuring out how to do something, or worked on a task inefficiently for a while without finding the better way. However... Customer service is almost always at our beck and call, & quick to respond when an inquiry is sent after hours. Usually if I can't figure out how to do something or where to find a feature, customer service quickly gets me there quickly and I wished I had reached out for help sooner!

They do frequent updates and are constantly improving.

The software is flexible to my needs as well.

My biggest criticism is some of the calendar views, particularly for my grooming salon.

I love the reporting and data. I love the email blast functions.

I love how thorough we can be for each client and pet.

We stopped using the time clock. Was confusing especially if an employee forgot to check out.

Overall: We used Kennel Connection for 4 yours before deciding to switch to Pet Exec for our new location. We especially liked that Pet Exec was accessible from any computer and we were not going to lose data should our computer get wiped out and the backup not work. I love the fact that I can access our account online from anywhere at anytime.

We initially thought it would be a lot easier to use. I do think overall it is easier to process customers but some of the simple things that I would want to have access to don't seem to be possible.

For example, if someone new books a reservation the computer will not just accept a name under what the reservation is for. The entire profile has to be filled out. A lot of that information is on the computer application that they will be handing us when they come in and is not necessary for us to capture during our initial conversation. We have been force to have simple paper reservations in addition to those on the computer. I also have not figured out a simple way to count how many boarding dogs are scheduled to come in any future day. Because our boarding numbers can hugely fluctuate, I find I often have to do hand counts. I have to add up the number of dogs expected for any give night multiple times to assure that our staffing is adequate. A simple count of total future overnight dogs would help.

I would recommend this program with reservation.

Cons: Would love to be able to NOT have employees log in from home. Would love to have a small note section on the front page.

Overall: The software is amazing, the support is fantastic in terms of ALWAYS available and with PROMPT service. Sometimes, support can be a little less "condescending" to those of us that are not techies. I would use this program again and again. I do recommend the training. I did not do it and find something new every day that I did not know was there. I think, if I could change anything, I would want notes on the front page and a one-click sign in for daycare.

Pros: It is an online based software program, that allows our staff to access all of the information (and scheduling) from outside of the facility.

Cons: Inability to accommodate major aspects of our business, such as our recurring membership charges and van services. We also wish the software could accommodate scheduling additional services that are connected directly with daycare (much like how additional services can be attached to a boarding reservation).

Overall: We've transferred over to PetExec from another pet reservation software (Kennel Connection). I can say that there are some obvious positives with the program, such as it being an online based website that all of our staff could access whether or not their in the office. The software had very few bugs as well, and only went down once or twice during our entire ownership of the program. We have noticed some faults with the program, mainly difficulty accommodating recurring charges and van services.

Pros: I like how simple it is to use. It's easy to set appointments, invoice, and get reports.

Cons: I'm not a fan of the Calander. I would like to be able to see the entire day on one calander. It maybe able to do that and I just haven't figured out how to.

Overall: I love this product for the business. It is super simple to use and incorporate. I personally like how easy it is to email costumer, invoice, and do schedules.

Overall: I was hesitant to switch to internet based software being in a rural area, but it has not really been issue. I had so many things I wished to do on my old software and this one had it all, and you can make suggestions any time on how to make it even better. Tech support is great for initial training as well as any questions you have - there usually is a way or the information you're looking for is there somewhere. I can't say enough and have told my husband several times that I love this software. One of my favorite features is being able to instill the credit card processing with Josh @ FCMS thru this software - so helpful! Also I love the fact that you can send a quick text to a customer letting them know there dog is doing great or if there is an issue. I could go on and on, but it is definitely worth the monthly fee! Would highly recommend!

Overall: We've been using this software for almost two years and it keeps getting better. Frequent updates and improvements. It has so many features and options it can feel like a lot to learn, but support is available all the time and response to questions is almost instantaneous. We are a fairly small daycare/boarding facility. In the beginning I didn't think we would need such a dense, multifaceted program but we've definitely grown into it as our business has matured.

Recommendations to other buyers: Stick with it, there is always tech support available and a great Facebook community to help you over humps. This software has really become something our business is wrapped around. And we are still learning how to use it!

Pros: The main function of checking dogs in/out and tracking boarding dogs is exactly what we needed/wanted.

Cons: There are a lot of ways to the same thing and that gets confusing. The reporting features could use some help as well. The creating and setting up new employees is not very streamlined. I don't like having to determine a time length on how long their schedule is going to last and then remembering how long I set that work schedule up for. And then we employees leave, trying to navigate deleting them and their schedules so they don't show up on timecard reports. When running reports it would be nice to have a simple concise report for the day and/or week that just lists how many dogs at daycare for the day, and then break it down further if we needed or wanted to.

Overall: We have been using PetExec for almost a year, as we have gotten our business started and up and running. Having a system that is easy to navigate while learning the ins and outs of the dog daycare business has been crucial.

Overall: Using PetExec has completed changed how I run my business. It's easy to keep track of dogs and know exactly how I need to plan things. The program is flexible and everything can be adjusted, so if my employees do something wrong I can easily go in and fix it at any time! Reports are super handy and help me keep track of how the store is doing overall and where I need to focus my marketing. Setting up the client portal is great too and my clients enjoy being able to check in and schedule things themselves. Everything in this program is customizable which makes it great since I can cater it to my specific business model. Using the payment portal has also made my life a lot easier and the fee structure for credit card processing is one of the best. I have done a lot of research and used other programs before this one but this is the one that I stuck with and will continue to use as my business grows. PetExec is a must and I would highly recommend it!

Cons: Everything we haven't liked or weren't sure about they have changed for us.

Overall: From day one the customer service has been outstanding! We transferred from a dated system that our kennel/daycare was built around. After ten years of the same software there were features that we grew to rely on. When we asked about features to be added they pointed us towards a feature request link. I cannot believe how many new features they added just for us! Switching systems can be a nightmare, we tried one other time and chickened out last minute because we were losing some of the things we needed. It was so scary transferring and switching again in that same year. There is a feature where you can live chat which has helped immensely with the training process. The switch was even more flawless than I could have dreamed of. I cant say enough good things about PetExec and FirstClass Merchant services who provides the credit card processing. They truly has been a blessing for our kennel and our office staff.

Pros: Simple use. I really enjoy how quick it

Is and how easy it is to schedule and understand. The way everything is layed out and how you can edit what you're wanting displayed and what format you want it to be in is really great as well.

Cons: Cons: When checking out for Boarding you have to edit the amount of days if you're not careful you can over charge

Pros: How easy it is to learn, the set-up, access from anywhere, p.o.s. option

Cons: Time clock, invoicing (I'd like to see what the customer sees...I'd also very much would like the option to attach notes to receipts...this has caused a huge problem with my clients not understanding what they were pre-paying for...if only I could attach a note )

Overall: The customer support from day one had been impeccable. I appreciate the updates, the option for user feedback/feature requests, the tutorials and amazing customer service. I'm still working the kinks out of this software to make it work best for my company set-up, but I'm really satisfied with what I get for the price I pay. I love that I can access this from anywhere and thay clients can book online.

Recommendations to other buyers: Read the info buttons if you're having a road block. If they don't answer your question, then an online tech will certainly be able to help you.

Pros: It's mobile friendly and easy to use!

Overall: When I started my business, I knew of some software for dog businesses but I dreaded the whole "start from scratch" idea to set it up! When I found Petexec and did the demo, I was so relieved! Being able to access it on my phone was a big plus. You can't do that with computer software! I talked to a rep who answered my questions with ease! Not to mention she's a total sweetheart! I've been using Petexec now for over 5 years and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Pros: Customer support is fantastic and the software looks professional and is easy to use! Updates are made usually around 2 am in the morning out of business hours.

Cons: Nothing. It is great!

Overall: I love this software! If they ever do any updates or changes it is overnight and not during business hours which is fantastic. If we ever have a problem with the software which is rare the customer support is fantastic! When they change the look it takes a time to get used to but the staff in charge of the software is so wonderful and eager to help us at Pleasant Pooch learn it quick and answer any questions we may have.

Recommendations to other buyers: It can be difficult at first to understand where everything is but the customer support is so helpful!

Pros: The ease of use, ability to get tech support quickly.

Cons: I wish there were a faster way to group all daycare dogs with packages for checkout immediately. When you have 50-100 dogs in daycare or more, you have to click on each one individually.

Overall: We really enjoy the ability to reach the support group immediately. We do not need to call and tie up expensive resources, we can get most of our questions/issues resolved using the chat feature. We only wish that we could do more with the webcam feature, but perhaps in a future revision we can find a way to reward our customers to use the Petexec system to see their babies and give this as a perk in our new membership platform.

Pros: Ease of Use, variety of options !

Cons: The reporting for bookkeeping could be better in the projected income options. Would love to be able to click a timeframe and see projected $.

Overall: We tried two other system before this and we are so thrilled we found PetExec! There are always a few extra things we wish it would do but over 95% of our needs are met and any questions or hiccups are quickly and efficiently supported! They update regularly and are always working to improve their program which is so nice to see! The packmated group page is a wonderful way to support other kennels, learn and help each other as well and they monitor it closely so you know help is just a click away. We will be sticking with PetExec!

Recommendations to other buyers: It can be intimidating when it comes to allowing clients to book. I still haven't set that up out of anxiety I will royally screw it up but I hear when its all entered right it works great!

Pros: Petexec is very user friendly and functions great for our boarding, grooming, daycare and dog training. The site is easily navigated and works exactly like we need. I enjoy the ease of being able to review and adjust pet stays and info as needed.

Cons: For extended boarding reservations it can take awhile to pull up and modify.

When scheduling a new boarding it tends to glitche when altering the number of pets or Kennels.

Pros: It is easy to use (VERY straight forward, not convoluted like other software I have used for business management).

Cons: I cannot think of anything off the top of my head! Typically if there is an issue, if you contact support they will resolve it right away.

Overall: I have used PetExec for years now along with several other business management software and PetExec is definitely leaps and bounds above the rest! It is so easy to use and does pretty much everything for you! The staff at customer support are all friendly and either know how to help you or will pass you off to someone who does. They resolve your issues quickly and efficiently. Thank you PetExec and team! <3

Pros: Remote access

Cons: It times out too frequently. Don't like having to input name and password so frequently

Overall: The staff at Posche Paws Pet Resort & Spa love the PetExec program, especially after the last 2 updates. The program is extremely easy to navigate. There is an option for every aspect of our business. Love the ability to print multiple types of reports. The best feature by far is the ability to remotely access the program. That feature alone is worth the price! Very satisfied customers!

Pros: Visually Pleasing, full of features! Incredible customer service

Cons: sometimes the servers go down, but they have a backup one

Overall: Switched from an installed system for my kennel to PetExec 6 months after I bought my facility and I've had a great experience with it from day 1. The customer service alone (compared to my last system) was worth the switch. The PetExec crew is always there for you should you run into problems (most are user error on my part) or have questions. Not only are they there for you for issues but they offer a Feature Request option which is amazing and they are more than willing to implement new features. Very user-friendly and ascetically pleasing!! Very satisfied user!

Cons: We also perform adoptions so it would be great if it handled animal management!

Overall: We love PetExec not only for the features but for how easy it is to use. The staff can be quickly trained on its features so that you can get new hires started quickly. We also love the reporting that is available which helps us make changes to our operations since we know how we are doing. The customer service that PetExec provides is gold star and unparalleled by other software companies similar in size. Highly recommend using this software for Daycare, Boarding, and Grooming!

Recommendations to other buyers: Love the new front end design and how it feels like a web page versus a database software.

Pros: The Scheduling application is very easy to use and helpful. The POS component and history is excellent

Cons: There is no wait list(How hard would it be?)

I wish you could customize the price per dog, not per owner. I have many clients with more than one dog.

I cannot stand that when you refresh the calendar it goes to the current week, not the week I was just looking at.

Overall: Good, it's a nice tool that allows me to review activity from afar. It is a good value for the monthly fee
