Patient records are easy to access and filter. Inventory data base is pretty good as well. Love the integration with rapport for client communication. Cons The inability or lack of ease for e-mailing documents such as rabies certificates needs a lot of work. Have some trouble with inventory as far as allocated quantities being off and sales. Having to consistently rebuild indexes to keep things correct is a pain. Reason for choosing Covetrus Avimark The functions that were available at the time. Any time I had an issue, tech support was always supportive and able to help troubleshoot me through my issue. Pros Avimark is very easy to use for basic functions. It is easy to input new patients, handle inventory, and run reports necessary. Cons While it has the capabilities do everything you need that is necessary, it is extremely slow when performing those functions. When running inventory reports, I once was running different reports on 7 computers because it was taking about 15-30 minutes for each report. If I had only been using one computer, I would have never gotten what I needed to do done. Review Source LB Lisa B. I have been using it for over 18 years at 2 different practices. It is very user friendly and having to use Tech support is very helpful Pros Ease of use specially in training new employees to learn Cons Recently the problems I have had with the software in the issue of accessing Tripos at end of day through Avimark. I Can't just go through the link in the software. Must go to website in internet directly. Payment processing tech states that the problem is because Google did a update. Cons At times, the customer support for this software is not the greatest. You sometimes wait on hold for a long time and then you still may not get an answer after speaking with someone. Pros Easy to use (once you learn it). The support staff is usually always very helpful and some will even teach you how to fix it on your own so you don't have to always call in (Which I like) Cons The biggest con for us is the support for the Credit Card terminals is overseas. Very hard to understand them. It's always a nightmare when we have to deal with the processing side of the credit card terminals (Tripos). Another would be the Compatability with Word Versions. I am however interested in all the cloud based options available. Pros I prefer Avimark over other software. Avimark is easier to use and seems to work better in a busy practice. Practice Manager Veterinary Used the software for: 2+ years ### "AVImark at work" November 17, 2020 4.0 My experience with AVImark has been positive and if I have needed support, I call and can get assistance right at that time. Pros AVImark is a great software program for out veterinary business. It supports the majority of our daily interactions and transactions. I am new to the clinic and AVImark has been an easy tool to use and get comfortable with. Cons The only issue at this time is that we have opened up another wellness clinic site. Only 1/2 block away from our existing site and we continue to have issues with getting AVImark to work for us in the new building. Believe it is more of a server issue than avimark issue. Cons I don't like the change that was made for selecting date range. You no longer are able to go back a full year to be able to print histories for clients. You have to go back by the month. They thought of most everything needed to run a veterinarian practice, and obviously been working on improvements. Cons The cost of the service is quite high, and not being cloud based was a downfall for us. With 2 busy offices we had to stop and sync the software, and we were still unable to retrieve needed files when away from the server. Cons You cant have multiple medical hx's up or other windows. There are a bunch of little glitches that are never found until they are caught and a global or inventory update is required. We have everything color coded and easy to view on a consolidated or daily set up. I would like to be able to inactivate clients who have not been in for over a year yet keep sending reminders for vaccinations that may not be due for 2+ years. Cons Our stored Word document templates (ie., Rabies Certificates) can not be emailed through Avimark without printing or scanning first. The scheduling works well, and it is easy to work on inventory. Pros Avimark is a vet software I've used for the longest time. Once you learn it, I find it has great functionality and can do most things that we require. Compared to other vet software, I find Avimark is the most user friendly and detailed. Cons We find Avimark in general is quite expensive, especially with the cost of storage. The learning curve is hard at first for people not familiar with, but once you learn it, it is good. Have been satisfied overall and very few things that cannot be done with the program Pros Easy to use once it is set up. Medical record format is easy to follow. Many customizable features and add-on options. Widely used software that many other companies can integrate with Cons Support quality is not what it used to be. Support costs keep going up. Some lack of consistency in hot keys. One of the best choices for a non-cloud-based system. Pros Avimark is fairly easy to use while simultaneously being full-featured. It is an excellent choice for paperless practices who want a server in-house. Technical support staff seem knowlegable. Make sure you have enough hardware horsepower; don’t buy cheap PCs. Cons Integration with Microsoft Word for reports is flexible, but also adds expense and complexity over a native reporting engine. It only integrates with a very limited number of DICOM systems; wider support in that area would be nice. Review Source CH Colleen H. Fees have increased with support but the program is no longer regularly updated. I have been pleased but recently less pleased overall. Pros Low cost, flexible features, POMRS. Medical records. Cons The number of upgrades have dropped off since McAllister brothers sold the company. I have repeatedly asked for help implementing time card use on sidekick units but that request is never been addressed. When sidekick is backed up there should be an automatic internal backup of the laptop and the server. This does not happen. Reason for choosing Covetrus Avimark Cost and ease of use. It's got everything to run a vet practice and works well over both a peer-to-peer and client server network. Cons It can be quirky. I keep having intermittent printing related issues that I can't exactly pinpoint the cause. Our DYMO label printers work fine for 2-3 months, then randomly will lose it's configuration for the labels and have to be reset. Cons I am an exotics animal veterinarian that uses Idexx as my lab. Recent changes have made Avimark no longer compatible with Idexx, and it won't create requisitions for my patients. I have called Idexx and they say it is Avimark's problem. I have talked to Avimark multiple times and they have blown me off saying they are "working on it". But after months there is no improvement. I am so tired of having to go into Idexx and create each requisition by hand! I hope to switch to a different program soon. Review Source BP Becca P.
