Pros

  • The entire program is a good value and can be purchased outright with just service as an annual investment. The service is outstanding and responsive.

  • What we like most about this software is that we can set it up the way we like it to be. If there are ever any issues it is very easy to get a hold of people at Petlinx to get help.

  • Love this system, have had great support in times of need, and all Staff find it easy to use. Enjoy being able to personalise to suit my business.

  • It's the only software we have found that works best for us. We love the ease of the software and the boarding schedule is awesome.

Cons

  • Trial does not allow you to see what will be offered upon purchasing and POS does not work for Canadian businesses.

  • Limited capabilites w/o spending more money to customize, ie reports, changing input fields, etc.

  • No more accidental overbooking, forgetting to get a deposit, forgetting to charge for a requested bath - or worse still, not doing a paid for a bath.

  • Seems like it does a lot that I don't know about or make use of but is just too confusing to play with. Was also disappointed the email confirmation for customer appointments was not automatic.

Pros: Best features are flexibility, value and service. Pet care is very often a small business that is highly individualized. Having a program that can be purchased in sections (boarding, daycare, grooming) and then having a good amount of flexibility within the program to adapt to each business is a good thing. The entire program is a good value and can be purchased outright with just service as an annual investment. The service is outstanding and responsive.

Cons: The manual is the weakest. The manual is there as well as "help on this page". However, the help index rarely seems to actually help and most explanations are brief. Sometimes you need the long version!

"Use friendly and customizable"

Pros: I have a new boarding and grooming business and was looking for an easy to use software to keep client and pet records organized, create and modify bookings, send reminders to clients, and allow clients to request reservations. Petlinx has it all! I started with the built in tutorials which were very easy to follow along with for initial setup and getting to know the modules. Petlinx perfectly strikes the balance between being user friendly and customizable. It's very easy to access and update client information, as well as to customize lists and options. Employee setup is easy to use as well. Petlinx connects to Quickbooks. The online registration for clients to request services is user friendly and very easy for clients. Customer service/tech support is amazing. Any questions I had were usually answered via email usually within a few hours, and sometimes within minutes. The learning curve was minimal but it does take some time to get it fully set up and practice to become fluent in the program. I'm glad I had time to familiarize myself with it, customize all the data lists and options, create all my custom emails, and test it all before needing it.

Cons: Connecting my work email to send email confirmations and reminders to clients was not a tech skill I have done before and I needed quite a bit of help to find the settings in my email to allow Petlinx to connect. Thankfully there is a tutorial on the way!

Alternatives Considered: Ginger, Kennel Link and Paw Partner
Reasons for Choosing PetLinx: Petlinx seemed more customizable while still being easy to use. The menus are well organized.

"It's ok."

Pros: RELATIVELY easy to use, though hard to train people on it.

Cons: It has quirks and reservations will often disappear. it's very easy to do the wrong day. it's hard to make corrections when things are entered wrong (payments, etc). it would be better if there were another way to notate the packages that clients have. the drop down is quirky when people pay in advance and have multiple packages.

Reasons for Choosing PetLinx: don't recall it's been several years.

"PetLinx....... in a word GREAT!"

Overall: This software is a reliable and easy to use product and, we believe, good value for money. It will take a lot to beat it.

Pros: Easy to use, clear instructions, easy to transition to, fabulous timely personal support, and not a "static" product - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and his team continue to improve, build and refine the software to include wants and needs of its users.

Cons: I would love more financial type reports without having to upload to my accounting programme.

Pros: Features and support is very responsive.

Cons: None really its a really good program that I would recommend.
